My expectations were pretty high--compact umbrellas with a button are my favourite, and I wanted something that didn't disappear among all the dark umbrellas on wet days. The pink certainly takes care of that. What surprised me more was the size when I opened it; I don't feel tucked under a tiny little roof with my bag sticking out. Yet folded up it still goes in the bag I normally carry. That balance is exactly what I was hoping for. We haven't had our first proper seasonal rain yet, and for once I'm actually keen for it to arrive.

A good amount of cover without feeling oversized.
Holding off on five stars simply because it's only been out with me a couple of times. It's handled the wind here in Chicago well so far and looks pretty nice too. A good amount of cover without feeling oversized. I'd suggest it to anyone wanting that sort of middle size umbrella.

I don't think I can explain how much I like this thing.
I don't think I can explain how much I like this thing. My little one insists on being under my umbrella with me, which usually means bumping feet and a wet shoulder for me. First outing was in a proper DOWNPOUR and we managed to stay together under it without getting soaked! There's a little weight to it, something to bear in mind, but I gladly carry that for the room we get. The plain black look suits me too, nothing fussy about it.

Feels like something I can keep using for a good while!
After the rain finally came here in California, it was clear my old umbrella needed replacing. This one looks smart and the button action is lovely and smooth, so I'm glad I went for it! Took me a while to settle on green because the other colours looked nice too. Feels like something I can keep using for a good while!

Really good umbrella and I love the beige color.
Really good umbrella and I love the beige color. Does its job and feels plenty sturdy. Taking off one Star because the price could be lower; I later saw one in a local shop for about half what I paid online.Oh, another thing, it isn't the really tiny sort of compact umbrella you can tuck anywhere in a backpack. Folded it's on the bigger side, though the extra coverage when open makes up for that so it doesn't bother me much. It also comes with a nice carrying sleeve to put it away in.
Leroy Ellis
Really pleased with this one.
Wanted something I could use for shade as well as showers, & this has been just right. It feels light when I'm carrying it about, which was a lovely surprise! I've had quite a few nice comments on it too. For the everyday use i had in mind I really couldn't ask for more. I wouldn't take it out in really fierce winds though. That's not what I wanted it for, and I don't think a handy compact umbrella is the thing to rely on in that sort of weather anyway. Really pleased with this one.
Jade Holmes
I'm especially happy that the shade looks like the photo!
This is my just-in-case umbrella for our wedding, and the pink is a lovely match for my colors. It looks sturdy and opens out to a useful size. I'm especially happy that the shade looks like the photo! Fingers crossed for dry weather, although I might still take it out for a few pictures because it's so pretty.

Easy to carry !
Easy to carry ! Barely any effort to get it open ! The fabric looks nice and the frame feels properly put together ! Waiting for some rain now ! Would be a handy holiday gift for those people who never seem to need anything ! The loop handle has won me over already !! Brilliant little thing !! Couldn't be happier !! So glad I ordered !! Ready to take it everywhere ! A very good buy !!

Rain decided to make an appearance on our wedding day!
Rain decided to make an appearance on our wedding day! We only knew a few days beforehand, so umbrellas suddenly became important. The pink ones looked so sweet in our pictures and were useful as well, not just something to pose with. We stood close together for a couple of the photos and stayed nicely covered. So glad we had them! They're folded away in our front room now, ready to use again rather than being wedding things we'll never touch. A lovely buy!

I found this umbrella afterwards.
A couple of months ago I got caught in the rain with nothing and came home soaked. Not fun.I found this umbrella afterwards. Now it's been out in another downpour and I stayed dry this time. Folds small enough to tuck into my backpack and doesn't take the whole thing over. It's a compact umbrella though, so don't buy it expecting the wide shelter you'd get from a giant one.
Kenneth Cordova
This umbrella does that nicely.
Sunscreen and my face don't get along, so I wanted something to give me shade when I'm outside. This umbrella does that nicely. I can angle the canopy over my face and usually my shoulders too; I'm not expecting it to shade the whole of me. Sunscreen is fine on my arms, so that arrangement works for me. It folds up, although it won't disappear into my little handbag, and the handle is a comfortable size to hold. The closed oval loop is useful for slipping a couple of fingers through briefly when I need to move something. I would miss that if it weren't there. The beige top is understated and I rather like the contrast of the black underside.I keep a close eye on it when I'm out because I'd hate somebody to wander off with it. Of course you still need one hand to hold an umbrella. For actual gardening, getting into the flower beds and using both hands, I'm back to wearing my broad brimmed hat.
Rebecca Harding
It's the quick opening and manageable size that won me over.
Initially meant this for the children, but I'm the one who keeps reaching for it. It's the quick opening and manageable size that won me over. I can hold it in one hand and have enough cover for myself without trying to wrestle a huge umbrella into place. That matters when getting into the car, because I can shut the canopy with the button rather than stand there struggling in the rain. The shaft still has to be pushed back down by hand afterwards, which is straightforward once you know the sequence. With the children I help with that part rather than expecting them to force it. I much prefer having a button to deal with than those little metal catches that seem determined to find your fingers. It isn't a tiny toy umbrella, but it is convenient enough that it has more or less become mine.
Sally Nicholson
It works with more of my clothes than I thought it would, too.
I love taking this umbrella out - the pink adds a bit of cheer when the weather is gloomy. It works with more of my clothes than I thought it would, too. There's good coverage overhead and the fabric doesn't feel flimsy at all. I'm already tempted to get another one ...
Sonia Dominguez
Folds into a practical size for taking along.
Folds into a practical size for taking along. It doesn't take up the space of a long umbrella, but there is still enough canopy when opened to shelter one person comfortably. Two would need to squeeze close together, so I see it mainly as a personal umbrella. A sensible thing to keep handy for an unexpected shower rather than being caught with nothing. Recommended.
Kevin Cantu
Very satisfied with both.
I've been using my first one for around two years, and bought another to keep at home. The old one still looks good, no tears and the button hasn't given me trouble. It does have a fair amount of flex in the frame. That takes a little getting used to if you expect an umbrella to stay completely rigid in a gust. Turning the canopy back after it catches the wind isn't the easiest thing with something in your other hand. I'd still rather have some give in it than something that just snaps under pressure. Very satisfied with both.
Helen Cross
Pressing the handle button brings it up straight away.
Generous cover when it's OPEN, but not a long awkward thing once packed away! The blue looks cheerful as well. I get around a large campus in an electric wheelchair, and an umbrella has to stay with me for the rest of the day, not just during the rain. My old little folding one left too much of my lap exposed. Carrying a long umbrella instead was a nuisance, especially dealing with the point afterwards. (never a handy place for it) This is a much more useful compromise for me. It doesn't shelter every bit of the chair, but gives me decent cover and is manageable to put away. Pressing the handle button brings it up straight away. Then, at a doorway or a car, a second press pulls the canopy together so I'm not fighting with it in the wet. That's the part I appreciate most. The pole doesn't shorten itself; I push that back in by hand once I'm inside. After it's dry, it goes into the sleeve and back with the chair, ready for next time.
Jerome Sutton
I would be sensible with it in wind, just as with any umbrella.
I'm a fairly "tall" guy, six feet, and I tend to carry umbrellas higher than most people seem to.That makes coverage important, and this one has enough for me without being huge. The cream white looks smart too!I like the automatic opening because there's no fiddling with a catch when I need cover. After about a month everything is still working as it should.I would be sensible with it in wind, just as with any umbrella. The oval handle was a little smaller than I expected from the pictures, and getting my hand settled around it took some getting used to. Once I'm holding it properly it feels secure though. All in all I think it is a good umbrella and worth what I paid.
Jesus Little
I let it dry before packing it away.
Having used it a bit longer, I'm happier with it than my first impression suggested.-------The bit that confused me was what automatic closing meant. I expected the WHOLE thing to shrink back down when I pressed the button. What actually happens is that the canopy folds, then you push the shaft back in by hand. That's normal, not a fault, but I had pictured something more automatic for the money. Once I understood that, using it was straightforward. The opening action is quick and it DOES feel solid in the wind. Folded up it's convenient to carry, although not the sort of tiny umbrella I'd put in a pocket. The sleeve is handy for keeping it together in my bag; I let it dry before packing it away. In my opinion, it's a good umbrella, even if my idea of automatic was a bit different. Four stars because the price still feels a little high, but I'm happy with how it performs.

A really attractive umbrella and the canopy opens wider than I had imagined from looking at it folded up. I haven't had rain to test it in yet but I reckon I'll be well covered. Might take up a little room passing people on the pavement, but I'd rather stay dry.
Eric Palmer
This umbrella looks lovely even when the day is miserable.
This umbrella looks lovely even when the day is miserable. Its enough cover for me, or a mom with a child, but not huge with edges catching everybody who walks past. Packed away it isn't a nuisance to carry either, it goes nicely in my tote bag or my bigger purse.

My nephew was delighted with his birthday umbrella.
My nephew was delighted with his birthday umbrella. His school friends all carry one and he was keen to join in. He takes it every day.It has coped with about a month of being used by a seven year old, so I'm pleased. Early days yet, but he loves having his own.
Monique Landry
The difference in shade is noticeable too.
My previous umbrella was disappointing for shade and never felt particularly solid. This one made a better impression as soon as I opened it. I looked at the places where the fabric is attached to the frame, since that was the weak point on my old one. Everything here looks neatly secured. Reassuring. The difference in shade is noticeable too. I don't have that sensation of sunlight coming straight through above my head, and standing underneath feels more comfortable than standing out in the sun. That matters to me more than fancy styling. The opening action is smooth and quick with the button. Another press brings the canopy together, then the shaft needs pressing back down by hand. Simple enough once you know the sequence. It is a little smaller than the umbrella I had before, but the convenience of carrying it folded makes that an easy compromise. I use an umbrella when walking my dog because I enjoy being outside without being in direct sunshine the whole time. For those walks, this has been a very satisfying improvement.

Needed a replacement after my old umbrella gave up in the wind.
Needed a replacement after my old umbrella gave up in the wind.I wanted something I'd actually enjoy taking out, not just another emergency purchase. This one has a nice simple look and feels reassuring when it's opened. I've enjoyed using it when the weather turns. :)Good coverage for me, and it doesn't feel flimsy at all!
Isaac Mills
It has been a really good umbrella.
Two years of using this in Guatemala and it's still doing the job! During the wet months i was opening it practically daily. It has been a really good umbrella. Plenty of cover when it's up without being a long awkward thing to pack away. if you're after something that can take regular use rather than needing replacing straight away, I'd happily recommend it.
Mercedes Stuart
Apart from that small preference, I'm very satisfied with it.
The appeal for me is useful rain coverage without having to carry a huge umbrella through New York City. The canopy is broader than the tiny folding umbrellas I keep in a bag, but it doesn't feel like I'm taking over the pavement every time I use it. I've used larger umbrellas for years and they're fine until you're trying to pass people on a busy street. At the other end, the really small ones are convenient to leave packed away but tend to leave my shoulders exposed in heavier rain. This falls into the useful middle ground for me. It has coped well with the wet, blustery days I've used it on so far. The loop handle is comfortable enough, although a thicker grip would give me a more secure hold. Apart from that small preference, I'm very satisfied with it.
Ivan Fitzgerald
Pretty happy with this umbrella.
Pretty happy with this umbrella. It came quickly and the whole thing feels nicely put together.
The little sleeve will probably stay in a drawer, i just can't see myself bothering to squeeze it back in every time - lol
We don't get much rain in the desert so i'll only need it now and then, but it's staying in the car where I can find it! The gray looks great!
Duane Singleton
This umbrella works nicely for that.
I travel quite a bit and wanted something sturdy that could just stay in my bag, so checking forecasts before every trip wouldn't be another thing to think about. This umbrella works nicely for that. Fits my backpack or carry on suitcase without trouble and opens out to a proper size, feels solid too.Glad I chose it!
Rick Ware
For the price I'm delighted with how solid it feels.
Plenty of space over my head and shoulders, and the frame feels STRONG without making it awkward to carry. It's been very good in the rain I've had so far, even with a bit of wind about. For the price I'm delighted with how solid it feels. I'd happily tell others to try it!
Dennis Salas
The umbrellas feel excellent quality and everyone liked the blue.
I gave these as Christmas gifts to the people who care for my autistic son. They went down so well ! The umbrellas feel excellent quality and everyone liked the blue. Having a sleeve with each one is handy as well. I'm glad I picked something they can actually use.

I wanted something to leave in my backpack for unexpected rain.
I wanted something to leave in my backpack for unexpected rain. It folds down enough to fit in there well and the price seemed fair. No trouble with it so far, it opens and keeps the rain off.I'm just not sure how substantial it would feel in a really stiff wind. Living in the windy city, and yes I know the name has more to do with politicians, I do still get actual wind to contend with. Maybe that's a lot to ask of a compact umbrella. I would prefer a slightly more hefty feel, but to be clear, nothing has gone wrong with mine.
Angelica Ayala
Hard to fault it for the price.
The construction feels substantial and the weight sits nicely in my hand, not all up at the top. The blue canopy keeps rain off well and has behaved nicely in the wind I've encountered. I've also used it for shade on a hot day and appreciated having it along. For an umbrella that folds away this neatly, the coverage is excellent. Hard to fault it for the price.

The umbrella is Wonderful for the Wife.....
The umbrella is Wonderful for the Wife.....the Cat has her own things for the shedding and her coat looks lovely.....the toys were for donating.....and the sponges are for wiping the shower when I'm finished ! Anyway the umbrella has a handy Button and she says it keeps her dry.....the Wife that is.....it folds away quite neatly too. The cat things are doing their job and the umbrella is doing its job.....so everybody is happy !

Over time that became less noticeable, although it still kept me dry.
I replaced the one I'd carried for five years after I lost it, not because it had worn out. It had been a dependable little umbrella for the windy streets between tall buildings, so I wanted another like it. The new one reminded me how readily the rain used to shake off the old one when it was new. Over time that became less noticeable, although it still kept me dry. I always leave it out of the sleeve for a while after using it rather than putting it away damp. That's not much trouble, and I'd rather give it time to dry properly than have a wet umbrella sitting in its case. Having a fresh one is nice, but I'm hoping to look after this one well enough that it stays with me just as long. Preferably without losing it this time.
Katelyn Bryant
It dries fairly quickly as well.
I've carried mine in my handbag most days for over a year and it's been dependable. No leaking, rust or tears, and it still opens smoothly. It dries fairly quickly as well. When my husband needed another umbrella, I picked the cream white one for him. His seems just as sturdy, and he can put it in his briefcase without sacrificing much space. There's a sleeve included too, if you like using one. The only thing that took practice was packing it down. Pressing the button draws in the canopy, but you still need to compress the shaft yourself before putting it away. I find that easier with both hands rather than trying to rush it. That little extra step hasn't put me off at all; being able to carry it comfortably every day is much more important to me.

Walking is part of every day for me, whatever the weather.
Walking is part of every day for me, whatever the weather. I used to just put up with getting rained on, but arriving at the office damp got old pretty quickly. This has made those walks much better. There's decent cover when it rains and it folds small enough for my shoulder bag, which was important to me. When I'm not carrying it, it fits in the side compartment of the car door. The opening works without fuss and it's felt steady in breezes so far. Wish I'd stopped being stubborn and got an umbrella earlier. I'd replace this with the same one.
Jaime Strong
Opened up it gives generous cover, even for two standing close.
The construction of these umbrellas is excellent, very impressive in the hand. Opened up it gives generous cover, even for two standing close. The many flexible ribs seem to keep the canopy steady when it's breezy. Folds to a convenient size for a backpack, and for the money I'd be happy to get two more.
Bianca Allen
Had my purse been larger I would have been pleased with the purchase.
Nice umbrella, but I didn't think enough about the folded length before buying it. It's around 40cm long closed, which is too much for my purse. Had my purse been larger I would have been pleased with the purchase. I can carry it in a bigger bag, but it doesn't solve what I wanted for that little purse. I still need a shorter one.
Chloe Mitchell
Good coverage over my shoulders as well.
Love having this along. It's the size I wanted and works like it should. The loop handle can feel a little unfamiliar, but I work in downtown Atlanta where it gets VERY breezy. In the rain I've had so far it has kept me dry without turning inside out. Good coverage over my shoulders as well. Easy recommendation from me.
Christy Rivers
Six months in, I'm very glad I chose this umbrella.
Six months in, I'm very glad I chose this umbrella. I normally have two or three bags with me, which makes a long umbrella one more awkward thing to carry. This fits into a bag and opens out enough to cover me and the bags when I keep them close. It feels substantial, rather than feather-light, but I prefer that to something that feels flimsy. Sydney gives it a fair amount of rain and gusty weather and it has coped well with my usual walks. Holding it is manageable even when I've got other things in my hands, which was an important point for me. The button opening and canopy closing make things easier too. I've wasted money on umbrellas that looked tired after a few months. This one still looks good after half a year of use, and I think the extra outlay was worthwhile.
Isaiah Walters
An excellent little umbrella to have handy.
One of those purchases that turns out to be much more useful than you thought! Solid, folds away neatly, and gives me my own patch of shade. I leave it in the car so it's there for beach days. Friends can settle themselves in the sunshine and I can still sit with them without having the sun right on me. It handles rain too, which makes it worth keeping around all the time. Very pleased with the quality for the money. An excellent little umbrella to have handy.
Jade Ward
I'd definitely recommend it.
Delighted with how dry this keeps me on rainy dog walks (the dog manages to get under some of it too). It's handy to open while I've got the lead in my other hand. Packing it away took a little getting used to, as the button shuts the canopy but I still push the shaft back down myself. Not a problem once you know. I'd definitely recommend it.
Carl Richardson

This got me through some thoroughly miserable weather without any trouble. It's not the tiniest or lightest folding umbrella, so if your after something that disappears in a pocket this probably isn't it. But for a grown man carrying a backpack, the coverage is good and it feels reassuringly solid in the hand.
Alec Trujillo
The styling of this umbrella is just what I wanted.
The styling of this umbrella is just what I wanted. I've not had a heavy downpour to try it in yet, but it has already managed some blustery weather. Having read the remarks about the build, I can see it isn't the most luxurious thing out there, though I don't think that makes it a bad purchase. Look after it instead of throwing it about and I reckon it could last a good while.
Clayton Giles
The overall shape is lovely.
This was a gift for my boyfriend and he was really pleased!Looks nice when folded up, and the loop at the end makes it simple to hold onto. Also the umbrella itself feels good quality, so it's not just something nice to look at. The overall shape is lovely. However, i wouldn't call it tiny for travelling... it does need a proper space in your bag, something to remember before packing for airport.
Cathy Vega
Absolutely love how this looks really good quality and so Stylish.
Absolutely love how this looks really good quality and so Stylish. I'm always drawn to cream white things, have little bits in that shade around my apartment so this suits me perfectly. Looks even nicer out of the package than the photos!! Just need some rain now so i can actually take it out!!
Jeanette Alvarado
Nice to find something worth buying again.
Over the last few years I've had several of these and been pleased with every one. Replacements only happen when i lose one or it disappears. They're dependable umbrellas. The construction is solid and they're useful for rain as well as shade.I keep two in the trunk so there's always one handy. Nice to find something worth buying again.
Latoya Carlson
So far it seems a very good choice for me.
I've generally stuck with umbrellas that give a decent amount of cover, rather than the really tiny ones. It was nice to find a folding one that still looks substantial when opened. There hasn't been any rain to test it in yet, but the frame feels sturdy, and the plain black canopy is quite smart. So far it seems a very good choice for me.
Jim Soto
Looks very solid and opens to a good size.
Looks very solid and opens to a good size. You could fit two close together, although I prefer the room for one person. It folds into a tidy bundle. Children or older people might notice the weight, and you need some strength to push the stem in after the button closes the canopy. That's the last step in putting it away. Now I need some rain to try it in. So far I like what I see, it looks very well put together.
