So pleased with the beige one I ordered.

So pleased with the beige one I ordered. It looks smart and the oval loop handle has a nice finish, comfortable to hold as well. The whole umbrella looks like it cost more than it did and feels solid when open. Its a practical thing but still nice to look at. Happy with my choice.

This feels reassuringly sturdy.

I wasn't looking to spend a fortune just to avoid replacing another umbrella straight away. This feels reassuringly sturdy. Only taken it out a few times, and nothing particularly windy yet. The button works easily and there's a decent amount of cover when it's up. So far I'm glad I chose it.

Added this to my photography props and it's been a nice one to have.

Added this to my photography props and it's been a nice one to have. The little girls enjoy "posing" with an umbrella, and the grown-up ladies seem more relaxed when their hands have something to do rather than just hanging there. It's quite a simple style, which actually works well for the pictures I take. Nothing fussy to distract from the person in the shot. I'll try to add a photo from one of the sessions so you can see the effect. Very pretty for what I paid! I'd happily get another if I needed it.

haven't had any real wind to judge it by.

it's about what i had in mind. the blue looks a little different from the photo, nothing that spoils it for me. i've used it for shade as well as rain and it's been good for both. haven't had any real wind to judge it by. feels like a decent, solid umbrella overall and i'd be happy buying another.

I'm very happy with this umbrella.

I'm very happy with this umbrella. It was for my five year old, who had wanted her own umbrella for ages. I let her open the parcel and she was so excited to see it. She keeps wanting to put it up and down, several times a day if I let her, and so far everything still feels nicely made. We've had it out in the rain twice now and she stayed dry both times. There is enough cover for her without her feeling lost underneath it. It has made her very happy, which makes me happy too.

Living in the desert, I use an umbrella for shade a lot.

Living in the desert, I use an umbrella for shade a lot. This is nicer to carry than my old rain umbrella, and being under the canopy feels much more comfortable than standing in direct sun. It even gives the dogs a little shade when they stay close. I can be out longer without relying just on a hat.The price is good too. A surprisingly useful thing to have around here, not just something for the occasional rainy day.

My wife has been happy carrying hers, which helped me decide.

My wife has been happy carrying hers, which helped me decide. After about fifteen years with my old umbrella, this is a welcome replacement. Two things worth remembering-the button folds the canopy, not the whole shaft (that needs pushing down), and leave yourself room when opening it. Obvious once you've done it, I suppose, but useful to know.

Not used every day, but when it is needed this has me ready...

Hi,Well rain is not exactly common round here but Ive wanted a decent umbrella for ages. Kept wondering if it was silly buying one that might sit around, then decided to do it anyway. Turns out when the weather dose suddenly change I am much happier knowing its there. I don't have to be surprised and soaked every time the sky gets ideas. Not used every day, but when it is needed this has me ready...

Not the tiniest umbrella when packed away, which is worth knowing.

I'm still within my first year of using this, so I can't comment on years of wear. Folded, it feels more substantial than I expected for a compact umbrella, though carrying it hasn't been a problem. Once up, the canopy gives a decent amount of cover. I've used it in everyday rain but haven't tried it in really miserable wind-driven weather ... yet. There is some movement when a breeze catches it, without feeling as though it will be pulled straight out of my hand. Not the tiniest umbrella when packed away, which is worth knowing. Overall it has done what I needed so far.

Marie James

So far it has been a handy umbrella for us.

We've had this a few weeks and the children have each tried it a couple of times. They're three and five, so I still help with carrying it and putting it away, but they both quickly worked out the opening button. The plain black suits either of them, and me, which makes it easier to share rather than having a design only one child wants. There's plenty of coverage for a small child; it isn't a tiny children's umbrella. I do have to remind them not to hide their faces behind it, because they can't see through the fabric. Once the canopy is folded I push the shaft in for them. I've used it myself as well and found the size useful. Four stars for now simply because we've not had enough rainy outings to know how it will wear over time. So far it has been a handy umbrella for us.

The loop handle is a comfortable size to hold

More of a middle size to me, not one of those tiny folding ones. Goes in my shoulder bag or rucksack with a little sticking out. Spent ages looking before finding it, Good cover and has coped well on breezy days so far.The loop handle is a comfortable size to hold

Otherwise, a good umbrella.

I wanted something less flimsy for the walk to work after too many umbrellas turning over in the wind. This has been fine so far, and there's room for a friend to squeeze under beside me. It is still a bit awkward getting it out of the way when I climb into the car. (Bigger folded than my old little one.) I think I just need to change my routine a little. Otherwise, a good umbrella.

Love how this umbrella pops open (!

Love how this umbrella pops open (!) and the mechanism feels sturdy (the button does need a firm press).Have used it in rain and some wind and it has done well. Packing it away is the part I'm less keen on. The fabric needs rolling quite neatly to get it into the sleeve, and I would prefer a little more room there. It isn't a huge umbrella but there is still enough material that I have to smooth and twist it to get it all tucked in.

Kaitlyn Hatfield

It has such a nice simple look, and I like the oval loop handle.

Even prettier in person! It has such a nice simple look, and I like the oval loop handle. Enough room underneath for one person (me!). It feels light to carry too. I'm delighted with it. A lovely choice for anyone who likes an umbrella that's useful and pretty.

Randall Keith

Quite a presence for a folding umbrella!

Quite a presence for a folding umbrella! Not some flimsy little thing you forget is in your hand. But seriously I like it, just three things to consider:It folds shorter but is still not tiny, so check the bag you expect to put it in.The loop handle isn't an open hook, don't expect to hang it over every door knob.when it's wet on the train, keep it away from your leg unless you want a damp patch, water has to go somewhere.Let it dry before packing away.Hope that's useful.OH and you do notice the weight after holding it a while in a breeze.Still a keeper, the cover is worth it.

Katrina Kelley

They LOVE having their own.

Picked up two black umbrellas for my kids, ages 3 & 5. They LOVE having their own. The canopy gives them good cover when it's pouring. Both feel solid and nicely put together. I help with opening and packing them away, especially pushing the shafts back down after the canopies close.

Danny Ingram

Very happy that it gives me the coverage I wanted.

Needed cover for my backpack as well as myself while walking around university. I carry electronics in it, so rain getting into the bag isn't an option. Used the umbrella recently and it kept everything dry, including the backpack. Very happy that it gives me the coverage I wanted.

Mitchell Fry

Overall, a good umbrella.

The umbrella is smart looking and has done what I needed it to do. There is a decent amount of room underneath, the grip is comfortable, and it is not tiring to carry. The button operation is straightforward: the canopy opens and closes, then I push the telescoping section down to pack it away. The flexible ribs give it a substantial feel, and it has behaved well in the wind I've encountered. I am not volunteering to test it in a serious storm, though. My only reservation is how the oval handle fits into my bag. It is a useful shape to hold, but the closed loop takes up more room than I expected when everything is packed. That is a storage annoyance rather than a problem with its performance. Overall, a good umbrella.

)

I ordered eight blue umbrellas for my wedding party (these are taking the place of bouquets). I was so excited when I opened one, the blue is gorgeous and the whole thing feels really well made. Took a picture straight away to send to my bridesmaids, who are now just as keen as I am to carry them on the day. They each come with a sleeve, so I can keep them covered and clean until we need them. I'm delighted with the look of them and definitely glad I remembered to get one for myself too ;)

Faith Mays

- The button operation has been good.

I wanted a better everyday umbrella after getting fed up with the flimsy ones from the university shop. I don't need something enormous, just something that feels reasonably well made and isn't a pain to take along to classes. The blue is nice too, not the main reason for buying it but a bonus. For occasional showers and the usual walk across campus, this has done what I wanted. A few things worth pointing out though: - Folded up it takes little room compared with what you get when it opens. That doesn't mean it will cover you plus a stuffed backpack. I'm a student and tend to carry too much, so I still have to think about where the bag is sticking out. A small bag is much easier to keep underneath. - In heavier rain, there are limits to what a compact umbrella covers. My lower legs aren't sheltered just because my head is dry, especially with rain coming sideways. For normal rain the canopy has kept me dry, which is really what I wanted this for anyway. - The button operation has been good. Opening is quick, and another press folds the canopy down. You do still have to shorten the telescoping part manually before putting it away; I hadn't really thought about that beforehand, but it is straightforward once you do it. - The oval loop handle was unfamiliar at first. I spent longer than necessary working out how I liked to hold it (probably testing things more than most people would :P). After a couple of uses it stopped feeling different. It gives me a secure grip without having to squeeze hard, and I've had no trouble with it.

Good amount of shelter in the rain, however, anyone commuting by bus or train should notice the folded length. It folds down, which helps, but it's still a fairly substantial bundle rather than a tiny one. On a crowded journey I have to be mindful of where I tuck it so it doesn't get in someone else's space. A useful umbrella, just worth thinking about if your commute is cramped.

For the shower decorations and a bit of shade they are lovely!

I ordered three for the baby shower I'm putting together for my daughter. They feel nicely made and open smoothly, with a neat rounded shape when up. The handles are oval loops rather than the usual curved hook. The shape and the pink color were what caught my eye in the first place. In person the pink is prettier than I expected from the photo. One star off because I had pictured more coverage for standing around in the rain together. For the shower decorations and a bit of shade they are lovely!

Robin Murillo

I was delighted to have one of these again.

I was delighted to have one of these again. The previous umbrella had a hard life (I think my daughter deserves some of the credit for that, rather than the umbrella). Replacing it was definitely worthwhile. People often say how nice it looks, and I genuinely enjoy taking it out when the weather turns wet.

Here in LA our winter rain gives an umbrella plenty to do.

Here in LA our winter rain gives an umbrella plenty to do. I like the way this looks from underneath, and the canopy gives me a comfortable amount of cover. The fabric and frame both feel well made, so I'm expecting it to last. It feels worth what I paid and I can see it getting me through plenty of wet winter days.

Sandy Turner

Haven Compact Umbrella - Gray.

Haven Compact Umbrella - Gray. The frame feels solid and the ribs have enough give that it hasn't felt rigid or awkward in a breeze. It is still comfortable to carry, which matters to me. The canopy gives good cover around my shoulders without being a huge thing to manoeuvre past people on the pavement. Being able to pop it open with the button is so handy!! A really good umbrella.

Sierra Fitzgerald

A good product that I would recommend.

Came in good condition and looks just as described. The inside is black, and the fabric gives a comfortable patch of shade. There is a cloth sleeve to slip it into when it is folded. It is fairly easy to carry and the construction seems good for something compact. I bought it mainly to use in the sun, so I cannot say much about its performance in wet or windy weather yet. A good product that I would recommend.

People seem surprised by how much cover this gives once it's opened.

People seem surprised by how much cover this gives once it's opened. It isn't an enormous golf umbrella, but for something I can put away in a bag it does a very good job. My main quibble is getting my thumb onto the button quickly. The place I naturally grip the handle isn't quite where I need it to be to press it, so I sometimes end up moving my hand around while it's already raining. Once pressed, it opens straight away. I also had to learn that pressing it again collapses the canopy, not the whole length of the umbrella. You still compress the telescoping section yourself before packing it away. That's normal, just another step when you're trying to get indoors and put everything down. Wrapping the fabric neatly also makes getting it into the sleeve much easier. I haven't used it for shade, so can't really comment on that side of things. For keeping the rain off on an ordinary wet, breezy day, though, it's been very good. Four stars because handling it isn't quite effortless for me.

Haley Sexton

Nice to have something useful that still looked good on the day.

Rain was looking likely for my wedding so I ordered three, one for me and two for my bridesmaids. The blue fitted right in with our wedding colours (and looked great in the photos). Anyway, we actually needed them, and they kept us dry. Nice to have something useful that still looked good on the day.

Christopher Gaines

To be honest, golf had nothing to do with this purchase.

To be honest, golf had nothing to do with this purchase. I don't play.I'm six feet tall and just tired of umbrellas that leave my shoulders wet. This gives me decent coverage without carrying something enormous. Obviously it can't do much about puddles around my shoes, but that's not the umbrella's fault. It packs down nicely too. Dry shoulders and something I can actually carry, isn't that enough??

Garrett Lester

The umbrella itself feels good quality also, not only nice to look at.

This was a present for my boyfriend, he likes things with an interesting look. Was a good gift!Looks neat folded and goes into his bag, so it isn't something that just stays at home. The umbrella itself feels good quality also, not only nice to look at.However, i am less keen on carrying extra things through an airport... keeping track of an umbrella at every gate is not so much fun (probably not very suprising).

Mary Patterson

Quite an umbrella!!

Quite an umbrella!! Holding off on a fifth star until it's seen more wet and windy days. The ribs look finer than I expected, though they've been fine so far. There's enough cover for someone standing close beside me. Opening it by button is handy with something in your other hand. The same button pulls the canopy shut too, but I still use both hands to press the shaft back down before putting it away.

Leah Gallegos

Working in a windy city has made me fairly cynical about umbrellas.

Working in a windy city has made me fairly cynical about umbrellas. I've got through plenty, but this one feels much more substantial than most I've carried. The frame seems to have some give rather than feeling brittle. I chose it for the appearance originally, so finding it well built was a nice bonus. Having a button to open it is useful too. I'm glad I didn't pay extra just for a pretty umbrella and miss out on that convenience.

Ralph Hayden

Either way I am satisfied with it for rain.

For the amount of rain we get in Seattle this has been a good umbrella. Water stays outside instead of gradually coming through, and it folds down to a manageable size. The part I am less convinced about is how much the extra ribs help when it gets windy. It feels solid when open, but I still have to hang on and turn it toward the gusts, much as I would with an ordinary compact umbrella. Maybe the flexibility is more about letting the frame give rather than making it feel completely steady. Either way I am satisfied with it for rain. I just would not buy it thinking a folding umbrella is going to make a windy day effortless.

Kristy Coffey

The sleeve is the part I appreciate most.

The sleeve is the part I appreciate most. it's usually a struggle to get an umbrella wrapped neatly after it's been used. With this one I can fold it back up and slip it away without too much fuss. The whole thing is convenient for keeping my travel bag a bit more organized.

Shawna Wagner

Tasteful.

Tasteful. A word I apparently use too much, according to the family, who have opinions on everything I bring home. With rain being our usual weather I thought I could at least have an umbrella I liked looking at. Then came the important question: would I look as though I was trying terribly hard? :) Hard to tell from a photograph. My wife wasn't convinced we needed it, but I went ahead. Now she reaches for it before I do! I like the shape when open, and the handle has character without making a production out of things. It is also a perfectly useful umbrella, which shouldn't get lost in all this discussion of appearances. Dry, reasonably presentable, and still arguing over who owns it. A household triumph!

Kaylee Alexander

Number three for me now.

Number three for me now. One was left in a cab after serving me very well in Puerto Rico's downpours. The next disappeared somewhere along my daily public transport commute, which is a shame because it handled the changeable weather well. Fingers crossed I hang onto this one longer. If not, at least I know which umbrella I'll be buying again!

Carolyn Mccarthy

Had one of these before and was pleased to be able to get another.

Had one of these before and was pleased to be able to get another. It has been such a useful umbrella that I didn't feel like experimenting with something different. I chose pink because I like having a color that stands out a little on a dull, wet evening. The canopy covers me well and I can tilt it towards the rain when it blows at an angle. The automatic opening is particularly handy when the weather suddenly changes. I also appreciate having a sleeve to put it into afterwards; I keep that in my bag so it doesn't get misplaced. It all feels thoughtfully made, and I'm as happy with this one as I was with the first.

Whitney Pugh

I actually enjoy having a reason to take it out when it rains.

After losing my old umbrella to the wind I was after something a bit sturdier.I didn't want a dull looking one either and this caught my eye. I actually enjoy having a reason to take it out when it rains. :)It feels solid and the open size is just right for me or two standing close!

Colin Schaefer

The extra weight is noticeable though.

I needed more coverage after getting soaked under a smaller umbrella, and this one does give me that. The extra weight is noticeable though. I suppose that is part of having something more substantial. It isn't one I'll carry on every trip, only when rain looks likely. Useful to have, but not the lightest thing in my bag.

Jeanette Bell

I tried it in the rain yesterday and stayed dry.

The folded size was the main attraction for me. It fits in my larger bag and doesn't take up much space in the car. There's enough canopy for me, though I wouldn't call it a big sharing umbrella.I tried it in the rain yesterday and stayed dry. A press of the button has it ready straight away. Another press gathers the canopy, then you push the telescoping part back in by hand. Nothing difficult about that. The sleeve is useful for storing it. For the money it feels solid enough and I have nothing to grumble about.

Loretta Barajas

I like this one more now I've had a go with it.

I bought this for my fiance and was still waiting on the umbrella I'd picked for myself. I like this one more now I've had a go with it. Kept it at four stars as I haven't used it a lot. If I was buying again, I probably would've picked this one for me instead.

Katrina Freeman

Thanks for a lovely umbrella!

Absolutely delighted! It arrived quickly and was neatly packed, so that was a good start. Taking it out and putting it up reminded me of an umbrella I had as a kid!! There is plenty of room underneath, more than I expected looking at it folded. A press opens it, another folds the canopy, then I push the stem in to pack it away. I've only tried it indoors so far, but rain is due over the next few days. Looking forward to getting some use out of it. Thanks for a lovely umbrella!

Kerry Farmer

Solid umbrella and handy to open with one press.

Solid umbrella and handy to open with one press. The closing took me a moment to understand though. The button collapses the canopy, not the entire umbrella, so I have to press the shaft in afterwards. It works fine that way, but I had pictured it all pulling itself back in. A small disappointment rather than a problem.

Diane Stokes

The black fabric looks nice and the frame feels substantial.

The black fabric looks nice and the frame feels substantial. Smart enough for work as well. I wasn't sure about the oval handle at first but I like holding it now. - THE BUTTON COLLAPSES THE CANOPY, NOT THE WHOLE SHAFT, SO YOU DO PUSH THAT PART DOWN BY HAND. A LITTLE FIDDLY WITH YOUR HANDS FULL, BUT ONCE I GOT USED TO IT, NO PROBLEM.

Alejandro Bruce

No trouble staying dry in the rain.

Good quality, though a bit weightier in the hand than I had expected from a folding umbrella. I notice it after holding it up for a while, but the cover is worth that. No trouble staying dry in the rain. Glad to have something useful as a keepsake of my time away.

Dawn Lam

Just the umbrella we needed.

Just the umbrella we needed. The blue looks good in person. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just something my 7 year old daughter could manage without calling me over every time. She loves this one. She can press the button to open it and fold the canopy down, then pushes the shaft in herself. We have four different umbrellas and this is the one she reaches for because she doesn't need my help. Only one rainy outing so far, so I can't speak for months of use. We stood in line for about half an hour and she came away dry. No complaints about this purchase.

Donna Huerta

the gray on this one looks *good*.

Finding an umbrella I actually like carrying shouldn't be so difficult. As a guy, I don't want flowers and decorations all over it.But yes... the gray on this one looks *good*. Very understated, and the way the canopy snaps shut with a press is pretty slick. One thing, though - folded, it's a bit bulkier than I'd pictured. I keep mine clear of the heavier stuff in the car rather than burying it under everything. It still deserves a little care, but I'm happy with it overall.

Amy Mora

Even in Afghanistan, carrying an umbrella beats being drenched.

Even in Afghanistan, carrying an umbrella beats being drenched. This one has been just right for that, and I picked pink to go with the rest of my things here. No problems with it so far -- easy to take along, folds away neatly, and very useful when the weather decides to turn wet.

Noah Summers

two years of being dragged around and this umbrella is still with me.

two years of being dragged around and this umbrella is still with me. it's been from europe to canada and new england, and seen more wet weather than i care to count. small enough for my handbag, which is probably why i actually remember to take it. i've been impressed by how it handles the blustery days too!! the fabric is starting to look well used but it keeps doing what i need. would happily buy another when this one finally needs retiring.
