I went through quite a few comments before deciding, and six months or so of using it has made me a bit less excited than at the beginning . Still, it is a decent umbrella, sturdy enough for what I do and the Cream White is nice looking . The grip sits comfortably in my palm . Having no long handle sticking out is something I appreciate, because my bag already has too much stuff inside and I don't need another thing pushing against its sides, lol . Folded it is not tiny though, that was probably where my expectation was a little too high . The oval loop is useful when my hands are occupied with other things on a wet day . A small detail until you actually need somewhere secure to hold on, then it matters quite a lot . My favourite part is the button when I am trying to get everything gathered up quickly . Pressing it brings the canopy in, then I push the shaft back myself, so there is still that little job before packing . But much less wet fabric to argue with !! I can gather it fairly neatly and put the sleeve on without starting all over again . Wet or dry, I prefer having it contained rather than loose among my things . It doesn't make packing instant, just less annoying, which is enough for me . So yes, satisfied overall, even if the folded size was a small surprise . For the money it seems reasonable, tidy looking and solid enough for ordinary rain around town . When a stronger breeze catches it I still turn into the breeze, old umbrella habits I suppose :-) I am not looking to find its limit, only to arrive reasonably dry . It does that for me :-) .

We have been pleased with it.
For anyone wanting an umbrella that feels well made without looking plain, this is a good choice. The pink is attractive and there is plenty of cover for me. It opens smartly at a press, which is handy. A little more substantial folded than the tiny ones, but that is a small trade off. We have been pleased with it.

For shade on normal days I would certainly recommend it.
I mainly wanted this for shade in the southwest sun, and it has been very useful for that. Having it overhead makes standing around outside much more comfortable. I took it along on our theme park trip, where you spend so much time waiting in lines with very little shade available. It made those waits easier to bear. Quick to open, simple to pack away, and not awkward to carry around all day.The one reservation is wind. A strong gust can make it harder to keep steady, so I wouldn't treat it as something for every weather situation. For shade on normal days I would certainly recommend it.
Victor Tapia
I'd happily recommend it for everyday use.
I was looking for a full sized umbrella but kept finding compacts. Came across this one while browsing one evening and the simple design won me over. It looks really smart! Open, it gives more cover than I expected from something that folds away. I don't miss having a full length one nearly as much as I thought I would. The construction feels good, despite a few comments I'd read that made me hesitate. I think you need a little sense with any umbrella in windy weather rather than expect it to do everything for you. Mine looked neat and felt solid from the start. I'd happily recommend it for everyday use.

This one is earning its place.
My black umbrella has apparently decided that being sensible doesn't mean being boring. Yes, it costs more than the flimsy ones and there's a bit of weight to it. I'll take that. The frame feels substantial, the button saves the usual wrestling match, and it looks rather grand for something that lives in a bag. Fellow commuters have actually admired it, which is not a sentence I expected to write about rain equipment. Meanwhile the cheap umbrellas I've owned mostly seemed keen to retire. This one is earning its place. If you're debating yet another disposable-feeling purchase, maybe give yourself the decent umbrella instead. You're allowed nice things, even when the nice thing is keeping water off your head. Just resist giving it a heroic name and introducing it to strangers. There are limits.
Manuel Acevedo
I'd recommend for the money, mostly because he was so pleased with it!
Actually quite a sweet looking umbrella, although it doesn't feel especially hefty. Bought for my nephew at Xmas because he wanted one of his own. He was delighted, but he's all boy so we'll see how gently it gets treated!I'd recommend for the money, mostly because he was so pleased with it!

Not really a roomy couple's umbrella.
Its nicely made and i like holding it by the oval loop. Thought there would be a bit more room for two though. For me alone it gives plenty of cover, but sharing with your other half means standing really close together. Not really a roomy couple's umbrella. Apart from that I think its very good.

A useful compact umbrella with automatic opening AND canopy closing.
A useful compact umbrella with automatic opening AND canopy closing. The shaft feels substantial and the ribs have some give to them, rather than feeling brittle. In the windy rain I've used it in, that has made it feel reassuring to hold. It's not the tiniest or lightest folding umbrella available, but I find it perfectly practical in a backpack or briefcase. The handle is an oval loop, which feels secure in my hand. Closing needs a little explanation: the button draws the canopy together, then you push the telescoping shaft down yourself before putting it away. That part takes a bit of pressure. The button also needs a deliberate press, so someone with a weak grip might find it less convenient. Personally I appreciate that it isn't easily pressed by mistake. Overall I'm very satisfied.

The price I paid made these a really good deal.
The price I paid made these a really good deal. I wanted three umbrellas without spending a fortune, and these seemed worth a try. They look well put together and feel dependable so far. Even if I just get normal everyday use out of them, how much more can I ask at that price? I'd certainly buy more. Probably as gifts next time.

Handy size for travel or leaving in a bag, though it's not one of those tiny pocket umbrellas. My walk to work in Boston calls for a bigger canopy, especially with a bag to keep dry. This covers me fine in normal rain and is much easier to pack than a long umbrella.4 stars as something to take along just in case, not my first pick for the daily walk
Melvin Rasmussen
For carrying on your own it works well enough.
It keeps the rain off fine but it isnt the big umbrella I had in mind. More a one person size...not something I'd pick for sharing on a golf course. Two adults would have to crowd together and probably still get wet. For carrying on your own it works well enough.

Pink is pretty much my husband's entire colour palette.
Pink is pretty much my husband's entire colour palette. For our usual California winter rain this has been just right. We don't get much really wild weather, so I can't speak for that. He likes being able to press a button and get on with things, without any fuss. A straightforward umbrella that earns its keep, and at this price I don't feel precious about it.

Was given this last week and the quality is very good.
Was given this last week and the quality is very good. It was well packed so everything looked nice when opened. The umbrella its self feels solid, not like a cheap throwaway one. Finding something that feels properly made isn't always easy, but this one does. Very good product.
Kent Duran
this one is worth keeping!
Enough room overhead that my shoulders don't get soaked... without feeling ridiculous walking along with it.The balance is just right. It's been solid through the rainy New York days I've had it out in.I'm done wasting money on flimsy umbrellas from street stalls... this one is worth keeping!
Sherri Dickson
It packs down so I can carry it along easily.
There is a reassuring amount of support in this umbrella and it has felt steady in the breezy weather I've used it in. The frame has some give , rather than feeling brittle, and the fabric sits neatly across the ribs. I have more confidence carrying this than the flimsy folding umbrellas I've had before. It packs down so I can carry it along easily. A friend tried mine and wanted one straight away after getting fed up with their own little umbrellas
Gregg Hammond
The black one has become the umbrella I reach for first.
The black one has become the umbrella I reach for first. I spent a while wondering whether I wanted to pay that much for an umbrella, but after using it I don't regret it. I bought it ahead of a very wet summer, so it wasn't sitting around waiting to be tested. On the windy days I've carried it, it has held its shape rather than folding over my head. There are 30 flexible ribs, which also give the open canopy a much nicer outline than I expected. I admit I've put it up for drizzle I could easily have walked through, partly because I enjoy how it looks. A few people have admired it too, so apparently it's not just me.
The thing worth considering is the folded size. It does telescope down, but it still takes up more room than the tiny umbrellas people tuck into a small handbag. That isn't a problem for me; I attach the oval loop handle to my backpack strap instead. The closed loop is comfortable to hold, and I can change my grip when the rain comes at an angle. Having somewhere to hang it is useful too. At work I hang it from a peg while it dries during the day, then leave it folded beside my chair, out of everyone's way until it's time to head home.
For one person the coverage is about right. With two under it you need to stay very close, and even then I wouldn't count on both outside shoulders staying dry.
I'm glad I went ahead with it. I'd happily choose another if I lost this one, and would consider it a useful present as well.
Jeanne Bowman
No creaking from the frame when I open it either, which I appreciate.
Easier to carry than my old umbrella, and I get a much better grip on this handle. No creaking from the frame when I open it either, which I appreciate. The black underside looks neat, though it makes things a little darker overhead than I'm used to. That's a tiny tradeoff rather than a real complaint, especially considering how solid the rest of it feels for the price.
Mariah Mueller
This one's done that so far.
Sounds a funny thing to get excited about, but an umbrella that copes with wind without a fuss impresses me. This one's done that so far. The beige is a little different from the usual umbrellas around me, and I like that on gloomy days. Slightly bigger packed than my old one, still goes in my purse.
Rick Boyd
You also have to think about coverage.
The look is simple and quite traditional when it's open. The frame gives a sturdy impression, though folded it's still bulkier than the tiny umbrellas I usually carry. The oval handle doesn't give me an obvious way to stand it neatly in a corner, either. I'd like something just a little easier to set aside when there isn't an umbrella stand nearby. You also have to think about coverage. At about 105cm across, it gives one person useful room without being enormous, but I wouldn't choose it expecting two adults to stay comfortably dry together.
Kari Byrd
Afterwards it was easy to put away.
Mine arrived yesterday, and my first impression after taking it out of the packaging was that it looked quite well finished. The Cream White colour looks nice in person and the umbrella has a more substantial feel than I expected from a compact one. I also thought the sleeve was nicely made. It gives it a tidy appearance when everything is packed away, and is something I would actually use rather than leave in a drawer. The handle is a closed oval loop, which is a different shape from those I have had before, but it feels quite secure in my hand. The opening button is easy to reach and operates smoothly. I tried the opening and closing several times indoors. Pressing the button opens it fully, and another press folds the canopy in. You still need to shorten the telescoping stem yourself to pack it away. Once I had done that a couple of times it seemed quite straightforward. Nothing about it gave me the impression of a flimsy throwaway umbrella. Looking underneath, there are plenty of flexible ribs supporting the material, and the whole arrangement seems well put together. I cannot judge its long term durability yet, of course. Unfolded, it covers a surprisingly generous area considering how neatly it packs down. I could imagine two people getting some cover if necessary, although I would regard it as a comfortable umbrella for one. So far I feel I have made a good purchase and would be quite happy to choose it again. I have not had it out in bad weather yet, so that opinion is based on handling it and looking it over. Using it outside will tell me more than opening it in the house. Update: I have now had a chance to try it in light rain with a little breeze. It stayed steady while I used it and kept the rain off me, which was what I wanted to find out. I have not tested anything more severe, but for that ordinary rainy spell it worked very well. Afterwards it was easy to put away. A useful thing to keep nearby for the days when the weather changes.

Many folding umbrellas are disappointing when the weather becomes…
Many folding umbrellas are disappointing when the weather becomes blustery, but this one has performed well so far. The button-operated canopy closure is especially convenient when entering a vehicle in the rain. It reduces the time spent standing outside trying to gather the umbrella by hand.
Jill Hatfield
I hold it for shade as I walk between shots.
Well put together and simple to operate out on the golf course. I hold it for shade as I walk between shots. The frame gives a little when a gust catches it, which seems sensible. My old umbrella always made me nervous in wind, but this feels much more dependable.
Lynn Norman
She LOVED it, so I feel like I picked well!
Christmas shopping for my mother is hard because she has everything, and anything else she wants she buys herself. An umbrella seemed useful knowing how much she likes going out with her dogs. I thought at least this wouldn't sit in a cupboard. She LOVED it, so I feel like I picked well!

One is how useful a dimension is when choosing an umbrella.
After taking delivery this morning, I tried the button a few times and have no criticism of the mechanism. The canopy springs into place neatly and folds down again with another press; compressing the telescoping shaft afterwards needs a deliberate push, not a wrestling match. It looks perfectly respectable, too. As an umbrella, in the basic sense of a thing you stand under when it rains, it seems entirely competent.
Where I am slightly less enthusiastic is the amount of space left around me once I am standing under it. Before ordering, I laid out roughly 105cm on the floor with a tape measure and positioned myself in the centre. That suggested a fairly generous margin. With the actual umbrella overhead, the margin feels rather less generous. I checked the width and it is about what the description says, so this is not a case of being sent something smaller. My mistake was treating a measurement on the floor as a demonstration of how much dry walking space I would have.
There are two separate issues here, at least in my mind. One is how useful a dimension is when choosing an umbrella. An open diameter is certainly a more relevant number than its folded length, but even that cannot tell you exactly where the rain will land relative to your coat and shoes. I can appreciate the convenience of something compact without wanting compactness to become the entire point of the purchase. It is supposed to protect me from rain first, and be convenient to carry second (although, admittedly, an enormous umbrella left at home protects nobody).
The other issue is simply my feet. With my previous folding umbrella, an ordinary stride put the ends of my shoes beyond the shelter. A walk of about ten minutes to the subway could leave them wet enough to be uncomfortable afterwards. This one should give me a little more room, but I do not expect it to eliminate that problem unless I shorten my stride. That is a limitation rather than a fault, and probably says as much about my expectations as about the umbrella.
Short version: good operation, sensible size for carrying, less walking coverage than I had pictured. For substantially more shelter I should have chosen a larger umbrella, not expected a compact one to do both jobs. I will be keeping it; restarting the search sounds considerably less appealing than taking slightly smaller steps.
Emma Riley
This is a proper umbrella!
This is a proper umbrella! It looks nice and feels substantial. I've wasted enough money on cheep umbrellas that hardly seem worth opening. There's room to tuck a companion close beside me, or give my two children some shelter. It doesn't have that flimsy feeling I was tired of. I'd rather buy a decent one like this than keep replacing the thin ones and wishing I'd chosen something better.
Joann Blackwell
A nice gift overall, just not quite as refined as I'd pictured.
I chose this for my husband's birthday because I thought the loop handle was a bit different. He liked the look of it straight away and was almost hoping for rain. I do think the handle could feel a little nicer, and the sleeve is fairly basic. It makes me want to remind him not to be too rough when packing it away. We've since used it in the rain and it kept him dry, so no complaints there. A nice gift overall, just not quite as refined as I'd pictured.
Tonya Moody
Ordering it was a much easier option.
Where I live, finding this sort of umbrella means a long drive into the city, then the business of parking and looking around the nicer shops. Ordering it was a much easier option. It was a present for my sister and I was glad when I saw it in person. Not the cheapest thing - but it doesn't have that throwaway feel either. The frame seems substantial and the whole thing looks properly finished. It is the sort of thing I would consider getting for myself as well. I don't usually hand out 5-Stars when I haven't got something comparable to judge against. So this gets my 4-Stars and a definite YES. Whether you need a gift or just an umbrella for yourself, I think there's good value here. It made a better impression than I expected it to.
Glenn Turner
I have to say: I am very pleased with the decision.
Replacing flimsy umbrellas was getting tiresome, so I finally paid a little more for this one. I have to say: I am very pleased with the decision. It feels like a proper everyday umbrella rather than something disposable. The shaft feels substantial, and the flexible ribs have some give instead of feeling like they will snap at the first breeze. I am not expecting it to survive anything the weather can throw at it, but for my regular use it has been excellent. In the long run, I'd rather keep one decent umbrella than keep paying for replacements. It is a useful size as well. Open, there is enough coverage for me; folded, it is still practical to take along. The oval loop handle looks a little different and feels secure in my hand. I've had a few nice comments about the overall appearance, which is a bonus. Packing it away does take a firm push to shorten the shaft after the button has gathered the canopy. I just needed a little practice getting that last step done quickly. Nonetheless, I consider it money well spent.

Best folding umbrella I've had in a long while.
Best folding umbrella I've had in a long while. The button opens it straight out, another press shuts the canopy and I just shorten the shaft by hand afterwards. No complicated performance to pack it away, which I appreciate, having wrestled with some awkward umbrellas before. It's a decent size overhead without leaving me carrying a long stick around.I've used it in some heavy rain and breezy conditions and it's kept me nicely covered. The carry sleeve is fine and does fit, though honestly I'm unlikely to put it back in there after every use, so that isn't a major selling point for me. Much more interested in the umbrella itself doing a good job, and it does.Recommended!

Honestly it has been a pleasant surprise for me 😊❤️🩹
A generous size once opened and nicer than I expected, the button handles opening and drawing the canopy together very smoothly. To finish putting it away you push the stem in firmly until it clicks. I never get the folds looking quite as tidy as the first time, but that's hardly a worry. Honestly it has been a pleasant surprise for me 😊❤️🩹

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! This umbrella ~ We're going to use it in our wedding pictures ~ I'd read that getting it folded back up was tricky, but it wasn't for me. I noticed how it unfolded, so after closing the canopy with the button and pushing the shaft in by hand, wrapping it up was easy. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT~ Worth the money and couldn't be happier !

I was looking forward to giving this to my eight-year-old for her…
I was looking forward to giving this to my eight-year-old for her birthday. We get plenty of rain here and she wanted an umbrella that felt a little more grown up. The pink looked lovely out of the packet and she was pleased when she unwrapped it, so that part went well. What I hadn't really thought about was the weight and the effort needed to push the shaft back down after using the button (the canopy closes with it, not the whole thing). She can use it, but getting it packed away is more of a job for me than I expected. It keeps her dry, just not quite the easy little umbrella I had in mind!
Kristi Greene
I would recommend it.
Against the folding umbrellas I've used before, this seems a better combination of solid construction, ease of handling and useful size. The flexible ribs are a particular plus. I would recommend it.One point, a compact umbrella with this much support is not necessarily the lightest thing to carry, but I consider that a fair trade for a frame that doesn't feel frail when a breeze catches it (always an annoyance).
Riley Parker
its a proper umbrella and still looks SO nice for pictures.
the cream white is just what i wanted-- not a glaring white, more soft looking. looks really pretty. i was a bit all fingers with it at first, trying to pull it open before actually using the button. once i stopped doing that it was very straightforward, press to open, press again to bring the canopy down, then push the pole in yourself. it feels more substantial than a little decorative parasol, which is probably a good thing because i can use it in rain as well. its a proper umbrella and still looks SO nice for pictures. overall i am very happy and it it suits the pale look i wanted for my wedding photos in august in florida! can't wait!

Works as well as some much pricier umbrellas I've had.
Works as well as some much pricier umbrellas I've had. Good cover in proper rain, and useful to stand under on hot sunny days too. One star off for the sleeve, it's rather tight and makes getting it out more fiddly than it should be when you're rushing. Otherwise a good buy.
James Delgado
No trouble in the rain so far, and it feels quite solid in use.
I wasn't convinced by everything in the description... but after using it I have to say it's a very useful umbrella! The button saves a lot of fumbling, especially when there is rain and you're trying to catch the bus. There is a little learning to do though. Pressing it again pulls the canopy in, not the whole stick. That part you push down yourself, which I didn't understand straight away. Once you know this it is simple enough. I've been much more comfortable going round the windy street corners here than with my old umbrellas. No trouble in the rain so far, and it feels quite solid in use. Worth giving it a go.

Very cute and feels tougher than it looks (grown up here...mostly!)The oval handle took a little getting used to, I kept reaching for it like a hook. Button felt firm at first too [insert me fumbling with wet hair and running mascara] But after using it a few times its much easier. Still haven't abandoned it on the train! My daughter might inherit it when she's bigger, if I can part with it (big if..)
Roger Russell
Once open, it covers me and my bag nicely.
This is a handy size to keep in my bag, though not quite as tiny as I pictured. It's become the thing I take along when the forecast says it might rain. Once open, it covers me and my bag nicely. The handle takes a bit of getting used to, and I haven't tried it in heavy weather yet. It's been lovely in the light showers so far, with no trouble keeping dry, and hasn't been a bother to carry.
Brady Forbes
For something that folds away, the coverage is really generous.
More dependable in a breeze than the umbrellas I've had before. For something that folds away, the coverage is really generous. The rib ends and fabric joins look neatly finished and nothing feels loose. I expected to hang onto this one for a while. The push-button opening and closing of the canopy have rather spoiled me for ordinary umbrellas now.Update, a year and a half on: still going just as well. Mine stays tucked in the car door, not right down inside it, but secure enough that it doesn't wander about. I did lose one of these and replaced it with the same kind. No desire to keep shopping for umbrellas when this suits me so well.
Amber Waller
Not sure there is a great deal to review here.
Not sure there is a great deal to review here. Umbrella, isn't it? It gives me shade in summer and stops me getting soaked when it rains. There is a bit of bulk to carry, but the frame feels substantial rather than flimsy. It has coped with a few gusts without the usual umbrella drama, which is enough for me.
Kristin Ho
The push button opening is nice too :).
Feels light to carry but strong when it's up. Two friends and I were out in wet windy weather last night, their umbrellas struggled while this one did fine. The push button opening is nice too :). It is a little longer folded than some I had before and this gives me quite a different feeling.
Ariel Fields
This is such a pretty umbrella!
This is such a pretty umbrella! The finish looks carefully done rather than just thrown together. A quick press gets it open, and the canopy pulls in just as smoothly. Even the loop handle feels substantial and nicely finished. I'd happily give one to someone who likes an attractive umbrella that actually keeps the rain off.
Gabriela Chung
I'm probably missing something with that loop handle.
I'm probably missing something with that loop handle. Useful for hanging it up, certainly, but walking around holding a closed oval feels a little odd to me.Regardless, the umbrella works well and seems solid enough for regular use. It's mostly the sleeve I find fiddly. With nothing inside it lies flat, so getting the umbrella back in needs both hands and a bit of patience. Not terrible, just less convenient than I expected. I generally end up leaving the sleeve at home, because otherwise I have another small thing to keep track of. Still a good umbrella, despite my grumbling.
Javier Jones
Price was the main attraction for me and I'm glad I went for it.
Price was the main attraction for me and I'm glad I went for it. It opens out to a decent size and doesn't have that flimsy feeling I was half expecting for the money. Can't say what it'll be like years from now, but at this price I'm not going to complain. Would I buy another? Yes, probably more than one. They would make useful presents too.
Gerald Ramsey
Looks smart and works beautifully!
Looks smart and works beautifully! One warning though: apparently umbrellas this nice make people forget which one they brought. This is my third purchase because they keep disappearing when I put them down. Would love it if everyone bought their own instead of borrowing mine permanently. Being left in the rain is getting rather costly.
Maurice Hickman
Enough shade for me sitting on the beach.
Enough shade for me sitting on the beach. Walking along a narrow pavement takes a little care, especially with branches overhead. I also use it while pushing the baby's carriage, though it covers me rather than the whole carriage. A breeze means I have to grip it more firmly, but it has still had plenty of use and I do like it.
Adriana Frey
Kept me covered and didn't feel difficult to hold.
Just back indoors after a wet, blustery walk, and this umbrella did a good job. Kept me covered and didn't feel difficult to hold. It folds down enough to go in my purse and the button action is convenient.I should qualify the purse bit though, because mine is a large tote -- I wouldn't expect to slip this into a little handbag. It's compact compared with carrying a full length umbrella, not tiny once you have your other things in there.Recommended if your everyday bag has a reasonable amount of room.
Victoria Velasquez
I'd like some patterns as well as the plain pink though...
After getting one for my husband last year, I liked his so much that I ordered another for me!!The button makes opening and closing easy, the handle is comfortable to hold, and it feels well made for what it costs! It's light enough for us to carry daily and folds down nicely--we both leave one in our bags, ready if needed.I'd like some patterns as well as the plain pink though...

Bless the land of liberty and a decent umbrella.
Bless the land of liberty and a decent umbrella. This one offers sturdy shelter for the patriotic head, which seems a noble enough calling. Raise it proudly, but mind your colleagues - enthusiasm for freedom is no excuse to poke anybody. Even a glorious republic has rainy afternoons. I shall be exercising my right to remain dry.
Latasha Hamilton
Fair price, pleased with it.
Fair price, pleased with it. Not what I'd call heavy, although it feels more substantial than other folding umbrellas I've had. The ribs make a reassuringly solid frame. Folded up it looks a little untidy, but that isn't important to me. The useful thing is that it feels sturdy and gives a decent area of cover. Would recommend.
