Even nicer looking in person.

Even nicer looking in person. The button is simple enough for my little girl to use, although I help with packing it down afterwards. She is very proud of carrying her own umbrella. A couple of her teachers have commented on it too. Just the right thing for that stage of wanting to do everything herself.

The cover has kept me dry and it opens just fine.

My daughter gave me the green umbrella for Christmas about a year ago. The cover has kept me dry and it opens just fine.I am less keen on putting it away. Pressing the button closes the top, then the pole still needs to be compressed by hand. I understand that's normal, but it takes more effort than I would like. It is also bulkier in my bag than I expected. I'm sorry to sound fussy, but at this price I had hoped for something a bit easier to manage.Nice enough, just not the umbrella I reach for first

10/10 More room under it than I was expecting!

10/10 More room under it than I was expecting! Two people can share if they stand close, which is great for something that packs down this much. Time will tell about durability, but first impressions are excellent. Pressing the button folds the canopy, then you need to push the telescoping stem in yourself with a bit of effort. That took a moment to get used to, but absolutely happy with the purchase.

It's bigger than I expected, but worth the extra bulk.

I've had enough of umbrellas folding backwards whenever it gets windy. This one has held up well so far and feels solid to use. It's bigger than I expected, but worth the extra bulk. I'd still choose something smaller and lighter for travel, but I'm happy to have this one.

Love having it along.

Here in Southern California mine spends most of the year shading me, with rain duty only a handful of times (we don't exactly get much of that here). Love having it along. It makes hot days feel more comfortable and people have actually stopped to admire it. Pretty enough to be fun, but useful rather than just something to look at.

Mandy Howell

A little more width would be nice.

Walking to work in Chicago means an umbrella actually has to earn its place in my bag. This one has done a good job on the wet, windy days I've carried it! Seeing abandoned umbrellas around makes me glad this feels so sturdy. My one reservation is the coverage when I've got my big work bag with me. I'm average sized and I stay covered, but the bag sometimes ends up sticking out and catching rain. A little more width would be nice. Otherwise it's convenient to carry and easy to use, and packing it into my bag afterwards is no bother.

I use it for shade at my bus stop downtown.

The green wasn't quite the shade I thought from the photo, but I like the umbrella. I use it for shade at my bus stop downtown. They removed our one tree to put in a ramp, so now there's nowhere out of the sun, and being fair skinned I really notice it. Holding this over me makes the wait much more comfortable. Somebody gave me a funny look and said there wasn't any rain. I pointed out that there was certainly plenty of sun, and he looked a lot hotter than I felt. That ended that conversation.

The pink is close to what was shown.

Ordered early in August and the delivery estimate was somewhere in September or October, so having it turn up roughly ten days later was a nice surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect from the pictures alone. In person it looks properly put together and the frame feels quite solid, although I haven't tested it in really rough wind. The pink is close to what was shown. One detail worth noticing is that the handle is an oval clip loop, rather than an open hook. The button action is great, both putting it up and drawing the canopy closed.

Another one for the car!

Another one for the car! My older umbrella is staying in the garage for the dash to the mailbox and for wheeling the big trash can up the driveway when it rains.I can't praise the automatic opening and canopy closing enough. It is so helpful when I'm trying to get groceries into the car. I still have to move quickly between the cart and the trunk, but being able to open it straight away makes the whole business less soggy. Once I'm sitting down I bring the door nearly shut, press the button to collapse the canopy and lay the umbrella on the passenger side floor. There is still the telescoping shaft to compress manually before it is completely packed down. That part isn't automatic, just worth knowing beforehand. I don't bother putting it away properly while it is wet anyway. Back home it stays open in the garage to dry, then I fold it neatly and put the sleeve on. Oh, and the green is a lovely cheerful color!

My old umbrella had worn out, so I chose this as a replacement.

My old umbrella had worn out, so I chose this as a replacement. It keeps the rain off, but the build feels less substantial than I expected and it's a little bulky folded. Nothing wrong with how it works, just not quite what I wanted. I'd probably choose something else next time.

Kylie Summers

This umbrella has been a very dependable one.

This umbrella has been a very dependable one. I've used it over the last two years, including on breezy days, and it's held up nicely. Spending this much made me hesitate, since I didn't want another umbrella that would turn inside out at the first gust. In use it's been reassuringly sturdy. A little more coverage would be nice, but I'm still glad I bought it.

I have used mine through several rainy seasons in New York.

I have used mine through several rainy seasons in New York. The handle sits nicely in my hand and the frame feels strong when the rain comes with some wind. It folds down small enough for my larger handbag, which is why I keep bringing it along. If I was getting umbrellas for my family I would pick this one again, it has been a very good everyday umbrella for me.

Ordered for my husband on our Florida holiday..

Ordered for my husband on our Florida holiday.. He uses an umbrella for shade since having skin cancer, often while sitting watching sports. We (family) had a little laugh about the pink...but he was very happy with it. :) :) Feels nicely made and gives him a decent area of shade. Folds away too, which is useful when we're done watching. A present he appreciated.

Bryce Salinas

Strong umbrella, hopeless owner.

Good cover for me, and a friend can squeeze in close. Had mine roughly a year and took it to Hawaii twice, handy for shade at the beach as well as rain. Then I left it in an airport shop. Remembered once I was already on the plane, of course. Strong umbrella, hopeless owner. Looks like I'll be buying the same one again.

These umbrella's have turned out as useful as I hoped.

These umbrella's have turned out as useful as I hoped. One stays in my car, another in the truck, and I keep one at home so there's always one handy. I get a secure hold on the handle and the canopy gives me a good amount of cover in the rain. Happy with what I got for the money, thank you.

My first Haven umbrella, and I'm pleased with it so far.

My first Haven umbrella, and I'm pleased with it so far. The frame seems solid and the fabric has a substantial feel, so hopefully it will last. A press of the button raises the canopy, and another press brings the canopy in again. You then shorten the telescoping stem with a firm push, which is the bit that takes some effort when you're trying to get indoors quickly. Once wrapped it's about 40cm long, so compact rather than tiny. Getting all the fabric lying neatly takes me a minute too. There's comfortable cover for one person, which is what I need. I like the plain design and would happily recommend it for everyday use!

Meghan Simmons

It isn't weightless but that solid feeling suits me.

Goodness, this opens out bigger than I imagined from a folding umbrella. Feels properly sturdy and the opening action is smooth, almost too respectable for someone like me to be carrying around jk. It isn't weightless but that solid feeling suits me. Seems a very decent umbrella for the money, I have nothing to grumble about.

Dwayne Mcintyre

I'd recommend it.

I used to spend as little as possible on umbrellas, but decided a fancy man such as myself ought to have something a bit smarter - so I went for black. Glad I did. It feels a lot more substantial than the bargain ones I was forever picking up, and the closed loop handle gives it a different look without getting in the way. The button action is particularly satisfying. My one little gripe is the sleeve; it does the job, but it's quite plain next to the umbrella itself. I suppose I was expecting something a little more dressed up after deciding to be fancy. Still, that's hardly a reason to mark down an umbrella that carries neatly and keeps the rain off. No idea how long it'll last, but the first impression is very good. I'd recommend it.

Robin Mcfarland

I do the pushing down part afterwards.

Getting my 4 year old daughter into a raincoat is a battle, but she'll happily carry this. She likes pressing the button to open it herself. I do the pushing down part afterwards. The sleeve is useful for putting it away, although she wants it out even on dry days...

Connor Alvarez

I really love this umbrella.

I really love this umbrella. Having a button down by the handle to open it is what puts it ahead of the other umbrella's I've used. With my hands already full, one press gets it open without any fuss. The whole thing feels well made too. Easily one of my favorite umbrella's so far and I'd happily recommend it.

Ashlee Brandt

Kept me dry in plenty of rain.

Ridiculously cute - that's the main thing. It's been getting lovely comments. Packing it away is the part I'm less keen on. The sleeve is a close fit, not the sort you can just stuff a wet umbrella into and forget about. I have to fold the fabric neatly first. A little fiddly. But once I worked out how to gather it up, it wasn't much of a job. Worth it for something I enjoy carrying! Kept me dry in plenty of rain. Haven't really tested it in wind. The automatic action on the canopy is a real plus.

Yvette Wagner

That's how I feel about this umbrella.

You can keep messing about with bargain stuff that barely does the job, or pay a bit more once and have something decent. That's how I feel about this umbrella. Good coverage, feels properly put together and hasn't given me grief when it's breezy. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

Deborah Dickson

Good cover when rain comes in sideways too.

Got this for my daughter a little over a year back, she was 2/12 then. It can be awkard to fit in a bag when folded, but that doesn't change how well it works. Good cover when rain comes in sideways too. She likes the beige and being able to hold her own umbrella, with me helping on the button.

Vickie Raymond

I bought my first one in a local shop several years back.

I bought my first one in a local shop several years back. Being able to open it and close the canopy with a button is wonderful in heavy rain, especially when getting into the car. It looks smart, gives me plenty of cover, and slips into the pocket inside my car door. I bought two more as Christmas gifts for co-workers. Hopefully they'll enjoy theirs just as much as I've enjoyed mine.

The black underneath is a nice contrast.

Old fashioned umbrellas have always appealed to me My grandmother had a cream white one that I used for ages, right up until it was no longer usable. I liked having something that looked a bit more special than the usual little folding umbrella.I looked *everywhere* for a replacement. So many were either too fussy or cost more than I wanted to spend! This one is much simpler than her old umbrella, but the cream white has that lovely classic look. The black underneath is a nice contrast. The fabric feels good and the frame is more substantial than I expected. The closed oval handle is comfortable to hold too, rather than a traditional hook, but I don't mind that. It's also nice being able to put it in a bag instead of carrying a long umbrella all day. Pressing a button to open it is a modern convenience I can appreciate, even with my taste for older styles. My only grumbles:It isn't a decorative old fashioned shape, and sometimes I think a brighter color would have been fun. Still, for something I can actually use, I'm delighted.

Franklin Reid

My aunt is delighted with this.

My aunt is delighted with this. She brought it along on our last holiday and kept telling me how much nicer it was having her own shade when we were standing about in the sun.Not enough use yet for me to say anything about how long it'll last, but she's happy with the shelter it gives, both on sunny days and when the rain comes along!

Mandy Knight

I expected it to feel lighter...

I expected it to feel lighter... that was my first reaction when I picked it up. Not huge, and not difficult to hold, just more noticeable in my hand than I wanted from a compact umbrella. I kept going back to that. If you prefer something you barely notice carrying, you'll know what I mean. The handle took a little getting used to. Holding the oval loop more comfortably rather than squeezing it so tightly helped... after that it wasn't nearly as bothersome. So that did improve, to be fair. Opening it with the button was straightforward. Closing the canopy was too, though you still press the telescoping part back in yourself. I didn't have any problem doing that. Hadn't tried it in rain at that point, so I couldn't really say much about the important part. I was mostly judging how it felt to carry. Probably too much, but that's what matters to me. Update: Took it out in the rain with the baby. We had enough cover and it worked as it should. The handle was more comfortable by then, and the weight wasn't bothering me the way it had at first. I'm still giving it 1 star for my preference on carrying weight. Nothing failed, and as an umbrella it was otherwise satisfactory.

Yvette Clayton

The loop handle seems to catch people's eye.

Besides being useful, this umbrella gets more comments than I expected. I had a favourite with a similar look years ago and was sorry when it eventually wore out. It took a fair bit of looking to find another I liked. Now I'm getting those conversations in the street again, usually someone wanting to know where I found it. The loop handle seems to catch people's eye. I'm glad to have found this one.

Zachary Solis

Very good umbrella.

Very good umbrella. Holding back the fifth star because for something compact/portable it still feels fairly bulky. Maybe that extra substance is part of why I like using it so much - just wish there was a little less weight and size to carry around. Overall though, I'm happy with it as a take-along umbrella. And....it's rather nice looking too!

Robyn Jordan

Not the cheapest umbrella I've bought, but worth it to me.

I used to think spending much on an umbrella was pointless, but I get far more use out of this than I expected. Being able to collapse the canopy with one press is so convenient that using my old manual one feels like a nuisance now. You still have to compress the telescoping shaft yourself, which is straightforward. I managed to lose my first one within a couple of weeks and didn't really hesitate over paying for another. Not the cheapest umbrella I've bought, but worth it to me. The gray looks smart without being flashy, and the sleeve is useful for keeping everything neat when it's folded. Between the convenience and how it looks, I'd happily recommend it.

Trevor West

I'd happily recommend it.

Such a pretty umbrella and the finish is much nicer than the price led me to expect. My daughter wants it for a costume, but is already asking if she can carry it for shade afterwards. I can see it looking lovely in her room as well. A very affordable choice that doesn't look cheap. I'd happily recommend it.

Tanya Zuniga

That part needs a firm push, & it's worth knowing beforehand.

Very happy with the umbrella, especially the button for opening & folding the canopy. Older hands: TAKE NOTE. The telescoping shaft still needs to be compressed manually before you can open it again. That part needs a firm push, & it's worth knowing beforehand. I'm 60 and quite strong, so I can manage it, but it takes more effort than the button does. I hold the handle steady and press down with my other hand until it's fully shortened. Someone with arthritis or a weak grip might find that part difficult. Otherwise it's worked beautifully for me and I like it a lot.

Stephanie Howe

Its useful, easy to carry, and already the umbrella I reach for first.

What I love is how much umbrella you get once this little package is open. Compact and roomy, solid without feeling like a brick... I've had enough disappointing umbrellas to appreciate that. The button action has a definite snap to it and the canopy feels secure above me. Two people can shelter underneath together if they keep close. The black looks smart rather than flashy, and that oval handle gives it a different look from the usual ones. Its useful, easy to carry, and already the umbrella I reach for first. I'd happily get another.

Bryan Zhang

A good purchase for me.

Arrived just as we were getting snow and wind, so it didn't sit unused for long. My bigger golf umbrella can pull me around when it gets blustery, this smaller one was easier for me to handle. It kept the wet off and I wasn't fighting such a big canopy. Very happy with how it did and expect to be reaching for it quite often. A good purchase for me.

Haley Ortiz

My grandson is delighted with his umbrella.

My grandson is delighted with his umbrella. It fits in his school backpack and he likes the smart look. He's 10 and very particular about what counts as 'cool' these days, apparently having your own button umbrella passes the test. His friends liked it too so Grandma has managed to get something right for once in his opinion :-)

Paige Sweeney

The blue looks good as well, which certainly doesn't hurt.

You see people being practical about rain in Japan, and here in the states half of us seem to just hope it won't happen. Me included. Having a compact umbrella that opens with a press is hardly some grand invention, but why did I put up with fiddling around before? One button and I'm under cover... BRILLIANT!!! LOL. The blue looks good as well, which certainly doesn't hurt.

Savannah Ferrell

No real trouble with it.

I hesitated after reading some less than cheerful reviews, but mine has been going for a year now and is still absolutely fine! I take a second to fold it neatly before putting it away, and the frame still feels sturdy. No real trouble with it. Still think it's adorable!

Taylor Lucero

It's kept me dry on plenty of occasions.

For a folding umbrella, this has been a lot steadier in Chicago's wind than the small ones I've used before. It's kept me dry on plenty of occasions. I can carry it by hand or tuck it into my messenger bag, which is much less bother than bringing a long golf umbrella along.

Selena Haynes

I wouldn't expect a folding umbrella to make that disappear.

I was in need of an umbrella but wasn't after anything fancy or expensive. This seemed reasonably priced and the look appealed to me too. Once I had it in my hands I thought it was actually pretty nice. The button gets it open quickly and also shuts the canopy, which is handy. The only reservation is that when it's really windy I have to hold it firmly and watch which direction the gusts are coming from. I wouldn't expect a folding umbrella to make that disappear. Other than that, i have been quite satisfied with it and would recommend it for everyday use.

Jim Boyle

Also, the man I love has not claimed this one for himself.

It folds down neatly and looks much nicer than a plain everyday umbrella. That oval handle makes it a bit different. Also, the man I love has not claimed this one for himself. It's a little heavier than I expected, but I can actually find it when I need it. Staying where I put it is a very nice feature :)

Mariah Valencia

Nice bit of kit.

Nice bit of kit. Haven't had enough rain to really judge its strength yet, so it's mostly been sitting ready for action. Mine took a little while to arrive, which was the only nuisance. I'll come back with more thoughts once I've had a few proper chances to use it.

Cindy James

Sensible, useful, and a purchase I'm genuinely happy about!!!

City living taught me to appreciate an umbrella that isn't a battle to carry. Rain between tall buildings can be awkward, and a flimsy frame is no fun when you're trying to get somewhere. This one feels reassuringly solid without being a great long thing to cart about. The flexible frame has coped well with the wet, breezy weather I've used it in, which matters more to me than fancy looks. My bigger problem, honestly, is leaving umbrellas behind in restaurants! Having something compact that I can put away with my other things is a help. The button is especially useful getting out of a car, and when I get back in I can press it to gather the canopy before pushing the pole down by hand. That's a nice bit of convenience, not a reason to wrestle with a wet umbrella at the door. BTW, I don't need it to shelter a whole group, just to give me proper cover and still be manageable afterwards. It does that very nicely. Sensible, useful, and a purchase I'm genuinely happy about!!!

Ryan Stevenson

Love having this, soo glad I spent the money.

Love having this, soo glad I spent the money. It gets windy where I live and my previous umbrella was pretty useless. This one has dealt with the gusts we've had without making me feel like I'm wrestling it. My friends thought I was mad paying more for an umbrella, gave me that "you know that's just an umbrella right" look. Funny how different the looks were when the rain got going and they saw me staying dry. Suddenly it was looking like a pretty sensible purchase.

Shirley Torres

It has been reliable for me up to now.

I wanted something I wouldn't have to replace right away, and so far this umbrella has been a good choice. Getting into the car is much easier when I can fold the canopy using the button. It has been reliable for me up to now. I will come back and change this if it doesn't last, but if this review is still here unchanged then it has continued lasting and I can recommend it.

Caitlyn Howell

It arrived as expected and has worked fine.

It arrived as expected and has worked fine. I find the sleeve useful for keeping the folded umbrella *contained* in my bag rather than loose. The canopy responds quickly to the button, which is handy too. Seems nicely thought out and I'd have no hesitation recommending it.

Hector Richards

This is my second one of these umbrellas.

This is my second one of these umbrellas. The new one lives in the car and the older one stays in the garage for trips up the driveway to the mailbox or wheeling the big trash can out in the rain.I really appreciate having the button to open it and collapse the canopy. It makes loading groceries less of a juggling act. I hold it over me while moving things from the cart. Getting into the car afterwards is the part I appreciate most. I sit down, pull the door almost closed, then press the button before bringing the umbrella inside. The canopy comes in, but you still need to shorten the telescoping pole with a firm push yourself. That part isn't automatic. For the drive home it goes in the passenger footwell. Once home I open it in the garage to dry properly before packing it away. I don't want to leave a wet umbrella bundled up in the car. The gray looks really nice too!

Arthur Bradshaw

This has met those needs and folds to a useful size.

Having both shoulders under cover was the main thing for me, with some protection farther down when the rain isn't coming sideways. I also wanted a button to open it and something that felt solid in a breeze. This has met those needs and folds to a useful size. There is a little more weight than I'd ideally carry, but for the coverage and sturdiness I am quite happy with that compromise.

Donald Ramos

It also folds down for carrying, which is handy when the rain stops.

I originally chose this for the children, but it has ended up being the one I take myself. It is quick to put up and a sensible size-- that matters more to me than having an enormous canopy. I can hold it comfortably in one hand and get moving rather than stand there wrestling with an umbrella while getting wet. There is enough cover for me without a great long thing to manoeuvre into the car.It also folds down for carrying, which is handy when the rain stops. For the children, the opening button is much simpler than fiddling with a little metal catch on a pole. I still help with packing it away, since closing the canopy with the button isn't the whole job; the shaft has to be compressed manually afterwards. That is worth explaining to them first. For our use it has been a very practical umbrella.

Janet Cole

For a while I couldn't justify paying this much for an umbrella.

For a while I couldn't justify paying this much for an umbrella. I looked at cheaper ones, but they never seemed that substantial, so I kept coming back to this.It was a relief to finally try it and WOW! Having compared a couple of cheaper sun umbrellas, I understand the difference now. The handle sits firmly in my hand, the canopy gives a nice patch of shade, and the button opening is very smooth.I'm glad I stopped trying to save on it. Couldn't be more satisfied with the umbrella itself (the price still makes me wince a little...).

Tony Cline

She calls it her "little patch of shade".

My wife takes this out constantly because the sun here in the tropics is fierce. She calls it her "little patch of shade". I've tried it myself and the difference from standing in direct sun is obvious straight away. Gray was definitely the right choice for her!She likes the look of it and didn't want a different colour. She's comfortable with this one and reaches for it without thinking.
