One of the nicest umbrellas we've owned it looks beautiful and does exactly what we need . We like it enough that friends and neighbours have already heard us recommending it. The pink is bright and looks just as we'd hoped , nice to have something cheerful when it's raining thank you

Being happy with something doesn't mean I stop enjoying a bargain.

Apparently some men need an umbrella to confirm their membership of the serious men club. I just want one I enjoy carrying. Gray suits me, this Haven feels light but solid, and that will do nicely. I'd still look out for a reduced price if you're not in a hurry. Being happy with something doesn't mean I stop enjoying a bargain. It works for a bit of shade while walking on the beach as well, which matters when the hair on top has decided to retire before the rest of you. I call that area my weather station, since it notices everything first. Anyway, an umbrella can be practical without making you feel issued with standard equipment. I'll take a little personal choice over joining the queue for what everyone else has.

My walk to work means I can't just dash from a car to a door when it rains. I got tired of buying cheap umbrellas that needed replacing every couple of months, so this time I actually looked into what I was buying. It costs more, yes, but it feels like something worth keeping rather than another temporary fix. The frame feels substantial and opening it is easy when I'm ready to set off. I was still under forty when I bought it and somehow managed to get a few "old man" comments anyway. An older Scottish lady told me I looked like an English gentleman, which I thought was rather a compliment! It folds away when I get in, so I don't have a long umbrella to find a home for either. Maybe I'll still be using it at eighty, provided I haven't left it somewhere first!

The first proper rain I took this out in came with plenty of wind.

The first proper rain I took this out in came with plenty of wind. It did turn inside out in a gust, which wasn't much of a shock. Nothing snapped or stayed bent though, and I had it back in shape and working straight away. Those flexible ribs seem useful rather than just something in the description. Also appreciate the loop handle, gives me something definite to hold on to. And the sleeve stops the folded fabric... bundle... thing spreading out in my bag when I've put it away (because I am not the world's neatest umbrella folder)

For what it costs, it's honestly hard to beat.

I'm buying this umbrella again because I left the first one on a plane. It hadn't broken or worn out, I just never got it back. I was annoyed enough at losing it that I ordered another the very next day. For what it costs, it's honestly hard to beat. I'd have been prepared to pay considerably more for it. I love how it looks, and yes, I've actually had women come over and comment on my umbrella...not kidding.

A nicer umbrella than I expected when it arrived.

A nicer umbrella than I expected when it arrived. I needed to replace one the wind had battered. This one feels well made, simple to open and fold away. Light to carry and comes with a sleeve. Just one rainy outing so far - and yes, it kept me dry!Living in Florida, being able to use it for shade as well is a real bonus. Definately useful for me.

This umbrella has helped a lot.

We take a lady who uses a wheelchair to work and home again. Waiting for the lift used to leave us soaked. This umbrella has helped a lot. One press gets it open while we help her, and the canopy snaps shut!!! We liked it enough to get another to leave at home. A handy thing to take along

So glad to have one of these again!

So glad to have one of these again! My gray umbrella went everywhere with me for three years, until I left it across the country last autumn. I tried a couple of other umbrellas but none felt quite as nice. Ordered gray again and I'm looking forward to having it for the rainy days ahead. Still gets lovely comments whenever I carry it!

Such a happy find!

Such a happy find! Walking back from school in the rain, my six year old noticed a mum with a blue umbrella and immediately wanted one on her Christmas list. I found this and it has gone down brilliantly! She likes watching it open with the button. Folding the canopy is simple too, then I help push the shaft down. The loop handle is comfortable and the whole thing feels well made. I'm delighted with it and she's even more delighted!!

Samantha Ayala

I know that sounds dramatic, but I've had enough of that.

Getting caught in rain is bad enough without wrestling an umbrella that's trying to turn itself inside out. I know that sounds dramatic, but I've had enough of that. This one has stayed the right way round through the gusts I've met on my walks. It's a relief to just carry on down the street, keep my head dry and not spend the whole time fighting with it.

Lori Mack

An unusually satisfying umbrella in just about every respect.

An unusually satisfying umbrella in just about every respect. I still have an old trekking one to judge it against, and this compares very well. The black canopy has a restrained look, although I can see the appeal of the brighter options. A very strong recommendation!!

Stephen Parrish

Such a favourite of mine.

Such a favourite of mine. The one I keep for myself has had lots of use, and people often say how nice it looks. A friend kept admiring it whenever I took it out, so this one was his surprise present! He was absolutely THRILLED!Happy both ways! It isn't just nice to look at either, it's a proper useful umbrella. :-) Thanks for that.

Just remember it's a folding umbrella, not a golf-sized shelter.

My collection of supposedly tough umbrellas has mostly ended up in the bin (collection sounds grander than the five or so involved). This one has survived a few months of blustery dog walks, which is a promising change, and I'm very happy with it. It feels substantial without being one of those enormous umbrellas that takes over the pavement. There's enough cover for me when the dog decides rain is no reason to hurry. Just remember it's a folding umbrella, not a golf-sized shelter. For trips around the neighbourhood that suits me nicely, and it's much less awkward if I head into town.

My Goth daughter had picked this for her wish list... she ended up opening it ahead of her birthday when the rain wouldn't stop and she needed it for school... I wasn't sure how useful it would be, but it kept her dry without a problem... that settled my worries. I'd happily choose another umbrella from the same range....

Doing a good job at my daughters soccer games!

Doing a good job at my daughters soccer games! Rain seems to turn up every time she plays! Feels sturdy and hasn't turned over in the breeze. A bit bulkier in my bag than I would like, even folded, so I tend to save it for match days rather than carry it everywhere

Sonia Lowe

The fabric feels decent too.

The handle isn't quite as comfortable as I'd hoped, especially if I'm carrying it for a while, and there's more movement in a breeze than I'd choose. That was my first reaction to this Mother's Day present. Then I found out what it cost and had to reconsider (do I question my child's generosity, or congratulate the sensible spending?). It isn't fair to judge a folding umbrella as though I'd spent a fortune on it. In actual use it keeps me dry on the trip to the shops, opens without a struggle, and doesn't weigh my bag down too much. The fabric feels decent too. I still prefer a different grip, so I'm not giving it a perfect score, but there's a lot to appreciate here. A perfectly respectable four.

The cream white is gorgeous!

The cream white is gorgeous! It looks much better in person than in the photo. The mechanism works properly and it's held up to everyday handling, which says something because I am clumsy with rain gear. Most umbrellas don't have an easy life with me. There's a bit of give to the ribs when it's breezy. I wanted something to wear with my raincoat and they look lovely together.

Mitchell Reid

My umbrella wish list was 1/ a button to open it quickly

My umbrella wish list was 1/ a button to open it quickly; 2/ enough cover to be useful; 3/ a folded size that would go in most of my handbags and 4/ a plain black finish. This one ticks those boxes pretty well. The quick opening is probably my favourite part, especially when the rain surprises me. It goes in my bags, although I do notice the extra weight; coverage is good for the size (not the spread of my big golf umbrella, naturally! That's an observation, not a complaint.) I'm enjoying having something so handy and may pick up another in a different colour.

The closed oval loop handle deserves a mention.

It might be excessive to write at length about an umbrella, but my wife has been pleased enough with this one that a few comments are deserved. She carries an umbrella on sunny days too, so appearance matters as well as keeping dry. I wanted something understated in beige rather than anything flashy, with enough cover and a frame that didn't feel flimsy. This has fitted that brief very nicely. The closed oval loop handle deserves a mention. It isn't a traditional curved hook; the carabiner lets her attach it to her bag when she wants her hands free. Being able to fold it down is useful, and it has enough substance to inspire confidence without becoming a burden to carry.I earn my living working on European cars, and tend to notice whether moving parts feel properly put together. The action here feels positive and the frame looks thoughtfully made. For the money I consider it a very sound choice and would recommend it without hesitation...P.S. My wife says even her colleagues have noticed and complimented her umbrella.

It costs a bit more now :( at least somebody enjoyed it already

Only had it a couple of weeks and it was meant for a pin-up session and some wedding photos. The pink is prettier in person, a stronger shade than I expected which suits me better. Then the dog found it and gave it a good chew before I could use it :'( Not the umbrellas fault, and I'd def buy the same one again. It costs a bit more now :( at least somebody enjoyed it already

The stitching is tidy and the handle has been finished neatly, with materials that feel substantial rather than cheap. It isn't the smallest or lightest thing to leave in a bag every day, so that is worth considering. For someone who puts build quality ahead of having the tiniest folding umbrella, I think this is a very good option.

Sue Dyer

Thankyou, loving it already !

Thankyou, loving it already !Only had one chance to use it so far, so waiting for more rain to give it a proper go and see how it manages. It gets very windy where I live, so there should be plenty of chances, and I was fed up with umbrellas turning inside out on me.The first outing went well anyway. I picked the green and love that too, nice to have something different from the usual dark umbrellas everyone seems to carry.

Savannah Robles

It fits in my backpack, which is handy for unexpected showers.

It fits in my backpack, which is handy for unexpected showers. I wasn't sure it would feel very solid folded down that small, but opening it changed my mind. Looks like it should stand up well to regular rain. I won't be volunteering to test it in a gale though!

Tracy Anderson

A very promising replacement.

The demise of my old umbrella had one good result: I started looking for something I'd actually enjoy carrying. This one looks smart and, more importantly, doesn't feel like a flimsy little emergency purchase. On a wet, breezy evening I tried it at a few different angles, and it was much less of a wrestling match than I'd been used to. The frame has 30 flexible ribs; I can't give you scientific results, but the whole thing feels reassuringly substantial. For walking, the roughly 105cm canopy is a useful size for me with the dog close beside me. Not a mobile wedding venue (probably just as well), but perfectly adequate cover. Folded it's about 40cm, and at around 390g I don't find it a burden to bring along. I also like being able to open it and collapse the canopy using the button, then shorten the shaft manually afterwards. That's a practical convenience rather than something to get terribly excited about, but it does make using it pleasant. The price seems fair for the quality, and it's an umbrella I'm happy to keep by the door for my walks. A very promising replacement.

Carl Huerta

That's my reason for four stars.

An excellent umbrella, just wish the grip gave my hand a little more room - feels a bit to short. That's my reason for four stars.Still wouldn't put anyone off getting one. It travels in my messenger bag on work days and has handled wind and rain well, so the handle size is my only real reservation.

Jocelyn Dalton

My daughter and her teammates thought this umbrella was GREAT.

My daughter and her teammates thought this umbrella was GREAT. It gets noticed whenever we take it along and people keep asking about it. We've used it for a bit of shade and also when the rain starts, so it isn't just sitting at home looking pretty. LOVE THIS ONE!

Bob Richardson

Among the best umbrellas I've used, easily.

Among the best umbrellas I've used, easily. As a Floridian, I've had plenty of opportunities to decide what I want from an umbrella, and this feels reassuringly solid. It springs open smoothly and the frame looks well put together. Whether it will stay that way for years is something I can't say yet. The oval loop handle also gives it a distinctive look without being over the top. As an everyday umbrella it works very well, and the design makes it more enjoyable to carry.

Yvonne Huerta

I teach and spend alot of time outside with the children.

I teach and spend alot of time outside with the children. I don't enjoy strong sunlight. The cream white canopy has a black inside, and I get a nice patch of shade underneath it. IT IS A BIT WEIGHTY. I got one for my wife too, she is also a teacher, but she won't carry hers because it's too heavy for her. I don't mind that part, it makes standing outside much more pleasant for me.

Joanna Pitts

A hood pulled around my face isn't my idea of a good walk.

Rain has been part of life here since I was a kid, but that doesn't mean I enjoy getting soaked to prove a point. A hood pulled around my face isn't my idea of a good walk. I'd rather have an umbrella, and this green one has a cheerful look without being silly. Not much to gaze at underneath, since it's black there, but seeing the colour before I put it up cheers me up. It reminds me of admiring umbrellas on trips to New York, which is a nice little association on a grey morning. Construction feels sound, not some indestructible piece of engineering. The loop handle is comfortable enough and it folds away tidily. One person has good space; two have to be rather friendly. My only real annoyance wasn't the umbrella's fault: I left one in a restaurant rack and somebody walked off with it. I replaced it with the same one, and now it stays where I can see it.

Timothy Newman

Good umbrella.

Good umbrella. About 390 grams. Construction looks carefully done. The black fabric has a dark underside as well. Handle is an oval loop, easy to keep hold of. Many ribs under the canopy, 30 according to the description, and they have some flexibility. Button operation - press once to open, press again and the canopy folds in. Then the telescoping part must be pushed down manually. A sleeve is included for carrying. Open size is generous for a folding umbrella, which I appreciate.

Trevor Pacheco

Apparently I can get this excited about an umbrella!!!

Apparently I can get this excited about an umbrella!!! Usually I just walk through a bit of drizzle and don't give it another thought. Fog, damp air, whatever. But if I have actually made an effort with my hair, suddenly I am a very different person. All that time getting ready and then one Seattle downpour? No thank you! This gave me enough cover that I wasn't doing that ridiculous hunched walk trying to keep my head dry. With the black canopy I keep it raised enough to see where I'm going, and there's still plenty of coverage. I like pressing a button and having it open without a wrestling match. It folds down, although it still needs its own little corner in an already overstuffed bag- not a problem for me. After a soaking I leave it spread out to dry rather than shut it away wet. Nothing complicated, just something I make myself remember. Then came a very hurried move to Hawaii and this was one of the things I couldn't squeeze into my packed belongings...of course! Now I'm looking at buying another because I actually miss having it handy;) An umbrella is not normally something I would rave about, but here we are. Absolutely recommend this one!

Attractive & solidly put together.

Attractive & solidly put together. Here in Florida the rain often comes with a breeze, so I wanted something that didn't feel flimsy in my hand. This has been a good choice & the price suited me too.The button is straightforward to use and it feels substantial without being a huge umbrella to carry. Glad I took a chance on it, it's the sort of practical purchase I appreciate

Shelly Everett

Thank you for putting me onto this!

On my walks round the golf course this umbrella gives welcome shade, even makes the heat rising off the ground seem less tiring. I don't feel so worn out. Another golfer had one with his walking cart and invited me underneath to feel the difference. Thank you for putting me onto this! One appreciative dad

This umbrella has been excellent in some very wet, blustery weather.

This umbrella has been excellent in some very wet, blustery weather. Much more solid than I expected at the price. It opens out wider than you'd think from the folded size, so you do have to mind people on the pavement. I'd rather make a little room and stay dry though!

Betty Middleton

It has a lovely look and feels reasonably sturdy.

It has a lovely look and feels reasonably sturdy. My 18 month old can't comfortably hold that big loop, so it's one for me to hold over him. He is fascinated with my umbrella, which is why I bought this. Mine is still apparently the favourite, but I'm pleased with the purchase.

Ricardo Hendricks

Ended up getting a smaller umbrella for that bag.

Chicago rain usually comes with wind, and I've had enough umbrellas give up on the walk to work. This one has handled those wet walks well and hasn't tried to flip inside out. The snag is its folded length. It still sticks out of my work bag, which is a bit annoying when I'm commuting. Ended up getting a smaller umbrella for that bag. I rate this one well for keeping me dry, just wish it packed a little shorter.

Gina Martinez

Folded, it is bulkier than I expected from a travel umbrella.

I'm not sure what counts as a handbag-sized umbrella these days, because it definitely won't go in any of mine! Folded, it is bulkier than I expected from a travel umbrella. On the other hand the frame feels much more substantial. I haven't had it out in really gusty weather yet, so no verdict on that, but it looks promising for the summer showers ahead.

Julia Pacheco

This umbrella has presence.

This umbrella has presence. Plenty of room when it's open. Plenty of room to feel smug while everyone else hunches into the rain. And SO much smaller when it's put away than I expected. Had it out in some gusty rain and it came through looking just the same. Very happy with this purchase. 5 stars.

Marvin Forbes

The loop handle gives me a handy place to hold on.

This has become the umbrella I reach for before heading out, even when the sky only looks threatening. Funny how much easier it is to remember something when you actually like carrying it. The loop handle gives me a handy place to hold on. I walked a few blocks for a bite to eat in the rain this week and came back with a dry jacket. Definitely earning its place by the door!

Frederick Ayers

I like the shape and solid feel of it.

I like the shape and solid feel of it. Enough cover to keep me dry without constantly brushing into people on the pavement, which is a plus. I'd hoped the button would finish the whole closing job instead of just gathering the canopy. You still have to compress the shaft yourself, which is normal for this type. A fully retracting one would have been ideal -- but putting that aside, it's a great everyday umbrella.

Aaron Patel

Excellent, really excellent!

Excellent, really excellent! I'm particular about my golf gear and this is a nice addition. Handy size. Easy to carry. Opens with a press! I don't always want an enormous golf umbrella, just something useful when the weather changes. This one fits that bill. Glad to have it!

Mindy Fisher

Useful Umbrella..

Useful Umbrella..I took it during rainy season travelling in Asia andit kept me dry very well. Size feels right without too much weight to carry about. For normal use I dont think you will be disappointed. In a place with lots of wind and rain together I would look for more protection though. I loved using it. my wife used it too, then lost it last month. So another one is on my list ! Can recommend it.

Shelley Potts

A very good folding umbrella for everyday use.

A very good folding umbrella for everyday use. Small enough when packed away that I don't mind bringing it, with enough canopy once open to keep me properly covered. The frame feels substantial and has coped with moderate wind without folding back on me. I'm on my second one only because I managed to leave the first behind, not because anything went wrong with it. That first one was still going strong. I also bought one for my partner, who borrowed mine for a day and then decided sharing wasn't going to be enough. That probably says as much as my review does.

Rick Rivera

It takes up more room than I'd like, though I'd still choose a larger umbrella over a tiny one. Bigger than I had pictured, so I would suggest actually measuring the folded length and checking how it sits in the bag you're going to carry, and whether that size will be comfortable for you.

Regina Schmidt

Everything was as expected and the quality is good for what I paid.

Everything was as expected and the quality is good for what I paid. Looked through quite a few similar umbrellas before deciding on this one, and I'm glad I did. Feels strong without being too heavy to carry. I have use it in a shower now and it kept me dry. A really good choice for the money :)

Damon Hodge

The button opening is handy when I need cover quickly.

Chose this to replace my old umbrella, partly for the plain black look and partly because the reviews sounded encouraging. I've carried it for a little over a month now and what I appreciate is the coverage, the sturdyness, and especially the weight. It doesn't weigh my bag down like my previous one did. Smaller umbrellas have been disappointing for me when the wind gets up (which happens a lot where I live) and I wanted something that felt more dependable. This one has been out in rain and some wind and has behaved very well. The button opening is handy when I need cover quickly. About the only thing I'd change is the push needed to compress the shaft after the button closes the canopy. That last bit is manual, but I haven't taken a star away because it's straightforward once you know, and I'm happy with the weight and size.It hasn't been needed for shade yet, mostly just keeping the rain off me.

Patricia Everett

For what I paid, I'm impressed with the overall quality and finish.

Sturdy Beige Folding Umbrella with Loop HandleWhen this arrived I hadn't expected it to feel quite so substantial. The canopy has a decent spread, the handle sits well in my hand, and the frame looks thoughtfully made. Some folding umbrellas I've looked at seem barely ready for a shower (very flimsy)--this one feels much more reassuring. Obviously only time will tell how long it lasts, but I expect to have it around for a good while. For what I paid, I'm impressed with the overall quality and finish.

Steve Dominguez

I wouldn't call it heavy duty though.

At six dollars, which is what I paid, this umbrella is a perfectly reasonable buy. Seeing it listed for more than twenty now, I definitely wouldn't spend that much! It's a useful size rather than one of those tiny bargain umbrellas. Looks nice, seems put together fairly well, and the materials are decent. I wouldn't call it heavy duty though. My son is pleased with it, and at my price I'm pleased too, so no regrets about buying it.

Carmen Hernandez

I'm pleased with it and would be happy to buy it again.

Arrived today and my two year old spotted it straight away. He wanted to carry it around the house and kept telling me it was his umbrella. He is very keen on doing things for himself, so having one to hold "like mummy" has made him happy. It's an adult size umbrella rather than a little toddler one, so I help him with it outside and don't leave him to manage it alone. He likes the button, and I like not having to fiddle with a little catch to get the canopy down. The shaft still needs pushing back in by me. It feels sturdy, not rattly or flimsy. The green is a nice colour too. I'm pleased with it and would be happy to buy it again.

Franklin Bradley

I did hesitate over the price, but I'm really pleased with this one.

Sunscreen is not my favourite thing & living in a sunny, windy desert means I am always looking for some shade. I wanted an umbrella with a bit of substance, not something I'd be replacing right away.I did hesitate over the price, but I'm really pleased with this one.It makes sunny walks much more comfortable & the whole thing seems nicely put together. I still use common sense when it gets gusty, but for everyday shade this has been a great buy. Money well spent.
