I thought this would be a nice umbrella for my grandson. Some of the comments made me hesitate, but I needn't have worried. Now he's asking when it will rain. It all seems put together nicely, so I'm glad I went ahead with it. The button works beautifully, and believe me he's already tested it quite a few times.

Feels sturdy.
1. Cute to look at2. Feels sturdy.3. Keeps the rain off nicely & at least my head and shoulders are not soaked when I'm out in it.4. Enough cover without looking huge - I am 5ft 2 and slim, and it doesn't dwarf me when I carry it. Basically a sensible size for a smaller woman, which is what I wanted.
Julie Hess
A handy umbrella to have around.
Useful to carry when the forecast can't make its mind up. It's compact enough for my bag and not much weight to bring along just in case. Mine measures about 40cm folded, rather than the tiny size I'd pictured. The button saves having to force it open by hand, and the canopy feels secure once up. A handy umbrella to have around.

Living beside the lake meant I was forever replacing umbrellas that couldn't cope with the wind. I looked around before settling on this one, and it's been such a relief not worrying about it every rainy day. It's handled the rain well and after four years it's still the one I reach for!

Will see how it feels outside.
Lovely looking umbrella, although straight out of the box I wasn't certain how sturdy a folding one would be. The frame has a lot going on and I wanted to try it before saying much. Button worked fine and everything looked neatly finished. Will see how it feels outside.UPDATE TO FIVE STARS
Have now used it in the rain and I'm much happier about the construction. It sits nicely in my hand and gives good cover without needing a big long umbrella. Still think it looks lovely, but it's useful as well, which is what matters.
Ricardo Freeman
That's a shame because it feels quite solid.
The plan was to leave this in my bag, but the folded size takes up more room than I'd allowed for. That's a shame because it feels quite solid. Wind turned it inside out on its second outing and I thought that would be the end of it. It went back into shape though and is still working fine.

She thinks it looks nice and it covers her really well!!
After the last umbrella gave up within days, I wanted something sturdier for my eight year old daughter. She's already spun this round, opened it over and over and taken it to school. She thinks it looks nice and it covers her really well!! A little long for her backpack when folded, but she's happy carrying it. So far it's handled her rather enthusiastic use and a few windy walks without flipping, which is more than I can say for the old one.

Now I just need to remember where I put it!
This was a rather impulsive birthday choice, not something I spent ages comparing. Turns out it's probably the nicest umbrella I've owned, and carrying something that looks good does make wet days less dreary. REALLY WELL MADE, much better than the basic ones I usually end up with. Now I just need to remember where I put it!

folds down neatly and hasn't been a nuisance to carry.
two years of regular use and this umbrella has earned its place in my bag. it's been with me around europe, canada and new england, with more than enough rainy walks along the way. folds down neatly and hasn't been a nuisance to carry. i've felt well covered, even on blustery days it hasn't flipped!! for something i use so often, it's held up really nicely. still the one i reach for when the sky turns grey.

Mine stayed the right way round and I stayed dry.
Funny timing. It rained the day after this turned up and I was walking with a friend. His umbrella flipped in a gust and he spent ages trying to sort it out, which did make me laugh. Mine stayed the right way round and I stayed dry. Eventually he shut his and carried on getting wet. This one made that walk a lot less hassle for me.

Getting soaked is a horrible feeling so I wanted a umbrella that worked but didn't look like every other one. Spotted this while wandering around the webz and I have pretty much fallen for it. The closed oval handle is what caught my eye, a little different without making the umbrella awkward to use. It feels well made and the sleeve is handy for putting it away when it's dry. Very happy with it and would suggest it to anyone wanting something practical that still has a bit of personality.

Long live a sturdy umbrella!
Long live a sturdy umbrella! 😊 The frame looks substantial and the finish is neat. It is heavier and a little bulkier than some compact umbrellas, which is worth considering if you want something barely noticeable to carry. For me, that extra substance is a fair trade for how solid it feels. The button action is straightforward as well. Overall, i am impressed with the quality and quite content to use it.

Listed as roughly 105cm across when open.
Listed as roughly 105cm across when open. I haven't got a tape measure out, but the size is good for me. There is a reassuring sturdiness to it too. Only tried it in light rain up to now, so that's all I can speak for. Worth considering if you want useful coverage without a full-length umbrella.

My umbrella has just arrived and I'm very Impressed with it.
My umbrella has just arrived and I'm very Impressed with it. The shape is lovely and the whole thing feels nicely finished. This is my first purchase from Haven and it's made a good impression.I couldn't quite make up my mind at first, then ended up buying two.

This is a smart-looking, nicely finished umbrella.
This is a smart-looking, nicely finished umbrella. It feels substantial and has stayed steady in gusts. There's good coverage for one that folds away (though it's not the tiniest thing to carry). If you want to move beyond a flimsy emergency umbrella -- this feels like a proper one.
Jackson Frederick
This feels like a proper, well put together umbrella.
My wife was after something sturdier than the flimsy umbrellas she'd used before. This feels like a proper, well put together umbrella. Of Course it doesn't fold quite as small as some, but that's a trade off she's fine with. It's been reliable in the rain and seems made for regular use rather than just looking good.
Allison Tran
It was for my sister, and I think it makes a lovely present.
Living in a small town, I don't see much like this in the local shops. Finding something with this look and feel usually means a long drive into the city, followed by the whole business of parking and walking around a big mall. Buying it here saved me that. It was for my sister, and I think it makes a lovely present. Not a bargain-basement umbrella - but it doesn't feel like one either. I was surprised by how substantial it felt when I opened it up. I'd consider one for myself as well. Four stars from me, mostly because I haven't had anything similar to compare it against and I tend to leave room at the top. A definite YES as a present or for your own bag. It feels like money sensibly spent, rather than paying for something pretty that won't get used.
Guy Waters
This has suited me so well.
I'd been trying to find something I could carry easily but still use on my commute to midtown manhattan when the weather gets unpleasant. This has suited me so well. It fits in my bag and the breezes between buildings haven't sent it inside out. Such a relief not to be the girl fighting with her umbrella while everybody walks past. I have enough cover for myself without taking over the sidewalk with a huge golf umbrella. That's important when there's barely room to get through as it is.
Connor Bradley
Lovely blue colour, feels sturdy, and I'm pleased I ordered it.
Packed carefully and here "Just in Time" for my Miami trip! Lovely blue colour, feels sturdy, and I'm pleased I ordered it. Mostly wanted it for some shade from the sun; it suits that nicely. Seemed reasonably priced too; might well get a second one. Thanks very much.

The big showy demonstrations don't mean much to me.
I tend to roll my eyes at dramatic umbrella advertising, but this one has done its actual job very well. There comes a point with nasty weather when being indoors is the sensible option, whatever umbrella you own. I'd recommend it for the rain and gusts most of us actually walk through. The big showy demonstrations don't mean much to me. Holding something out of a moving car is not the same as standing in a storm with rain coming at you from all directions. isn't staying dry on a normal walk the thing you really want to know about?
Wendy Kim
Handy for dressed up days when rain threatens!
Chose this as a gift because I use a similar umbrella myself. To me it's one for keeping nice, especially when you've just had your hair done. There is a decent amount of cover, though I wouldn't call it tiny to carry. Handy for dressed up days when rain threatens!
Marie Tran
As an umbrella, though, it has done exactly what I wanted.
Kept me dry through the heavy rain we've had lately, which is the main thing. One star held back for the carrying side of it once it's wet. It comes with a sleeve, but I don't generally take that with me when I'm already using the umbrella on the way out. When the rain stops I then have a damp folded umbrella to carry, and it feels a bit bulky in my hand. Packing it neatly enough to get into the sleeve takes a little arranging too. Not a big problem, just something I notice. As an umbrella, though, it has done exactly what I wanted.

Thank you!
These gray umbrellas are really elegant, nice and sturdy without feeling awkward to carry. Hopefully my daughter's wedding won't call for rain cover, but they'll be useful for a bit of shade as well...I spent quite a while comparing different umbrellas and prices before choosing these. Very glad I did, they look much nicer than I expected for the money. Happy to recommend them and pleased to have one less thing to worry about. Thank you!

For the money, the construction seems very decent.
For the money, the construction seems very decent. My problem with little folding umbrellas is usually that they feel flimsy and leave half of me outside the canopy. This gives me enough coverage, including when I am carrying a backpack, without feeling like a huge umbrella. It has been fine in light or moderate wind too, so I can see it being useful for students. The handle feels comfortable enough, although I wonder if it'll still feel as good after lots of use. Nothing to complain of yet.
Kelly Hobbs
I am satisfied with the umbrella and recommend it.
Thank you for the shipment, and for packing the parcels together; receiving everything at the same time was convenient. I am satisfied with the umbrella and recommend it. The button took a moment for me to understand, as I was barely pressing it. With a firmer press it opens easily, so there is no difficulty now.
Cathy Livingston
I've read comments describing this sort of umbrella as flimsy.
I've read comments describing this sort of umbrella as flimsy. To me, a bit of flex in the ribs isn't the same thing as something being badly made. There is some movement in the frame (I don't have a better word for it), but it doesn't feel loose to me. Mine has been used a lot and I'm still satisfied with it.As for the shade, that's where I really appreciate it. Being underneath is so much nicer than having the sun beating straight down on my head. I get overheated pretty easy, and being able to take my hat off while still having shade makes being outside more comfortable. It comes along on the trail and in our kayak b/c sometimes I need that break from the sunshine. Folding it up afterwards is handy too, rather than trying to find space for a long umbrella. It's made those sunny outings much more pleasant. Most of the time it stays in the car so I don't leave it behind.

A very good everyday umbrella.
Not the smallest folded umbrella you could put in a handbag, but I'll take the extra bulk for the cover it gives. Wind is a nuisance where I live and I've had plenty of umbrellas that weren't up to much. BUT this one has been dependable and feels properly put together. It lives in the side pocket of my backpack, the bit usually meant for a water bottle, so it's there when the weather changes. After two years I'm still happy to carry it. A very good everyday umbrella.

Arrived quickly and was packed nicely.
Arrived quickly and was packed nicely. It was for my dad and we tested it together, everything worked well. No photo from me as he's left it at work! Looks just like the pictures and description, feels solid in the hand, and he's really happy with it. Many thanks 🙏

I didn't have great hopes for how long this would last with my son, but months later it's still doing fine. I do remind him it isn't for scraping along the pavement or waving about all day, which probably helps. People keep saying how sweet he looks carrying it, so that part has been fun too. At one point a reporter even wanted to talk to him b/c of his little umbrella outing (he was very pleased with himself :-)

This handle was a good idea.
This handle was a good idea. Not the usual hook but a loop, and for this kinda umbrella it is comfortable to carry. I been thinking about little ways to make getting around easier, never saw many like this in Rhode Island. Looked around online and WHAM! There already is such a thing. Funny how you can be thinking of an idea and somebody already has it made.I would recommend this kind for people walking, catching a bus or taxi in RI. It still needs holding of course, is not hands free. But little changes to the ordinary things can be useful. Maybe people just do not think much about improving their daily traveling stuff.
Crystal Armstrong
This is a nice buy.
This is a nice buy. I like the straightforward styling/oval loop handle. The grip isn't an open hook, it's a CLOSED loop, which feels comfortable in my hand. There are 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy, so it has a nicely structured feel without being a huge stick umbrella. That sums up the appeal - a folding umbrella with a proper LOOP to hold onto.Very handy.

Putting it away takes some effort...
I wanted something that didn't feel flimsy when the wind got up, and this has made me happy on that score. The grip is a little short for my liking though. Putting it away takes some effort...the canopy closes with the button but the shaft needs pressing down by hand. Fine once I found my knack, just not quite as effortless as getting it open:)

We get a LOT of rain in Portland.
We get a LOT of rain in Portland. Wanted something my son could carry for our long walks to school. He actually enjoys taking this umbrella out, which makes those wet mornings easier for both of us. The button is simple for him to use and the cover is good. He's had nice comments on it too, so I'm pleased.
Joel Lozano
This umbrella means business.
This umbrella means business. Big enough to stop the rain sneaking onto my shoulders. Big enough that I'm not hunched underneath it. And STILL folds into something I can carry about. It got a proper soaking in Boston and came through looking just fine. Not asking it to perform miracles, but I'm impressed with what it does. Five stars.
Ellen Barajas
Compact and handy, but please don't use it for sword practice.
Compact and handy, but please don't use it for sword practice. My roommate was swinging it around and that's not what I bought it for.Its useful in the rain, although I'd prefer a little more coverage. I'd pick a longer style if carrying size wasn't important, but for something to keep with you this does well.
Hayley Jimenez
It gives good cover and the button works nicely.
I'd been looking forward to trying this and liked it straight away. It gives good cover and the button works nicely. However, the oval handle took me a little while to get comfortable with. I kept changing my grip at first, which was distracting. That might just be how I hold it, so I'd still suggest giving it a try.
Darryl Beltran
Back for another and just as happy as before.
Back for another and just as happy as before. I don't often get excited about spending money on umbrellas but this one has earned it. Excellent value, opens into a really useful amount of cover and doesn't feel flimsy when a breeze picks up. I can actually relax under it instead of watching every little gust. I was even told I should have suggested getting two, not just one. Fair point, that can be the next purchase. Would recommend it many times over 😂 💯 💯 💯 💯

What a PRETTY umbrella!
What a PRETTY umbrella! I picked cream white for a bridal "shower" gift, since it fitted in with her wedding colours so nicely. With all the things you end up paying for when you're in a wedding, finding something sweet that isnt another big expense was a relief. This felt different from the usual presents and she was delighted with it. Everybody wanted a look! You dont always think of an umbrella as a present. Now I'm looking forward to seeing it in the wedding photos. For a bride getting married somewhere rainy, I think its such a cute idea. I'd definitely buy another for a future shower!

This took the place of an umbrella I lost.
This took the place of an umbrella I lost. It gives me good cover on the morning walk to the subway, without having to carry a great long umbrella all day. So far the wind hasn't turned it inside out. Oddly enough, I tend to hold it partway up the stem instead of using the loop at the bottom.
Russell Dennis
I've ended up with two because the first has been so useful.
I've ended up with two because the first has been so useful. They fold down to a sensible size and don't feel flimsy when there's a breeze. The flexible frame seems to give a little rather than feeling rigid in your hand. One gust caught mine at an awkward angle and I felt the ribs give, then settle again once I adjusted the angle. No damage that I could see.
Sonia Fleming
We've had no trouble using ours in normal wind and rain.
My girlfriend needed an umbrella so I chose this after getting one for myself. I pay more attention to how the frame is put together now, having used enough flimsy umbrellas in the past. The ribs on this have some give rather than feeling brittle, and the centre shaft feels solid when it's open. We've had no trouble using ours in normal wind and rain. I can't say what years of use will do, but this seems a sensible buy.
Madison Hurst
Couldn't be more pleased with how it's done.
Plenty of room for us both standing close, feels solid, springs open with a quick button press and people have even commented on how nice it looks. I've had it out in gusty rain and it kept its shape rather than flipping over. Couldn't be more pleased with how it's done.
Patty Torres
Solid umbrella without all the bulk of a long one.
Solid umbrella without all the bulk of a long one. The frame has a reassuring feel to it and it's handled the rain and wind we've had here well. Exactly the sort of thing I wanted to leave in the car or take into the office. I wouldn't bother with something flimsy for New England weather. Happy to recommend this if you want decent coverage without carrying a giant umbrella around.
Frederick Garrett
I still think it's a very good umbrella.
After getting fed up with replacing flimsy umbrellas, I decided to pay a little more for something that seemed better made. I think it was worth it.The frame feels substantial compared with the cheap ones I used before. The 30 ribs have some give, rather than feeling brittle, and it has coped well with the wind I've had so far. I would rather buy one decent umbrella than keep paying for replacements. It is a useful size too. Enough cover for me, but I can still pack it away rather than carry a long umbrella everywhere. The closed oval handle was something I wasn't sure about, but I actually like it. A few people have commented on the unusual shape, which is nice. For the money, I am being more careful about not leaving this one behind. My only real adjustment has been packing it down. The button folds the canopy, then the telescoping stem has to be pushed in by hand. That last push takes a little effort, but once I got used to that I didn't mind it. I still think it's a very good umbrella.
George Barnes
This one has been just as handy.
After losing my last umbrella while I was away on vacation, I needed a replacement. This one has been just as handy. It looks pretty, and the button opens it and folds the canopy without a fuss. It doesn't feel heavy to carry, but it still feels solid when there is a bit of wind.
Stacy Frye
Thank you, it really made her happy!
Another umbrella for my mother's collection and she's been smiling about it ever since. She's hoping for some rain so her friends can see this one. Thank you, it really made her happy! She's 84 and found the button easy to use without help. Now I'm tempted to order one for myself too

Not sure why the reveiw is under another colour.
Not sure why the reveiw is under another colour. Mine is gray.I was worried cuz of comments saying these dont last, but I had mine about two years or so. It mostly stayed in my trunk. Probably not the nicest place to keep it, I'll admit that. Really liked the umbrella and I'd have the same one again.
Russell Lutz
For my use this one's been great.
After roughly a year of using this about weekly, for rain as well as a little shade, I'm still pleased with it. The button mechanism has kept working nicely. At this price I didn't have huge expectations for longevity, but it's done well so far. One thing I'd suggest checking before buying is the coverage. I'm 5' 10" and it shelters my head and upper body fine, but rain blowing in from the side still catches my legs and shoes. That isn't a fault with how it works, just a limit of the size. If staying dry much further down is important to you, a bigger canopy would probably make more sense. For my use this one's been great.
Lindsay Graham
So far it has behaved itself nicely
My last umbrella could make a public performance out of the smallest gust, and I was getting rather tired of it. I bought this hoping for something less embarrassing. So far it has behaved itself nicely; the canopy also leaves room for my bag beside me, which is a welcome bonus.
Mercedes Burgess
Would recommend it without hesitation.
Have had one for myself, bought one for a friend, and now keep another as a spare. Once you get used to having an umbrella that feels dependable, you don't much want to be without one... That is how I ended up with an extra. Would recommend it without hesitation. And using the button is straightforward, which is one of the things I appreciate most.
