My two boys are not gentle with their things, umbrellas included.
My two boys are not gentle with their things, umbrellas included. I've been through quite a few with them, so I wanted something that felt a bit more substantial. The ribs in these seem nicely supported. I normally hesitate to let them take anything decent to school, but it was pouring so they took these along. Both came home in one piece and the canopies have been keeping them dry. They do need a little help pushing the telescoping part back in after the button closes the fabric. Not quite as effortless for them as opening it, but I can live with that. With the way my boys treat things, still working and no leaks.

Seems solid enough for normal windy rain too.
Nothing fancy to report, it keeps the rain off like it should. The loop handle feels comfortable to hold. I can keep my shoulders and the bag at my side covered if I position it right. Won't go in my small purse, but it's not a hassle to carry separately. Seems solid enough for normal windy rain too. Happy with it, just don't expect a tiny pocket sized umbrella.
Olivia Figueroa
That makes a difference when there are people coming towards me.
The handle sits securely in my hand and the canopy gives me good coverage. I can hold it comfortably above my head rather than peering out from under the edge all the time! That makes a difference when there are people coming towards me. I still have to watch where I'm walking, of course, but it feels very comfortable to carry and use.
Fred Taylor
Very pleased with it so far.
Such a lovely looking umbrella, I'm actually looking forward to some rain so I can take it out. I've opened and closed it at home and everything feels nicely made, which is really encouraging. Very pleased with it so far. I'll add more once I've had the chance to use it outside!

This has been a nice choice for my daughter in kindergarten.
This has been a nice choice for my daughter in kindergarten. She can manage the button herself and the sleeve is handy once it's dry. We have only needed it a couple of times, so how long it'll last is still to be seen. For our school walks the size works well, and she likes having her own umbrella.
Chad Porter
Having a button to fold the canopy is a nice touch.
Having a button to fold the canopy is a nice touch. Getting the umbrella back to its shortest length takes more of a push, though, since you compress the telescoping part yourself. That bit is not quite effortless for me. Still, I enjoy using it - apparently I have a "thing" for umbrellas.
Brittany Turner
The frame has handled windy rain well for me.
Smart enough for work and not awkward to carry, but it feels considerably sturdier than the little umbrellas I used before. The frame has handled windy rain well for me. Gray also looks right with my blue, brown and black suits (I do actually consider these things when buying an umbrella). It kept me dry and was becoming something I took everywhere, right up until I managed to leave it on a train one summer day. Rather annoyed with myself about that...

This has been a very good everyday umbrella.
This has been a very good everyday umbrella. Opened up larger than I expected from the folded size - which is mostly a good thing. It feels sturdy, though I still try to face it into the wind rather than let a gust catch underneath. Once it did flip during a nasty shower - I put it back the right way and carried on using it.I carry it to work in NYC through the spring rain. Some coworkers thought spending that much on an umbrella was silly and said I'd soon be buying another one anyway. About three months later it's still with me, still opening properly, still keeping the rain off. They've gone a bit quieter about the price now - and don't seem to mind standing close when we're waiting at the food trucks. A little bulky in my bag, but worth carrying.

Quality seems good on inspection.
Quality seems good on inspection. There is some weight to it, which makes it feel fairly substantial. The open canopy is wider than I had pictured. Button operation is smooth and the fabric looks like it should wear well. Still waiting to try it in actual rain. The green can look quite different from one light to another. Pleased overall, though not the lightest thing to carry.

Didn't expect a great deal for the money, but these have turned out to be useful little umbrellas. Everyone in the family borrows them and they've lasted well, not only on the golf course. One stays with my push cart, another near the back door for taking the dogs out, and I keep one in the car for unexpected rain.
Christian Steele
Wouldn't take it down a packed pavement though.
The canopy gives me lovely coverage, and I can keep a grandchild close beside me too. Wouldn't take it down a packed pavement though. You still have to steer around other umbrellas and this takes up its share of space. When there is room to walk, I think it's wonderful.
Clinton Howe
Pretty umbrella and it does what I need.
Pretty umbrella and it does what I need. The button takes a firm press, though I expect I'll get used to it. I don't find the weight excessive at all, feels much like umbrellas I've had before. Packs down to a manageable size, so overall I'm very happy with it.
Allison Quinn
I love this umbrella, properly love it.
I love this umbrella, properly love it. I'm usually so wary of umbrella ends near people's faces that I spend half the walk holding mine at a silly angle. This one gives me a comfortable amount of room without feeling like I'm steering some enormous thing. The button is a big part of why I like it, I can work it with my gloves still on instead of fumbling about with a little catch. Press to open, press to gather the canopy, then the shaft pushes down by hand. Warm hands and dry clothes, that's all I wanted.Really nice size for me and it folds down neatly too. I haven't had proper windy weather to judge that part and won't pretend I have. The price did make me hesitate, but using it has convinced me. Friends have admired it as well, so it's not just me being obsessed.

For what it cost I think it is a good buy.
After several days of rain I decided I needed a decent umbrella for work at school. This one gives me good coverage without being something enormous to carry around. There is room for a child to stand close beside me too, which helps. I like having an umbrella handy in the classroom as well as in the car and at home.It opens quickly, and pressing the button brings the canopy in again. You still shorten the stem yourself. I wondered whether a folding one would feel a bit flimsy, but this seems quite solid. For what it cost I think it is a good buy. Looking forward to having it ready when the next wet school day comes along!
Russell Mathis
I like the oval loop handle as well.
Mine's the compact telescoping version. It folds to around 40cm and weighs about 390g, so a reasonable size to carry. The canopy is roughly 105cm across once opened. There are 30 flexible ribs underneath, which do feel like they've got some give in them. I like the oval loop handle as well. Can't speak for it in a real storm but for normal rain I've been pleased with mine

an early birthday gift for my five year old and she is so proud of it. we get a lot of rain on the walk to school and our old umbrella was awkward for her. this one is nicer to carry, i help with the button and putting it away but she loves holding her own pink umbrella

Best ones I've used, very sturdy and reliable.
My girlfriend recommended these and now we've got a few at home and work. Living in the city you find out quick which umbrellas are worth carrying. Wind between the buildings makes a normal rainy day hard work when your umbrella turns inside out on you. These have stayed steady for me and I don't spend the whole walk fighting with them. Best ones I've used, very sturdy and reliable.
Kristi Owen
Have used folding ones for years, and this feels like a good buy.
This is my favorite now--I seem to leave umbrellas on buses, in restaurants, anywhere except where I need them. Have used folding ones for years, and this feels like a good buy. I'm tall; it packs into my bag; and when it's open there's enough cover to keep me properly dry!

I carry it daily for shade, though I can't tell you exactly how much sun protection I'm getting. In a breeze I keep a firm grip, it seems more interested in leaving than I am.The carry sleeve is useful, but getting the umbrella back inside takes more tidying than I usually feel like doing.
Alexandra Miranda
A bit of wind was usually all it took.
Here in New York you can pick up a cheap umbrella almost anywhere, but I used to go through them so quickly it didn't feel cheap for long. A bit of wind was usually all it took. I've had this one over a year now and haven't felt the need to replace it. It feels solid, opens without a struggle and has coped with the wet, breezy walks I use it for. I once left it in a shop quite a drive from home and actually went back for it, which tells you how attached I'd become. Normally I'd just have bought another cheap one. An umbrella isn't a very exciting purchase, but having one that works well makes more difference than you might think.

Not a GOLF size umbrella, which is fine by me.
Usually I look at the frame before getting carried away with colors, but the blue on this is nice. Support and compact size BOTH!!!That's what matters walking round the city, not just the look of it. Very intriguing on the folded size / carrying thing... because it actually comes with me instead of staying home. Not a GOLF size umbrella, which is fine by me. For ordinary city rain this does what I'm wanting it to do. Just my opinion....If you want something manageable and still useful in the rain, this is worth a look, enough said

It gets plenty of use from me!
It gets plenty of use from me! Mine is blue, keeps the rain off well and gives a decent spread of cover without taking over my backpack once folded. Nine years of walking to work has made me appreciate arriving with dry shoulders instead of spending the morning damp at my desk. The button opens it and folds the canopy away, which I enjoy. I do wish the whole thing shortened itself too, but pressing the telescoping section down afterwards is just part of putting it away -- not enough to bother me IMO.

What a nice umbrella!
What a nice umbrella! At the amount I paid, even nicer! Beige looks smart, with black underneath, and it doesn't feel like some flimsy little thing. Press the button and up it goes, press again and the canopy comes together. Then you squeeze the telescoping shaft down yourself, that's the last part. About 40 cm folded and 105 cm across when open, so quite a transformation. There are 30 ribs, flexible ones, and the whole thing looks neatly put together. The oval handle is useful as well, not just there for appearance. In short, I thought I was getting a bargain and it actually feels like a proper umbrella! I keep checking it over because for what I spent I expected something much more basic. Would have been pleased with it at a higher price too. Still can't quite get over that part. Recommended, very much.
Yes, an umbrella.

thought it would feel cheap considering the price.
thought it would feel cheap considering the price. When i unpacked it the frame was the first thing that stood out, feels more substantial than i expected. The canopy stitching looks neat and there are a lot of ribs supporting it. all in all it has a solid feel without being awkward to carry around.

Your own bit of tree shade to take along.
Wearing a business suit through a DC summer is no fun. I'm going to make carrying a parasol respectable for businessmen, even if I have to do it alone. This one does the job. The difference in comfort as soon as it's overhead is obvious. Your own bit of tree shade to take along. Smart looking, and it feels solidly made.
Corey Solomon
Nice umbrella but wind still takes some managing.
The umbrella feels very well made and the oval handle is comfortable in my hand. But the canopy is wide enough that you do notice it pulling when the wind gets up. I have to hold it properly and pay attention where I'm pointing it. Nothing has come loose and it feels strong, just isn't something you can hold any old way in a breeze. Nice umbrella but wind still takes some managing.

A successful choice for the club and good value for what we paid.
These were the prizes for our garden club's spring tea hat contest. We opened them to show everyone and walked around with them during the judging. The winners were delighted, and a few other members wanted to know where to get one. A successful choice for the club and good value for what we paid.
Selena Hodge
Everything seems solid so far.
I'd read that it gave a decent amount of cover, but opening it still surprised me; there's more room underneath than the folded size suggests! I haven't actually been out in rain with it yet, so I can only comment on the feel. Everything seems solid so far. A very good first impression!

we're in Juneau, where rain is practically part of everyday life.
we're in Juneau, where rain is practically part of everyday life. My daughters Halloween costume needed something she could carry like a parasol. This umbrella looks pretty with it and actually keeps her dry too, which matters more here than a fancy lace prop would!

We tried several shops and nothing quite suited what she had in mind.
My wife had been looking all over for an umbrella she liked for her godchild. We tried several shops and nothing quite suited what she had in mind.I said hang on let me have a look online, because I've had good luck finding things that way before. Well we found this one and it was just what she wanted, simple and nice looking without being enormous. The little girl was so happy with it, and the huggs we got made the whole search worthwhile. If you are getting nowhere looking around the shops, having a look online is worth a try too.
Jay Mays
Feels like a properly made umbrella.
Feels like a properly made umbrella. The oval handle is comfortable for my average sized hands, although someone with very big hands might find the opening tight. I looked over the canopy for little gaps or holes and found none. Plenty of coverage for just me.
Donna Glass
For me this one gets the basics right.
Paying a little more for an umbrella can feel silly, until you've wrestled with one you don't like. For me this one gets the basics right. A few points, because lists are easier:
- The blue is cheerful without being loud.
- The sleeve is useful for keeping it together in my bag. No elaborate packing operation, although I do smooth the folds first.
- It managed a lovely Seattle weekend (lovely meaning damp, with enough wind to make you regret your hair choices). The canopy flexed but carried on doing its job.
- The button is genuinely convenient when you only have one hand available to open it. Closing the canopy is just as straightforward; shortening the shaft is the manual bit.
- The oval handle feels secure rather than something I'm forever readjusting.
I haven't taken it into wild weather, and I don't particularly want to volunteer for that experiment. Long term durability is still an open question, but the first impressions make the price seem reasonable.

This one looked right, not too fussy and a nice size to carry.
My wife had been looking everywhere for an umbrella to give her godchild. We looked round several shops in New Jersey and Pennsylvania but she couldn't decide on one.I said we should have a look online because I've often found just what we needed that way. This one looked right, not too fussy and a nice size to carry. We were very happy with it when it came and the little girl was delighted with her present. All the smiles and huggs made the looking worthwhile. If you are searching for an umbrella as a gift I would certainly consider this one.
Carol Dixon
The cream white has a cheerful, clean look.
I like the coverage on this and the loop handle is comfortable to hold. The cream white has a cheerful, clean look. I was trying to replace an umbrella I had used for about 15 years, so I am probably a little particular. This is plainer than my old one and doesn't have quite the same character, but it is a good practical replacement and I enjoy using it.
Adriana Bolton
I am very satisfied with how it works and would certainly suggest it!
I ordered this umbrella from outside Italy and the purchase was without any trouble. It's a very nice quality umbrella, the button makes it open and then folds the canopy when pressed again. You still push the telescoping part in yourself, which is fine for me. I am very satisfied with how it works and would certainly suggest it!
Spencer Mendez
It doesn't shorten the whole umbrella all the way into the handle.
These are attractive umbrellas and the construction seems solid. Mine has been dependable in the rain and on breezy days. One point about the mechanism, because it is easy to expect something different from the words automatic close: the button closes the CANOPY. It doesn't shorten the whole umbrella all the way into the handle. After the fabric has folded, you need to compress the telescoping section yourself until it catches. That is what readies it for opening again. I make sure that last step is finished before I put it away, rather than stopping with the pole still extended. That last bit isn't automatic, but it isn't difficult either. Anyways, once you have the routine straight, it is very convenient and I think it is an excellent umbrella.
Connie Hodge
Soo pleased I spent the money on this umbrella.
Soo pleased I spent the money on this umbrella. We get a lot of wind here and my last one was crap, so I wasn't going cheap again. This has held its shape in the windy rain I've had it out in and feels worth what I paid. My friends first had that "you paid how much for an umbrella" face, but once they saw it being used the look changed to "actually that would be pretty handy right now". I dont regret it one bit.
Shelly Mckenzie
What a substantial umbrella!
What a substantial umbrella! It has some weight, the fabric feels good and those many ribs make it look so well supported. Opens out generously, packs down neatly, and the automatic canopy action is wonderful. The loop handle is comfortable too. I'm delighted with the quality, thank you 💚
Jasmine Carpenter
I don't expect any umbrella to cope with absolutely every gust.
The reviews encouraged me to give this a try, and it's served me well for several years. I don't expect any umbrella to cope with absolutely every gust. It handles normal wind well, though I am careful when it really starts blowing. The folded size is easy to fit in my backpack, so I actually have it with me when the rain arrives.
Leslie Torres
That may be helping keep it nice.
Reading some reviews had me a bit worried, but we've had ours for several weeks now and it's holding up fine. We have been quite strict about it: it's for rain, not a toy, no opening it indoors, and he has to carry it properly rather than dragging it around outside. That may be helping keep it nice.
Mallory Watts
Good coverage when open- BIG enough for me!
Good coverage when open- BIG enough for me! Pops open neatly and the oval handle feels comfortable. Staying at four stars because putting it away needs more effort than I expected. Closing the canopy with the button is easy enough, but the telescoping shaft has to be pressed down manually. That last part takes quite a firm push, so anyone wanting a completely effortless close should bear that in mind.
Robin Meyers
Love this umbrella!
Love this umbrella! It covers me and my backpack nicely. My boyfriend can share if we stand close, though not with both bags under it. (At least my books stay dry!) It's coped with the gusts around campus and hasn't been awkward to open or fold away. Comfortable enough to carry to work too. Not heavy in the hand, but not exactly something for a tiny pocket.
Levi Mcbride
The umbrella looks much like the photos and has a solid frame.
The umbrella looks much like the photos and has a solid frame. The pink is lovely, although I hadn't realised how much the black underside would stand out when it is open. I would have preferred a lighter interior to go with it. It works properly and I am keeping it, but the contrast isn't quite my taste.
Tom Gardner
The open size suits me well for walking on my own.
The oval handle is easy to grip and the carabiner loop clips neatly onto my purse handle when I'm not using it. Cream white makes a fresh change on those grey, gloomy afternoons without looking fussy. I live in Louisiana, where afternoon showers are pretty normal, so it has already proved useful for everyday rain. The open size suits me well for walking on my own. I'd recommend it to someone wanting a practical umbrella that also looks nice.

My first one came from an art museum in Boston.
My first one came from an art museum in Boston. i was so fond of it that after leaving it on a commuter train in California, I went straight online and bought another (hooray!). Lovely looking and nicely made, and the blue is easy to spot among everyone else's umbrellas.

It stays in my bag all the time now.
It stays in my bag all the time now. You do notice the weight a little, but I'd rather have it there than be caught out. Feels well put together and hopefully will last me ages. The canopy opens and folds quickly from the button. Plenty of cover considering how neatly it packs away!
Terrance Sellers
I used to think spending over $10 on an umbrella was ridiculous.
I used to think spending over $10 on an umbrella was ridiculous. After my cheap one gave out, I read up on sturdier options and ended up with this. So far it's handled wet, blustery days without a struggle. Spending a little extra made sense, and at 5'3" I appreciate being able to carry it without feeling weighed down!

I received this umbrella as a Christmas present and love it!
I received this umbrella as a Christmas present and love it! Folded it's neat to carry, open it looks smart and elegant. The black is a lovely even colour (yes, I did look closely at the fabric)I've used it in the rain and it kept me dry, with a reassuringly solid feel when held up. Liked it so much after using mine that I bought another black one to give as a present too.

More coverage than I expected from something that folds down.
More coverage than I expected from something that folds down. I always wonder about those huge golf umbrellas -- how are you meant to play golf while hanging on to one? Anyway, this is a much more manageable affair. There are 30 ribs underneath, which looked rather busy when I first opened it. They have a bit of flexibility instead of feeling like stiff little sticks. Seems a sensible way to make it. The green is nice too. My only quibble is the thickness of the bundle when folded; it isn't one of those tiny pocket umbrellas. Still goes in the car easily, so I can live with that.GOOD STUFF!!

We both love blue, so that part of the choice was easy.
I chose this umbrella for my granddaughter in Seattle, where she certainly gets enough rain to need one. We both love blue, so that part of the choice was easy. She gets her taste from her old hippie grandma, or at least that is what I like to think. It reminds me how nice it is to share even little things with her. The umbrella itself feels substantial and opens out wider than I expected from the folded size. The ribs look sturdy and the canopy has a good solid feel, not flimsy at all. I think this will see her through plenty of rainy days, assuming she can remember where she leaves it. Kids and umbrellas, you know :)
