Feels like a well made umbrella. It seems sturdy enough for the windy days I've tried it on. I would still like a bigger canopy; roughly 105cm is fine for me alone, not really for sharing comfortably with somebody else.Update: having a button to pop it open is a brilliant little convenience.

I always thought a cheap umbrella was enough until my old one gave up.
I always thought a cheap umbrella was enough until my old one gave up. Spent some time looking into sturdier folding ones and decided this was worth paying a bit more for. So far it's been great in wet, windy weather, which makes the extra cost feel sensible. I'm only 5'3" and haven't found it awkward or tiring to carry either. Glad I upgraded!

The loop handle is handy to carry it by.
Very happy with this! I got it for the several blocks between my office and where I park, which gets pretty miserable in the Texas heat. The shade makes that walk much nicer. Opens without a fuss, folds away neatly and slides into its sleeve easily. The loop handle is handy to carry it by. Money well spent!

We're keeping these because they're well made and useful.
We ordered two and I like how solid they feel, The opening action is very handy too. I hadn't really pictured what roughly 105cm across would mean once I was standing underneath. It's fine for one person, just not the wide shelter I was imagining. That's my expectation rather than a fault with it. I suppose compact umbrellas can't be both tiny to carry and huge over your head lol. We're keeping these because they're well made and useful. Next time I want one to share I'll look for something larger and pay more attention to the actual room underneath.

Overall I am pleased to use it.
For a folding umbrella this has a decent amount of cover. It is not golf-umbrella size, but I find it more practical to carry, and it feels quite solid for something that packs down. I have not had that feeling that I need to baby it every time there is a breeze. The reason for four stars is mainly the folded length. It fits in my bag, although it takes more room than the very small umbrellas I have owned. The button takes care of opening and closing the canopy, which is convenient when I am in a hurry. Not perfect for every bag, but a sensible price and smart looking. Overall I am pleased to use it.

The flexible ribs seem a sensible idea and it feels sturdy in use.
Rain where I live rarely turns up without wind, and meny umbrellas I've owned haven't lasted far beyond the front door. This one has coped very nicely with the weather so far. The flexible ribs seem a sensible idea and it feels sturdy in use. I'd trust it with rain, though probably not anything dropping out of a volcano.

Only thing is to keep a good grip when it's gusty.
I'm enjoying this umbrella enough to consider giving one to friends. The coverage is good for me, and someone else can squeeze under when needed. The button is brilliant for those moments getting on or off public transport.Only thing is to keep a good grip when it's gusty. Let go and I reckon I'd be running after it down the road.

This is one I actually want to be seen carrying!
This is one I actually want to be seen carrying! No proper outing with it yet, but I've opened it up and admired it more than is probably necessary. The green canopy looks beautiful spread out; a very pleasing shape. Most of my walks are along the river rather than the narrow streets in town, so I should have plenty of space to enjoy it.I liked it enough to buy another color as well. Now I just need a gentle rainy day for its debut. I may also take it out for some shade on a sunny walk. Honestly, it's a bit ridiculous to be wishing for weather just so I can carry an umbrella, but here we are. :-)

A lot of thought seems to have gone into this umbrella.
A lot of thought seems to have gone into this umbrella. The canopy gives decent cover and the ribs have some flexibility when the wind catches it, rather than feeling completely rigid. I like how neatly it folds back together for carrying. The green is easy to spot without being too loud (which matters when you tend to leave umbrellas behind). Haven't managed to lose this one yet, so that's another plus.
Chloe Clarke
A practical size without feeling like something disposable.
I've gone through plenty of folding umbrellas over the years, and this one suits the sort of use I actually need. Mostly that means the short walk between home and the subway, not standing outside in a downpour for ages. It gives me enough cover on those trips and doesn't feel cumbersome to bring along. I can fit it in my everyday bag, which is the main thing for me. A practical size without feeling like something disposable.
Ashley Humphrey
Very glad I picked it up!
Teaching means I'm outside on bus duty morning and afternoon, whatever the weather. I've gone through several umbrellas when the wind catches them by the buses. This one has been a welcome change, (especially with all the rain we've had this spring!) It has kept me covered and hasn't folded back on me during duty. Very glad I picked it up!
Bonnie Bradshaw
The oval handle is a particularly nice touch.
My daughter-in-law is delighted with the umbrella I chose for her. It feels well put together and opens wide enough to give her good cover on the walk between work and the car. Has a much nicer feel than the price suggests. The oval handle is a particularly nice touch.
Suzanne Mathews
Useful for staying dry or making shade in the sun.
People look at this umbrella and quite a few give a smile. The blue makes even a dull rainy day seem a little more cheerful :-)I enjoy it: not heavy to carry, seems fairly tough, and the colour has stayed nice. Useful for staying dry or making shade in the sun.

This was a Christmas present for my son-in-law.
This was a Christmas present for my son-in-law. I compared quite a few umbrellas befor settling on this one. He seemed very happy when he opened it at Christmas. Whether he has actually been out in the rain with it yet I couldn't say, but his first impression was good.

People have said how nice it looks, which is a bonus.
I wanted an umbrella that made wet days feel a bit less gloomy, and this one does that for me. People have said how nice it looks, which is a bonus. It has coped well with gusts so far without flipping over. There's room for someone to tuck in beside me too, provided we walk close together.
Sharon Stuart
Feels solid without having to haul a huge umbrella around.
After two years of getting used constantly, I'm back for another of these. Living in NYC means a rainy day isn't just the dash from a car- you walk through it, and this has been a really useful size for that. It slips into my work bag but opens wide enough to give me decent coverage. Feels solid without having to haul a huge umbrella around. Being able to press once and have it open is a feature I wouldn't want to lose.

I chose green and it's a good shade - not too bright.
My wife has wanted a decent umbrella for ages, after making do with those flimsy folding ones (you know the sort that never feel quite up to much). She absolutely loves this one. I chose green and it's a good shade - not too bright. The way she keeps talking about it, I probably could have held it back for her birthday. Oh well! I like the closed oval handle too, it's easy to keep a grip on. Opening it with the button is much less fiddly than our old ones. It has a good spread when it's up, but still folds down to something sensible to carry. A solid, useful umbrella that looks smart as well, which is what she was after.I've now ordered another for me. Not the cheapest thing to buy, but I feel we've spent the money well.
Lacey Wiggins
Happy to recommend from what I have seen.
The umbrella seems strong, the blue fabric with black underneath looks good, the ribs feel secure as well. Hoping it will be just as good in rain (and perhaps for some shade too). It arrived quickly and everything was in order. Happy to recommend from what I have seen.
Clayton Griffith
Much nicer than I thought it would be.
Much nicer than I thought it would be. I picked up this and a smaller umbrella (useful, just a bit tiny) and the pair works well for me. This stays in the car and the smaller one goes into the office. The handy button was the main thing that persuaded me to get this one.
Pam Downs
It isn't the lightest umbrella, but he likes the solid feel of it.
my co worker used to complain about umbrellas giving up whenever it got windy. A few winters later he's still carrying this one.The ribs have some give, rather than everything feeling rigid. It isn't the lightest umbrella, but he likes the solid feel of it. Good product. I'd buy one for myself except I'm forever setting umbrellas down and forgetting where I left them. The price is a bit up there, but If you keep track of your belongings I think it's worth getting. No point buying a nice one just to leave it some where.
Gordon Hammond
Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella.
Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Works nicely, I'd recommend this umbrella. Very nice.

It came in good condition.
It came in good condition. The last bit of putting it away needs a stronger push than I expected.
The canopy closes with the button, and the pole presses down by hand with a springy feeling. I checked the metal closely and it looks clean, so I am happy overall.
Steven Mueller
Five stars for how sturdy this umbrella is.
Five stars for how sturdy this umbrella is. My Mom had been going on about wanting a nice umbrella, so I ordered her one! She loves it and and was delighted I'd remembered. The canopy gives a good amount of cover without being a tiny little thing. What use is an umbrell that leaves half of you wet? It's doing the job very nicely for her. Happy to recommend it. Only thing, I noticed it for less somewhere afterwards, so perhaps have a look around on price before buying.
Marco Avila
Finding I could also use it for shade made it more appealing.
I wanted decent coverage for myself on rainy days out with the kids, rather than one of those umbrellas that barely covers your head. This one has enough room for me and a child tucked in close. Finding I could also use it for shade made it more appealing. The price seemed fair just for keeping the rain off, so having something useful on sunny spring and summer days is a bonus.
Maureen Rhodes
Even better, the umbrella itself is lovely to look at.
The packaging was carefully done. Even better, the umbrella itself is lovely to look at. Pretty things always catch my eye and this one certainly did. I enjoy the push-button action and it feels reassuringly sturdy, not flimsy when rain arrives. I'd be quite willing to choose another in the future.
Edwin Macdonald
Rather tempted to get my own now...
For my daughter's 12th birthday I replaced her old worn out umbrella with this one.The fabric feels like a proper adult umbrella rather than a toy, which she likes. She's used it waiting at the bus stop in the rain and is pleased with it. It feels reasonably solid, though we haven't tested it in any serious wind so I can't say much there. But it looks smart and quite grown up. Rather tempted to get my own now...
Grace Lynch
I am thoroughly pleased with it.
I ordered the beige version and it reached me in good condition. My first impression was of a fairly substantial little umbrella, rather than one of those flimsy things that seems expendable from the outset. The outer fabric is beige, with black on the inside, a combination I find quite agreeable when standing beneath it. There are many slender ribs supporting the fabric and the whole arrangement looks neatly put together. Opened up, mine is roughly 105cm across, sufficient for my purposes without being an enormous apparatus to carry about. The handle is a closed oval loop, not the conventional crook. The button operates with some authority, both spreading the cover and collapsing it. Afterwards the telescoping section needs to be compressed by hand to make the package short again. Nothing particularly difficult about that. The separate sleeve makes a tidy bundle of it once dry. With reasonable treatment I would expect a good deal of use from this.
July has been very hot here in southwestern Montana, with temperatures hanging around the hundred degree mark. My several-mile walk along the county roads to collect the mail had become less enjoyable than it ought to be. Getting there was tolerable; coming home under the full sun was another matter. I had already tried carrying an old large rain umbrella and found the shade useful, but wanted something more convenient to take along. An umbrella cannot cool the surrounding air or stop a road radiating heat at you. It can, however, put something between your head and that relentless sunshine. This seemed a rather straightforward way of addressing the most uncomfortable part of the walk, without making the business into a complicated expedition.
In practice this one does the job nicely. Walking beneath it is noticeably more comfortable than walking uncovered, and it has served perfectly well during rain too. A useful portable patch of shade which folds down afterwards, rather than another long object to find a place for. I am thoroughly pleased with it. The horses along the road remain somewhat dubious.
Janice Newman
He is delighted with it!
I wanted some shade for my husband, who is outside a lot during the summer and has very fair skin. He is delighted with it! Says it feels good to hold and gives him a welcome break from direct sunshine. Now I'm wondering whether to get another one just for myself!!
Jimmy Massey
I love taking this out in the sunshine!
I love taking this out in the sunshine! I have a sun allergy, so I'm always thinking about keeping my head and face shaded. Having the umbrella above me is so much nicer than wrapping something around my head. It has a pretty, feminine look and I've had comments about how nice it is. And my hair doesn't get flattened while I'm holding it over me! It is easy to open and gives me my own little patch of shade. I'm delighted with it and would certainly buy it again!
Jillian Hill
There is a nice quality to this umbrella when you pick it up.
There is a nice quality to this umbrella when you pick it up. The fabric feels good and the closed oval handle is comfortable to hold. Folded, it doesn't take up much room, but open it gives decent cover. The spring is quite lively, so leave some space around it. Whether it lasts years remains to be seen. Based on using it so far, I would happily recommend it or buy again.
Yvonne Downs
She is two, so I work the button and help her hold it open.
This pink umbrella looked adorable with my little grand daughter all dressed up. I liked it's simple look, not covered in pictures or anything. She is two, so I work the button and help her hold it open. It seems nicely made, and I can see her using it more herself as she gets older.
Scott Deleon
It feels pretty solid when there's a bit of wind.
The green looks a bit different in the photo to me. I expected it to be muted, but in person it has more life to it. Much nicer!! My friend, who I bought one for, likes it as much as I do.I kept another for myself. There's a good amount of room under it for me, and I can keep my backpack tucked in out of the rain too. That was something my old umbrellas weren't very good at. It feels pretty solid when there's a bit of wind. At first I found pushing the shaft back in rather hard, even after using the button to fold the canopy. It's easier now, maybe I'm finding a better grip? My thumbs aren't particularly strong.Folded up, it is a little longer and thicker than I'd pictured, although I can still slide it into my backpack's side pocket. For the shelter it gives, that's fine with me. There's a carry sleeve as well, which I haven't really found myself using yet!
Leroy Wood
It looked very pretty with the outfit and felt sturdy in the hand.
We used the umbrella as part of a bathing suit entry in a beauty contest and it did exactly what we needed. It looked very pretty with the outfit and felt sturdy in the hand. We were all very please with the result, it finished everything off nicely for the event.
Jimmy Gibson
A very worthwhile buy if you're after a decent everyday umbrella.
Two Christmas presents, one for my mother and one for my sister, and both have been a hit! They feel properly made the moment you hold them. I've heard back that they DO cope nicely with windy days too. A very worthwhile buy if you're after a decent everyday umbrella.
Tasha Gonzales
I certainly recommend it.
Reading some comments I think alot of people expect closing to mean the whole thing retracts by itself. The button folds the canopy; you still press the telescoping part down to reset it. That's just how it works, not a problem with mine. Out in the rain it gives good coverage and feels solid without being a full length umbrella to carry around. Having a button for opening it is a absolute pleasure when you want it up quickly. Understand what you're getting and I think you'll be happy with it. I certainly recommend it.
Angel Hood
More cover than I expected from a folding umbrella!
More cover than I expected from a folding umbrella! It feels substantial without being too heavy for me. The button opens it quickly--worth checking no one is right beside you first. Press again to close the canopy, then compress the pole by hand. That takes a little push, but nothing difficult.Once folded it is a handy size to put away. I've used it for rain and for some shade outside too. My children have even borrowed it for their backyard picnics. (Anything to make a little shady spot, apparently!) It feels well made, and I'm hoping it will be around for plenty more rainy days.
Patty Montgomery
I'm very pleased with how useful it has turned out to be.
This umbrella has been very handy for rainy walks because it gives me decent coverage without being a great big thing to carry. The canopy feels secure overhead and I have been comfortable using it when the rain comes with a bit of wind. What really made me appreciate it was getting our dogs outside when they would much rather stay in the house. At night especially, they seem to need a lot of convincing before they will go out and do what they need to do. I can hold this over myself and give them a little shelter when they stay close, which makes the whole business easier.
The other thing that pleased me was the weight. Looking at all the ribs I thought it might feel cumbersome, but I can manage it in one hand and still deal with the dogs. A press of the button opens it straight away, so there isn't that awkward moment of trying to push an umbrella up while everything else is going on.
For me the nicest part is simply being able to enjoy walking in the rain instead of spending the walk fiddling with the umbrella. It feels steady enough for the ordinary weather I use it in and folds down to something I don't mind carrying back. I'm very pleased with how useful it has turned out to be.
Mason Little
Good sturdy umbrella, useful for shade as well as rain.
Good sturdy umbrella, useful for shade as well as rain. blocks the sun nicely when i'm standing about outside. the opening action is pretty quick though, so i make sure there's nobody right next to me before pressing it. closing needs a bit more effort than i thought. the canopy folds with the button, then you have to push the shaft back down yourself, which is normal but quite firm. i use both hands for that part instead of trying to rush it. apart from those little things it's been a good purchase.
Luis Woodard
More room than I expected.
I'd read that it opened to a decent size, but seeing the canopy spread out from such a small folded umbrella still surprised me! More room than I expected. No rain to try it in yet, so I can only comment on the feel, which is reassuringly sturdy. An impressive first look!
Luis Pollard
Very pleased with it.
WOW, bigger opened out than I expected from a compact umbrella. My wife and I fit underneath if we stand close. The frame has loads of ribs and feels substantial. Very pleased with it. You still need to shorten it by hand after pressing the close button, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Chelsey Green
Quite a lot to unwrap for one umbrella!
Gray is even across the canopy and the fabric sits neatly on the frame. The handle is more practical than fancy, but it feels secure. One warning: getting into the wrapping took patience! There was a plastic covering, padded air packaging, then more wrapping inside the outer bag. Tape seemed to join every layer to the next. I ended up carefully snipping my way through it so I wouldn't catch the umbrella itself. Quite a lot to unwrap for one umbrella!
Harold Larson
The umbrella itself is very nice.
The umbrella itself is very nice. I was concerned by the condition of the box when it arrived. There wasn't much cushioning around it, either. I checked the handle and shaft carefully, then tried the button a few times. Everything was straight and it worked exactly as it should. I'd really wanted this umbrella and was dreading having to send it back and go through buying another one. Thankfully, that wasn't necessary. Once I had it open I was satisfied with the size and how it felt to hold. The packing could have been better, but I am happy with the umbrella.
Shaun Flores
Definitely pleased with the purchase!
I've wasted money on cheap umbrellas when caught in a downpour, so I wanted something better for my walk to the office. This one is a big improvement! It gives me room to stay dry and doesn't feel flimsy in my hand. I can keep an eye on the people coming towards me by holding it at a sensible height, rather than peering around the edge. It's dealt well with the windy days I've used it on too. Definitely pleased with the purchase! Two people could squeeze underneath, but for me it's really a comfortable one person umbrella.

One stays in the car.
Mislaid the umbrella I liked most, and living in Florida means I don't like being without one. Went with this type again and got a second to keep as a spare. One stays in the car.It opens up to a useful size but still goes into my briefcase when folded. Glad I replaced it with something I already knew I liked.
Tara Giles
the umbrella was packed nicely when it arrived.
the umbrella was packed nicely when it arrived. So pleased with it..!!! it's my second one, the frist is a little folding umbrella I keep in my bag. I wanted a bit more cover for going down to the lake and this gives me that without being a full size beach umbrella. The shade feels nice when the sun is out. i can see myself taking this one along often.
David Griffin
not such a silly present after all...
we had been talking about those enormous umbrellas we used to carry so i got this as a joke present for a co-worker. the pink made us laugh but she left it in her car anyway. went out on her break & the rain started, so it got her back into work dry. not such a silly present after all...she actually uses it lol
Kurt Dyer
For what it cost I think it's a decent umbrella.
I'd had enough of the tiny umbrellas that seem fine until you actually need them in rain. The other annoyance is remembering one when I'm driving somewhere, especially if I've left it in my wife's car. I wanted this one to have a regular place in the car rather than being moved around and forgotten. It has worked out well for that, although it does come inside when we're expecting a wet day.
For what it cost I think it's a decent umbrella. The black is plain, which suits me, and it feels more substantial than the little ones I used before. Opened up there's enough coverage that I'm not having to pull my shoulders in to stay underneath it. I've had it around two months now and taken it out several times in rain with some wind, without any trouble.
I'm giving four stars because it takes up more space folded than I had pictured. It fits in the car fine, just isn't something I'd put in a small pocket. Not a big enough issue to bother returning it, and it hasn't changed how well it does the job. Overall I'm happy with what I bought and would consider another to leave at home.
Ricky Hamilton
I've found this umbrella very handy to keep around.
I've found this umbrella very handy to keep around. It fits in my larger purse or the storage space in the car door, but once opened it gives me enough cover to stay dry. Folding it up keeps it tidy for putting away. The feature I appreciate most is the button opening. When I'm getting out of the car and have my keys and bag to deal with, not having to pull an umbrella open makes a real difference. The black looks smart and straightforward, just as I hoped it would. It feels well put together and I'm hoping this will be one I can keep using for a good while.
Ernest Villa
It arrived and now she appears to think I bought it for her!
Pretentious, sadly, is a word I seem to be pushing out of the enclosure of my mouth every day. Except when the family or the neighbors have gone on holiday, naturally. With rain here practically daily, I saw this umbrella and had to have it! Then I had to consider whether it would make me look like a hipster :) A photo doesn't tell you everything. My wife said we didn't need it, but I had already decided. It arrived and now she appears to think I bought it for her! The design is lovely, there's something almost architectural about its shape opened up. And neither of us looks like we're making a grand statement just to go down the street. Attractive without all that trying to be fashionable business. We both like it!
