Feels sturdy and gives a surprising amount of cover for a folding umbrella. I'm only 5'2" and it reaches far enough over me that my trousers stay mostly dry when I'm walking. I don't need to crouch underneath it to keep my shoulders covered, either. You do need to hold it high enough to see ahead rather than hiding behind the edge. Pressing the button folds the canopy, then the shaft needs pushing down by hand. Took a couple of goes to get used to that, but now it's straightforward. Very happy with it! Would recommend!

The beige is a lovely gentle color and she thinks it is very pretty.
For Christmas I picked this umbrella for my four year old granddaughter. She was so excited to have her own that she wanted it opened straight away, with no rain anywhere! The beige is a lovely gentle color and she thinks it is very pretty. It arrived in good time and seeing how happy she was made me glad I ordered it.

Rain in the morning, rain all afternoon, rain when you go to bed.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest gives you plenty of practice with rain. Rain in the morning, rain all afternoon, rain when you go to bed. Maybe the seasons have changed a little, but I still know a wet walk when I see one! I've wanted a decent folding umbrella for years and am glad I finally bought this one. Whoever made wet weather a bit less miserable deserves a THANK YOU!! The fabric feels substantial, the frame doesn't feel flimsy, and the handle gives me something secure to hold. No clever tricks needed. It turned up the day before the recent heavy rain here, so it certainly didn't sit around waiting to be tried. Walked out with it and stayed comfortably dry. That's what matters. It isn't some enormous contraption to drag about either. Coming from someone who practically grew up with damp feet, that's praise. KEEP THE RAIN COMING!!!

Absolutely LOVE this umbrella!
Absolutely LOVE this umbrella! Mine is beige and it looks so pretty, makes going out in the rain a little nicer. It feels solid, opens quickly with the button and the canopy closes just as easily. I've had no trouble with it in everyday rain and it fits in my bag when folded. For what it cost I was bracing myself for something flimsy, but this has been a great buy. I'd happily recommend it to anyone needing a handy umbrella.

My old manual umbrella is staying in the car for backup now.
I wanted an automatic umbrella to replace the manual one I had been using, without going to something much larger. Heading out around five in the morning when it is cold and raining is when I appreciate not having to fiddle with getting it open. It is compact when put away, but there is a useful amount of coverage once it is up. Being tall does not mean you have to carry an enormous umbrella, although I would not expect this one to keep the bottom of my trousers dry.
I angle it toward the rain and it keeps my head and upper body well covered. The open width is about 105 cm, which tells me more than a measurement taken over the curve of the fabric would. There is enough room underneath without having something awkward to steer along the pavement. The ribs have some give to them and it has held its shape in the windy rain I have used it in so far.
Pressing the button gets it open promptly. Pressing it again draws the canopy shut, then I push the shaft back down myself. That last part is manual, but the whole process is straightforward and preferable to my old umbrella. One improvement for me would be a clear section to look through when I have the front lowered against the rain. As it is I raise it a little to check where I am going. Otherwise it suits what I need very well.My old manual umbrella is staying in the car for backup now.

This has been a much better experience.
Getting around San Francisco means an umbrella gets used rather than just sitting in a bag. I've wasted enough money on cheap ones that couldn't cope with the commute. This has been a much better experience. It gives me decent cover and doesn't feel like it's fighting me whenever there's a breeze. A shake gets most of the water off before I head indoors, which is handy too. I'm tempted to keep another at work instead of remembering to bring this one every day. Definitely glad I upgraded!

Very pleased with the blue too.
This one was for me, not somebody else's present, and I am SO pleased with it! I had been looking for a blue umbrella that would fold down without feeling like a flimsy little emergency thing. Some I looked at just didn't seem worth paying for. This feels like a lot for the money to me. The canopy feels sturdy opened up and the oval loop handle is a comfortable size for my hand. There is a good amount of cover without it being too much weight to hold, which makes a difference when you are standing beside the car trying to find where those keys have gone! I can get it open with the button instead of having to stop and wrestle with it first. That little convenience is a big deal when your hands are already occupied. Also, I wanted something I could put away easily afterwards rather than having a long umbrella to carry around for the rest of the day. It folds to a manageable size and that suits me much better. Being a mom and soon to be a grandmother, there is usually somebody to keep an eye on, so less fuss with my own things is very welcome! Not the most exciting thing to shop for maybe but I really like finding something useful that feels worth what I paid. I would happily get another to give someone. A teacher could use this, male or female, and it wouldn't be one of those presents that just sits there. Very pleased with the blue too. This is going on my list for those people I never know what to buy :^)

What a pretty umbrella!
What a pretty umbrella! It opens wider than I expected from looking at it folded, so there is a bit more weight to carry than the pictures made me think. Nothing that puts me off using it.The shape of the loop handle is what I notice most, and with my small hands I find it comfortable, although somebody wanting a chunky grip might feel differently. I bought it mainly to take along to special occasions or meetups. It's pretty without needing a lot of decoration, and I'm looking forward to showing it off!

I wanted another everyday one and this has been good in the rain.
I'd kept my last umbrella for years, until a fall put an end to it. I wanted another everyday one and this has been good in the rain. The handle though-- well -- it isn't as roomy in my hand as the one I was used to. The closed loop is fine, I just prefer a bigger grip. That is really my only complaint about the umbrella itself. A little more room there would make it much nicer for me. The sleeve does its job too, although I preferred the case on my old umbrella. Still a good umbrella overall.
Manuel Townsend
Feels like good value for the money.
Better than I expected for taking along on trips. It packs down neatly into its sleeve but gives a decent amount of cover once opened. The button is easy to use and the canopy closes just as readily. Nice to have the sleeve for packing it away too. Feels like good value for the money.
Allison Farley
What a beautiful umbrella.
What a beautiful umbrella. The cream white is lovely and the whole thing feels quality. I'd certainly recommend it. Not the cheapest option, but I think the finish makes it worth paying a little more. Would be a lovely gift for somebody who's difficult to choose for.Absolutely adore it!!!

Picked up three for gifts and everyone was happy with them.
Still cant get over how GOOD the value was. Picked up three for gifts and everyone was happy with them. We take ours along to soccer for the sun as well as the rain!! They feel solid and there's enough room for me with a child tucked in beside me. money well spent

My experience: it is NOT a complicated thing to close.
Some of the remarks about putting this away nearly talked me out of ordering. My experience: it is NOT a complicated thing to close. The button brings the canopy down and I push the shaft back in by hand. Then I tidy the fabric and it packs down neatly. The sleeve IS rather snug if I haven't smoothed everything out properly. I can't say that surprises me with a compact umbrella, though, and most days I just carry it folded in my purse after it has dried. What mattered to me was having something pretty that gives me shade, and this does that very well. The loop handle is useful for carrying it too, without needing to add anything. A little fuss with the sleeve is a fair exchange for something I enjoy using!

Mine tend to get a hard life (darn rain & wind!
I like umbrellas with a bit of character, not ones that look as if they belong in a nursery. Cream White is a nice change and still looks sensible for work. Feels well put together too. Mine tend to get a hard life (darn rain & wind!) so time will tell about durability. Very happy with it for now...

This gives me the coverage I was after and has kept me dry.
As a woman I didn't want another tiny umbrella just because it looked nice. This gives me the coverage I was after and has kept me dry. Folded up, it's still manageable to take along rather than leaving at home. I went for green and mine looks deeper than the photo, but that actually suits me better, so no complaints from me.

The automatic opening is excellent!
This is a substantial black umbrella when open, yet a surprisingly manageable thing to carry folded. The automatic opening is excellent! I get around our large campus in an electric wheelchair and have generally kept a folding umbrella tucked behind my seat. The really tiny ones never gave me much cover, while taking a long golf umbrella meant having this awkward thing with me for the rest of the day. (not ideal) This one is a good middle ground. It gives me useful room overhead without being a long rigid object to store, although of course it doesn't cover the whole chair. A press of the handle button sends the canopy up, which is much less fiddly than opening one manually. Another press draws the canopy closed when I reach a doorway or a car. I can do that bit quickly, then deal with putting it away once I'm inside. The telescoping part still needs to be compressed by hand to get it fully short again. That is separate from the button action, and once understood it is easy enough to manage.

Already had one of these and knew the quality was good
Already had one of these and knew the quality was good; wanted another in a handy size to carry about. Nothing worse than being out in the rain with an umbrella that's trying to turn itself inside out! This one hasn't done that to me. I've given a couple as presents too and my friends have been just as pleased with theirs. A very useful umbrella to have around!
Adrian Mueller
The beige umbrella is so pretty!
The beige umbrella is so pretty! It was nicer than I'd expected and made me want to leave a few words here. The fabric feels good, not flimsy. The beige is soft without looking washed out. I gave it to my mother and she is delighted with it! She mainly wants it as a parasol, and likes how much shade the open canopy gives her. It seems sturdy enough for rainy days as well :) I'm glad I picked it for her. Now I'm thinking I ought to have one myself, because an umbrella can be useful and still be something lovely to carry :)

It'll be coming along again.
We took this along to a three day motorcycle race event in Austin in late April. Thought we were in for really hot weather, but it was surprisingly cool at first and a little breezy one day. Then the sun got going on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and out came the umbrella, what a difference!!!! Having that patch of shade over us made sitting there much more comfortable. It isn't air conditioning of course, but getting the direct sun off your head is a BIG HELP when you are outside for hours. We were in a crowd so had to be thoughtful about where we held it, nobody wants an umbrella blocking their view of the racing. That was about the only thing to keep in mind. Away from the crowd we could just put it up and enjoy the shade without thinking about anyone behind us. Did the job we brought it for and I'm glad it was in our things. It'll be coming along again.

Such a nice umbrella for what I paid, I am very happy with it.
Brilliant!!! Such a nice umbrella for what I paid, I am very happy with it. The green is pleasant, opens with the button, not the lightest thing, but feels substantial in the hand. To put it away the canopy shuts by button and the shaft needs a proper push down by hand, easier once you know the motion... the sleeve is included too. Those are small things beside how useful it is. Many thanks!🫶
Maria Keith
Nothing serious, just something worth mentioning.
I would call the quality decent rather than exceptional, which seems fair at this price. I wouldn't choose a compact umbrella for a very blustery day, but this has dealt with proper downpours without any trouble. The canopy is wide enough to keep me and the bag on my shoulder reasonably dry. It also has a pleasant look, and that makes a wet day a little less dreary. My main annoyance is getting the fabric arranged neatly again before putting it in the sleeve; it can look rather untidy if I rush. Nothing serious, just something worth mentioning. Four stars seems about right, and I would consider buying the same one again when this has eventually had its day.

This umbrella earns its place!!
Walking everywhere in NYC means whatever I might need ends up in my day bag. This umbrella earns its place!! Not tiny enough for a phone pocket, but it fits in the main part and I don't find it a burden to carry. That means I actually take it rather than standing at the door wondering if the clouds look serious enough. The opening button is GREAT when my other hand is full, and the frame feels more substantial than I expected from a folding umbrella. I've carried some pretty flimsy ones before, this isn't like those. It has kept me dry on my walks without needing loads of fuss. I'm planning on two more for presents, because a useful umbrella is something people don't always think to get themselves.
Jaclyn Case
opens nicely, feels sturdy, etc.
It is MY own doing, b/c I picked the cream white for my son without thinking about what he'd choose...he's an engineer, my husband had a good laugh...said I SHOULD have asked first...ho ho. Anyway the umbrella itself is fine...opens nicely, feels sturdy, etc. So no real complaint about that.
Meghan Booth
Can't say enough good things about this umbrella!!
Can't say enough good things about this umbrella!! The green is such a cheerful change from all the gloomy umbrellas I see around. It makes heading out into the rain feel a little less dull, and I've had lovely comments on it too :)The button is especially handy beside the car. A press gets it open quickly, and another gathers the canopy before I get in. I finish by compressing the shaft to pack it away. Going back to one that makes me wrestle the whole canopy shut would feel like a chore now.
Mandy Wilkinson
The opening action works well too.
Okay, spending less isn't always saving money.I've tried going cheap on an umbrella and wasn't happy with what I got. This one feels properly made, and I much prefer the closed loop handle to having no useful way to carry it.Umbrellas cost enough that I'd rather get something I actually like using. The opening action works well too. I'm planning on getting another to keep at the office, because that's where I always seem to need one.

I'm glad I tried it.
I used ordinary automatic folding umbrellas for decades before trying much larger, full length ones for their extra coverage and sturdier frames. I now have a couple of really huge umbrellas, which are great but cumbersome. The price encouraged me to try this one as an alternative. It gives me a good open size without having to carry one of those giants. Being able to fold it down makes it a handy option alongside the bigger umbrellas. I'm glad I tried it. Recommended.
Selena Finley
I'd recommend them without hesitation.
We picked up two (2) of these for the family about two years back, and they are the ones everybody reaches for. The children want the umbrella with the button rather than the others. The automatic opening and canopy closing make a real difference, and they feel very well made. Smart looking without any fuss, too. I'd recommend them without hesitation. Easily our favorite umbrellas in the house.
Amber Choi
My one reservation is the coverage
I gave this to my husband because he prefers fairly plain umbrellas (so do I). It has a simple look rather than anything loud, which is what I wanted. My one reservation is the coverage; I had pictured something a bit wider. Fine for one person, just not a big umbrella to share. He actually prefers having something he can pack in his backpack, though, so the size suits him. Overall I'm glad I chose it!
Connie Gallegos
Thank you, it arrived quickly and in good condition.
Thank you, it arrived quickly and in good condition. I had thought it would take longer so that was a nice surprise. Very good product for what it costs and the fabric feels good quality. Thank you very much. If I need another I would order again. Many thanks.

It feels SOLID in my hand but isn't a weight to carry around.
Apparently I'd been settling for rubbish umbrellas until this arrived. What a difference. It feels SOLID in my hand but isn't a weight to carry around. On windy days it holds its shape rather than flapping all over me. And that loop grip? I love how secure it feels, its surprisingly comfortable. A few people have admired it as well. I'd recommend this one without hesitation.
Derrick Randolph
He likes the simple finish too.
My husband is six feet tall and always complains that small umbrellas don't cover him properly. This one gives him enough room over his shoulders when he walks across campus. The frame feels substantial rather than flimsy, and the handle is comfortable for him. He likes the simple finish too. At 5'2" I notice the weight a little more, but he doesn't mind carrying it. A press opens it, another closes the canopy, and he compresses the stem before putting it away. It has turned out to be just what he wanted.
Karina Anderson
Overall, a perfectly usable umbrella with a sensible amount of cover.
Pros: Keeps rain off, and the button opening is handy (haven't taken it out in much wind).Cons: The oval handle feels cramped, and my hands aren't particularly big. It's kinda bulky for something sold as compact. The fabric feels ordinary rather than especially nice, so I don't really see where the extra money went.Overall, a perfectly usable umbrella with a sensible amount of cover. Nothing awful about it, but nothing that makes the price feel justified either. A more comfortable grip would have made a difference, cause that's the part you're stuck holding.
Blake English
Definitely recommend.
Generous cover for a compact umbrella, a good firm handle, and it's kept me dry through our Florida showers. There's one at work and a couple in the car so I'm not caught without. Definitely recommend. A GOOD size for one person, without carrying a huge thing around.
Joyce Ortiz
Very happy with it!
I wanted an umbrella that wouldn't feel ready to fold the wrong way every time the wind picked up. Anyone who has walked around Chicago in the rain knows why.My sister only has a few blocks to walk to work, but she still asks to borrow mine on wet mornings. I can hardly blame her. This feels very well put together and has stayed the right way round on the windy walks we've used it for. I still hang on properly rather than expecting miracles, but it gives me a lot more confidence than the flimsy ones I've had. The sleeve is handy for tidying it away afterwards, and the folded size is much easier to manage. Very happy with it!
Samuel Carter
Not terrible, just not the step up I was hoping for.
I spent extra because I wanted something that felt really substantial in breezy weather (and this is only Virginia, nothing extreme). It keeps the rain off, but carrying it is more cumbersome than I expected and the grip isn't especially comfortable for me. Not terrible, just not the step up I was hoping for.
Ellen Garrett
In general I am happy with the umbrella.
For the amount I paid, this seems a good purchase. I have looked over the frame and tried the mechanism, but have not yet had it out in very heavy rain.
It comes with a sleeve for storage. The folded length is about 40 cm and weight approximately 390 g. You do notice it in a bag, and I hope this is a good sign for long use. When open the canopy is around 105 cm across, enough space for me. There are 30 flexible ribs supporting the canopy.
The main convenience is opening it with one press of the button. Pressing again folds the canopy, after which I push the telescoping shaft inward by hand to reset it. This part is manual. The handle is a closed oval loop and feels comfortable to grip.
In general I am happy with the umbrella. It is worth considering the folded size and weight for your own needs. I hope these details help someone with their choice.

Two of us can tuck under this if we stay close.
Two of us can tuck under this if we stay close. I've been using mine for over a year (and bought one for a friend) and it's been excellent. The button is easy to use, and it packs into my larger handbag or backpack without fuss. It has a reassuringly solid feel and hasn't turned inside out on me in the rain.
Mercedes Michael
The button opening works very nicely.
Had two of these arrive and I've been trying them for a few days now. Both looked as expected. Good quality for the money, and the oval handle feels solid in the hand. The button opening works very nicely. Can't say how long they will last yet as it's still early, but no complaints so far. Size is right for one person, covers me well without having a huge umbrella to take about. I like the blue, it looks neat enough to take along to an outdoor event too. Prices in the shops near me were higher for ones I liked less. Having two is useful, leave one ready as a backup or give one as a present. Worth having around for a wedding or any outdoor occasion where rain might turn up :).
Dave Williams
The shape of the handle gives it a different look without being fussy.
Opening it up for the first time made me smile, it is a very attractive umbrella. The shape of the handle gives it a different look without being fussy. Anyone wanting something nicer than the ordinary discount shop umbrella should give this a thought. I'm delighted with mine and feel the extra money was well spent.
Morgan Bass
An excellent shade umbrella for what I paid!
An excellent shade umbrella for what I paid! Gives me plenty of cover without feeling unwieldy, and two can squeeze underneath if necessary. Handy in light showers as well. Easy enough to carry. I'm gentle with the button and folding it away, as I prefer not to force moving parts. At this price I'm more than satisfied.

Our three-year-old wants this umbrella out all the time.
Our three-year-old wants this umbrella out all the time. He plays with it quite a lot and it still seems sturdy, which is encouraging. The button is straightforward for him, but I do help with pressing the shaft back down after the canopy closes. A little more assistance needed than I'd expected, otherwise very happy with it.
Elizabeth Kemp
Best part is how solid it feels for a compact umbrella.
My son was so taken with his that I ended up getting one for myself and my ex-husband as well. Has a smart look without being fussy. The oval handle gives you something secure to hold, and it folds down neatly for carrying. Best part is how solid it feels for a compact umbrella. Delighted with them.
Sheena Kirby
The blue looks good too.
My only real comparison is with inexpensive little umbrellas that struggle as soon as it gets windy. This one dealt with a breezy walk last week without trouble. My girlfriend and I fitted underneath by staying close together, which was handy. The blue looks good too. A decent size when open and it actually did the job.I'm happy with it.
Leslie Mcmahon
I like the handle on this one more than my old umbrella the old…
I like the handle on this one more than my old umbrella the old one always felt sticky in my hand and had a smell to it this oval loop feels nicer to hold and i can keep a good grip without squeezing so much also no odd smell when i opened it up which was nice overall a good umbrella.

We still sing the same favorite song, only now there's an umbrella in the performance. Yes, mama has an escort for grocery outings even when not one drop is falling. It works nicely in the rain, but our little emergency crew seems more concerned about protecting mama on perfectly sunny days. >grin<

She wants to bring it along whenever there's rain...
I spent quite a while looking for an umbrella for a little girl that looked cheerful without feeling like a flimsy toy. So many of the ones I looked at seemed either too tiny to be useful or awkward to operate. I wanted something she would actually enjoy using, but also something that felt properly made. This turned out to be just what I was after. The green is lovely in person and the whole thing has a much more substantial feel than the little children's umbrellas we'd been considering. She loves pressing the button to open it, and pressing it again gathers the canopy; I help her shorten it afterwards. That's easier for us than wrestling with a sliding catch. And she thinks it's beautiful! It's lovely to see her so excited about something as ordinary as an umbrella. She wants to bring it along whenever there's rain... and sometimes when there's only sunshine. I'm very happy to have found something she's so pleased with that also feels like a proper umbrella.

Hard to ask for more at this price.
Hard to ask for more at this price. A simple, smart looking umbrella that has kept me dry even on very wet days. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting something decent without spending a fortune. It feels like money well spent rather than another cheap umbrella to replace.
Tammie David
Much nicer than battling through the rain!
Living in San Francisco means my commute involves plenty of wind and rain. I used to grab cheap umbrellas and never felt they were much good for that daily use. This one has been a much better buy. It has kept me dry and handled the breezy parts of the walk without a fuss. A shake gets most of the drops off before I head indoors, too. Thinking of keeping another at home / work and getting some for family. Much nicer than battling through the rain!

I haven't taken this out in the rain yet.
I haven't taken this out in the rain yet. It's nearly Easter here, and after last week's downpours there hasn't been any rain this week. So far I like what I can see of it, and I'm keen to have a reason to carry it. My only gripe is with umbrellas as a whole rather than this particular one. Why does the choice so often seem to be an enormous golf umbrella or a tiny thing that looks nervous in a breeze? I want something between those extremes, decent cover without a long awkward thing to lug around. This looks like a sensible compromise, but I still need a wet day to find out.
Renee Barrera
it has kept me dry in the showers we've had.
The Haven compact umbrella has a good sized canopy without being an awkward thing to carry around; it has kept me dry in the showers we've had.A press on the handle button opens it straight away. The thirty flexible ribs give the canopy plenty of support, although I will be interested to see how the frame stands up after it has been packed and unpacked many times. It seems nicely assembled at the moment. I wouldn't call it the lightest folding umbrella I've carried, but it still makes sense to take along rather than a full length one. As for strong wind, I haven't had the weather to give it much of a test yet. The frame has some give, which seems sensible, but I would rather use it for a while before saying much more. If anything changes after rougher weather I'll add to this. For the ordinary rainy days so far, it has been an excellent umbrella to have with me.
