For everyday wet weather I'd be a little less impressed.
I bought it for a Halloween costume, so it suited what I needed. For everyday wet weather I'd be a little less impressed. The material feels thinner than I expected, more lightweight than the substantial umbrella I had in mind. Opening it is easy, and I haven't pinched my fingers using the button to fold the canopy either. It hasn't caused me any trouble, but will I reach for it every time it rains?

I'm rather taken with this umbrella!
I'm rather taken with this umbrella! Opened out it covers more than I expected, though folded it is still easy enough to put away. There is more weight than its appearance suggests, something to keep in mind if you want the tiniest umbrella. The oval handle suits my small hands and I find it comfortable, although someone wanting a big solid grip might feel differently. It has a neat look without being fussy. I can see myself taking it to meetups or a special occasion, not just leaving it in the cupboard. Hoping for a few compliments!

Thank you for a good product.
Hello! This was a good purchase for the summer in Europe with my wife. The size is convenient to take with us, and we can stand close together underneath, though it is mainly a one person umbrella. It opens very fast and the frame seems well supported. It is pleasant to carry. I wish I had chosen two so we could each carry one. It gives me the impression it should last well. Thank you for a good product. My photo beside the doorway gives a better idea of its size.

Such a pretty umbrella.
Picked this out for my 3 year old granddaughter. She was delighted with it! Such a pretty umbrella. I help with the opening and closing because the button is quick and she is still little. It is a bit bigger in her hands than I imagined, but she enjoys holding it with me. She likes it, which was the main thing.

Demure, a little unusual, worth the money.
Fellow lovers of dramatic parasols, take note. My steampunk, slightly goth side approves of this one, even without lace or frills. It has a quiet charm just sitting in the room, and is perfectly useful out in the rain too. Demure, a little unusual, worth the money.P.S. If you read novels full of parasols, you'll understand my enthusiasm [...]

Love the coverage and being able to open it or fold the canopy…
Love the coverage and being able to open it or fold the canopy with one button. The part that costs it a star is pushing the shaft back into the handle afterwards. That's a manual step and needs a fairly firm push, so someone with sore hands or arthritis might find it awkward. Once it's up, though, it feels sturdy and has kept me properly dry in rain with a breeze. For me the useful size outweighs the extra effort when packing it away.

More cover than I expected from a FOLDING umbrella!
More cover than I expected from a FOLDING umbrella! I was replacing an older oversized one, and wanted something easier to carry. This is lighter and packs down, although it still needs a reasonable amount of space in a bag.Pros: Fair price, manageable weight, decent finish.Cons: Doesn't have quite the hefty feel of my old one, so I'd be more cautious with it in strong wind.
Cheyenne Gould
Handy umbrella.
Handy umbrella. My wife keeps hers in the car door compartment, where it sits neatly instead of sliding about on the floor. It is always there when she needs it. Was surprised how much coverage it gives once opened considering how little space it takes up packed away. Exactly what we needed.

The folded size is useful to take around.
The folded size is useful to take around.
It is good for shade, and for rain if that comes while using the shade.
A heavy umbrella would be difficult in my handbag, this one is manageable.
The button movement is quick so I take care when doing it, but not complicated.
For carrying about it is convenient. I would keep it for normal weather, not the very bad weather.

A big hit!!
A big hit!! My older boy had an umbrella at three, and the little one is every bit as pleased with this one as he was with his. Makes me smile!! Do remember to bring it in though, I once forgot his on the patio for several days and the sun left the colour looking patchy in places.

Much steadier in the wind!
Much steadier in the wind! My old cheap umbrellas seemed to give up after a few gusty outings, so I finally decided to spend a bit more. I've had no turning inside out with this one so far, which makes a nice change. It feels like something I'll actually keep using instead of replacing every few months. It looks smart rather than fussy as well. For me the extra money was worth it.

Looks really sweet and gives her lots of cover.
My four year old was thrilled to unwrap this at Christmas and keeps wanting to use it. It has a solid feel, so hopefully she'll get a lot of use from it. Looks really sweet and gives her lots of cover. There was a slight new smell and folding it neatly takes a little fiddling, but I'm happy with the quality overall.

Pretty pink and works fine in rain.
Pretty pink and works fine in rain. I should have checked the folded size more carefully before ordering. It is too long for my purse, though a backpack would be another matter. Keeping it anyway because I like the color so much. It was packed neatly and arrived when I expected it to.

The button closing the canopy is handy.
Love this, although it's a bit weightier than I pictured. 'Compact' had me imagining something for my little handbag, and this isn't quite that. The button closing the canopy is handy. Feels nicely made too. There's good coverage, enough for someone to squeeze in beside me if needed. It'll live in the car for sudden rain rather than in my handbag. The beige is understated and goes with everything, which is just what I like.
Jessica Yang
Very happy to recommend it!
I use mine downtown where the wind gets funneled between the tall buildings. After rain there always seem to be discarded umbrellas in the street bins. This one has felt reassuringly solid on my walks and I like how it looks. People have commented on it too. I've since picked up another to leave in the car. Very happy to recommend it!
Jacob Calhoun
Taken it along for two rounds of golf so far.
Taken it along for two rounds of golf so far. Very pleased. On hot days it's much nicer standing under this than out in the sun. Having some shade with me as I walk around really helps. It's made those rounds more comfortable, and I'm happy I decided to get it!

Quite an impressive umbrella.
Quite an impressive umbrella. It isn't much trouble to carry, and the loop is comfortable in my hand. I did need a little practice with closing it, particularly when I'm also holding a pizza. The top closes at a press, then you have to compress the pole yourself. Basically, it works like it says! I can't pretend I've tried it in every kind of weather, but what I've seen so far makes it a worth while purchase. Getting into the car has been easier too. I can collapse the top while still outside the door, instead of wrestling an open umbrella beside the seat. It is still an umbrella, not some miracle, but the convenience adds up. Looking at the price you might not expect a lot, and that would be a mistake. You can spend more without getting more, so don't buy expensive just for buying expensive.
Jimmy Beard
A very useful umbrella.
A very useful umbrella. There's comfortable cover for me, or a grandchild tucked close beside me, though busy pavements still need some care. Other people's umbrellas can catch the edge if nobody is paying attention. Away from that jostling it is a pleasure to have along.
Linda Day
i'm pleased with this one.
i bought this expecting the usual compromise with a compact umbrella: convenient to carry, but not much room underneath. that hasn't really been the case. folded up it's manageable, and when it's open there's enough coverage that i'm not constantly adjusting it to keep rain off. the price made me hesitate, since there are cheaper umbrellas around, but i'm satisfied with what i got.
the canopy feels substantial, and the button is useful when you've already got things in your hands. it opens promptly and also draws the canopy closed. you still have to compress the telescoping part yourself, which is worth knowing rather than expecting the whole thing to disappear at a touch. not a problem for me.
a friend was more concerned with whether the pink looked cute, but honestly that's not what makes an umbrella useful to me. i like the colour, and i care more about being covered without having to keep fussing with it. the oval handle isn't the usual curved hook, but i find it comfortable enough to grip.
so my initial doubts about paying more have gone away with use. i wanted something practical, and that's what this has turned out to be, rather than something that only looks nice folded up.
it goes back into its sleeve neatly and provides decent shelter without being an enormous umbrella to carry around. for me, the useful part matters more than the cute factor. i'm pleased with this one.

A nice looking umbrella, arrived promptly and packed well.
A nice looking umbrella, arrived promptly and packed well. I haven't tested it in wind, so can't say anything useful about that yet. In the hand it seems very well made. The handle is fairly large and a bit weighty to me, probably not what I would pick for a child.
Mason Melendez
The canopy moved, but kept its shape.
The black canopy is fairly understated, and the umbrella makes a decent first impression. The button opens it promptly, the closed loop gives me a secure grip, and the frame feels more substantial than the usual compact umbrella. In use, though, I found the difference in wind resistance less impressive than the difference in its construction. I did a couple of simple checks rather than just judging it by how sturdy it looked. First I extended my arm with the umbrella open and drew it sharply back toward myself. The canopy moved, but kept its shape. Next I swept it downward and toward my hip, putting a somewhat greater load on it, and that was enough to turn the canopy the other way. This is hardly a scientific test, and I would not expect any handheld umbrella to resist everything. Still, with so many flexible ribs, I had hoped there would be a little more margin before it inverted. I stopped at that point and looked over the frame rather than continuing to pull at it. The ribs had flexed with the canopy, and I could not see any damage. After easing the canopy into its normal position, I checked the opening and closing action again. The button still opened it normally and brought the canopy together when pressed again; compressing the telescoping shaft is still done manually. Nothing needed replacing or repairing, which is a point in its favor. For normal rain I think it is quite serviceable, and I do like the fairly solid feel. My reservation is that this feel led me to expect a more noticeable improvement in wind handling. I considered four stars because it came through the test intact, but three better reflects the gap between my initial impression and what it actually did.

For walking the dog in wet weather this has been a great buy.
For walking the dog in wet weather this has been a great buy. The canopy gives me enough cover to stay comfortable instead of heading home soaked. There's room for another person if we stay close together, too. We're out several times a day, so having an umbrella that makes a longer walk in the rain less miserable is something I really appreciate.
Loretta Kim
Very impressed so far.
Very impressed so far. It has a substantial feel, the frame looks well put together and there's a useful amount of cover. I've only taken it out three times, so it would be too early to make claims about years of use, but nothing about it feels flimsy. The material seems good and it packs into my computer bag, which means I actually have it with me. A solid choice from what I've seen to date.

I wanted something I could trust on the way to school after getting fed up with umbrellas that weren't much use on windy days, and this one feels a lot more solid, so far I've arrived dry without fighting it all the way! Mind you, you still feel a pull when a gust catches it, but it keeps its shape and I've been able to manage it fine!

A smart looking umbrella & it feels well made.
A smart looking umbrella & it feels well made. We get wind with the rain here in Florida, so finding something substantial at a decent price was important to me.I had a question about one of the plastic pieces & got a helpful explanation which put my mind at ease. Happy with the way it handles our rain & with the help I received.Thank you

Good umbrella, it seems solid and I've had no problems with it so far.
Good umbrella, it seems solid and I've had no problems with it so far. The storms where I live aren't usually too bad, so that's all it's been asked to handle. It opens to roughly 105cm and is about 390g. I'm average sized and exercise a bit, but I still notice the weight after holding it for a while. Wanted enough room to share with somebody standing close, not a tiny canopy. For that purpose it suits me well, although the 40cm folded length is more than I need when I'm on my own. A smaller one might be handier, but I'm happy with this.
It comes along whenever there is a hint of rain...
Finding a nice umbrella for a little girl turned out to be harder than I expected. So many of the ones I looked at seemed tiny or rather toy-like, and I wanted something that would actually be useful in the rain. This has the solid feel I was hoping for without being too cumbersome for her to carry. She was delighted when she saw it! The gray is much nicer in person than I thought it would be, simple but still very pretty. The fabric and the way it is put together feel like a proper adult umbrella rather than a novelty one. She can get it open with the button quite easily. I help with compressing the shaft when we put it away, which is fine by me, and like not having to reach up to a little catch to collapse the canopy. The best bit is how much she likes carrying it. It comes along whenever there is a hint of rain...and sometimes when there isn't a cloud about. Exactly the sort of useful thing I was trying to find.

There is a small weather trick hiding in this umbrella.
There is a small weather trick hiding in this umbrella.Press the button while it's raining and suddenly your head isn't being rained on!Press it a second time and the trick reverses itself rather quickly. Apparently the sensible thing is to get indoors before doing that...a detail I managed to learn through practical experience. Excellent little rain magician, provided you operate it in the right order.

The construction is excellent
A present for a friend, and it ticked the things she wanted: quick automatic opening, an oval loop handle that's comfortable to hold, and enough coverage for her and the work cases she carries. The construction is excellent; I was expecting something good and this went beyond that. For anyone who likes a folding umbrella with this sort of handle, I think it's a very good choice.

Love using this in the sunshine!
Love using this in the sunshine! The shade underneath is such a relief, almost like stepping out of the sun under a tree. It's slightly heavier than my usual umbrella, but that doesn't bother me given how comfortable it is underneath. Packing it away needs a firm push to compress the stem after the button shuts the canopy. That's the only part that takes any effort. Even with that, I would happily recommend it to anyone wanting some shade to carry around.
Peggy Barrera
For a folding umbrella it feels exceptionally solid.
The construction is what stands out for me. The flexible ribs give it a reassuring feel, and the opening mechanism doesn't feel flimsy either. I've had it out in a breeze without feeling I had to fight it the whole time. I still keep a larger golf umbrella for properly miserable days, but this one lives in my messenger bag for surprise showers (or the mornings I forget to check the forecast). For a folding umbrella it feels exceptionally solid. A very useful backup.
Dylan Palmer
Arrived when expected and I'm satisfied with it.
I've carried automatic umbrellas for years and wanted another straightforward one. Looked in a few shops but couldn't find the combination I was after. This does it, a button to open and another press to shut the canopy. Arrived when expected and I'm satisfied with it.

The canopy kept me dry and the whole thing felt steady in my hand.
So far just one outing with it, but that was a proper soaking with a few gusts thrown in. The canopy kept me dry and the whole thing felt steady in my hand.I usually spend a rainy walk worrying about whether my umbrella is about to give up. This time I could just get on with walking. It opened straight away, and closing the canopy was easy too, with no pinched fingers. The shaft then pushes in by hand. The size suits me. Enough cover over my shoulders, yet I didn't feel as if I was taking over the entire pavement. I still had to watch where other people were holding theirs, of course. For anyone carrying a baby: the space underneath seems useful for keeping both of you covered if you're caught out. I haven't tried that myself, just something I noticed about the size.It looks neat and simple. Based on that first wet outing, I'd certainly choose it again.
Jenny Mullen
Definitely pleased with my choice.
Shopping in stores just wears me out, especially when I go home without finding what I wanted. This was much easier, and I liked the price too. I've had two umbrellas stolen already, so I'll be watching this one! It's a comfortable size opened up, then packs away without taking over my bag. Using the button is simple, which I appreciate. And the green looks so cheerful when everything outside is gloomy. I wanted something useful that wasn't boring to look at, and this is it. Definitely pleased with my choice.
Brady Johnston
So good cover, just not there easiest thing for me to carry.
It went with my ninja-burqa costume, which probably says enough about my taste- but its getting real umbrella use too. People think thats dorky then want a turn with it.It covers me well and the ribs feel seriously tough. Weather here in the northeast can shove you about, and so far its coped with that. The button gives a proper kick, like a small animal trying to escape your hand. Not my favorite handle though, them loop feels crowded with my fingers. And folded is chunkier than I hoped. So good cover, just not there easiest thing for me to carry.
Desiree Kramer
The umbrella itself is good, but I had pictured a broader canopy.
The umbrella itself is good, but I had pictured a broader canopy. Opened it up and measured roughly 105 cm across, which is fine for me on my own, just not the extra coverage I had in mind. I should have paid closer attention to the dimensions. Happy with the construction, less happy with my choice of size.
Kelly Mckenzie
I'd recommend it :)(It isn't a toy though, I help him with it.
My 3 year old son spotted this and decided it was his straight away! The ones I've seen in shops are either very girly or just plain dull, but this gray one looks really nice. I'd recommend it :)(It isn't a toy though, I help him with it. Haven't had it out enough times to say much on how long it lasts, still giving the five stars).

I appreciate things that just do their job.
Went looking online for an umbrella that felt like a proper everyday item rather than something temporary. This fits the bill. Solid in the hand, easy enough to manage and has coped well with rainy, blustery days. I misplaced my first one and bought the same again. That says quite a bit really. I appreciate things that just do their job.It could be a touch wider for me, but I'm still very pleased with it.
Rachel Burch
Such a good choice, I'm delighted with mine.
My son liked his so much that I ended up getting one for my ex-husband and another for myself. The oval loop is handy to hold and it all looks pretty stylish. Best of all, it folds down neatly without being a nuisance to carry. Such a good choice, I'm delighted with mine.

We chose this for our wedding photos, hoping for something a bit more special looking. Opened up, it is quite a plain umbrella and doesn't give the decorative effect I had in mind. It works as an umbrella, though, and the cream white colour was lovely in the pictures.

All considered, a good umbrella to have ready for a rainy day.
When I chose it, I hadn't really pictured what 105cm across would mean. Looking at it folded, I thought it would be tiny. Open it and there's a "BIG" difference. Not shelter the whole street big (alright, just me with room to spare), but I don't have to hunch my shoulders. It feels well made too. The bit I don't love is that when a gust catches it you can feel a tug at your hand. A little sail moment. Not something to hold loosely and forget about. Still, useful coverage and a manageable folded size. All considered, a good umbrella to have ready for a rainy day.

An umbrella, and a wonderful one.
An umbrella, and a wonderful one. Enjoyed the first enough to buy another (yes, there was one before this) for the house, as the other stays in my car for emergencies. What impresses me is the construction...all those ribs keep the fabric stretched nicely and the whole thing feels very solid. Other umbrellas have passed through my hands, but this build really caught my attention. It gives the feeling of something that will last, so I consider the money well spent. When another is needed, I won't have to wonder which to choose or where to look. Recommended.
George Montgomery
I've taken it out several times in the rain now.
I've taken it out several times in the rain now. The frame feels strong and hasn't given me any trouble in a breeze. The fabric looks nice too. My one niggle is the effort needed to push the telescoping part down after the canopy closes; it needs a proper firm push, but works fine.
Jocelyn Stephenson
I've had it out in rain and a bit of wind with no trouble.
I wasn't sure how the closing action worked when I first received this umbrella, so I asked for some help. The reply was friendly and actually explained it clearly, rather than leaving me to guess. The button brings the canopy in, and then you shorten the stem manually. Once I understood that, it was straightforward. And the umbrella itself has turned out to be every bit as useful as I hoped. I've had it out in rain and a bit of wind with no trouble. Folds down neatly and is easy to take along without much thought.I appreciate getting a helpful answer as much as getting a decent product. Based on this experience, I would happily buy from them again!

Took the pink umbrella along to our pop up dinner because the forecast looked wet but no rain came in the endHave had it out since and it opens easily, covers me nicely and seems sturdyStill makes me smile wondering how we planned to eat while holding it above the table, probably best we never had to work that one out

I was after enough coverage to stop feeling soaked down one side, and this has been great in rain. There's comfortable room for me, and a friend can tuck in close if needed. Wind does give it a tug occasionally, but turning it a little into the breeze has sorted that out for me.

Haven is new to me and this umbrella has made a good impression.
Haven is new to me and this umbrella has made a good impression. It's roomy but folds down tidily. The button is a bit firm to press, and I'd have liked the whole pole to retract too. The automatic closing is only for the canopy, though; you shorten the pole yourself afterwards, so it's working as intended. That's just an extra step I'd rather not have. Overall I'm glad I tried it.

I love having shade with me!
I love having shade with me! I'm sensitive to sunlight and normally end up covering my head and face outside. Holding this over me is a much nicer way to have a shady spot. I still use my usual sun protection, but it's lovely not having a hat squashing my hair all the time. The umbrella has a simple, pretty look and people have commented on how nice it is. Easy to put up when I need it and easy to carry when I don't. I'm delighted with it, and would happily buy the same one again!
Sue Mcfarland
It is a decent umbrella overall.
It is a decent umbrella overall. I was replacing an older one that had started coming apart, and wanted a sturdier everyday option. This feels solid enough, although it's a bit bulkier folded than I would ideally like. I handle my umbrellas carefully, so I'm hoping it will last well. So far it has kept me dry without any trouble.
