I wasn't expecting quite so much umbrella from something that folds down this small. For what I paid, I'm happy with it! It turned up earlier than I had expected, which my husband and I appreciated as we've had rain in San Francisco and more on the way. Good timing! The canopy has enough room for me with the baby tucked close, and my husband finds the button easy to use too. It feels manageable to carry rather than a big long umbrella. We haven't had it long enough to judge years of use, but at the moment we're very happy with the purchase!

Coverage is the main thing I look for in an umbrella.
Coverage is the main thing I look for in an umbrella. The really little ones are easy to carry, but you notice their limits when rain starts landing on your shoulders. This has a useful amount of room overhead without being a long umbrella to lug about. I also appreciate the flexible ribs. There is some give in them, and mine has kept its shape when a gust has caught it. You still have to hold on, but it hasn't been awkward to manage. My last umbrella was stolen, so I went for gray with this replacement; it's a pleasant colour. A carry sleeve comes with it, which is nice once the umbrella has dried and you want to put it away. The oval clip handle also means I can attach it to a loop on my bag when my hands are full. That's useful rather than just something that looks different. There's a choice of colours as well, so gray isn't the only option if you prefer something else.

This umbrella works perrfectly for that!
We have four indoor "fur~kids" who enjoy their time on our sunny deck. Their grass patch is in one of those plastic turtle sand boxes, so not much shade around it. One of the cats is very pale & I worry about those little ears in the sun. Poor thing. I wanted something I could hold over the box while sitting with them, not a huge permanent shade. This umbrella works perrfectly for that! Easy to fold up when their grass time is over & put away till next time. I don't leave it outside unattended or try to use it through a thunderstorm. For our little supervised visits, it is just what we needed. Might buy another to have handy. OUR KITTIES APPROVE!!! SO GLAD WE FOUND THIS...HAPPY LITTLE PAWS HERE!!!

) But the umbrella itself is great.
There was a bit of confusion getting the parcel (it showed as delivered before I actually had it, then it turned up a couple of days later. All sorted in the end.) But the umbrella itself is great. Living on the east coast means a calm rainy day is not always what you get. My old umbrella was more trouble than help. This one has felt much sturdier in the weather I've used it in, and opens to a generous size. Looks nice as well!

This is one of the nicest looking umbrellas I have owned.
This is one of the nicest looking umbrellas I have owned. The gray is a beautiful quiet shade, and the black underneath gives it a really finished appearance. There is nothing busy about it, which lets you appreciate the shape and how neatly the fabric sits on the frame. I am impressed with the attention to the smaller details as well. It feels properly supported inside rather than just looking attractive. Opened out, there is a generous amount of cover for one person and it has sheltered me nicely from rain. An everyday object that is actually a pleasure to carry!

It arrived promptly and the construction looks good to me.
I was replacing an umbrella that had given out, and after looking around this seemed a sensible price for what you get. It arrived promptly and the construction looks good to me. I mostly use it for some shade while my daughter is playing soccer, rather than just carrying it for rain. It has been fine in the breezy weather we've had here in Oklahoma so far. Nothing flimsy about the feel of it. I'm happy with what I paid and with the umbrella itself.

I wish I was better at remembering where I'd put one.
If you want good coverage from an umbrella that doesn't feel flimsy, I'd recommend this one. It opens to a useful size, although the folded umbrella is heavier than you might expect from looking at it. Anyone wanting the absolute lightest thing in their bag might not enjoy that. I've came back for the same one because I liked using it and didn't want to gamble on something unfamiliar. My problem is leaving them behind, not wearing them out... I wish I was better at remembering where I'd put one. For me the extra money is worthwhile when the rain starts and I have something dependable to hold over me.

This has made me very happy.
This has made me very happy. Such a good umbrella and I would recommend it without hesitation. The shaft feels a little short for how I like to hold an umbrella, but for something that folds away for travelling it makes sense. The green is gorgeous, really happy with that. It weighs more than some of the little umbrellas I've had, though the build feels better as well. I keep coming back to how nice it is when opened. I'm impressed and glad I went for this one.

The price was the main thing for me with this umbrella.
The price was the main thing for me with this umbrella. For everyday use it seems absolutely fine, although I wouldn't pay a premium for it!There's enough room underneath to feel properly covered, and it doesn't have that flimsy feel some small umbrellas have. Nothing about it says heavy duty, but the fabric and general finish are good for the money. My son likes it, which was the point, and I feel I got a good deal. Happy with this purchase.

The oval loop handle feels firm yet comfortable in my hand.
I'm hardly someone who gets excited about umbrellas, but I do appreciate this one. Most of the ones I see around town are dark and rather anonymous. The cream white looks different without looking as though I'm trying to make a statement. It has a clean, simple look, which is more my style. The important part, of course, is using it. The release button opens it promptly and a second press gathers the canopy in. Compressing the shaft afterwards is a separate, manual step, and straightforward once you know that. The oval loop handle feels firm yet comfortable in my hand. There is enough coverage for everyday rain without the sheer bulk of a golf umbrella. I wouldn't make grand claims about how any handheld umbrella will behave in wild winds; there's still a broad canopy catching the air. For normal use, though, it feels solid, is comfortable to carry, and has been a very good choice.
Guy Todd
For everyday use I'm happy enough to recommend it.
Plenty of coverage, but packs away neatly in my back pack. Sleeve too. Wanted a button operated umbrella and this does that part nicely. Can't say what it would be like in really rough weather, haven't tried that. For everyday use I'm happy enough to recommend it.Update: had it out for a walk in light rain with a breeze. Still useful, though I wouldn't pick a compact umbrella if I knew serious wind was coming.

My beige one has turned out to be that umbrella.
Cheap umbrellas stopped feeling cheap once I kept having to buy the next one. I've meant to write about this one for ages, but at least now I can say how it's been to actually live with, rather than just how it looked out of the packet. It has earned its place in my bag, enough that I ended up getting another so I could pick whichever suited what I was wearing.
Living in NYC, there's always somebody selling umbrellas as soon as the rain starts, and I used to grab those in desperation. After several that barely seemed worth carrying home, I wanted something I could keep. My beige one has turned out to be that umbrella. It packs down small, but there's still decent cover once it's up.
The button brings it straight up and will also draw the canopy closed. That's particularly useful getting through a doorway with other things in your hands. The ribs have some give, and on blustery, rainy days it's kept its shape while I've seen other umbrellas turning over nearby. I'm not deliberately taking it out to test its limits, just using it normally and staying dry.
My one small grumble is putting it back in the sleeve. If I rush folding the fabric it needs a little rearranging before it'll slide in properly. Not something that bothers me much considering how well the umbrella itself has held up.
Basically, it's the one I leave in my purse instead of wondering whether it'll last another outing. Small enough to keep with me for unexpected showers, and reliable enough that I'm very glad I stopped buying the disposable-feeling ones.

Compact to carry, light but feels properly made and the button is…
Compact to carry, light but feels properly made and the button is easy to work . My first one has been going for about three years and is still in good shape. Have now bought another for a family member,as mine kept being borrowed just when I wanted it myself. A very practical umbrella overall, although I do think the price could be a little lower, which is why I have given four stars.

My first umbrella from Haven and I'm very happy with it.
My first umbrella from Haven and I'm very happy with it. The whole thing feels solid and well put together, so I'm hoping for plenty of use out of it. A press opens it easily and another folds the canopy, then you push the shaft back in yourself. That final push takes some effort when I'm trying to get indoors out of the rain. Folded up it's about 40cm long, and getting the fabric arranged neatly under the tie takes a little time because it feels bulky. I would call it a one-person umbrella, with plenty of shelter for that person. The quality and the way it's designed make it one I'd recommend!
Gabriella Mendoza
Apart from that I'm pleased!
I was looking for some shade in this heat and decided to try this umbrella. It looks just like the picture, which is nice. Opened it up and it was sooooo much easier than expected. Putting it away neatly was another matter..the button collapses the canopy but you still have to push the telescoping part down. Then I spent FOREVER getting the folds tidy like they were before. my goodness I am not quick at that. It all packs down once I've arranged it, so nothing wrong with it, just fiddly for me. Apart from that I'm pleased!
Albert Rodriguez
I wouldn't call that easy for someone with very weak hands.
Sure, it gives me decent cover, but how it handles lots of use is something only time will tell. The fabric doesn't LOOK especially substantial, although it has kept the rain off perfectly well so far. Closing needs a bit of effort: the button shuts the canopy, then you have to compress the telescoping stem yourself. I wouldn't call that easy for someone with very weak hands. Also watch where you put your thumb, it's possible to catch the button when holding it open. You need to finish resetting it before it'll open again. Still, useful umbrella.
Mark Robertson
A useful umbrella that feels worth what I paid.
The pink makes this feel like a little bit of "cheer" on a miserable wet day. I have plenty of room underneath without it being enormous. Love being able to pop it up AND bring the canopy back in with the button. A useful umbrella that feels worth what I paid.
Mathew Oconnor
Apart from the weight I think it is a very good umbrella.
It isn't the lightest compact umbrella in my hand, and I do notice that after carrying it a while. Not unbearable, just something worth saying. Apart from the weight I think it is a very good umbrella. My daughter uses hers much more in Washington DC than I do in the southwest, and she loves it. Bought her another after the first was stolen. She was heartbroken.

Material looks of good quality.
The parcel arrived after quite a wait. Material looks of good quality. Have not tried it in rain yet. For everyday carrying, at this price, it seems very good. The finishing of the parts is satisfactory. Size agrees with the description. I am content with this purchase. Can recommend to buy.

Why doesn't EVERYBODY keep an umbrella handy?
Why doesn't EVERYBODY keep an umbrella handy? Walking around the city on a wet night is miserable enough, thank you, without arriving at the car soaked. I use this between my office and the parking garage and it makes that part of the day considerably less unpleasant.Personally, I'd prefer a little more coverage at the edges. Not a giant umbrella, just enough extra so I don't have to think about where my shoulder is. I'm serious. The compact size is handy the rest of the time, though, so I suppose that's the trade off. It opens quickly with the button, which matters when I'm stepping straight into rain. Mine has had a year of use and still looks respectable. Pretty solid construction and an easy recommendation, with that one reservation about size.
Sherri Roman
I'd recommend it.
A decent umbrella, heavier than I expected but still compact when folded. I imagine that's down to the sturdy ribs and shaft plus the push-button opening and closing. I'd recommend it. Opened up there's room for two close together, and my backpack stays covered as well.
Erik Simmons
Smooth oval handle, nice in the hand.
Excellent 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
Very pretty cream white, feels strong and well finished. Quick button opening, canopy closes quickly too. Smooth oval handle, nice in the hand. Plenty of room underneath for me, and the ribs feel flexible rather than brittle.
Full marks from me.

no wrestling with a great big canopy on the way home.
it isn't small enough for my purse, but it does a good job keeping my upper half dry. i leave it at the office because our rain mostly seems to arrive in the afternoon, then take it out when the sky looks threatening at home time. i've had it out when the wind picked up and it stayed manageable. no wrestling with a great big canopy on the way home. i'm happy with how it has handled those rainy walks, which is really what i needed it for.
Mariah Meadows
Nice when a recommendation turns out to be right.
A colleague kept telling me how useful this umbrella was in wet, breezy weather. So I tried one myself and can see why they liked it. Mine has stayed in shape on the rainy walks I've used it for, and it feels reassuring to hold. Nice when a recommendation turns out to be right.

Well now I'm almost hoping the weather turns wet.
Well now I'm almost hoping the weather turns wet. I've had good umbrellas before and this has that same solid feeling, with the added convenience of a button to open it. Haven't actually taken it out in rain yet, so this is first impressions, but I'm itching to give it a go.
Angel Zimmerman
This is an umbrella I'm happy to recommend.
This is an umbrella I'm happy to recommend. The loop feels a little unusual in my hand, but it does the job. I work downtown where it gets VERY breezy between buildings, and it's been steady on my rainy walks. The canopy reaches over my back well enough that I'm not arriving with my shoulders soaked. That's what I wanted from it.
Dawn Bautista
It feels solid and has kept me dry so far- no complaints about that.
My previous umbrella got stolen a few months ago, which was annoying because I used it all the time. Went with black for the replacement and I'm happy with how it looks. It feels solid and has kept me dry so far- no complaints about that. The only thing I'm not keen on is how much room the folded umbrella takes up. It is compact compared with a long umbrella, but not something I'd call tiny. Still fits in my bag, just needs a bit more space than I'd hoped. Nothing wrong with how it works, so I'm keeping it.
Tiffany Compton
But over all, I'd recommend it.
The size is good for me, and I like opening and closing it with the button. When other people are wrestling theirs closed, one press folds my canopy. What I don't like is opening it again after that. First I have to push the shaft all the way back into the handle, and only then can I press to reopen it. Having that extra step is kind of inconvenient, especially when I just closed it. But over all, I'd recommend it.

This one is quite nice for the money.
I'm always looking at umbrellas, probably more than any person needs to. This one is quite nice for the money. The fabric has a substantial feel and the plain design suits my sons, who usually have something to say about my taste in umbrellas. That helped settle the choice. It has a sleeve, which I suspect will spend most of its life empty. (Getting an umbrella folded that neatly again is not one of my talents.) The button worked smoothly on its first outing, but one outing isn't much of a durability test. A useful umbrella to take along.
Derek Morse
Great for those wet, blustery days on campus.
Great for those wet, blustery days on campus. The button makes opening and folding the canopy easy, so I can feel superior to everyone wrestling with manual umbrellas.PROS:- Simple operation- Sturdy- PinkCONS:My imaginary career as a lightsaber master has suffered. Extending it means the canopy joins in too, so no elegant space-sword manoeuvres, and the folded version hasn't got much dramatic reach. A fairly ridiculous reason to withhold a star, but my priorities are my own.Overall, it keeps me dry and saves fiddling about, which is useful when the forecast has once again guessed wrong.
Jim Stafford
The finish is lovely and it feels solid in my hands.
The finish is lovely and it feels solid in my hands. It has handled rain and gusts without making me worry about the frame giving way.The folded length is worth checking before buying; it isn't one of those tiny umbrellas that disappears in a little bag. For me that's a fair trade for something that feels properly made. If your weather is often miserable and you want a dependable umbrella rather than the smallest possible one, I'd say it's worth spending a little extra.
Roberto Pierce
This has been a great umbrella!
This has been a great umbrella! It's comfortable to walk with, I only wish the canopy stretched a little further. Button opening is handy and it feels strong, even with a breeze. You can squeeze two underneath but it's not exactly roomy... on my own, I'm quite content with it. It was useful during the storm we had and I felt nicely sheltered. If your after something sturdy for one person, this is worth considering.
Darin Collier
Absolutely love it.
Absolutely love it. Took me a moment to figure out the button and how to pack it away, but once I understood it everything was easy. I'm keeping it out as a display piece for the moment, though I can imagine carrying it at my wedding someday. There's just something about having it open that makes me feel like a princess.

The first one I had came from a resale shop, still unused.
The first one I had came from a resale shop, still unused. After carrying it for a while I kept wondering why somebody had given it up. It felt so much nicer than I expected that I hung on to the label so I could find another online. That original umbrella gave me years of use before it was time for a replacement. This one has the same solid feel and the handy button action I remembered. For what I paid, I am very satisfied, and I would happily buy another when I need one.

My old large umbrella let me down in the San Francisco rain.
My old large umbrella let me down in the San Francisco rain. This one has felt much more reassuring to use and keeps me well covered when walking. I can hold it comfortably above my eyeline rather than peering around the edge to avoid people or poles. An excellent buy!
Claudia Brady
Seems sturdy so far as well.
Such a cheerful thing to carry when the weather is miserable. It gives my shoulders room away from the dripping edges, but doesn't have that oversized golf umbrella feel. Seems sturdy so far as well. I wanted decent coverage without something enormous, and this is just about right for me.
Leah Villa
My 9 year old daughter was thrilled with her Christmas umbrella.
My 9 year old daughter was thrilled with her Christmas umbrella. She loves green, so this was a hit straight away. It felt reasonably priced and arrived fairly quickly. I did worry when I saw the padded envelope, but the umbrella had been wrapped carefully inside and everything looked fine when we opened it. Happy girl here :)
Raven Contreras
At this price the construction seems pretty good to me.
At this price the construction seems pretty good to me. My problem with little folding umbrellas is usually how little of you they actually cover, especially with a backpack on. This one gives me a decent amount of room without being awkward to take along. It has also felt steady in a bit of breeze, which is reassuring. The loop handle is comfortable enough in my hand. I'm curious how it will feel after longer use, but so far there's nothing to complain about.
Neil Russo
Beige!
Beige! Not a colour that thrills everybody, I know. (We've got two teenage boys, drive 4x4s, and have spent years doing outdoorsy/camping things.)There's decent room underneath and it feels sturdy enough for the rain. And - hey presto - I blend into the scenery under it. (in my imagination)
Carla Smith
With this one I'm happy to head out when the rain and breeze arrive.
This feels like a proper, well made umbrella rather than something flimsy. The frame has a reassuring firmness to it. My previous one got caught in a car door, which is why I needed a replacement. That was my fault, not the umbrella's. With this one I'm happy to head out when the rain and breeze arrive.
Dwayne Benjamin
Packs away easily enough to take along.
I don't really want to argue with everyone who has a different opinion about what makes an umbrella good. There is a lot of judging without saying what you actually needed it for. Some people want a large shelter in bad weather and some want something they can put in a bag. those are not exactly the same thing, so I think comments about the design and how it is being used are more useful than just saying it isn't good.I read through the comments before choosing this one. I've been carrying it for several weeks in the Texas sun, mainly as a sun umbrella, and having my own patch of shade is a big improvement. it's enough room for me, not something I expected to cover a whole group. The shade underneath feels pleasant and makes being out walking much more comfortable. I take care with how I hold it when there is wind, rather than expecting it to look after itself. Packs away easily enough to take along. if you want a much larger shelter there are bigger umbrellas, but this size is what I wanted.

Replacement found = happy parent!
We had one of these for my son already, but it stayed behind in a shopping cart and never came back to us. I wanted another like it rather than something different, so was glad to find this. It arrived when expected and was packed well. He has his umbrella again. Replacement found = happy parent!
Fernando Hoover
Overall it seems sturdy and put together well.
Compact enough to carry without much bother. One press puts it up and another brings the canopy down, then you shorten the shaft by hand. That part needs a push. I never manage to wrap the fabric as neatly as it arrived, but that happens with every umbrella I own. Overall it seems sturdy and put together well.
Wendy Munoz
It gives me comfortable coverage on my own.
I've been carrying this for around a year and it's earned its place in my bag. No obvious wear so far. Northern California isn't exactly the toughest testing ground for an umbrella, but we have had some blustery rain and this one coped without turning inside out.It gives me comfortable coverage on my own. Two people can squeeze under, provided neither expects their outside arm to stay completely dry.Overall I'm delighted with it. The button makes getting it up quick, and pressing it again gathers the canopy before I push the shaft down. It folds away, though it isn't the tiniest thing to carry. For me that trade off is fine.
Miguel Nixon
Did a very good job during the recent downpours.
Did a very good job during the recent downpours. I've kept a star back for the business of carrying it after the rain stops. The sleeve is fine for storing it dry, but I don't particularly want a wet umbrella tucked into it and then put in my handbag. If I leave the sleeve at home or in the car, I still have the damp umbrella to carry about afterwards. Not a fault, just something that makes it less convenient for me when the weather keeps changing. For the actual purpose of keeping rain off, though, I can't find anything to complain about.
Roberto Olsen
I would recommend it, five stars from me.
The blue umbrella was in good shape when it arrived, and I ended up needing it the following day. It was raining and windy, so I hesitated before taking a new umbrella straight out into that. Glad I did, because it felt much sturdier in use than I had expected. Underneath there are ribs everywhere, it looks very well supported rather than just a few thin bars holding cloth up. I can see myself getting another one of these. You can find cheaper umbrellas, but I think the extra is reasonable for how this feels. I would recommend it, five stars from me.
Dana Cherry
Small details are what make this one pleasant to use.
Small details are what make this one pleasant to use. I can open it with a button instead of hunting for a catch -- much less fiddly. Another press folds the canopy, and I push the shaft back down myself. The many flexible ribs give it a nicely supported shape without feeling rigid in a breeze. The green is pleasant too. For once I've actually kept the sleeve, although getting the fabric tidy enough to slide it in needs a minute. The oval handle is comfortable in my hand. Nothing dramatic, just an everyday thing made a bit easier.
Jasmine Day
With a bit of space around me, it's a lovely umbrella.
My shoulders stay covered without having to hold this at a funny angle, which makes it a pleasure to use. I still watch where the edges are on a crowded pavement; even a folding umbrella can get in everyone's way. With a bit of space around me, it's a lovely umbrella.
Emma Heath
It's that good.
This is my second one, and not because the first wore out. I managed to leave it on a plane and never got it back. I was annoyed enough to replace it the very next day. It's that good. Feels worth far more than I paid, and I honestly wouldn't mind paying extra for this quality. I've even had women stop and comment on how nice it looks...I'm serious. Losing it was frustrating, but going back for the same umbrella was an easy decision.
Victoria Rocha
Its a sturdy little thing.
Walking to work is just part of my day, not some expedition. It does get blustery on that route though, and I'd got tired of having to think about whether my umbrella would cope. Decided to try this one and after a year it's still looking good. Its a sturdy little thing. I've carried it through plenty of windy rain and havent had it turn on me. Of course, once the weather gets really wild, hanging onto any umbrella starts to feel like a workout and you do wonder why you're using one. Anyway, for the ordinary wet and windy walk to the office this has done what I wanted. Nothing fancy needed, just something that holds up. Can't find anything to grumble about.
