It folds into a manageable size without feeling insubstantial.

After being disappointed by several (fairly pricey) umbrellas, this one is a welcome change. The frame feels resilient rather than flimsy, and the ribs have some give to them. I especially appreciate how smoothly the button operates the canopy. It folds into a manageable size without feeling insubstantial. Early impressions are very good, and I hope to get several seasons out of it.

I'm pleased with how steady this feels in wet, breezy weather.

I'm pleased with how steady this feels in wet, breezy weather. The frame has some give without seeming flimsy, and I like being able to fold it into a manageable size afterwards. It has become a regular companion through the rainy season. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Great umbrella!

Great umbrella! Bigger open than I expected. Ha! Keeps me covered when a shower comes through during a round, and has handled some wind too. I play rain or shine... my buddy needs his own though, it's not one of those giant golf umbrellas. Folds down neatly afterwards, which makes it easy to carry. I'd recommend it for a useful size and solid feel. Keep those shots straight!

Well, not sure what to say, it's for rain.

Apparently opening umbrellas indoors is unlucky. My 3 year old wasn't bothered by that and spent a couple of hours playing with this last night. It has survived his interest so far. I handle the button for him, since it springs open rather than needing to be pushed up. He mostly wants to stand underneath it. Feels fairly tough. Educational value? Well, not sure what to say, it's for rain. The beige outside is plain and the underneath is black. No actual rainy outing yet, so that part is still to come.

I love art and little bits of beauty, even an umbrella!

I love art and little bits of beauty, even an umbrella! We need GOD's goodness in confusing times. Keep believing, keep LOVING!!!Did my review disappear? Internet trouble again? I'll send it once more! Eventually something must go through...ramble, ramble, and a little more rambling...

Opened it and thought oh-that-isn't-as-small-as-I-imagined.

I liked the idea of a folding umbrella and somehow expected it to disappear into the tiniest bag I own. Opened it and thought oh-that-isn't-as-small-as-I-imagined. It is compact compared with a long umbrella, just not one of those little things you barely notice you're carrying. Some people will probably prefer that because it gives a proper amount of cover. I mostly wanted something cute and convenient for rainy days, not to carry around extra weight all day. The quality seems good (although it's only been out in light rain so far) and the black is nice and plain. In the picture I didn't really take in how substantial the folded handle end is. None of this is a big complaint and I'm happy with it overall. Just check the folded dimensions against your bag before deciding, rather than guessing from the photo like I did :)

Nice umbrella and the button action works well ...

Nice umbrella and the button action works well ... just heavier and bulkier in my bag than I expected. Getting the fabric folded neatly is a bit of a fiddle for me, it doesn't seem to fall into place by itself. I suppose part of the weight is all the ribs, and they do make it feel more substantial which I appreciate. This will be staying in the car for rainy days rather than being the one I put in my travel bag.

Being small is a plus for me.

Being small is a plus for me. I wanted something for my backpack for unexpected rain and wasn't expecting it to feel very sturdy. Opened it and was pleasantly surprised by how solid it seemed. Should do nicely, unless the wind decides to take me along with it. Only joking!

Jamie Gomez

Nice green color, feels substantial.

The canopy feels well supported by the flexible ribs, although I would still be careful when a gust catches it. The button puts it up and also brings the canopy down, then you press the telescoping section back to its short size. The oval loop handle is comfortable to carry and the sleeve keeps it tidy when put away.Nice green color, feels substantial. Not that hollow lightweight feeling you get with some folding umbrellas. A useful open size without a full length umbrella to store afterwards.Pros:-30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy.-Button opening AND canopy closing.-Closed oval loop handle.-Storage sleeve.Cons:-Has a bit of weight to it, though for me that is not much of a drawback.

Connor Rocha

Really pleased with these umbrellas.

We needed umbrellas for the Wedding on saturday and these green ones have made me feel much better about the rain. Wanted everything here before the day and now we have them and we are all set. I opened them up and they look very good, easy to use too. It is nice having one less thing to worry about for saturday. If the rain comes we are ready for it. Really pleased with these umbrellas. If I ever need some more i'm happy to choose these again, glad I went with them for the Wedding.

Zachary Anthony

nothing about that has been difficult.

I can't speak for how this would do in a proper downpour with strong wind, because I haven't had that weather while using it yet. For the rain and lighter breezes I've encountered, though, it has held its shape nicely and kept me dry. It also looks quite smart, which is a nice bonus on something practical. The oval handle is comfortable in my hand and the fabric has a tidy finish. Pressing the button brings it open promptly. Another press draws the canopy in, then I push the shaft back down myself; nothing about that has been difficult. The fabric looks neat when it's folded down too, not just when it's spread overhead. There is enough weight for it to feel substantial, without making it unpleasant to carry. So far I find it a very good umbrella, and I'd be comfortable recommending it based on the use I've had.

My spouse gave me this umbrella and I've been so happy to have it!

My spouse gave me this umbrella and I've been so happy to have it! Having just moved from Texas to Oregon, I needed something to keep me dry getting to the office each day. It slips into my purse or backpack without much trouble, and a quick shake gets most of the water off. Being able to pop it open with a button is wonderful. Fiddling with an umbrella while the rain is pouring down is no fun, and I haven't had that struggle with this one.The sleeve it comes with hasn't been much use to me, honestly. Getting the umbrella stuffed back inside takes too much fuss when I'm using it day after day, so I tend to leave it off. So far the wind hasn't managed to flip it over, which gives me a good feeling about how sturdy it is. I'm very glad I have it and would suggest it to anyone needing an umbrella for everyday rain.

James Erickson

I wasn't convinced about cream white at first.

The amount of coverage for something this manageable to carry is excellent. I wasn't convinced about cream white at first. I guess I had it in my head that a light umbrella belonged on a golf course, not on my everyday walk. However, seeing it in person changed my mind. It looks simple rather than showy, and I'm perfectly happy taking it out myself.

Ariel Cruz

feels nice and sturdy too.

our favourite one to take out with the little one. it looks just as shown. it opens wider than the little children's umbrellas, so i can hold it over our toddler and give better cover around the head and shoulders. feels nice and sturdy too. we'd happily recommend it!

William Poole

This has kept me dry well.

My walk across the parking lot gets quite breezy and I catch public transport, so an umbrella that folds away is useful. This has kept me dry well. The one think stopping me giving five stars is the handle. A little chunky for my hand and I would prefer more grip for my fingers, otherwise a very good umbrella.

Todd Mays

Love it.

arrived very fast.

arrived very fast. Looks nice . Feels substancial. Button has it open straight away, another press brings canopy down then you push the shaft in. Wraps up neatly enough to go into the sleeve. The oval handle is nice to hang onto, not just a straight stick. I still feel a bit like a walking lightening rod carrying any umbrella though, probably just me. Looks like it should last.

Diana Wyatt

A normal medium umbrella, not one of those huge ones.

Here in three days!! A normal medium umbrella, not one of those huge ones. About 105cm across when open, and the button for opening and closing the canopy works nicely. It springs out so quickly it could give someone a fright. Quite amusing! Seems strongly made. Got it for a good price~

There is a knack to holding any umbrella when a breeze catches it.

I needed to replace my umbrella and wanted something with decent coverage, not something tiny. After looking through lots of folding ones I spotted this while browsing one evening. So glad I did! It folds down for carrying but doesn't feel skimpy once opened. I keep it a little higher when walking so I can see ahead, rather than hiding behind the edge. The construction feels good to me, despite a few less positive reviews I had read. There is a knack to holding any umbrella when a breeze catches it. It came protected in a sensible box and reached me in lovely condition, right on time. I'd certainly recommend it if you want something practical that still looks nice.

The favorite song still gets sung, umbrella or no umbrella.

The favorite song still gets sung, umbrella or no umbrella. Now mama also has an eager little escort on the grocery run, proudly carrying this umbrella even when the sun is out and there's not a rain cloud to report. Useful in actual rain too, imagine that. >smile<

Brendan Durham

Looks great and feels as if it'll hold up well.

Looks great and feels as if it'll hold up well. I bought it for a trip to Asia, mainly to have some shade rather than for rainy days. My one hesitation is the weight; when you're carrying things around all day, every bit counts. Not as light as I'd hoped, but otherwise it's exactly what I wanted!

Kurt Shelton

I really like having this for sunny days.

I really like having this for sunny days. Being so pale, I tend to dread going out when the sun is relentless, and the shade makes a noticeable difference to my comfort. It comes along with me now! Very happy to recommend it if you want an umbrella for sunshine as well as rain.

Ian May

There is more cover than I pictured, a nice surprise!

Turned up as expected, and the packaging had protected it well. There is more cover than I pictured, a nice surprise! The black looks smart and understated. Only two uses so far, but the button has been straightforward and I like having a sleeve for storage once it's dry. Five (5) stars from me as it's better than I expected.

Carl Mcmillan

Price aside, I'm pleased with it.

Bought four at once. More money than I normally spend on umbrellas, but I wanted them all together. Very happy with the umbrella itself, feels solid and has coped well with wind.Price aside, I'm pleased with it. A bit much to tuck in a purse or pocket though, there's a noticeable weight to it.

Margaret Ray

I can recommend this without any hesitation.

Among the sturdiest umbrellas I've owned, with much better construction than the cheap ones I've had. Those never seemed to cope with rough weather or being knocked around in the car. The canopy fabric is flexible, and the frame and handle feel solid. I can recommend this without any hesitation.

Jeff Bowers

Nice little umbrella and he's very happy with it.

Once one grandson had an umbrella I knew the others would be asking as well. This one was for the youngest and he was thrilled when he unwrapped it. He wanted one of his own just like the bigger boys, so it went down very well. Nice little umbrella and he's very happy with it.

Hi folks,Just tried out my new umbrella, Great feel to it.

Hi folks,Just tried out my new umbrella, Great feel to it.the oval handle is different from a club grip but easy to hold!It folds away into my golf bag instead of sticking out.Used it during the round at the weekend when some showers came through and stayed nice and dry.Always a better round when you're not getting soaked.:)Regards,A golfer still wearing knickers.

Glenn Gaines

Folds down to a handy size.

After seeing my mother in law's umbrella I wanted something similar. This gives my wife and me decent shelter if we stay close, without having to store a long golf umbrella. Folds down to a handy size. It's nice having a folding one that doesn't feel so tiny when it's up.

Makayla Nolan

this feels more substantial.

Its a nice looking umbrella and I hope she gets plenty of use from it, Her last one came apart far too soon.....this feels more substantial. She needs a hand pressing the button sometimes but thats not a big issue for us. I hesitated over what it cost, but if it lasts as well as it feels its money well spent.

Gina Hammond

Works for light rain as well as sunshine.

Excellent as a parasol for the money! Roomy enough for me without having an enormous umbrella to manage. Works for light rain as well as sunshine. Quite easy to carry. I take my time folding it away because I don't like forcing the mechanism, but at this price? That little bit of care is fine.

Harry Moore

This has been a much less embarrassing choice so far.

My old umbrella would turn itself inside out over practically any breeze, and I was rather tired of looking ridiculous. This has been a much less embarrassing choice so far. It also gives me room to tuck my bag underneath instead of choosing whether to keep myself or my belongings dry.

Cole Little

The fabric feels quite substantial.

Looks smart opened up, with cream white outside and a plain black underside. The handle length and the amount of cover both feel about medium to me.The fabric feels quite substantial. To put it away I press the button to gather the canopy, then push the shaft down by hand. I smooth the folds and wrap it snugly before putting it into the sleeve. It fit much better that way than when I tried stuffing it in with the fabric all bunched up.

A little something for the gothic drawing room, if you please.

A little something for the gothic drawing room, if you please. This umbrella looks quite at home amongst my steampunk things, even when it's only there to be admired. Demure, practical, and with a pleasingly restrained air.No need for a froth of lace to make an impression. P.S. If your bookshelf leans towards supernatural adventures in polite society, you will understand [...]

Jerome Cross

Very satisfied with it so far.

Only had this out on three occasions, so it's early days for judging how long it will last. One outing was in some pretty unpleasant wind and rain, and it coped well. Being tall, I still ended up with wet lower legs when the rain blew sideways, but the coverage above that was good. Very satisfied with it so far.

This brelly has kept me covered through some miserable wet days.

Have been meaning to review this for ages, now I have a tablet and can finally get round to it.Walking across the big parking lot at work means facing the wind that comes between the buildings. This brelly has kept me covered through some miserable wet days. People near me are fighting with theirs and I'm still walking along with a smile. Easily my favourite umbrella so far, I wouldn't want to do that walk without it!

Nathaniel Savage

This one arrived and the sunshine came straight back.

Apparently the quickest way to end a rainy spell is to buy an umbrella. This one arrived and the sunshine came straight back. It looks good and feels solid, but the weather hasn't let me say much more. If San Diego ever gets wet again I'll update. Until then, clearly some sort of magic at work.

Lori King

Feels sturdy and I'm delighted with it.

Arrived in a bigger box than I expected, but the umbrella itself folds up neatly. Feels sturdy and I'm delighted with it. I wanted a simple beige umbrella rather than anything fancy, and this suits me. There's space for my bag as well as me, or another person if we huddle close. Having it open at a press is a lovely extra.

Dorothy Simmons

It is useful for shade as well as rain.

Several friends have ended up getting one after seeing mine. My wife lost hers and went straight for the same umbrella again. It is useful for shade as well as rain. Angling it toward the sun makes a noticeable difference to how much of me is actually in the shade

Dalton Lam

I expected something that felt a bit more substantial after…

I expected something that felt a bit more substantial after reading the reviews. It has surprised me in use though, coping well with ordinary rain and some wind.Handy to leave in a bag for a shower you didn't plan for, but I would still take something bigger if a bad storm was forecast.

Andrew Hooper

It makes nice shade too.

Picked this out for my three year old boy and it's been such a good purchase. We had a proper downpour a few days back and he wanted to walk round the whole backyard with it. I helped him get it open and he was delighted to have his own umbrella. It makes nice shade too. He keeps asking to use it again.

Alvin Mathis

Sturdy feeling and a bit weighty.

Bigger when opened than the folded shape suggests. Sturdy feeling and a bit weighty. The loop handle looks very stylish. I have plenty of room underneath, and two could fit standing close. We happy with this purchase. Hoping it will be around for a good few years.

Charlene Harvey

It's done a good job in the rain and we're pleased with it.

My wife wanted something more dependable after being disappointed with flimsy umbrellas. This has the substantial feel she was looking for. Of Course it isn't the tiniest thing once folded, but she's happy to trade a little space for a stronger frame. It's done a good job in the rain and we're pleased with it.

Theresa Campos

Mine has been just as useful.

I bought three two years back, keeping one and giving the others to my sister and sister-in-law. They've proved dependable in wet weather, and both women have mentioned more than once how much they appreciate theirs. Mine has been just as useful. It is a pleasure to give something practical that actually gets used and is still appreciated later.

Traci Patterson

A nice choice for what she wanted.

A friend's little girl wanted a cream white umbrella for her fourth birthday, so this made a lovely present. She was delighted! It looks cute without feeling flimsy, though it's roomier than a little child's umbrella. Her mum takes children's photographs and was already thinking about including it in some pictures. A nice choice for what she wanted.

MY BEST UMBRELLA YET AND I DOUBT I'LL NEED TO BUY ANOTHER.

MY BEST UMBRELLA YET AND I DOUBT I'LL NEED TO BUY ANOTHER. IT'S EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE HERE NOW, WHICH MEANS THE FIRST ONE LEAVING ON A RAINY DAY TAKES IT , AND THE REST OF US GET THE LESS POPULAR ONES. THERE'S PLENTY OF ROOM UNDER IT AND MY CLOTHES STAY DRY! IT COST A LITTLE MORE THAN I NORMALLY SPEND, BUT IT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT

Jacqueline Bradshaw

Kept me dry through the very heavy rain we've had recently.

Kept me dry through the very heavy rain we've had recently. One star off for the business of carrying it afterwards. The sleeve is fine once everything is dry, but do I want a soaking umbrella packed away in it. I usually leave the sleeve at home or in the car when it's raining, then when the rain stops I have a wet umbrella to carry around separately. If I take the sleeve, that's another thing to keep track of in my handbag. It isn't a huge problem, just not as convenient as I'd like once the shower is over. Apart from that, it does its job.

Gregg Haas

This one has been a nice surprise.

We have gone through more umbrellas than I'd like to admit, so I wasn't expecting much beyond staying dry. This one has been a nice surprise. Several wet outings in and it still feels solid. The real test was standing with my spouse at our child's soccer game when the rain turned sideways and the wind kept tugging at it. We stayed close together under the canopy; roomy for one, just about enough for two when you aren't moving around. Nothing came loose and it kept its shape. I'm not calling it storm proof, but it handled that afternoon well. The weather got so unpleasant they stopped the game at half time!

Tabitha Bird

Handy for ordinary rain and just as handy when I want a little shade.

This umbrella is so convenient, I don't only take it out for rain I use it for a bit of shade as well. My husband leaves things ready the night before he goes to work and I put this by the door so it is there if either of us wants it in the am. Much neater than having a big long umbrella standing about. I also keep it near the basement door sometimes in case somebody needs to borrow it on there way out.It is surprising how useful something that folds up can be when you haven't much room to put things. Oh and I leave it on my kitchen chair till my husband moves it back by the door. That way I see it instead of forgetting it somewhere. Handy for ordinary rain and just as handy when I want a little shade.

Joanne Kemp

It spreads out to a surprisingly BIG canopy for a folding umbrella.

Mine is pink, and it is a cheerful change from the rather dull umbrellas I usually end up carrying. It spreads out to a surprisingly BIG canopy for a folding umbrella. (I can stand normally beneath it instead of pulling my shoulders in and hoping.)Underneath there are 30 ribs, with some flexibility to them rather than a completely rigid framework. The handle is a closed oval loop, which gives my hand something comfortable to hold onto. There is a button for opening it automatically, and pressing it again draws the canopy closed. The stem still needs to be pushed in by hand. I mention that because closing the fabric and shortening the whole umbrella are two separate things, not one.The stem feels substantial, and the whole thing has a reassuring feel without being an enormous umbrella to cart around. It reminds me slightly of something a cartoon character would produce from an impossibly small handbag, then stand there looking pleased with themselves. ;-)Edit: Coming back to add the detail I left out earlier. There is a carry sleeve included. Once the umbrella is folded down, it goes into that and makes a much neater package than leaving it loose amongst everything else in my bag. Nothing elaborate about the sleeve, but it is useful and I am glad it is there. This feels like an umbrella I will want to keep rather than one I tolerate until the next one comes along. A really pleasing purchase.

Guy Manning

We've found it a very useful umbrella.

For anyone wanting decent coverage without giving up a smart appearance, I'd recommend this. It feels well put together and the simple finish looks especially nice. The canopy opens quickly at a touch. You do have to push the stem down yourself after the canopy closes, but that's a small thing. We've found it a very useful umbrella.
