The pink was what caught my eye, and then I started reading umbrella reviews and worrying that I'd picked something flimsy. I was almost expecting to be disappointed when I unpacked it, but it felt so...nicely put together! Much nicer in my hands than in a little picture. It goes out with me most days now, sometimes for rain and sometimes just for a patch of shade. The frame feels sturdy, although I wouldn't go waving it around in a strong gust and expect miracles. Give it some room when you press the opening button, too! The sleeve is handy for carrying it once it's dry, but I have to remember where I put that. (That's my problem, not the umbrella's!) If you're wondering about coverage, the open canopy is about 105cm across. Enough over me without feeling like I'm walking around with something meant for the beach. Folded it's about 40cm long, so do actually picture that against your bag rather than expecting a tiny pocket umbrella. The oval handle is a closed loop, which feels quite comfortable in my hand...a bit different looking, in a nice way. I'm so satisfied with how this turned out! Pink and useful, not just pretty. =) A very happy find!!!!!!!!!

This umbrella looks great and do the job.
This umbrella looks great and do the job. Arrived two days after it was sent out so that was good too. The beige is a soft shade, not yellowy, and look more expensive than it is. Opening with the button is very easy, no struggling with little catches. I thought the loop handle might make the whole thing feel heavy but it is comfortable enough to carry. Good choice for the money.

Seeing this umbrella again made me smile.
Seeing this umbrella again made me smile. I'd retired my old one (I think my daughter's rough handling had more to do with that than the quality) and really missed it. Getting another was an easy decision. People keep telling me how nice it looks, and it's a small thing that makes rainy days a little more cheerful.
Janet Gonzales
More importantly she's stayed dry underneath it.
My lady really likes the green, and she's taken to this umbrella straight away. One press gets it open, which she finds handy, and the finish looks neat -- nothing fussy, just a nice-looking umbrella. More importantly she's stayed dry underneath it. Once it's folded, it goes into her bag without taking over, so she actually remembers to bring it along.

I'm happy with my choice!
I went with Cream White. First thought was that it's quite substantial for a folding umbrella. For me this is one to take out when rain is expected, not one to leave forgotten in my bag every day. There's definitely some weight there, though it also feels reassuring in the hand. Once open the coverage is generous, with room for a second person if we stay close. For one person it is almost more umbrella than needed. I'm happy with my choice!

Its been out in the rain several times.
Had mine a few weeks now. Its been out in the rain several times. Packs down neatly for a compact umbrella. The opening button has a good positive action, and another press folds the canopy in. The ribs feel more substantial than the skinny ones I've had before. Has felt steady in normal rainy weather. Can recommend it.
Becky Gilbert
It still folds up, but feels like a proper umbrella when it's open.
I'd worked through several disappointing "travel" umbrellas before giving this one a go. What a relief. It still folds up, but feels like a proper umbrella when it's open. The fabric and frame both seem substantial. Looks smart, too. Glad I spent the money on it.
Kirsten Bush
Coverage is a little limited, but it suits me.
A very pretty umbrella, nice enough for someone in a wedding party or just for a bit of shade on your face. Coverage is a little limited, but it suits me. Delivery was much faster than I'd anticipated. I'm pleased with it and would be happy to buy the same one again.
Ann Hall
Bought it for rainy days in the bleachers at sporting events.
Bought it for rainy days in the bleachers at sporting events. It gives me decent cover, though I have to be thoughtful about where I hold it so people behind can still see. My husband can lean in beside me, but it isn't roomy for two. Only used it twice so far and I'm still wondering how the fabric will wear. Fine up to now, just too early to judge that part.
Sylvia Reynolds
Handle is a bit small for my hand though.
Its put together nicely... Handle is a bit small for my hand though. Not the most comfortable grip for me . also the cream white looks softer than I expected... I wanted something really bright white. I mean its still a nice looking umbrella.... Just not quite what I pictured. Easy enough to carry with me so overall I'm pleased.
Jaclyn Odonnell
Happy to find that at a reasonable price
Where I live there's usually a breeze, with rain and drizzle mixed in. Reminds me of the umbrellas we used years ago that felt properly made, rather than something disposable. It's stayed steady on my walks so far and hasn't tried to drag me along. Happy to find that at a reasonable price; I'd been looking at similar umbrellas costing a great deal more.
Xavier Barrera
I am so happy with this umbrella.
I am so happy with this umbrella. We had plenty of rain coming and the bus home wasn't running for two months, which meant walking a mile each day. It feels sturdy and has kept me dry on that walk. A good sized canopy, which is what I wanted. It has been a very good buy for me.
Carlos Stokes
didnt expect a compact umbrella to last me this well.
it's been through rainy days and plenty of windy weather, travelling with me in europe, canada and new england. two years of regular use and i'm still happy with how it has held up. folds down enough to go in my handbag, which is where it lives most of the time. i've not had it turn inside out on me!! didnt expect a compact umbrella to last me this well. i'll happily keep using this one.

I bought two of these, both in Gray.
I bought two of these, both in Gray. Initially I was looking for something very traditional and exceptionally tough, then I stopped to think about the weather I actually go out in. If a storm is bad enough that rain is travelling sideways, I doubt my choice of umbrella is going to save my trousers. That brought me back to finding something solid and sensible for everyday rain, which is how I ended up here.
The appearance was a pleasant surprise when I unpacked them. Gray can be a rather dull colour, but this looks understated rather than dreary to me. The black underneath gives it a finished look too. Nothing about it strikes me as overly fussy, which I appreciate. I would rather have a fairly plain umbrella than one with lots of decoration that I get tired of seeing.
The handle was the next thing I noticed. It is a closed oval loop, quite different from the familiar curved handle. I suppose that shape will not appeal to everybody, but I don't find it unattractive. The button is straightforward to use and it opens without the usual business of pushing everything up yourself.
There are two minor reservations behind my four stars. First, it has a bit more weight to it than I expected from a compact umbrella. I plan to leave mine in the trunk, so this matters less to me than it might to somebody carrying it all day. Second, the button closes the canopy, not the whole telescoping shaft. You finish shortening that by hand. It works as intended, though I would prefer not to have that extra step when putting it away.
A sleeve is included, and I am glad of that because things in my trunk do get moved about and rub against each other. On balance I would make the same purchase again. I would be comfortable giving one as a gift too...a sensible, decent looking umbrella is not a bad thing to have waiting when the rain starts.
Collin Maxwell
Well, another happy umbrella owner here...
Well, another happy umbrella owner here...This thing is brilliant. Folded up it's about forearm length, so I can actually take it along. Press the button and suddenly there's a BIG canopy over you! Much more cover than I expected from something that folds. Looks just like the listing pictures as well, no surprises there. Definitely keeping this one handy for the rain!
Tami Adams
These feel nicely made and he's pleased with them.
My husband now has two of these black umbrellas, one in his truck and the other at work. My own compact umbrella has served me well, while the ones he was hanging onto were looking pretty sorry for themselves. He finally cleared those out and wanted the same sort I use. Good choice! A compact one makes sense to me because it can go into my purse when needed, instead of being left somewhere. These feel nicely made and he's pleased with them.

I tend to stick with an umbrella when it lasts.
I tend to stick with an umbrella when it lasts. The last one did four years before I replaced it (nothing had snapped--the cloth was just getting thin enough to see daylight through). This one has been with me a year or so now, and the frame and button still feel as good as when it was new.
Nancy Lamb
Picked up a few of these to leave where they're handy.
Picked up a few of these to leave where they're handy. One can stay in the car, and they fit in a briefcase or suitcase without much trouble. They do what I need, though they don't strike me as particularly heavy duty. I'd hesitate to rely on one in a big storm. I expect I'll be replacing them after a while.
Joanne Murillo
Might have to get more before these disappear too.
Picked up 2 because I like having one handy and the kids keep walking off with mine. These have been a good choice: solid feel, neat finish and simple button operation(!). Plenty of cover when it's raining, and they pack away without a fuss afterwards. Might have to get more before these disappear too.

I can't get over how well this umbrella works and how smart it looks.
I can't get over how well this umbrella works and how smart it looks. It has been dependable every time I've taken it out, and feels made to last. I used to be forever looking for another umbrella because the last one hadn't lasted.... This one has given me far more confidence in the rain. Absolutely delighted with my choice!!! A big thumbs up!!
Felicia Leblanc
Impressively solid umbrella with a substantial feel.
Impressively solid umbrella with a substantial feel. The flexible ribs give it a reassuring bit of strength. Not the lightest thing to carry, and you still push the stem down after the button shuts the canopy, but an excellent choice for wet weather. Thoroughly satisfied
Hannah Cole
Solid but not heavy, neat, useful...
The clever thing about this umbrella is how much coverage comes out of something so easy to carry. Solid but not heavy, neat, useful... My luck with umbrellas hasn't been wonderful, and this one gives me much more confidence. There's a reassuring snap when it opens automatically. The canopy closes at the button too. Two of us can stand close together underneath, which is handy! The black makes it look smart and goes with everything rather than shouting for attention. Easily my favourite umbrella so far: I would recommend it without any hesitation.
Jocelyn Ramos
Good umbrella all round.
Good umbrella all round. The construction has a solid feel and it shows when you use it. Press once and it springs open, press again to draw the canopy in, then shorten the stem by hand. The loop grip sits comfortably in my hand too.Glad I spent the money on it.
Nancy Bartlett
It's kept me dry and I'm completely happy with it.
I walk most places since I don't have a car, and I'm not someone who usually takes a bag. So I needed something manageable to carry around. This folds down neatly, though it's not jacket-pocket small, and the loop handle gives me a secure grip. Feels SOLID, which I wasn't expecting from a folding umbrella, and it goes up quickly. There's room for me underneath rather than a whole group, but that's fine. It's kept me dry and I'm completely happy with it.
Roy Contreras
This has been a very good fit.
Walking around New York means my umbrella gets a fair amount of use. I wanted quick opening, something I could carry easily when folded, and a frame that didn't feel flimsy when the weather turned. This has been a very good fit. The canopy gives me enough room without taking over the pavement, although I still have to be considerate when passing people. On the windy walks I've used it for, it has stayed in shape and kept me covered. The closing action is worth understanding before you use it with your hands full. Pressing the button folds the canopy, but you still have to push the telescoping pole in manually. I'd prefer not to have that extra step with my hands full, but it is manageable once you know to expect it. I find it easiest to stop and do that properly rather than trying to rush it while getting into a cab. Once folded, it's a manageable size to carry. Overall, the convenience and solid feel are exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered this as a present and it is such a sweet looking umbrella.
I ordered this as a present and it is such a sweet looking umbrella. Suits the person it is meant for perfectly. I held it over me and my husband to check the cover (we aren't little people!) and we could squeeze under together. My one gripe, and why I've left a star off, was the dusty handle when I unpacked it . . . not what you want on a gift. Nothing awful, but I would have felt a bit silly handing it over looking like that. A rub with a clean old t-shirt took the dust away and it looked lovely again. Now I've spent time inspecting it and trying it out, I rather want it myself! I won't pinch somebody's present, but it's tempting. Very cute and much nicer once I had given it that little clean!
Mark Frank
For those short stretches it has been exactly what I need.
I don't expect a folding umbrella to be something I'd take out in the worst storm, and that's not what I bought this for. Most of my use is getting from the car to work or walking between classes when summer showers arrive out of nowhere. For those short stretches it has been exactly what I need. Easy to carry along, enough coverage, and no fuss when the rain starts.
Ernest Harrell
The frame looks reassuringly solid when it's open.
It packs down short, though it's a bit "chunky" around the middle. Not the absolute lightest one I've had, but light enough that I actually wanna take it with me. Haven't tried it out in serious wind so can't say much there. The frame looks reassuringly solid when it's open.
Tanner Lucero
Excellent umbrella for what it costs.
Excellent umbrella for what it costs. Everything feels solidly put together, and the weight sits well in the hand rather than pulling awkwardly one way. It has kept the rain off without fuss and felt steady on windy walks. The gray exterior looks smart too, and the canopy provides welcome shade in sunshine. Plenty of cover when opened, but still manageable to carry folded. I can't find much to fault.
Theresa Ponce
Easily my favorite of the folding umbrellas I've tried.
Easily my favorite of the folding umbrellas I've tried. Once opened it gives me proper coverage, and a couple of wet, blustery outings haven't troubled it. Folds down enough for my sling bag without a struggle. Very handy to leave in the car or take along to the office.
Earl Burgess
Only needed this a handful of times so far and it has done well.
Only needed this a handful of times so far and it has done well. My raincoat has very deep pockets, so I can tuck the folded umbrella into one with some sticking out.The button action is smooth and convenient.I haven't been out with it in much wind yet, though the frame gives me a reassuring impression.

Who knew a gray umbrella could look SO nice.
Rainy days don't bother me nearly as much now! Who knew a gray umbrella could look SO nice. It has a lovely understated look instead of looking dull, and I actually enjoy carrying it. The strength was a nice surprise for what I paid, too. It feels substantial without being a chore to carry around, and the oval handle gives it a distinctive look. This is something I'd happily give to those friends who are impossible to find presents for.
Karen Dodson
An attractive umbrella and I'm delighted with mine!
An attractive umbrella and I'm delighted with mine! Nothing to grumble about. Took me a moment to discover the button isn't only for opening; another press pulls the canopy closed. I still compress the shaft afterwards, but that extra button function was a pleasant surprise! :)
Billy Bradshaw
I've liked it in ordinary rain.
I pictured something closer to the tiny folding umbrellas that disappear into a jacket pocket. This isn't quite that. At roughly 40cm folded and 390g, it takes up more room in a bag, especially around the canopy end. The folded fabric and all the ribs make that end broader than the handle, so it isn't a perfectly slim cylinder. It goes in my messenger bag, but I do have to allow space rather than dropping it into any little gap. The sleeve is handy for keeping it contained. That said, the extra substance isn't wasted. Opened up, it gives decent coverage and feels like a *proper* umbrella rather than something for a dash across a car park. The handle gives me a secure grip and the shaft feels firm. The flexible ribs also look reassuring without feeling rigid and brittle. I've liked it in ordinary rain. Overall a good tradeoff if you want something portable but substantial; just don't expect the very smallest pocket umbrella.
Bob Buck
watch how you hold it if the wind gets up.
Every day at work I use it for shade rather than rain, and it makes being out in the sun much more comfortable. One thing though... watch how you hold it if the wind gets up. A gust can get underneath and give your arm quite a tug, so I keep a proper grip. Very happy with it for keeping the sun off.
Fred Leblanc
Very happy with how it's lasted.
More than five years on and this umbrella is still the one I reach for. Smaller ones have come and gone while this has kept going, which says something.I haven't had the canopy flip over on me. It feels solid when the wind picks up, although that doesn't mean you can just hold it loosely. I keep a good grip because a gust will still pull it sideways, even when the shape stays put. the sturdiness is what I appreciate most, but it also means you feel that wind in your hand. Very happy with how it's lasted.
Troy Roman
A few nice comments on it already.
The green makes a wet day feel a bit less dull. Opening and folding the canopy are both done with the button, which is handy, but you have to shorten the shaft completely before it's ready to open again. I didn't realise that on the first rainy outing and spent a moment wondering what I was doing wrong. A few nice comments on it already. Much easier now I've worked out that last little step of putting it away.
Arthur Sutton
Still fits in my purse - so the size works for me.
One drawback - pushing it back to its folded length DOES take some effort. The button handles opening and closing the canopy, but the last push is yours. It is lovely to look at though, and there's a surprising amount of room underneath. Still fits in my purse - so the size works for me.
Michaela Costa
The umbrella feels sturdy and the closed loop handle is solid.
The umbrella feels sturdy and the closed loop handle is solid. After two outings in the rain, the coverage has been good. However, putting it away is less convenient. The button gathers the canopy, but shortening the telescoping section takes a firmer press than I expected. That's normal operation, I understand that. It does go back down and stays neatly folded. I just don't find that last part particularly comfortable, so for me it's an average buy.
Sydney Mckay
Solid umbrella, feels strong.
Solid umbrella, feels strong. It's windy where I live and the gaps between buildings on campus make it worse. Other umbrellas I've carried have turned inside out there, whereas this has coped well on those walks so far.Its nice looking too.I'd recommend it for anyone after a sturdy umbrella at a sensible price.
Marisa Watts
I'd got tired of little umbrellas turning over when the weather…
I'd got tired of little umbrellas turning over when the weather got rough, so wanted something more dependable. This one gives me good coverage and has coped well with the rain and wind so far. A bit weighty to have along all day, but I'll take that for the sturdier feel.
Levi Davidson
The size is worth being clear about.
This has turned out to be a much better umbrella than I expected. The feel of it in my hand and the overall appearance both make me happy with the purchase. I hesitated before ordering because some less positive reviews had me wondering whether it would suit me. The size is worth being clear about. Open, it is around 105cm across, so I consider this an umbrella for myself, not something to squeeze two people underneath. I'm a student and wanted something I could take from class to class without carrying a huge umbrella about all day. My backpack needs covering too, and there's enough room to keep that and myself dry. It feels reassuringly solid in use. I've felt it pull against my hand when a gust catches it, but so far it has stayed in shape rather than turning inside out. The handle also deserves a mention because it isn't a traditional hook. It's an enclosed oval loop, which feels comfortable to hold, though the shape looked unusual to me in the pictures. That difference hasn't made it look cheap at all! I spent far too long comparing umbrellas, honestly, and am glad I settled on this one. It folds down small enough not to be a nuisance in a classroom, which was one of my main concerns. For carrying my own things between classes it has been just what I needed. Hope that helps somebody else deciding ;)

Should make a decent birthday gift.
I do a fair bit of backpacking and have wanted an umbrella that feels tough without being a great big thing to lug about. This one suits me nicely. Handy to hold while sorting things out at camp or just chillin out in a field with a bit of rain coming down. Keeps me covered, nothing complicated about it. Thinking of getting another for my second cousin who's getting into the outdoors too. Should make a decent birthday gift. Also didn't feel robbed on the price. Not at all

(Yes, this is apparently the stage of life I'm at now.
Enough wet soccer and baseball practices finally convinced me an umbrella was a perfectly good birthday request. (Yes, this is apparently the stage of life I'm at now.) This one feels solid, and even my 14 year old has been eyeing it for her own use. The button makes opening it simple and closing the canopy quick. Plenty of cover for me in my folding chair, which was the whole point.
Suzanne Burgess
as an umbrella it does what it's meant to do.
Spent quite a while reading umbrella reviews before choosing this and somehow didn't get a sense of the size. Maybe that was me not paying enough attention to the description. Nothing wrong with how it works, and it keeps the rain off just fine. I simply wanted a bit more space around me than this gives. It feels slightly close overhead. Anyway ... as an umbrella it does what it's meant to do.

I've spent my whole life in Texas and some summers are just brutal.
I've spent my whole life in Texas and some summers are just brutal. Hot.And then hotter. I wanted to keep doing things outside without standing in the sun the whole time. Having my own shade makes it much more comfortable, even when there isn't a cloud about. It stays in the car now so I have it on the less scorching days too.Not awkward to carry and feels well made. Glad I bought it!
Lance Bradley
Did a good job keeping the sun off me.
Used this for shade while working as a camera man all day outside. Did a good job keeping the sun off me. The ribs have some give but it feels sturdy, and managed the wind well. Havent tried rain yet so cant give an opinion there. Had a few bird droppings to clean off and the rinse water rolled straight off the fabric, so Id expect it to cope. Cant comment on using it on a trolley as i dont own one. For what I paid this seems very good value against some much pricier umbrellas. Feels like it should hold up well. 10/10 would get another
Anthony Wall
Light to hold, however feels quite well put together.
Light to hold, however feels quite well put together. I use this more for shade than for rain and it makes a noticeable difference on a sunny day. Standing underneath is much more comfortable than being directly in the sun. It also handles a little moving air without feeling flimsy, although I wouldn't choose it for very rough weather. In conclusion, a useful umbrella for sunny days, and it has done fine in ordinary rain as well.
Donna Ramirez
For ordinary showers the coverage has been quite adequate.
Overall: A useful folding umbrella for the car and for traveling, with enough coverage that I haven't felt the need to carry a bigger one most days. Convenient size when put away, though there are still compromises compared with a full-length umbrella.
For the money I think this is a sensible buy. Looking at it folded up, I wouldn't have guessed how much space there would be underneath once it opened. The automatic action is handy, although it doesn't make every part of putting the umbrella away automatic. Mine stays beside the seat in the car, and it has become the one I reach for rather than something I only keep there as a spare.
I would still take a larger umbrella if I knew I was going to be out in gusty weather for a long stretch. This is convenient because it folds into several sections, but that also makes me more conscious of how I'm holding it. I keep it facing the direction the rain is coming from and don't expect it to be something I can ignore in the wind. For ordinary showers the coverage has been quite adequate.
The button operation is probably my favorite part, with one qualification. Opening is quick, as is bringing the canopy closed, but you then have to compress the telescoping section yourself before packing it away. Not a major inconvenience, just not quite the one-step process the word automatic might suggest. It took a little getting used to.
On balance the useful coverage and small storage space matter more to me than that extra closing step. I'd consider another when I need a replacement, rather than give up the convenience.
Jimmy Barrett
At last, some rain to try this out in.
At last, some rain to try this out in. I've usually made do with those tiny folding umbrellas picked up while shopping, so this was a welcome change. Walking through the city I actually stayed dry. There was a breeze too, and people nearby were wrestling with their umbrellas while mine just carried on. I half expected it to look smug! For something as ordinary as an umbrella, this has made me ridiculously pleased.
