I would recommend it.

I got mine for 4,500 won on offer, though by August 1st it had risen to 3,500 won. This is a good automatic umbrella I've purchased and used more than once. A little heavy and pushing the shaft back takes some strength, but adults can manage without trouble. Children can press it against the ground using their body weight. My earlier one is still going after more than a year, so I've bought another to keep ready if that one breaks. I would recommend it.

The girls like carrying their own and stay covered in the rain.

My girls are 10 and 6 and walk to school, so I got two umbrellas. Six weeks in and they seem nicely made, no fuss with opening them. The girls like carrying their own and stay covered in the rain. They just lift the front edge a little so they can see ahead while they're walking.

She jokes that she brings her own patch of shade with her.

My wife carries this constantly because the sun where we live is fierce. She jokes that she brings her own patch of shade with her. Standing under it instead of out in the sun makes a difference you can feel straight away. Pink was definitely the right choice! She likes that colour and is quite happy sticking with it. It has become one of those things she doesn't like going out without.

The important bit is that it does its job in the rain.

Agree with the comments on how solid it feelsThe folded umbrella does take up a bit more space than I'd expected; however, I can live with that. The important bit is that it does its job in the rain. Mine came through the wet days of a Boston winter nicely, and the frame still feels secure when I put it up. Not something I expect to squeeze into a tiny bag, just a good sturdy peice of kit for regular use.

I was shopping for one that did both opening and closing by button.

I was shopping for one that did both opening and closing by button. It does, in a way. Opening is easy, and pressing again folds the canopy, but the rest still needs doing by hand. I have to straighten the loose fabric around it and push the shaft down before putting it away. I had expected the whole thing to retract itself. Getting it wrapped snugly also needs more hand strength than I'd like. That matters when you're older or have limited strength in your hands. Still think it's a well made umbrella for the money, just not quite as hands-off as I imagined.

This has been a really useful umbrella for me.

This has been a really useful umbrella for me. Folded up it will go in my roomy purse or the storage space in my car door, and opened out I don't feel like I'm under a tiny umbrella. The sleeve is handy for putting it away. What I appreciate most is being able to press a button to open it. Getting out of the car with my purse and keys is enough of a juggling act without having to wrestle an umbrella open in the rain too. The black is a good, plain black and looks like it did on my screen. It seems solid enough that I'm hoping to keep using this one for a long time.

The size and operation match the description.

The size and operation match the description. My old 125cm umbrella was cumbersome to carry, but this roughly 105cm one feels much more manageable when open. To pack it away, the button collapses the canopy and then you press the telescoping stem completely in by hand until it catches. That leaves it properly reset.

There is a black underside beneath the pink canopy.

I spent quite a while reading up on umbrellas before deciding on this one. My skin is very fair so I try not to stand in direct sunshine more than necessary. I walk to work and, being a teacher, spend part of the day outdoors as well. It is comfortable to carry and I don't find it tiring to hold. The oval handle gives me something solid to grip, which I prefer to holding a thin little stick. I had read comments about closing these being difficult and was wondering how I would get on. After a few days of use I have found it straightforward. One press closes the canopy, then I hold the handle and push the telescoping section together until it clicks. It needs a bit of a push, but isn't the struggle I was expecting. There is a black underside beneath the pink canopy. Standing under it feels noticeably more comfortable than being out in the sun.Only had it a few days, but I am pleased with how it has worked for me.

Had this for almost a year.

Had this for almost a year. The blue is bright without being loud, and looks quite smart. There's good cover and it feels sturdy, but still packs into my bag. Press once to open, again to fold the canopy; you then push the telescoping part down by hand. I recently lost mine after leaving it out to dry (why on earth did I do that?). I'll be replacing it with another of the same.

The material feels good and it springs open smoothly.

I wanted something neat-looking and compact for walking around downtown, and this gray umbrella suits that perfectly. There's a sensible amount of coverage for one person without feeling like I'm taking up the whole sidewalk. The material feels good and it springs open smoothly. I wouldn't call it heavy-duty storm equipment, but I wasn't shopping for that (and would rather not be out in those conditions anyway). It has been out with me several times in rain and a bit of wind, with no trouble. For someone wanting a good-looking everyday umbrella that packs away reasonably small, I think this is a very good choice.

Shaun Briggs

He would happily have it open everywhere.

Our little boy asked for an umbrella at Christmas and we looked at about ten before choosing this. He is 3 and thinks having his own is wonderful. The gray is a nice simple colour and it opens to plenty of space over him when we walk together. We do help him with it, especially pressing it back down after closing, but he loves seeing it open. The only trouble is persuading him it doesn't need to be up inside the house as well as outdoors. He would happily have it open everywhere.

Really pleased!!

I don't miss my grandson's football games, so rain means a few hours sitting out there. This gives me plenty of room. Really pleased!! Seems sturdy so far, althou no windy days to try it in yet. Two can fit if you walk / stand right next to each other. I'd reccomend it. The green is bright & clear. Love this one!!

I actually don't mind seeing rain now.

I usually leave umbrellas alone. Just never thought they did enough to bother carrying one. This one has changed my mind a bit. I actually don't mind seeing rain now. In a crowd I still have to lift it over the little umbrellas to get through. There's some weight to it as well, and I mean that in a good way. It feels substantial.

Damon Ayers

The loop handle is handy as well.

Makes that sunny walk much nicer! I carry it for the several blocks between my office and the parking lot. Quick to open, and the sleeve goes on easily once it's folded. The loop handle is handy as well. Standing under it feels noticeably more comfortable than being out in the direct sun. Money well spent!

Kristina Mcintosh

Quick arrival.

Quick arrival. The umbrella feels well made, with plenty of flexible ribs supporting the canopy. It also opens wider than my other folding umbrellas, which is useful in the rain, and the automatic opening and canopy closing are a real plus. Highly recommended.

She wasn't keen to put it aside for anything else.

Of all the toys at her birthday party, our granddaughter latched onto the umbrella from us! Me and my hubby couldn't stop smiling watching her carry her new 'brella' around. She wasn't keen to put it aside for anything else. A little more than we'd planned to spend, but seeing how pleased she was made it completely worth it.

Meredith Moreno

The sleeve is handy as well!

Finding another gift for someone who already has just about everything isn't easy. I came across this umbrella while looking for something a little different and decided to try it. She was delighted, and it feels nicely made in person. The sleeve is handy as well! I am thinking of getting one for myself next.

The loop handle feels good to hold as well

More of a medium folding umbrella than a really tiny compact one. Goes in my shoulder bag or rucksack with a little sticking out the top. Spent quite a while looking for something like this, Seems steadier than others I've owned and there's a decent amount of cover. The loop handle feels good to hold as well

Bit combersome then.

I'm almost looking forward to wet days now, it's a good size when open and feels impressive for a folding umbrella. Only thing is when your hands are full and you're going into a building, the canopy closes with a press but pushing the stem down still needs another hand. Bit combersome then. Still, I like using it enough that it's worth that little bit of bother.

Richard Baird

arrived quickly too.

Quite decent. button needs a firm press, takes a little getting used to. it opens and folds the canopy, then you push the pole in. beige looks right against the pictures. arrived quickly too. not especially fancy, but reasonable quality for the money. would buy another.

Claire Mcguire

Good cover for me alone and room to share if standing close.

Good cover for me alone and room to share if standing close. only thing i wasn't sure about is the loop handle, useful to clip onto a bag but a different shape to hold. i thought that might be annoying after a while, though it has actually been comfortable and i'm pleased with the umbrella overall.

Folding it away has been straightforward too.

Bright light bothers me, so a lot of what I buy for going outside is about getting some relief from it. I had mostly thought in terms of clothing, and somehow hadn't considered carrying my own patch of shade with an umbrella. That has turned out to be very useful! I've taken this one out several times now, both when the sun was uncomfortable and when it was raining. It has done what I needed in either situation, and the ordinary gusts I've encountered haven't caused any trouble. The beige is a nice neutral colour that works with pretty much whatever I'm wearing. The umbrella feels solid when open, and the fabric and frame seem nicely put together. Folding it away has been straightforward too. I haven't used many umbrellas with this compact design, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I'd seen comments about needing a little more effort to put it away, and I can understand that to a small extent. After the button closes the canopy, the telescoping section needs pressing down manually until it catches. That takes a slightly firmer push than with my previous umbrella, but even with my fingers being arthritic quite often, I've managed it fine. Overall I'm very happy with how it feels, how it looks, and how useful it has been for both rain and shade. It's not particularly heavy to bring along, and once folded it goes in the bottom of my bag rather than being another thing I have to keep hold of. For something I hadn't really considered using outside of rainy weather before, it's been a very worthwhile purchase!

Carmen Hess

Pretty, but some compromises.

The looks were what won me over and I still think it's a very attractive umbrella. Having used it roughly once a week for about a month, I'm less keen on how it feels in my hand. The loop handle is a little awkward for me and the fabric feels thinner than I expected. I haven't had a problem keeping dry, but I find myself treating it more carefully than I'd like. The overall look is smart and I've had compliments on it, so there are things I enjoy. It covers my head and shoulders well, though I can't bring it down too low and still see where I'm going. Pretty, but some compromises.

Compared prices untill I was happy with what I was paying.

I looked at quite a few umbrellas on the internet before deciding. Compared prices untill I was happy with what I was paying. Mostly this will be for shade at outdoor events and when fishing. A bit more weight than I wanted, but it seems a useful purchase. Thanks.

Really cute and feels tough (I am grown up...mostly!)Only thing is I'd like a wrist strap, and the button took a bit of effort at first becuase it was stiff and new [Insert picture of my mascara streaks and drenched hair] A few goes later it's easier to open. Haven't left it on the train yet! Might pass it along to my daughter once she's bigger (possibly..)

Ralph Stuart

I think the photograph does justice to its appearance.

I think the photograph does justice to its appearance. In the hand, though, you appreciate the sturdy build, useful coverage and substantial handle. It feels like a proper addition to my wardrobe, not just something to grab in bad weather. All the compliments make going out in the rain rather more appealing.

Almost a year of using this and I still love it!

Almost a year of using this and I still love it! Shade was why I wanted an umbrella in the first place, but I've also had it out in rain and breezy weather without any fuss. It's nice to have a patch of shade that goes with you, and two of us can tuck in close. Took it back East for a lacrosse tournament in that heat and humidity and was glad every day that I packed it. Several people wanted to know where I'd found it. Still looking good after all that use, no regrets at all!

Katrina Edwards

They think it looks great.

We ended up with two because the children both wanted the first one and taking turns wasn't going well. Its a nice umbrella for them to use with help, rather than one of the tiny toy ones. There's a decent amount of cover, and the handle gives them something definite to hang onto. They think it looks great. The simple design is nice. Cons - STRONG plasticky smell straight from the packaging. I left it standing open to air and that helped a lot. Also it's heavier than a little preschool umbrella, so with a two year old and a five year old we definitely supervise. Useful for us, just not something I'd expect the younger one to manage completely on their own.

A nice addition to the auction table, I'm delighted with it!!

Another item for the silent auction at our breast cancer golf fundraiser. I wanted something useful that still looked smart, and this umbrella does that nicely. The fabric and frame feel well put together, and the button operation is straightforward. A nice addition to the auction table, I'm delighted with it!!

The smooth handle feels good in my hand too.

My previous umbrella was a little bigger, so I wondered about the coverage on this one. There is room for me and my dog when we stay close together. A press of the button opens it straight away, and another folds the canopy in. Then I push the shaft down by hand to pack it away. Very straightforward. The smooth handle feels good in my hand too. Happy with it up to now, and hoping it gives me as many years as the old umbrella I finally had to throw out!

Delivery was on time.

Delivery was on time. Everything was packed neatly. More room underneath than expected, which is a plus! I like the cream white colour. Used it twice so far and the button works easily, with a sleeve to put it in afterwards. Gets five (5) stars from me because it has turned out better than I was expecting.

I'm looking for a practical umbrella.

I've carried umbrellas for a good many years (yes - I'm over 50 - but I don't object to something new just because it's new). The important thing to me is being able to use one without a performance every time it rains. Nothing is truly windproof and nothing lasts forever, so I'm not looking for miracles, or a fancy price tag. I'm looking for a practical umbrella. This Haven fits that description very nicely. The oval loop handle is comfortable in my hand, and the button operation makes a real difference getting out of the car. Crack the door, put the umbrella outside, press - you're covered before you step out. Coming back, another press collapses the canopy and I shorten the telescoping shaft by hand. A straightforward arrangement, and much less awkward than wrestling a wet umbrella through the doorway. Opened up, the cover is generous considering how small it becomes. My wife and I can shelter beneath it together, though I wouldn't describe it as a huge two-person umbrella. For me on my own it's a very useful size. Folded, it sits neatly beside the car seat without getting in the way of the controls. I also keep a smaller umbrella in my briefcase, but this is the one I reach for around the car. It doesn't need a special storage spot or take over the passenger seat. I can't give anyone a report on years of use yet. What I can say is that the opening action feels positive, the ribs flex rather than feeling rigid, and handling it hasn't been a chore. Those everyday things matter more to me than extravagant claims about what an umbrella will survive. Sensible design, comfortable to use, and good cover when I need it. That's money well spent.

Finding good umbrella is harder than it sounds.

Finding good umbrella is harder than it sounds. Large and compact and strong, usually you must pick which one matters. This one is good balance for me. It lives in the car for the really rainy days, smaller one goes around with me. No regrets on money spent, it feels worth the price.

Chase Bruce

The build feels fairly ordinary rather than great.

The build feels fairly ordinary rather than great. But it is not bad as such. Opening by button works well. The canopy folds with the button too, but pushing the shaft back down by hand takes more effort than I like. Usable, just not as effortless as I had expected. I would be cautious with it in very strong wind.

Angela Ball

Outside it has kept her dry as well.

My daughter is nearly three and has been using this with me for around six months. She loves having an umbrella and it spends quite a bit of time being a roof for little forts indoors or a pretend sunshade. Outside it has kept her dry as well. I do hold it with her when there's wind, since she's little even for her age and it can be a lot for her to handle. We do the button together too. It's stood up to her playing about with it surprisingly well and I'd happily recommend it.

Annette Stephens

Dry shoulders and no fuss.

Black is the colour I like for an umbrella, so this suits me perfectly! I've seen comments about buttons needing a firm press. Personally I prefer a button that takes a deliberate push, because I've had an umbrella spring open when I barely meant to touch it. This one doesn't feel so easy to set off by mistake. The sleeve is the only thing I can see being a bit fiddly (not really an issue for me, but perhaps for someone else). I usually leave those in a drawer anyway, it's just another small thing to keep track of. You do need to roll the fabric fairly neatly if you want to put it away in there.I've had it out in the rain over the last few days and it has done exactly what I wanted. Dry shoulders and no fuss. That makes me happy!

Christy Townsend

I'm pleased with it and intend to take it along when I travel.

Over the years I've gone through plenty of little folding umbrellas. Some have worn out quickly and others have been hopeless as soon as there was a gust. This one has a more substantial feel, with enough cover for me rather than just my head and shoulders. it is not the smallest portable umbrella, about 40cm when folded, and there is a bit of weight to it. For me that is a reasonable compromise for something that feels sturdy and has kept the rain off well. I wouldn't put it in my smallest bag, but it fits the way I carry things. If you need something absolutely tiny it may not be your choice. I'm pleased with it and intend to take it along when I travel.

Howard Conner

I wouldn't rely on the colour alone to make anybody notice me.

Living in southern Arizona, I spend much of summer wanting a patch of shade. sunscreen gets sticky on my face and ends up on the phone, while a hat doesn't help my hands or arms much. This umbrella shades more than my head, and walking feels less hot under it. We've had plenty of breezy days these last six weeks and the frame has felt solid so far.Another thing - having the black umbrella up gives me more of an outline at crossings. Still watch the turning cars though, people here seem to overlook pedestrians. I wouldn't rely on the colour alone to make anybody notice me. It's shade, not a reason to forget the rest of my sun protection, but for getting a break from the sun this has been a very good purchase.

My 2 year old grand daughter was so taken with this pink umbrella.

My 2 year old grand daughter was so taken with this pink umbrella. I had been looking for a plain one for her rather than something covered in pictures, and this looks adorable. It isn't a tiny toddler umbrella, so I do the opening and help her hold it. I think she'll get a few years out of it.

Barbara Sloan

A nice umbrella that I am keeping.

There is more umbrella here than I expected from the folded size. It covers me well on our walks in the park, though me, my husband and the dog cannot all fit comfortably underneath. If you want it mainly for yourself, the size makes sense. If you want the whole family covered, everyone needs to stand rather close, and somebody is likely to have a wet shoulder. It folds down, which is convenient, but that does not make it one of those tiny umbrellas you forget is in your bag. There is a bit of weight to it and I notice that when carrying it for a longer walk. The oval handle is fine to hold, and the sleeve is useful when putting it away. I have had no trouble getting it open quickly when rain starts. For short outings it works well for me. I would just think about how much space you have in your bag, rather than assuming compact means absolutely miniature. A nice umbrella that I am keeping.

Cindy Knox

Really compact, fits nicely in my handbag, and I like having the sleeve too. only niggle is getting the folds neat enough to put it away, that's a bit fiddly/annoying (could just be me tbh) but otherwise it's been good. can't say how it would cope with strong wind as i mostly have it up for shade when the sun's out.

Yvette Ortiz

We kept passing it around between us!

I chose the black umbrella for an outdoor wedding in the park, and everyone wanted a turn with it! It looked lovely and felt sturdy in my hand, even with a bit of breeze about. Best of all, standing in its shade made that warm, sunny day much more comfortable. We kept passing it around between us!Definitely money well spent!

Kristina Fisher

Off to a good start with this one.

Off to a good start with this one. The button does both jobs, although closing means the canopy folds in, not that the whole stem retracts. That part needs a push by hand. Much easier getting into the car with my daughter and the bags, all the same. Would happily choose it again!UPDATE: Six years on and it's still here, looking remarkably fresh...money well spent!

Ruth Donaldson

The umbrellas themselves are lovely!

A little confusion over my first order was cleared up by customer service. Replies to my email were quick and helpful, and I appreciated the attention given to sorting it out.The umbrellas themselves are lovely! I ordered three and they feel nicely finished and well made. Exactly what I wanted to have for the wedding!

Charlene Hodge

Very happy with the choice.

I'd been hunting for a bigger umbrella, preferably something with cats on it, and kept finding little folding ones. Came across this during an evening browse and decided usefulness mattered more than the cat idea. Glad I did! It gives me the room I wanted without being awkward to put away. The loop handle is comfortable in my hand too. It feels nicely made, whatever some of the comments might suggest. An umbrella still needs a little common sense when it's windy; I don't expect to point it anywhere and have it do all the work. Mine was protected properly in the box and arrived looking perfect. Very happy with the choice.

Wendy Lara

A very good umbrella for the price.

A very good umbrella for the price. It opens at a press and another press folds the canopy, so there's less fumbling about. Nothing about it seems flimsy and I feel much more confident using it when the weather is breezy. The one drawback is the folded length. My purse is a fairly average size and getting this in takes some arranging, so it isn't quite the slip-in-and-forget umbrella I imagined. Still, I'd rather have something substantial than sacrifice that just to save a little space!

Larry Mcgee

Such a lovely umbrella, exactly the sort of thing I had in mind.

Such a lovely umbrella, exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. The shape of the handle makes it a little different to me, and I do enjoy having something that isn't just like everything I pass. Anyone who likes that little bit of difference would probably enjoy it too. It's something I'm pleased to carry around.

Wayne Schmidt

WOW, this brolley has been a GREAT purchase.

WOW, this brolley has been a GREAT purchase. Here in Saudi Arabia it is HOT with sunshine and wind coming together! So far feels strong and gives very welcome shade, I am impressed with how it is doing in this weather. Really hoping it will last a long time. Not easy to please me with these things but I will VERY HAPPILY recommend this brolley.

Madison Hester

Quite a tough umbrella yes.

Quite a tough umbrella yes. The folded length is more than I thought (still much less than a full length one though). It's been doing a capable job during these rainy weeks. The button is handy for opening and shutting the canopy. You do need to push the shaft back in before opening again, that's normal operation.A useful space saver.

Rachael Levine

For the price, the finish is impressive.

For the price, the finish is impressive. There is beige fabric on top and a black surface underneath. The button operation is straightforward—press once to open it and again to gather the canopy. You then shorten the telescoping shaft by hand. Everything seems neatly assembled rather than cheaply finished, and delivery was quick. A very satisfying purchase overall.
