Finding a folding umbrella with a decent canopy made me very happy.

Finding a folding umbrella with a decent canopy made me very happy. I'd spent ages looking in shops for something portable that didn't feel tiny once opened. This one fits in my briefcase and gives me the coverage I wanted on wet days. Much nicer than having a long umbrella to carry separately and then work out where to put.

The automatic action is handy, but closing it isn't quite just…

The automatic action is handy, but closing it isn't quite just pressing a button. That gathers the canopy, then you push the telescoping section down until it clicks. I wasn't sure about the finer parts of the frame at first, although they've held up fine. It's a useful umbrella, just a bit more fiddly to put away neatly than I expected.

And beige makes a nice change from the usual dark ones.

I'm fussy about folding umbrellas--I want the convenience of a button, but not a tiny canopy that only covers my head. And beige makes a nice change from the usual dark ones. This one was a very pleasant surprise. Once it's up there is room for my shoulders and the bag I'm carrying, yet it doesn't turn into an enormous bundle when put away. That's the balance I was hoping for. Haven't had much rain to try it in yet, which is almost disappointing when you've finally found an umbrella you actually want to take out.

Mary Khan

This one has, so far.

Hardly an exciting headline, I know, but I'm impressed when an umbrella handles a windy day without a fuss. This one has, so far. The gray also suits me and makes a dull day a bit nicer. It takes up a little more space than my old one, but there is still room for it in my purse.

Four stars from me, mostly a matter of preference.

Four stars from me, mostly a matter of preference. I knew it had a loop handle when I bought it but I miss the feel of my old umbrella. Might just be habit? The umbrella itself is solid and fits my computer bag, handy when the morning forecast means nothing by home time. Been carrying it for two months and have only actually needed it three times. Could have saved myself checking the weather, maybe carrying it is the trick?

Dwayne Schwartz

looking forward to giving this one a go and the price was good!

It was a bit of a wait getting here but i haven’t tried it outside in rain yet, it looks nicely made though! i like that there is a proper sleeve for storage rather than just leaving it loose, my previous umbrellas were always a soggy mess to put away! looking forward to giving this one a go and the price was good!

Diana Phillips

Excellent umbrella.

Excellent umbrella. I needed something that wouldn't be awkward to carry once folded, and this is just right for me. The canopy is surprisingly roomy when it's up. Having a sleeve included is useful, and the oval handle gives me a comfortable hold when the weather gets breezy!

Angela Morton

Maybe useful to somebody else trying to decide.

just unpacked it, ran through opening and closing a few times and everything operates as it should. canopy is attached neatly to the ribs and the material feels more substantial than the flimsy umbrellas I've had before. wanted something better made without spending a silly amount, and this seems a good middle ground. The button takes a deliberate press, NOT something I keep triggering by mistake. After the canopy closes you still push the telescoping section down yourself, which was straightforward. I checked these particular things because of a few less happy reviews I'd read, though most seemed positive. Maybe useful to somebody else trying to decide.

Mario Lang

Really good umbrella overall.

Really good umbrella overall. For me the grip sits a little too close to the canopy, so at 5'9" I'm holding my arm higher than I'd prefer. That takes some getting used to.I do still reach for it though, it feels strong and does its job well. Not my ideal handle arrangement, but the rest of it has won me over.

Randall Allison

In heavy rain without much wind it does the job nicely.

This comes out for the morning walk to the bus with my kindergartener. Plenty of cover for us, and enough for two grownups too. In heavy rain without much wind it does the job nicely. Add wind and it's more awkward to hold, like most bigger umbrellas. Feels solid and properly made.

Megan Walls

A gust came along and it stayed steady in my hand.

I wasn't convinced this would be worth spending on until I actually took it out in the rain. A gust came along and it stayed steady in my hand. It opens to a generous size without feeling too heavy, and the button to open and fold the canopy is BRILLIANT.Very glad I got it!

Derek Weaver

What a handy umbrella!!

What a handy umbrella!! It folds into a manageable bundle for my bag, then opens out to give proper cover. I'm a teacher, and waiting outside on bus duty in the rain is where I appreciate it most. A child can tuck in close beside me for a moment too. The beige is soft and cheerful, not another dark umbrella in the crowd. I'd been looking for something I liked the look of as much as I liked using it, so this was a welcome find. The children like it too, which is a nice bonus on a miserable afternoon.

Mark Branch

The loop handle is different, in a good way.

Surprisingly light in the hand. Looks nicely put together..those ribs have some give to them. The loop handle is different, in a good way. One button gets it up, another press folds the canopy. A plain sleeve comes with it, nothing fancy. Blue outside, black underneath. Shade..yes, that's mainly why I bought it. I haven't had a proper rainy day with it yet so can't report on that. Standing under it is certainly nicer than standing in direct sun. If it holds up..I could get VERY fond of this one.

Clayton Bryan

I leave it partly open to dry before packing it up.

A press of the button opens it or folds the canopy. It fits in my work bag without taking over the whole thing. I leave it partly open to dry before packing it up. Does what I need without costing a lot, and it's convenient to have along. Would happily get another if I ever needed to replace it.

Stephen Walton

I handle the button and folding, they mostly just want to hold it.

We ended up getting a second because both kids wanted the first one and taking turns was apparently too much to ask. Its a nice looking umbrella, so I can see why they both wanted their own. Opened up there is plenty of room over a little person, although this isn't really a tiny preschool umbrella. I handle the button and folding, they mostly just want to hold it.Cons - the new material smell was STRONG when we unpacked them. Leaving them open for a few days helped, but there was still a little smell up close. Also a bit much for the two year old to carry, the five year old manages better. With kids this young I still expect to help rather than let them do everything themselves.

I stay dry round the head and shoulders on rainy days.

My second one, and I'm getting on with it just as well as the first. I work outdoors regardless of the weather, so an umbrella has to be more than something that looks nice. This opens to a useful width for me, and I'm a fairly big bloke. I stay dry round the head and shoulders on rainy days. You still feel a pull when the wind catches the canopy, and I'd take a slightly larger grip if it were offered, but the handle is comfortable enough for normal use. The opening button works smoothly and closing the canopy is simple too; I just compress the stem afterwards. Folded down it fits in my luggage, which is a big part of why I stick with this size. It also fits diagonally into my car door storage. Both umbrellas are still in regular use and have been reliable.

Guy Osborn

Pretty much everything I was looking for.

I wanted something compact with a button to put it up and draw it closed, and this does exactly that. Especially like being able to bring the canopy in quickly before getting soaked, then compress the stem myself. The ribs feel flexible and fairly strong, though i haven't tried it on a windy day yet. i'm taking it to Europe for three weeks and it looks like it will be easy to pack. Pretty much everything I was looking for.

Sonya Barnes

Kept us dry in light showers too.

Happy with it, opens up easily and keeps working despite being knocked about. My girls leave them sitting open in the yard ( lovely kids, not gentle with things) and they have held up. Nearly six months now.. Kept us dry in light showers too. We haven't put them through a really heavy downpour yet :)

Eileen Stevens

For the money it feels a very good umbrella.

Anyone still going back and forth over umbrellas, I can recommend giving this green one a try. The shaft feels solid in the hand and there are a lot of ribs underneath. Opened out, it is a good generous size for a compact umbrella. It feels like something I can keep using, provided I don't leave it somewhere. It has kept the rain off me, which is the important bit. Mine came in a box and was neatly packed inside. Once the packing is off, there is the carry sleeve around the umbrella. You pull the umbrella out of that sleeve and it is all there, folded up quite neatly. The sleeve is handy to have when putting it away. A press of the button and it spreads right out. Seeing all the ribs when it opens gives a sturdy impression, and the green looks good as well. Very happy with it. Another colour would be tempting if I needed a second one. I would say go ahead. It isn't the smallest umbrella when folded, but that doesn't spoil it for me. Still quite manageable to carry. For the money it feels a very good umbrella. I'm writing this simply because I like what I received. A full five stars from me. *****.

It turned up today.

It turned up today. I was a little worried seeing it sticking out of the mailbox, with the packaging looking pretty squashed..... Took it inside and checked it straight away but couldn't findanything wrong. Pressed the button and it opened right up, feels like a well made umbrella. Plenty of room over me and my handbag (Perhaps my leather bags can finally avoid those rain marks....)I like how firm it feels and hope it will be around for years. The only thing I'm unsure about is putting it away in the sleeve. Once I've closed the canopy and pushed the shaft in, the fabric is still quite bulky at the end and takes some persuading to get backinside. I don't really fancy arranging every fold perfectly each time just to squeeze it in. Will have to see how we get along!

Kari Griffith

The umbrella feels reasonably solid and has kept ordinary rain off me.

The umbrella feels reasonably solid and has kept ordinary rain off me. The problem is that compact means something different to me. Folded, it's still too long for the purse I wanted to use, and it takes more room in my bookbag than I'd like. A larger bag would make more sense. The open canopy is adequate for one person, but not especially generous considering what I'm carrying around. It does have button closing for the canopy; you then press the telescoping shaft back in yourself. Nothing wrong with that operation, I just don't find the overall package convenient enough to justify the price.

Charles Ramos

I'm impressed with this umbrella.

I'm impressed with this umbrella. It feels properly made, which matters more to me than fancy details. It packs away neatly, is light enough to bring along, and opens at a touch of the button. It also gives me good coverage in the rain. A very satisfying purchase.

Jennifer Buchanan

The loop handle sits comfortably in my rather small hands.

The pretty look drew me to this umbrella, but the solid feel was a lovely surprise! It folds down neatly rather than being a long umbrella to carry about. Keeps the rain off and makes pleasant shade too, all without looking clumsy. The loop handle sits comfortably in my rather small hands.

Johnny Jefferson

Overall I am happy with the quality of this umbrella.

Thank you, it reached me quickly and feels as solid as I hoped. There were fold lines in the fabric when I first opened it, which made me look it over rather carefully. Everything was clean and neatly put together though, and the canopy looks fine once spread out. Overall I am happy with the quality of this umbrella.

Cody Chavez

The button is super handy, just press it and the canopy pops open.

There's a lot more coverage than I expected from a folding umbrella, and the whole thing feels really solid. The button is super handy, just press it and the canopy pops open. Another press folds the canopy down, then you push the shaft in by hand until it catches. I didn't get that last bit straight away, but once I did it was easy. It does feel a bit heavier than I imagined when I first looked at it. Still, I really like how it looks and how much rain it keeps off. If you want something sturdy with a nice easy opening, this one's great!

Darren Crane

He thought it was great!!

My brother is into medieval history (and has proper swords etc)so i wasnt sure a plain umbrella would be exciting enough. When it came i checked it over and it didnt feel cheap at all.The build seems quite strong and that oval handle is different without being silly. He thought it was great!! Might have to get one myself now because its actually useful too

I ended up ordering a second.

For Mother's Day I decided to include something my mother actually needed, an umbrella. Whenever we had rain she would borrow mine, and I didn't mind that, but it seemed silly that she still didn't have one of her own. I wanted part of her gift to be useful beyond the day itself rather than just something nice to unwrap. We always kept umbrellas around when I was growing up. Some lasted well and others seemed to need replacing before we'd really had much use out of them. I don't expect an umbrella to last forever, but a couple of years doesn't seem very long to me unless you're using it constantly. My own one has been with me for about ten or twelve years now, including its time being borrowed by my mother. So something practical was very much what I had in mind. She likes light colours and I settled on the Cream White. It looked like something she would choose for herself, which isn't always easy when buying a gift. She was delighted with it when she opened it. We've had several rainy days over the past week so it hasn't just been sitting unused, either. Yesterday she mentioned again how much she likes it. She finds the button opening convenient, and she's happy with the cover it gives her. My aunt came over during Mother's Day weekend and noticed it straight away. She thought it looked very elegant and asked if I would get one for her as well. I ended up ordering a second. The gift parcel was at the door when we went to let my aunt in. Being the weekend, I hadn't even thought to check whether it had arrived, so that was a nice surprise. Most importantly my mother is using her gift and enjoying it. That's really what I wanted. Five stars from me.

Most fun I've had with an umbrella.

Most fun I've had with an umbrella. The ribs fan out like a little folding bridge, and I keep pressing the button just to see it happen. Easily amused, apparently. There's a good solid click when it opens, and shortening the stem by hand after the canopy closes makes it ready to go again. I end up showing people whenever it rains. Gives me a comfortable dry area, works as shade too, and folded it slips into my trunk or under the work desk instead of filling the place.

Chelsey Sweeney

It feels sturdy without being a great long thing to carry around.

Our summer days seem to be spent at our sons' baseball fields, sitting on metal bleachers with the sun beating down. The big umbrella we used before never gave us the sort of shade I wanted. I ordered this one hoping it would make those long afternoons a little easier, and it really has. The cream white top looks nice and the black underneath is much less bright to sit under than our old one. It doesn't make the weather cool, of course, but having that patch of shade makes a surprising difference. There is enough room for me in my chair, or for two of us sitting close together. It feels sturdy without being a great long thing to carry around. We've also been caught in rain and a few breezes, and it kept us dry without any drama. Several other parents have wanted to know where I found it, which says something. Definitely money well spent. Update: I've bought another, since my husband and I sometimes end up at different fields with the boys. Would happily choose it again.

Briana Cunningham

Such a GOOD idea for my very fair skinned mother.

Such a GOOD idea for my very fair skinned mother. I got it for her at Christmas. It folds small enough for her bigger handbag or to put in a suitcase, and there's a sleeve to keep it tidy. The black looks smart, too. She hasn't tried it outside yet, but loves the thought of being able to carry her own shade instead of always looking for a shady place to stand.

Marco Duarte

Easy recommendation.

With my earlier inexpensive umbrellas I always ended up seeing little worn spots in the cloth. Whether that was from the ribs rubbing or just repeated folding, I couldn't really tell. I generally assumed a couple of years was about all I'd get. This one has now done four years with me and the fabric is still intact. Even along the folds it looks remarkably fresh, which was not what I expected when I ordered it.I appreciate things that are thought through rather than just looking good, and this seems to be one of them. It is more of a personal umbrella than something to share, so bear that in mind. The compact size helps around the car, and collapsing the canopy with a button makes getting in much less of a juggling act. Easy recommendation.

Suzanne Blanchard

four months later and there is news at last.

gave this to my mom and she hadn't had a chance to try it, so i said i'd update once she did; four months later and there is news at last. she texted early this april morning to say how good the umbrella had been. her walk to work goes across the river and it's a windy bit, but she said she kept hold of it fine and the canopy stayed the right way round. sounds like she's very happy, which makes me happy too, seems i managed to pick a good present for her

Steve Obrien

What a useful umbrella!!

What a useful umbrella!! Folded away, it is easy to keep with my things, but opening it gives a much more generous canopy than I expected. I teach, and on wet afternoons it is handy for bus duty when I am standing around outside. There is room for me to give a child a little cover beside me while we wait. The gray is simple and smart, not something I will get tired of. I had been looking for a folding umbrella with decent coverage rather than another tiny one. This is just the sort I wanted and I am glad I chose it.

Terrence Parker

Just a good dependable umbrella.

It's not the tiniest umbrella to squeeze into a purse, but having a little extra coverage makes that worthwhile. I live in DC and wind has finished off quite a few of my umbrellas. BUT this one has been with me for two years and still does what it should. It feels solid when I'm holding it, even when the weather picks up. Mine stays in the bottle pocket on my backpack so I don't have to think about taking it. Just a good dependable umbrella.

Charlotte Galloway

Feels properly solid for a folding umbrella.

Feels properly solid for a folding umbrella. I walk around campus in a town where the wind seems to funnel between every building. Other umbrellas I've had were a nuisance there but this has stayed manageable so far. Also looks smart which is a bonus. Its a good buy for the money and I would recommend it.

Rachel Mata

My wife is delighted with it which is the main thing.

It seems decently put together, not something I'd choose for the worst weather but quite adequate for everyday rain. My wife is delighted with it which is the main thing. I had considered getting myself one as well, though the blue is a bit prettier than my usual taste. The underside is black, so it has quite a contrast when it's open. Folds down neatly and the sleeve is useful when it's put away. I don't expect any umbrella to last forever, but this one brightens up a gloomy day for her and feels like a sensible purchase.

Andrew Lozano

A thank you present for my sister after she hosted my baby shower.

A thank you present for my sister after she hosted my baby shower. We've both always loved umbrellas, and I can see my daughter thinking her aunt is terribly grown up and stylish carrying this one when she's older. The oval handle feels substantial and the whole thing looks nicely made, not like a flimsy little spare!

Sabrina Hickman

Feels stronger than the umbrellas I've had before.

Feels stronger than the umbrellas I've had before. Good everyday size, goes in my backpack and hasn't minded the wind so far. The grip suits my hand (I'm 5'9"). Love being able to press a button to open it and shut the canopy again. Takes a push to shorten it afterwards. I definitely recomend it!

Preston Adams

This one opens to roughly 105 cm across.

I used to carry a smaller folding umbrella and it was reliable enough, but I would still end up with a damp shoulder. Being a bigger person, I have learned that calling something compact doesn't tell you much about how much of you it actually covers. This one opens to roughly 105 cm across. That gives me decent shelter in normal rain, although it isn't a giant dome and angled rain can still reach my lower legs. The ribs feel flexible rather than flimsy, and the canopy has stayed neatly in place through the showers I've used it in. The other consideration was getting it into my briefcase. Folded, it's around 40 cm long, so check the space you have rather than expecting one of those tiny pocket umbrellas. At about 390 grams I don't find it a burden. The push button opens it and folds the canopy again; shortening the pole afterwards is a separate manual step. That took a little getting used to, but it is straightforward. A useful compromise between coverage and carrying size, and an improvement for me overall.

Juan Hooper

Feels solid and the button is simple to use.

A great umbrella for keeping in the car, or leaving near the front door. Feels solid and the button is simple to use. There's comfortable room for me, and two can tuck in close. Surprising how much cover comes out of something that folds down. Got another as a present too,

Mallory Turner

These feel properly made and I enjoy using them for rain or shade.

Over the years I've ended up buying several, not because they wore out but because i can't seem to keep track of umbrellas. These feel properly made and I enjoy using them for rain or shade. Two usually stay in my car trunk so there's one when needed. A plain, dependable thing is worth having, and that's been my experience with these.

Jo Knapp

Feels solid and properly put together.

Feels solid and properly put together. I've used it on the golf course and it covers what I need without being a huge thing to carry around. Living in West Texas, I pay attention to how an umbrella behaves when the wind gets up, and this has done fine on my outings so far. For what I paid, I'm impressed. It handles the basic job as well as pricier umbrellas I've owned. If usefulness matters more to you than a fancy badge, I'd consider this a sensible buy.

Charles Carter

What a gorgeous umbrella, I really do LOVE it !

What a gorgeous umbrella, I really do LOVE it ! The blue looks lovely.... with the black underneath giving it a nice contrast. Considering how much room there is when it's up, it doesn't feel troublesome to carry. It covers me comfortably and the frame has enough give that it doesn't feel *stiff as a board*. I never thought I'd be pleased to see a rainy forecast. The push button sends it up smoothly; pressing it again draws the canopy together and then I shorten the stem with a push. All straightforward, no wrestling with it. The oval loop handle is comfortable in my hand and handy to hang on to while I'm gathering my things.Really looking forward to using it more ! Would recommend !

Kristie Daugherty

Useful doesn't have to mean dull, and this one looks nice too!

Gave this as a gift & the reaction was just what I'd hoped for. She said she'd been wanting an umbrella like this for ages & was so glad to have one. I've one of my own & appreciate how it folds away rather than needing a long space to store it. It is handy to bring when the sky looks doubtful, but also gives a welcome patch of shade sitting in the bleachers on sunny days. Useful doesn't have to mean dull, and this one looks nice too!

Around here in Texas, rain can come at you from the side instead…

Around here in Texas, rain can come at you from the side instead of neatly overhead. I need an umbrella I can hold toward it, not something that feels flimsy as soon as I tilt it. This has a reassuringly solid feel and the canopy gives good protection for its size. I still have to keep it high enough to see ahead, but it is manageable rather than cumbersome. The ribs have a little flexibility and it has stayed steady in the weather I've used it in. Folding it down makes it easy to keep nearby, which is half the battle with umbrellas in our house.Overall, it has become a useful family standby and I would certainly recommend it.

Jasmin Wagner

This replacement looks smart and gives noticeably better coverage.

A rainstorm finished off my previous umbrella, it flipped over and I couldn't get it right again. This replacement looks smart and gives noticeably better coverage. The button works well for opening and folding the canopy, with no fuss. It seems a big improvement on what I had before. Almost makes me look forward to wet weather!

Mackenzie Grimes

If I lost it I'd be happy to pay for another.

Nicely put together and hasn't struggled with the everyday gusts so far (nothing extreme, I haven't tested that). If I lost it I'd be happy to pay for another. The coverage is good for me, and a second person can shelter close alongside rather than getting left completely in the rain. I didn't think automatic opening mattered much, but it turns out to be pretty useful when I've already got a coffee or a bag in the other hand.

Kelsey Park

Very pleased with the umbrella ♥️ Would recommend!

Excellent purchase! Bought November 9, received November 2. Packed in a cardboard box. Fairly weighty, sturdy oval loop handle, button opens and folds the canopy. Push the pole down by hand after. Plenty of flexible ribs, feels well supported. Fabric feels good and the open size is generous. Very pleased with the umbrella ♥️ Would recommend!

Douglas Hansen

For everyday rain and a bit of wind, it has been very good.

People seem surprised by how much cover this gives once it's open. It folds down for carrying, but doesn't feel like a tiny umbrella when I'm actually using it. For everyday rain and a bit of wind, it has been very good. My main complaint is where the button sits in relation to my grip on the loop handle. I find myself moving my hand around to reach it rather than opening it as quickly as I'd like. Not a huge problem, just inconvenient when it's already raining. Once pressed, it opens promptly. Closing the canopy is another button press, but the telescoping shaft then needs compressing manually. That works fine, but putting it away isn't entirely a one handed job. I also find gathering the damp fabric into tidy folds a bit fiddly, so I tend to wait until I'm inside. I can't give an opinion about using it for sun as that wasn't my reason for buying it. As an umbrella for walking in wet weather, though, I'm satisfied.

Lacey Parks

Worth every penny to me ,very happy with it !!!!!

Best umbrella I have had for standing about at lacrosse games ,used it through the wet spring and came away dry .Wind picked up a few times but it felt steady enough for me. I noticed a bit of that new material smell ,doesn't bother me ,I am not putting it on my dinner plate .Some people worry over the wrong things I think .What matters is it opens quickly and gives me cover when I need it ,then folds up afterwards .Worth every penny to me ,very happy with it !!!!!
