I can't remember the exact price but it wasn't much, and i've been happy with it. The blue looks nice and there's enough cover that my shoulders aren't hanging out in the rain. Fabric feels substantial too. Never really shopped properly for an umbrella before, so i wasn't sure what a lower priced one would be like. This seems worth the money. It would be more like four and a half stars if I could choose, simply because the stem looks thinner than i expected. It hasn't caused any trouble though, and in the light wind I've used it in everything has stayed steady. Hoping it keeps going for a long time.

For actual use in the rain, I'm impressed.
The price made me hesitate, even with the appeal of a compact umbrella and the button operation. A few rainy, breezy days in Seattle have left me very happy with the decision. It feels controlled in my hand rather than something I'm constantly fighting to keep over me, and gives me a decent amount of cover. I've gone through plenty of folding umbrellas that soon became more trouble than they were worth. This one feels much more substantial, and I'm hoping for a long useful life from it.One note: compact isn't the same as tiny. Folded, it's about 40cm long and still shows above the top of my backpack. That isn't a problem for me, but I'd measure the space in your bag if having it completely tucked away is important. For actual use in the rain, I'm impressed.

Lovely green and useful too.
Lovely green and useful too. Down here at the tip of Texas we get wind that makes flimsy umbrellas frustrating, but this one has coped well for me. The closed loop handle is my favorite part. I can clip it to my backpack when it's packed away, instead of trying to hang an open hook over my arm.

Nice!
I wasn't expecting much at this price, so finding a decent umbrella was a nice surprise! It reached us earlier than I thought it would, which was welcome with all the rain we've been having in San Francisco. My husband and I were both pleased to have it ready for the next wet day. Nice!It doesn't take up much room folded, but there's enough space underneath for me to hold our baby without getting soaked. Can't say yet how it'll stand up over a long time, but right now I'm really glad we bought it!

Something practical that also looks nice for once.
Shopping in person wears me out, and somehow I still come home without what I wanted. Finding this was a relief, especially at this price. I've had two umbrellas stolen already! Apparently someone else liked them too. This one won't be left lying around. It is a useful size when open but packs away neatly, and the opening action is nice and easy. I like the cream white, a cheerful change from plain black. Something practical that also looks nice for once. I'm rather fond of it already and intend to hang onto this one.

Have used it all summer - a really handy size for shade!
Have used it all summer - a really handy size for shade! Getting the shaft shortened takes a little effort, so sometimes I leave it standing open rather than putting it straight back in my computer bag. It has coped with being carried about far better than I expected. Really like it - tempted to get another green one!

I'm borrowing my husband's account to write this!
My six year old daughter has been so excited about her new blue umbrella. It looks cute without being too babyish, which is what I was hoping for. The button makes it so simple to pop up and fold the canopy again! She still has me push the stem in afterwards but that's fine. Lovely umbrella (We are military living overseas so the wait to get it was a long one. I'm borrowing my husband's account to write this!)

At last, one that feels properly made.
At last, one that feels properly made. I wasn't sure a folding umbrella would give the cover i wanted, but open it up and it is a useful size. I keep it in the car so my wife and I have something when we're out and the rain starts. We stay close together if sharing, it isn't a giant umbrella, but it's much more practical to take along than a long one. Solid feel without being a nuisance to carry. Very happy with this buy!

An excellent umbrella overall.
An excellent umbrella overall. Press the button and it's up straight away, very simple. Packing it right down is the awkward part for me. The canopy shuts at a press, but the shaft needs a firm push in by hand, which isn't much fun when you're rushing. Fine if you've got time. That's my reason for four rather than five stars, otherwise I have no complaints.
Tina Baxter
Little details make a difference with an umbrella.
Little details make a difference with an umbrella. This one opens with a smooth movement rather than that alarming lurch -- much nicer when someone is beside you. A second press brings the canopy down, so there is no fiddling near the ribs with your fingers. The shaft does still need a firm push to shorten it, which is the only part I find less effortless. The pink is a pleasant colour. I've even kept the sleeve this time because it is useful and not a struggle to get on. A fairly ordinary thing made much nicer to use.

The pink canopy with black underneath looks lovely too.
Walking around the city, I appreciate an umbrella that doesn't hog the pavement but still feels steady in a gust. The pink canopy with black underneath looks lovely too. Haven't noticed many like it around here, which makes a nice change from the usual umbrellas.
Meagan Eaton
It folds away neatly as well.
This feels like a proper umbrella rather than one of those flimsy things you carry just in case (and then regret!). The loop handle gives me a comfortable grip and the opening action is smooth. It folds away neatly as well. The flexible ribs seem quite tough without feeling rigid, so I'm hoping it will cope nicely when I get caught out in windy rain.
Janet Merritt
It's not an enormous umbrella, and that's why I wanted it.
Maybe this will help shelter a football fan's feelings, because my team seems headed for the sort of season where the losses reach double figures. It's not an enormous umbrella, and that's why I wanted it. Folded, it fits in my book bag nicely. Opened up, it gives one person enough room. If a second person tried to squeeze in, I think we'd be bumping feet and stumbling along trying to stay under it. ...which would look a lot like my team's efforts on the field this season.I would get another of these if mine went missing or somebody took it. Saying I'd spend the money again is about the best recommendation I can give. And yes, despite all that, I'm still a fan.

Shopping in the rain is so much less awkward with this umbrella.
Shopping in the rain is so much less awkward with this umbrella. I can carry my purse. shopping bags, and still press the button to put it up when I leave a store. Another press pulls the canopy shut before I go inside. I push the shaft back down by hand afterwards, easy enough once I set the bags down. Brilliant. The frame feels substantial too, rather than something flimsy that needs fussing over. It has made all that going in and out of stores a lot easier for me.
Abigail Solis
This one looks very smart and the button action is lovely and smooth.
Here in California we finally got some rain we badly needed, which reminded me that my old umbrella needed replacing. This one looks very smart and the button action is lovely and smooth. I settled on beige after looking through the colours for ages. A stylish little umbrella that feels made to last, and I'm delighted with my choice!
Luke Matthews
This has been a good fit for that.
I was replacing a larger umbrella and wanted something that still gave decent coverage without being so awkward to carry. This has been a good fit for that. There's room for two if we stand close, and it has felt solid on the windy days we've had it out. The overall finish seems good and nothing feels flimsy. My one reservation is the closed loop handle, which feels different from the grip I was used to. It took a few outings to find a comfortable hold, but now I hardly think about it. I may buy another to leave at work so I don't have to remember to bring this one.
Karina Luna
The construction is very good considering the price.
The construction is very good considering the price. A lot of compact umbrellas feel flimsy to me and don't cover your shoulders properly. This one has enough room over me and my backpack, so I think it would be useful for students as well. It has felt steady in the light winds I've had it out in. The handle is comfortable, though I can't really judge how it will wear after constant use. Nothing has given me any reason to worry about that yet.

bought a pair for the blue themed umbrella pictures at our wedding.
bought a pair for the blue themed umbrella pictures at our wedding. if you're mixing a few shades of blue, these work nicely. the colour is a little softer than it looked on my screen...not exactly what i pictured, but alongside the other blues it all came together well. happy with them.

It is not too heavy and the button makes getting it open very simple.
There is enough cover here for me and a child beside me if we stay close, without having a great big umbrella to carry about. It is not too heavy and the button makes getting it open very simple. The gray color is pleasant without being too showy, which suits me for everyday use. It is a good size for a parent who has a small child and need a bit of cover for both on rainy walks. The material and frame seem good quality and I like that I can also use it to make some shade. A useful size when open but not such a nuisance once folded. Overall I am very satisfied with the coverage and how well it is put together.
Jeremy Burch
haven't tried it in much wind yet.
nice fabric. lovely gray. covers me well. not too weighty. there is room to share if we stand close together. I will mostly be using this for shade. it folds down but still needs a decent sized bag(not a tiny purse). the sleeve is useful for putting it away. handle is a closed loop, a little different from what i usually have. haven't tried it in much wind yet. will come back and say more once its had a chance with the weather.
Kyle Cooper
I absolutely love having this umbrella.
I absolutely love having this umbrella. It is one of those purchases that I am glad I made and would tell anyone about. I do wish it stood a little taller when open, but for travelling and putting away in a small space it is excellent. The black looks really nice. There is a bit more weight than I expected from a folding umbrella, though it feels solid rather than cheap. Still a great umbrella and I am delighted with it.

An umbrella isn't going to leave every bit of you dry.
Arrived when expected and was what I was looking for. The slip-on sleeve is handy, and it fits nicely in the door of my car. Feels like something I can rely on. I haven't tested it in any really severe weather so can't say much there. In regular wind and steady rain, though, it has held up fine. An umbrella isn't going to leave every bit of you dry. It just means you get a lot less wet. Once the other one I have wears out, I'd buy another of these.
Brooke Waters
My one niggle is packing it away.
The cream white looks very nice, even if this isn't quite the same as the umbrella I lost. I find the size useful when it's up and manageable when folded. My one niggle is packing it away. The button brings the canopy in, but pressing the telescoping shaft all the way in takes more strength than I'd like. It does lock once I've pushed it firmly. Perhaps that will get easier with use.
Kirsten Hicks
My 12yo daughter was delighted with this umbrella.
My 12yo daughter was delighted with this umbrella. It's a useful size for her and she doesn't mind carrying it about all day. BUT, her friend had a go at twirling it around in the wind and that made me a bit nervous. It isn't something I'd encourage them to play with like that. Note: The fabric was NOT damaged afterwards, which was reassuring, but I wouldn't take that as a reason to be rough with it.So, for the money, I think it's a nice umbrella for normal use. I'd rather have a little more room when we both squeeze underneath, although on her own she has plenty. She likes it, and we've agreed it needs looking after rather than being used as a toy.

We ordered a few in case rain showed up on our wedding day.
We ordered a few in case rain showed up on our wedding day. Our reception was in an outdoor tent, with the inn just a walk away, and I wanted our guests and ourselves to have something to use between the two. When they came I was pleased with the blue, which looked lovely and didn't feel out of place for the occasion. As it happened the day stayed dry, so all that preparation wasn't needed! I kept one for myself anyway because I liked it. It opens into a useful amount of cover without being a huge thing to carry about. I'd happily recommend having these ready for a small wedding, and the one I kept is handy for ordinary rainy days too!

Just put in my order for this pretty folding umbrella!
Just put in my order for this pretty folding umbrella! although it is not in my hands yet, I have a very good feeling about it! the people reviewing it seem very HAPPY with theirs, so I am confident to try. For an umbrella I will enjoy carrying, I do not feel the price is too much. now waiting to use it!
Jacqueline Owen
Very happy with the umbrella itself.
The umbrellas I've bought in local shops haven't impressed me much, so this feels like a welcome change. It seems sturdy and has coped well with windy, wet days. Gives me good cover, tho an open umbrella still takes up room. Getting into the car and putting it away without catching any rain is still a bit of a juggle. Very happy with the umbrella itself.

This umbrella has been a real relief.
Being fair skinned, I have always had to think about sun protection. I bought this umbrella after finding that an ingredient I'm allergic to was turning up in more of the creams I used. Homosalate, in my case. Even some of the sensitive skin and baby ones weren't options any more. Then there's all the reading about ingredients, which leaves me worrying about what to try next. It gets exhausting. I want protection from the sun, but being hot and sticky with lotion on, then getting a rash anyway, is pretty miserable.
This umbrella has been a real relief. Sturdy, and useful in ordinary rain as well as sunshine, so it isn't something I carry for just one purpose. There's a good amount of shade when it's open despite it folding down. Having that shade with me made the summer much more comfortable. I can actually enjoy being outside instead of constantly looking for somewhere to get out of the direct sun. That matters a lot to me.
Cons? It's compact, but not so tiny or light that I forget it's in my bag. A shoulder strap on the sleeve would be useful when I'm carrying it around closed. The loop handle gives me somewhere to hold it, obviously, but sometimes I'd rather have both hands free. Someone looking for a really tiny umbrella might find it more than they want to carry. For me that's a small inconvenience compared with having shade available without putting another cream on already irritated skin.
Tamara Holden
As shade, it's been really useful.
I've seen the comments calling these flimsy and I don't quite agree. A frame that can flex isn't necessarily a weak frame. Mine has some spring in the ribs (not sure that's the proper description), but it doesn't feel as though it's coming apart. I've had mine for years and it has had plenty of outings, so that's what I'm basing my opinion on, not just opening it once indoors. As shade, it's been really useful. Being underneath the canopy feels much more comfortable than standing in direct sun. I have a hard time with heat and this lets me take my hat off for a bit, with some air around my head. On the trail, or sitting in our kayak, that little patch of shade makes a difference. I wouldn't say it makes going out in any heat a good idea, just that I appreciate having it when I do go out.I leave it in the car, because an umbrella at home is no help when I need it somewhere else.

Has used it now and is happy with the coverage...
There is a LOT more room under this than I pictured, which is nice. the handle isn't quite the feel I would have picked, but it seems solid enough. My daughter lives in a busy city, so I wanted something she could carry about without having a great long umbrella to deal with. She was keen to try it...almost wishing for rain. Has used it now and is happy with the coverage...kept her dry without being a nuisance to carry around the city. It also dealt well with a breezy day. A good choice overall.

Nice umbrella - I received it as a game prize.
Nice umbrella - I received it as a game prize.
Delivery took twelve days.
There is a carry sleeve with it.
The build feels good, it opens by button and the canopy closes that way too. The shaft goes back by hand. Sturdy ribs as well.
Still need to learn to wrap all the folds neatly, mine looks untidy when I've finished.
Happy to recommend it!
Dave Moses
very happy with this umbrella and the price!
very happy with this umbrella and the price! opens out nice and wide, and there's a sleeve for putting it away. (I usually leave that off but it's handy to have). folded up it takes less room in the closet than my long umbrellas, and nothing gets caught when I put the sleeve on (if you bother using it)

My sister liked mine so much that it ended up with her, which meant getting another for myself. It gives good cover when the rain is coming in at an angle, and people do notice it. Once you're used to a decent umbrella it's hard to settle for a flimsy one. Folded up, it still takes a bit of space, but at least it isn't a long stick to carry everywhere. The one I gave her had a year's use and was still looking remarkably fresh.

WONDERFUL FOR SHADE.
WONDERFUL FOR SHADE. Here in Nevada the sunlight can feel like somebody has aimed a GIANT spotlight straight at you (not the gentle sort either)!! I take this umbrella from my apartment to the car, then put it up again for the walk at the other end. Those short stretches out in the open are much more comfortable now. I was very ill after too much sun as a teenager, and have been wary of it ever since. Many sunscreens bother my skin as well, so having shade I can carry matters a great deal to me. It opens quickly, and I don't feel I have to wrestle with it every time I go outside. VERY GLAD I PURCHASED IT.
Louis Bray
Being in a suit makes that bit of shade very welcome in summer.
The fabric has a nice solid feel to it and the umbrella has been excellent! I use it for the walk between the subway and work when the sun is out. Being in a suit makes that bit of shade very welcome in summer. It opens wide enough to shade my shoulders as well, rather than just my head, which is what I wanted.
Albert Simon
Smart looking umbrella.
Smart looking umbrella. A useful middle size, easy to leave in the car for rain that catches you out. There is room to share at a pinch (with that pretty lady caught without hers). Not huge, so two people have to stay close. A lot nicer looking than the loud golfing sort. Worth buying.
Travis Barrera
I would certainly recommend this umbrella.
I wasn't sure at first whether this was just for shade, but it is useful in the rain as well. It seems solidly put together and the design is very nice. The loop handle is comfortable, and it comes with a useful sleeve to carry it in. Opening it with the button is easy too. I would certainly recommend this umbrella. Lovely.
Garrett Hernandez
The umbrella seems well finished and opening it is easy.
I picked blue. Its a pleasant color, not so bright that it shouts at you. The umbrella seems well finished and opening it is easy. The button also brings the canopy down neatly; you still shorten the shaft yourself afterwards, but I don't find that a fuss. I've only had it out in fairly ordinary wet weather with a bit of breeze, nothing I'd call a major storm, and it has been fine. A little more width would be nice, though I'm not taking a star away for that. To me this is a one person umbrella. I can walk with my purse comfortably covered, but trying to share would mean somebody's shoulder sticking out. Happy with it for my own use.
Ana Schultz
Keeps me dry.
Keeps me dry. The automatic opening and canopy closing make doorways much less of a fiddle. Folded, it slips into a backback or a fairly large bag without taking over. Opened out, there's more room underneath than the folded size suggests, enough for two of us if we stand close together.
Judith Alvarado

Feels like a quality umbrella and it's already done well through a couple of storms. Folds down neatly considering the coverage, although my work bag hasn't quite got room for it. I think of it more as one to leave on the back seat or by the coats, rather than a tiny umbrella for travelling light.
Natasha Collins
We can use it for shade as well.
My son is 3 and I got this for him, honestly it's been a wonderful buy. A few days ago we had loads of rain and he wandered all round the backyard under it, enjoying himself in the downpour. We can use it for shade as well. He loves having his own umbrella and is always eager to take it out.
Tracey Malone
I got these in cream white and they look lovely.
I got these in cream white and they look lovely. The oval loop handle is a nice detail, and comfortable to hold too. They've got a smarter look than the price might suggest, nothing flimsy about them. Its a handy size once folded and the whole thing looks nicely finished. Happy with my choice overall.
Michaela Melendez
This is more my just in case umbrella and for that its been good.
The plain green looks nice and doesn't stand out too much which is what i wanted . It's straightforward to use and folds up small enough that I can keep it in my bag without having to arrange everything around it. I don't like deciding every time I go for a walk whether an umbrella is worth taking, so leaving this one in there works for me. If its wet before I even leave I still reach for a larger umbrella, just because I prefer more coverage when I'm going to be out in it for a while. This is more my just in case umbrella and for that its been good. Enough to keep me mostly dry getting back home or across to the car. Not the same coverage as a big one but much more convenient to have along, and the opening button has been handy too.
Terry Mercado
They look very smart.
Ordered ten for the office so our Board of Directors would have umbrellas for wet visits around Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. They look very smart. Easy for each person to carry and the coverage is good without having a huge umbrella to deal with. They've made a good impression, and now I'm thinking I should get one to keep at home.
Donald Cooley
This one feels much less fussy.
The open land around my campus means there always seems to be a breeze, especially when you're trying to get somewhere in the rain. With a cheap umbrella I used to spend the whole walk worrying about which way I was holding it. This one feels much less fussy. I still angle it into the weather, obviously, but I'm not constantly expecting it to turn over. The quick button opening is handy between buildings, too, and a press gathers the canopy when I'm done.Overall it's been a worthwhile step up for something I have to carry around campus.

My daughter needed an umbrella to shelter both herself and the teaching things she carries, so this was her gift. She's delighted with the coverage and especially likes being able to fold it down for her teaching bag. It doesn't have to be carried separately all day, and she can leave it packed ready for a rainy morning.
Paul White
This one turned out lovely though!
Ordering an umbrella without trying it first made me hesitate; you can't check the feel or the button online... This one turned out lovely though! A really pretty blue and it opens smoothly. The handle is interesting as well, an enclosed oval rather than a hook. Hard to judge the feel from photos, but I find it nice to hold.
Summer Gross
It folds into a fairly slim shape for carrying.
Several rainy, blustery days in Chicago have given me a chance to use this properly, and I've had no trouble keeping it where I want it. Opening is quick, and putting it away afterwards is straightforward too. It folds into a fairly slim shape for carrying. Now, it's still a decent-sized umbrella when open, so don't expect a tiny little cover. I'm around 6'1" and the shelter works well for me when I've got my backpack on. That's a useful balance between coverage and carrying size in my opinion. Someone who only wants the smallest thing possible might feel differently. I chose one for me and one for my brother, and I'm happy enough that I'd replace either with the same umbrella if we lost them.
Jeanette Forbes
COMPACT and reassuringly solid.
COMPACT and reassuringly solid. Only used it four times so far, but the button closing the canopy is handy when I'm getting into a car with other things to carry. I still push the telescoping part in afterwards. Took it along on a business trip when rain was forecast. I normally pack as little as possible, but this fitted beside my laptop in the work bag - INSIDE the bag - so leaving it behind made no sense. Not a tiny pocket umbrella, just a sensible size that feels substantial to hold.
Mercedes Jenkins
I'm impressed with this umbrella!
I'm impressed with this umbrella! I used to dread a gust because my old ones would flip so easily. This one has got me through some thoroughly wet, windy days with no trouble, and it dries off quickly afterwards. Now everyone else at home wants to borrow it, so another one may be the only way to have mine available. Packed in its sleeve, it fits in my bag, which is much handier than juggling an umbrella along with all the other things I carry.
