Handy size. It gives me some welcome shade when I'm out in the sunshine and isn't too heavy in my bag. The shaft looks fairly slim, although it feels sound enough when held. I wanted something to take along on those days when the forecast can't make up its mind about rain. Does that job well, I'm pleased.

Exactly what I was hoping for!
I needed a replacement after my old umbrella gave up on the walk to work. My route is along the waterfront in downtown NYC, with that wind coming across from the river, so rainy mornings can be a bit of a battle. This one has stayed manageable and kept its shape on those walks so far, rather than flapping about. Exactly what I was hoping for!

), which was lovely.
I have two myself and picked this one for a dear friend. She was quite emotional about the gift (and being remembered!), which was lovely. Mine are useful for wet days as well as getting some shade when the sun is too much. After a couple of years they're still serving me well. Button to open, button to collapse the canopy, then push the shaft in. I can see myself getting another and giving more as gifts. Attractive and genuinely useful, not just something that sits in a cupboard.

Love how this umbrella looks.
Love how this umbrella looks. It's stylish and it feels sturdy when I'm holding it. In windy rain I still feel nicely sheltered, without the whole thing trying to fold up on me. It dosn't feel flimsy like some I've had. I'd recommnd it and would buy it again. Had a few compliments already, it's a cute umbrella.

I was after something a little different that didn't feel flimsy.
I was after something a little different that didn't feel flimsy. This has that solid, nicely finished feel as soon as you pick it up, and it opens smoothly without much noise. It wasn't a cheap purchase, but I think the construction makes it worthwhile. Understated rather than flashy, and I enjoy carrying something that looks this good.
Joshua Schaefer
It has kept me dry and fits in my messenger bag afterwards.
Compared with the little umbrellas I've used before, this one has handled my rainy Chicago walks very well (including the wind that comes with them). It has kept me dry and fits in my messenger bag afterwards. Much more convenient to have along than a long golf umbrella, without feeling flimsy.
Guy Stafford
I must admit it is attractive and easy to bring along.
I was interested in this umbrella for the combination of a small folded size and a sturdy frame. For that purpose it is handy, although i wouldn't call it especially light once you carry it for a while. There's reasonable coverage, and it seems well put together....but I still find myself wanting something bigger when the rain is blowing sideways. I must admit it is attractive and easy to bring along. Fine fora drizzle or an ordinary shower -- not what I'd pick when the forecast is really unpleasant.
Mackenzie Banks
the frame feels sturdy without being rigid.
four stars since the umbrella looks nice, covers me well, and seems put together properly. the frame feels sturdy without being rigid.not quite five as the handle looks a little cheap next to the canopy, just a matter of appearance really. for this price i wasn't expecting anything fancy there anyway. overall it is good value and i would struggle to find much to complain about with the actual job it does.
Kristy Bright
Such a pretty umbrella!
Such a pretty umbrella! The green looks just like it did in the picture, and opened up it's roomier than I had imagined. The handle feels substantial. I'm still a little cautious pressing the automatic button because it opens quite briskly, so I've been making sure there's space around it. Haven't had rain since it arrived, so the actual test is still to come.UPDATE: Got to use it in the rain today and I love it even more. Seeing that green above me made a gloomy walk a bit nicer. My dog was in the carrier pouch against me, and I could keep us both underneath without struggling to hold it at a funny angle!.Really glad I bought it, and now I know it's more than just a pretty thing to look at.
Anna Stein
I'm pleased there are colours besides the usual dark ones.
There is a button that sends it up and also draws the canopy shut. Clever, I'd not had one like that before. You still shorten the pole yourself afterwards. Folded it goes in my bag, opened it gives me a nice amount of room. It feels properly made too. I'm pleased there are colours besides the usual dark ones. The pink was my choice, a much nicer thing to reach for on a miserable winter morning. It really cheers me up.
Candace Wilcox
The coverage over my head and shoulders has been really good.
I've had this umbrella for a long time and it comes out whenever I need to walk to work in the rain. It also gets used for taking the dogs out, so it isn't just sitting in a cupboard waiting for a special occasion. The coverage over my head and shoulders has been really good. Tonight I had it out with the dogs again and was glad I had it. There was a breeze as well as rain, and I kept it angled towards the rain rather than letting it pull behind me. You DO still have to hold onto an umbrella properly. My trouser bottoms were damp when I got home, but my upper half was dry. For something that folds away after the walk, it gives me all the shelter I need. It has been a really useful umbrella.
Peggy Estes
Anyway she is happy to have an umbrella again.
This was actually for my MOM, not me. She lost her last umbrella, so this is the second one I've bought her and she LOVES it. I had picked out another style as well, but she kept coming back to this pink one. It has enough color to brighten a miserable day without being too much. Maybe that is what she likes about it, I'm not completely sure. Anyway she is happy to have an umbrella again. Makes a wonderful gift!
Eileen Flores
Sturdy umbrella and it did well on the windy days I used it.
Sturdy umbrella and it did well on the windy days I used it. It isn't the cheapest option, which matters more when you're as good at losing umbrellas as I am. Left mine in a bar by accident, so I can't say anything about how long it would have lasted. I have used less expensive umbrellas that kept me dry just fine too. Still, I liked this one while I had it. Worth considering if you want something solid and are better at keeping track of your things.
Mackenzie Dyer
The carry sleeve is a nice extra too.
I've left this folded because it's going to be a present, and it looks as though nobody has opened it out. The carry sleeve is a nice extra too. Just from handling it, it seems sturdy and a much nicer quality than the folding umbrella's I usually see at the drugstore. Can't say anything about it in rain yet, but it makes a good impression.
Kara Villarreal
quite reasonable (given the quality).
After reading the comments I decided to try it. It deserves the praise....decent coverage, solid construction and not awkward to carry folded. The price stood out too ....quite reasonable (given the quality). A practical size rather than one that only looks useful.
Tamara Smith
Such a pretty umbrella.
Such a pretty umbrella. It feels solid without being awkward to carry, and the cream white looks lovely even on a miserable day. I've used it in breezy rain and it stayed in shape, which is what I needed. There is enough room for me to stay dry without hiding my face under it. I'd reccomend it, and people have said how nice it looks.
Colton Combs
It looks smart opened out.
It looks smart opened out. The pink on top and the black underneath make quite a nice contrast. The handle length and the spread of the canopy both feel medium sized to me. There is quite a lot of material when it folds down. I press the stem closed after the canopy has folded with the button, then wrap everything close together. It fit into the sleeve much better when I take time over that, instead of just bunching the fabric up.
Mindy Underwood
It has made a good impression.
I've been using this for roughly a month now, with only a handful of rainy outings. It has made a good impression.I'm away quite often, so I paid more attention to the folded size than anything else when choosing it. It fits in my laptop bag, although it does take up a little more space than a really tiny travel umbrella. The trade-off is a useful amount of cover once it's opened. Build quality seems good at this stage, and the button means I can get it open while my other hand is occupied. It has made wet walks less of a chore.I can't speak for long-term use yet, but on what I've seen I'd be happy to choose it again.
Dylan Alvarado
For what I paid, it's a lovely addition to the collection.
Bought it to add to my photography props and I'm delighted with how it looks. The little girls enjoy posing with it, and the adult women seem less awkward when they've got something in their hands. It gives them a natural thing to do without taking attention away from the person in the picture. I'll try to add a photo from one of my sessions so you can get an idea of it in use. For what I paid, it's a lovely addition to the collection. I'd have no problem buying another if I needed one.

What do you really need from an umbrella?
What do you really need from an umbrella? Mainly to arrive without a wet head, and this manages that. Wind still makes things awkward, but that is true of anything you have to hold over you.It is a good everyday umbrella rather than some amazing invention.1) The size suits me. As a mom I can tuck a little one beside me, although it won't cover the whole family.2) It feels reasonably solid without being something I need to leave permanently in the car.3) That one handed opening is the best part! Being able to press a button while my other hand is occupied makes a real difference. Closing the canopy works with the button too, but you do need to compress the pole yourself afterwards.4) The cream white is cheerful without being loud.I would pick this one again mostly for the opening feature. It is handy in exactly the ordinary, unexciting way an umbrella should be. Not the lightest thing to carry, but overall it suits a mom's rainy day juggling very well.

Worth the cost in my opinion.
Worth the cost in my opinion. I've ended up with three and people often remark on how nice they look. I need to limit direct sun on my skin for health reasons, so having some shade to take along is helpful, as is being ready for rain. I wouldn't take any umbrella out in severe wind, but with ordinary care mine have held up nicely. I also gave one to a close friend, and she has been delighted with hers.

we live in south bend, indiana, so there is no shortage of weather.
we live in south bend, indiana, so there is no shortage of weather. i take this when my toddler and i go to story time and play dates. covers us fine as long as we stick close together. i hold it high enough to keep cars and people in sight, rather than hiding underneath it. good little roof against the rain and the occasional cheek pinching enthusiast. not wonderful when wind pushes it onto your head, but so far it has been very useful.
Alec Frost
It's something I would be happy to recommend to other people.
A decent umbrella makes a wet day less miserable, and this one does that for me. I like the simple gray colour and the fabric seems substantial. The button makes opening it and collapsing the canopy straightforward. It's something I would be happy to recommend to other people.
Edgar Abbott
Still got back with my head and shoulders dry!
After so many tiny umbrellas that felt ready to give up, this one is a CHAMP. A proper amount of cover for one person (me being the important person here, obviously), yet it folds down to carry. Had it out with snow blowing about on the way home. Still got back with my head and shoulders dry!
Vincent Whitney
For us it has been a cracking little umbrella, no regrets at all.
I think alot of the low ratings make this sound more complicated than it is. Ours has been straightforward to use and I reckon most people would be pleased with it. It fits in my wife's roomy handbag, which was important for her, and it's handled our windy walks without a drama. The button closes the canopy nicely, then you press the pole down yourself. For us it has been a cracking little umbrella, no regrets at all.
Tina Barnes
I feel I got good quality for what I paid.
I feel I got good quality for what I paid. It is nicer in person than I was expecting. The wrapping looked a little thin, but nothing was damaged on the way here. Online purchases can sometimes be disappointing for me, but this one has worked out well. It feels like a successful buy and I would recommend it.

I was glad to find something practical with some meaning behind it.
These were thank you presents for friends who are nurses and were there for us through my husband's cancer. They helped in such personal, everyday ways while he was ill, and I wanted to give them something useful rather than just send a card. An umbrella seemed a nice way for them to think of him when they take it out. The gray looks a little different in person to the picture, but it is a gentle shade and suited what I wanted. I was glad to find something practical with some meaning behind it.
Jerome Sherman
I would recommend it without hesitation.
Three years on, I'm still grateful I bought this umbrella, whether the day turns wet or sunny. My skin reacts badly to quite a few sunscreens and I am very sensitive to sunshine, so having some shade with me matters a lot. It's a useful middle size, sturdy without being a huge umbrella, and I can carry it by the closed loop handle along with all the other things going to the soccer field. The difference between standing beneath it and standing in the sun is very noticeable! Other parents have come over to ask about it, and a few have wanted one themselves after sharing the shade for a minute. (It seems umbrellas aren't just for rain on our sidelines anymore.) Mine is still in excellent shape, though I sometimes think a larger canopy would be useful to shade more of my legs and feet. That's about coverage, not a complaint about how this one has lasted. I would recommend it without hesitation. I don't mind spending a little more on something that gets used this much and is still going strong. For rain it's been just as useful, which makes carrying it seem much less of an extravagance. I'm a very satisfied owner. (Incidentally, most of my reviews are about books, so writing this much about an umbrella is a departure for me.)And yes, we get properly hot summer days here too, as well as thunderstorms and blustery afternoons. It hasn't spent those three years sitting in a cupboard!

Compact Umbrella, not heavy to carry, yet it has stood up well .
Compact Umbrella, not heavy to carry, yet it has stood up well . My own has been in use for around three years and there is still nothing wrong with it. I've now got another for a family member, otherwise mine always seems to be borrowed when rain starts and I need it myself.A really useful purchase, just a bit dearer than I think it ought to be, hence four stars.

Green Folding Umbrella
Green Folding Umbrella
I've usually stuck with the same type of umbrella, but the simple look of this one caught my eye. Decided to try something different and it's now the one I reach for. The button opens the canopy AND gathers it shut again, then the shaft pushes down by hand. Everything moves smoothly and the finish seems better than my old umbrellas. Money well spent.
Ariel Williamson
Nice and solid.
This has a smart look to it. Nice and solid. Not one of those flimsy umbrellas you feel you have to nurse along. It gives me decent room on the school walk, even with the two kids squeezing in beside me, though somebody's shoulder can be sticking out. Packs up neatly afterwards too. The ribs have some give rather than feeling brittle. Five stars from me so far. I'll come back if that changes, but it's made a very good first impression.

What a funny little luxury this umbrella is.
What a funny little luxury this umbrella is. My husband can squeeze in beside me under it. I hold it over myself sitting outside when summer finally turns up here in Columbia Falls Montana. Nice bit of shade. Rain comes along and it does that job too, keeps me properly dry. I like it, honestly I do. Just remember the old warning about opening umbrellas indoors, bad luck!!! Unless that was something about sweeping with a broom??
Jack Clay
A bit BULKIER than I expected for a folding umbrella.
A bit BULKIER than I expected for a folding umbrella. It's not the tiny thing I can forget is in my bag, and I do notice the weight after a while. That said, it feels well put together and gives decent coverage. I'd take the extra bulk over something flimsy, just wouldn't choose it as my smallest possible umbrella.
Jaclyn Bradford
She was particularly concerned about them flipping over in a breeze.
Christmas present for my mom, who had been wanting something more dependable than the umbrellas she'd been using. She was particularly concerned about them flipping over in a breeze. I can't report how this one behaves outdoors because, being winter, she hasn't really taken it out yet. From handling it, though, it seems solid and the fabric has a pleasant smooth feel. My one hesitation is the sleeve, which doesn't leave much spare room. I tried it before wrapping it and found I needed to arrange the folds neatly rather than just bunch everything together. Once I'd done that it slid in fine. Mom wasn't so patient when she tried it, and getting the sleeve on took her a fair bit of fiddling. Nothing wrong with the umbrella itself from what I've seen, just something to bear in mind if you like packing things away quickly.
Mathew Caldwell
Love having an umbrella that doesn't feel like a throwaway.
Love having an umbrella that doesn't feel like a throwaway. I tend to skip the very cheap ones because I want something I can keep using. Folded, this is manageable to carry, and opened it gives me lots of room, or enough for two standing close. Yes, it's more money than some umbrellas. Take it from a random person online... I'm glad I paid the extra. No umbrella expertise claimed!
Alfred Payne
It's a handsome umbrella and feels well put together.
It's a handsome umbrella and feels well put together. Naturally the rain disappeared the moment I had it ready to use. I'll come back with a proper wet-weather report if the clouds ever return. Until then I'm enjoying the sunshine and crediting my new umbrella with powers it probably doesn't have.
Zoe Davies
Still an umbrella, mind you.
Christmas present for my son, and he was desperate for a rainy day to use it. The pink is cheerful and the frame feels sturdier than many children's things. Still an umbrella, mind you. It's a little bulky folded, but he loves carrying it and gets smiles from passerbys when he does.
Rachael Morales
I've found this a good everyday umbrella, and it packs down tidily.
I've found this a good everyday umbrella, and it packs down tidily. The automatic opening is especially useful and has never let me down.I've used this kind of umbrella for years, so I appreciate a mechanism that feels straightforward rather than fiddly. This one feels well constructed and gives me enough cover without being a nuisance to take along. After use I can fold it back up neatly, ready for the next time. That everyday practicality is really what matters to me. I'm very satisfied.
Brent Mccoy
i'm expecting to get plenty of use from them.
Have used this in some VERY WINDY weather and it has felt reassuringly solid, which is what I wanted from it. Four stars rather than five because it is a little heavy to keep holding for long. not sure how much of that is the frame, there are a lot of ribs, but you do notice it after a while. For getting to the bus and back from work it suits me well. Carrying it round for a whole day might be another matter.Still, I liked the first enough to get another, one stays at home and one at work. i'm expecting to get plenty of use from them.
Cindy Bruce
A roomy umbrella with a solid feel.
A roomy umbrella with a solid feel. useful for shade too, not only rain. one small warning is that it springs open quickly, so i check nobody is standing right beside me before pressing the button. closing the canopy is simple with the button, but shortening the shaft afterwards takes a firm push. that's normal, just more effort than i was expecting. i find using both hands much easier than trying to rush it. once tucked away it is quite neat. otherwise a very nice umbrella.
Whitney Meyers
When I stop, I hold it up for some shade.
I keep this umbrella handy while I'm cutting the grass with the tractor in summer. When I stop, I hold it up for some shade. I need to avoid too much direct sunshine, and this makes those breaks a lot more comfortable. Nice to have something simple that helps without having to stay indoors all day.
Isabella Wilkins
Construction looks very good.
Excellent! Enough room for my wife and me to share, which was what mattered most. We like having one umbrella between us rather than taking separate ones. Both of us have stayed dry walking close together. Construction looks very good. Hoping to use it for years. A very worthwhile buy .
Kristie Arias
The reviews and the price were what made me pick this one.
The reviews and the price were what made me pick this one. I did spend a while looking through the less happy comments, wondering if mine would feel cheap or have some problem. Nothing like that so far. It opens easily and gives me a decent amount of cover when the rain gets going. The flexible frame also seems to cope better with gusts than the umbrellas I've had before, which was a nice surprise. For what I paid I'm really pleased, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Christy Hancock
I've had a few people notice this when I'm out with it.
I've had a few people notice this when I'm out with it.The cream white makes a change from the usual dark umbrellas. In use it does what I'd expect, keeps the rain off and feels solid enough. The button opens it and folds the canopy, then you push the stem back in by hand, no bother. There's a sleeve for putting it away too.I'm rather pleased with it, and apparently other people like the look as well!
Sonya Richard
My first one spent over a year in my purse and got used regularly.
My first one spent over a year in my purse and got used regularly. The fabric has stayed intact, nothing has seized up, and I haven't had rain coming through it. It also dries out fairly quickly. When my husband needed an umbrella, getting another seemed the sensible thing to do, so his is the Cream White. He carries it in his briefcase without it taking over the whole thing. There's a sleeve included, although I don't bother with mine much. The button is convenient for opening it and bringing the canopy in. You still have to shorten the stem yourself afterwards, which took me a little practice to do comfortably. I watch where my fingers are when putting it away. For me, the way it folds down and the comfortable weight are worth that small bit of effort.
Raymond Olson
Nice to find something practical that also looks smart.
Wanted something reasonably priced that didn't look dull, and the shape of this one caught my eye :-D Quality seems good to me - had it out on a gusty day here in Cleveland and it stayed intact, no bent bits. Nice to find something practical that also looks smart.
Erin Roberson
The opening action is smooth and easy.
Looks much like my more expensive umbrella and feels just as well made, despite costing about half as much. The opening action is smooth and easy. The oval handle is a little more plain than I expected, but at this price that doesn't concern me (the expensive one isn't exactly fancy either). Worth remembering this is an umbrella, though, not something to lean on as a walking stick!
Bonnie Orozco
It arrived much sooner than I expected, which was a nice surprise.
Almost hoping for a rainy day just to take this out. It arrived much sooner than I expected, which was a nice surprise. The whole thing feels well put together and the simple design is really attractive, practical but still rather cute. There was a bit of a new, chemical sort of smell when I opened it, though I expect that to fade with airing. Certainly hasn't put me off it.
Tricia Coffey
The weight, grip and everyday handling are all satisfactory.
The weight, grip and everyday handling are all satisfactory. When I opened the parcel I looked over the ends and the frame first. Everything was together correctly and I could not see any damage. I wanted a usable umbrella, so it was good to find the mechanism working normally. The finish seems careful and it folds together neatly after use. I am satisfied with how it carries as well. I hope other people have the same good result.
