The blue makes this feel like a "cheerful" umbrella even when everything outside is dull and wet. There's a good spread of cover, enough to share if you tuck in together. I especially like the automatic opening AND the button that draws the canopy shut. A lovely useful thing for the price.

She likes having proper coverage without a huge thing to carry.
After hearing my wife complain about tiny umbrellas, I chose this for her as a gift. She likes having proper coverage without a huge thing to carry. It looks smart too and she has found it straightforward to use. Taking the price into account, I think it's a great combination of a useful umbrella and something nice looking.

First impressions were good.
With my wife away visiting family for the week, I apparently decided that the sensible way to spend an evening was researching umbrellas. Some men have more interesting hobbies. My excuse was a recent walk home where my little umbrella left a fair amount of me wet. The alternative in the cupboard was a golf umbrella that felt excessive for taking to work. There had to be something in between.
I hadn't previously given much thought to what an umbrella looked like. Browsing around, I found myself wanting something reasonably understated, not the sort of thing everyone at the office would immediately want to borrow. Beige turned out to suit that quite well.
First impressions were good. It is compact without looking flimsy, the weight is quite manageable, and it goes in my bag in its sleeve. The oval loop at the bottom looks unusual compared with the handles I'm used to, but is comfortable enough to hold. Opening is wonderfully uneventful: press the button and it extends and spreads out. No wrestling with a sliding catch while getting rained on. Not a revolutionary thing, perhaps, but new to my small collection of umbrellas.
It coped with the gusts on the following day without turning inside out. I wouldn't take that as a prediction of what it would do in a serious storm. For my normal walk, though, the cover is a useful improvement over the little one. My trousers aren't magically waterproof now, but I can stand underneath without feeling that half my back is outside.
The beige is quieter than a bright color, which is exactly what I wanted. I've now spent both an evening choosing an umbrella and several paragraphs talking about it. My wife thinks I put rather too much money and thought into something for keeping rain off. Fair point, possibly, but I don't regret it.
UPDATE, A FEW WEEKS ON:
Getting it put away is my one small reservation. The button collapses the canopy, then you manually compress the telescoping section; that's how it's meant to work. It's arranging the folded fabric neatly enough for the sleeve that takes me an extra moment. In a hurry I tend to leave the sleeve off until I'm indoors. Nothing wrong with how it works, just less convenient than I'd hoped, so four stars rather than five. Otherwise it has been a useful middle ground between our two old umbrellas, and I still like its slightly different appearance.

SO GLAD TO HAVE ONE LIKE THIS AGAIN.
SO GLAD TO HAVE ONE LIKE THIS AGAIN.MY OLD UMBRELLA WAS A FAVORITE AND I WANTED SOMETHING SIMILAR WHEN IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE IT. FOUND THIS AND COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. BEEN OUT IN RAIN WITH IT SEVERAL TIMES NOW AND IT HAS KEPT ME DRY EVEN WHEN IT GETS BLOWY. THE CANOPY DOESN'T FLAP ALL OVER THE PLACE. VERY SATISFIED WITH IT.

I would happily recommend this one.
The Haven umbrella gives me a good amount of shelter when it rains, without being an enormous thing to put away afterwards. It seems sturdy enough for regular use; and at this point I consider it money well spent. Mine is green, and I'm pleased with the color too. A nice change!
The push button is straightforward, and the canopy responds promptly both when I open it and when I want it closed. There is still the stem to push down afterwards, but that is simple enough. I've been using this one regularly and have no complaints about the way it works. I'm quite satisfied with it.
Some folding umbrellas can look rather flimsy once they are spread out; this one gives a better impression. The material feels substantial without being stiff, and the flexible ribs make the whole thing seem less delicate than I expected. I appreciate that, especially when a rainy day isn't completely calm.
There is something reassuring about an umbrella that opens neatly and sits comfortably in the hand. Those are ordinary things, certainly; but they're the things I want to be right in an umbrella I use often. So far this has earned its place near the door.
I would happily recommend this one. Practical, easy to use, and worth keeping within reach throughout the year!

The ribs bend a bit in the wind instead of just giving up.
When we had the florist shop he needed an umbrella for making deliveries. The lightweight ones never seemed to last him. This one has been with us for years now and is still getting used, even since we retired a couple of years back. The ribs bend a bit in the wind instead of just giving up. It does the job.

This has been terrific in the rain.
This has been terrific in the rain. Seriously! The surprise for me was how useful that button is when you're getting into a car. Sounds like a small thing? I can stay covered as I sit down, press it to pull the canopy in, and then bring the umbrella inside. You still push the telescoping stem in yourself afterward, but that's straightforward. SO much less wrestling about! I'm sold on this one and am getting another for my wife!
Catherine Acosta
The loop handle is quite reassuring to hold.
Looks really cute and feels sturdier in use than it first appears. The loop handle is quite reassuring to hold. I've had it out in some gusty weather and it has coped fine so far. The flexible ribs look rather slender to me though, so I am still a little cautious about how much wind I ask it to take. Time will tell.
Angel Fields
It looked nice and worked well in the rain.
Only managed two days with this umbrella before somebody walked off with it from the restaurant's hostess stand. I suppose they liked it as much as I did. The restaurant is covering the replacement, so I'll be getting another. It looked nice and worked well in the rain. My one niggle was getting the folds gathered neatly when putting it away, a bit fiddly when you're in a hurry.
Vincent Turner
So far though, it's been a good purchase.
Ordered mine in green. It isn't quite as bright as I thought from the picture, though it still looks nice and gets plenty of use in our Pacific Northwest rain. The button works nicely, just remember it shuts the canopy rather than shrinking the whole thing for you. It does fold down, but isn't one of those tiny umbrellas that disappears in a handbag. I still find myself carrying it about a fair amount (LOL), which I don't really mind. An umbrella always with me, I feel very British!Haven't been out with it in seriously windy weather so I can't report on that yet. So far though, it's been a good purchase.

This umbrella was a lovely exception!
Finding practical things that suit my steampunk tastes is not easy. I often end up changing them myself because everyday designs can be so uninspiring. This umbrella was a lovely exception! The shape of that oval handle has real character to my eye, without getting in the way of using it. Rain stays off and it gives me welcome shade when the sun bothers me. My friends admire it, and now I almost welcome an excuse to take it out. A useful object need not be dull. Thank you for putting some thought into it!
Jose Melton
Weight is the main compromise.
About 390g, so not as light as I'd first planned, but I'm satisfied. I was looking at smaller umbrellas and ended up choosing this because of the black underside and cream white colour. It's okay; the shade is useful and I like how it looks. Weight is the main compromise.

A happy mother of the bride
I picked the pink umbrella to match the bridesmaids' dresses at my daughter's wedding. We wanted something ready if rain threatened, especially with outdoor photos planned. As it turned out, the weather was beautiful and there was no need to open it. I'm still glad we had it there rather than worrying about the forecast. It won't go to waste, there will be other rainy days.A happy mother of the bride

Very pleased with this umbrella.
Very pleased with this umbrella. Folded down it takes up little space, yet there's plenty of cover once it's open and I've stayed dry underneath it. It feels solid and hasn't flipped over in a light breeze. The button makes opening and folding the canopy straightforward. I like the plain design and dependable feel, nothing complicated about it. Mine came earlier than expected, even with the Christmas post, and looked just as I'd hoped. I would be happy to buy another.
Joyce Haynes
Folded, it sits comfortably in my backpack
The care in the construction is apparent, from the frame to the neatly finished sleeve. Folded, it sits comfortably in my backpack; opened, it provides a very practical amount of cover for one person. I wanted an everyday umbrella with a more substantial feel, and this meets that expectation beautifully.
Charlotte Medina
The ribs were fine and the end wasn't bent over.
I ordered the Cream White one recently, and only afterwards read enough of the reviews to start worrying about what would turn up. When I opened the parcel there was nothing to worry about, it was all in one piece and looked straight. Mine was inside a cardboard box with several layers of fairly stiff paper round it. I would probably still choose bubble wrap myself, but the paper wasn't thin and there was enough of it to stop the umbrella moving about much. It happened to be raining that day so I had a chance to take it out a few times straight away. The ribs were fine and the end wasn't bent over. Opening it was easy and it felt like a proper everyday umbrella, not something flimsy that you are afraid to use. The Cream White is very pretty in person and I enjoyed carrying it more than I expected to. It kept the rain off me without having to keep adjusting where I held it. Size wise I would say it is for one person comfortably. Two could probably manage if they stayed very close together, but I haven't tried that. After all my worrying I am glad I went ahead with it. I had read about a different sort of packaging being used, which wasn't how mine came. I can't say anything about those parcels, only that this one reached me in good shape and has been very nice to use.

I've already had a few nice comments about it, too.
Being pale and living in Florida, I wanted a little shade that I could take along with me! Sunscreen has its place, but I'm not especially fond of the mess, so trying an umbrella for sunshine appealed to me. After using this one, I'm quite taken with it. The Cream White is a gentle, pretty colour, and underneath it is black. I wasn't sure about that contrast at first, as I tend to prefer lighter things, but it looks much nicer in person than I expected. It's quite plain, which suits me, and the oval handle gives it a slightly unusual look without being too much. It feels substantial enough in my hand. Opening is a button press, although I needed a moment to understand closing it: the button brings the canopy in, then I press the shaft down myself. After that first go, it was straightforward. The sleeve is a nice finishing touch, and getting the folded umbrella back inside wasn't the battle I sometimes have with these things. I'm delighted with the whole thing, really! Carrying an umbrella on a sunny day may be slightly whimsical, but that doesn't bother me. I've already had a few nice comments about it, too. I can certainly see myself choosing another colour from Haven later on.

This feels solid & properly put together.
After enough cheap umbrellas I decided to spend more.My co-worker has two like this & has been happy with them for years.I wanted something that felt less flimsy, not another thing to replace straight away. This feels solid & properly put together.I've carried it several times now & haven't regretted the extra money. Sometimes paying a bit more really is worth it!

I've used it for six months and there's nothing wrong with it, which is more than I could say about some cheap ones beforeI'm still not sure if I'm avoiding the worst wind or it handles it better, bit bulky for everyday carrying though, I think another few months will tell me more but so far it seems to be doing well
Jasmin Nixon
It does the ordinary umbrella job nicely.
Mine has only just arrived, so these are first impressions rather than a report on years of service. The blue is attractive, although it looks deeper around the gathered top than across the open fabric. I had to look twice before deciding it was just the way the material was sitting. Once spread out, the colour looks much more even to me. The frame has a substantial feel, without the thin, flimsy sensation I've had from some folding umbrellas. That is reassuring, because the spring certainly doesn't creep into action. Point it away from yourself before pressing the button. I was wearing my glasses when I first tried it, and still instinctively moved my head back. No harm done, just a rather surprised owner. Collapsing the canopy has its own sharp little snap, too. Not exactly a discreet exit if everyone around you is quietly minding their business. The oval loop handle gives me somewhere definite to hold, but I'd prefer a little more room for my hand. The button also needs a proper thumb press; brushing it hopefully doesn't achieve much. Pressing it a second time brings the canopy in, not the entire shaft. You then have to push the telescoping section down by hand before another opening. That is worth understanding before standing there repeatedly pressing the button and looking offended. I first tried gripping the shaft and drawing it down, which wasn't the most comfortable approach for my fingers. Holding the handle securely and using my other hand to press the folded top down works better for me. There's some spring resistance, but it closes with a steady push, and I don't take that to mean anything is wrong. I wouldn't want to reset it against my clothes while the fabric was wet, unless I fancied taking some of the rain indoors with me. Once shut, I straighten the folds and fasten it without worrying about making every rib end perfectly level. The sleeve is there if I want a tidier bundle, though I can see myself leaving it off while the umbrella dries. I'm still getting accustomed to the rather definite movements involved, and a slightly more generous grip would improve it for me (possibly I just have awkward hands). Nevertheless, I like the appearance and the solid feel enough to keep it. It does the ordinary umbrella job nicely. I'll simply remember that opening and putting it away deserve a little attention, rather than treating it as something to fiddle with absent-mindedly.
Laurie Brewer
Useful enough, just not quite right for what I needed.
The compact shape appealed to me, and it does open easily, but the coverage is less than I had pictured. The fabric feels rather thin to me, so I can't say how confident I am about long term use yet. There hasn't been any trouble folding it, which is a plus. My main issue is that with my backpack on, the back of the bag sticks out beyond the canopy. I wanted something for windy rainy days, not just a quick dash outside, and this feels better suited to travelling light. Useful enough, just not quite right for what I needed.
Randy Branch
It is sturdy with a little weight behind it.
There's a decent spread of cover once this umbrella is opened. It is sturdy with a little weight behind it. The oval handle looks really stylish. Plenty of room for me to stand comfortably underneath. We happy with our purchase. Hoping it'll last for a good few years.
Yolanda Carpenter
I would choose it again over a flimsier umbrella.
The construction sets this apart for me: flexible ribs, a substantial feel and straightforward operation. I would choose it again over a flimsier umbrella. One observation, compact is a relative word and it still occupies some space in a bag. That is a compromise I am happy with for the coverage. I also appreciate the give in the frame when wind gets underneath, rather than it feeling completely rigid.
Fred Young
This is pretty much what I was after.
This is pretty much what I was after. There is a little more weight to it than some folding umbrellas, but I like that it doesn't feel flimsy in my hand. I tend to leave it in the car for shopping and those short walks when the rain catches you, rather than carry it around all day in a small bag. It does fit in my backpack, though it takes a bit of space, so I would keep that in mind if you travel light. Opened up, the cover is quite enough for me. The button opens it and also pulls the canopy closed, which is convenient. You still have to compress the telescoping shaft yourself to pack it away, so I need both hands for that part. That is about the only little thing I can grumble about, and hardly much of a hardship. (Such effort~~)
Laurie Mccann
Mostly used for shade so far, rather than rain.
Mostly used for shade so far, rather than rain. I wanted to shade my son while he's in his sling and still too little for sunblock. Didn't buy it because of the button, but I've come to appreciate it: I can raise it or fold the canopy with one hand while holding the baby. The shaft still pushes in manually afterwards. Having that first part done for me makes things much less of a juggling act.
Jacqueline Roy
Arrived right when expected, all clean and new.
I've had this for... about four months now? and it's still in really good shape. Arrived right when expected, all clean and new. It's been great for sunny heat as well as rainy days. I haven't taken it out in serious wind, hail or snow or anything that rough. Honestly I wouldn't want to test it like that, and wouldn't suggest it either. I've seen reviews of similar umbrellas where people were upset about ribs bending in those conditions. ANY umbrella has its limits, that's not something I'd deliberately put one through. Treat it with a little care instead of expecting it to survive everything and I reckon you'll get plenty of use out of it <3
Kristy Escobar
I'd recommend it on what I've seen.
Such a cute umbrella, and the oval loop handle looks nice (although that's also why it loses a star - not the easiest shape for me to grip). And it feels tough, even with my lively three year old wanting to carry it. We've only had light rain to try it in so far, so the real downpour test is still to come. I'd recommend it on what I've seen.
Bob Garrison
It folds down, but I wouldn't call it a tiny travel umbrella.
After getting through too many flimsy umbrellas, I wanted one that felt a bit more substantial. This has been dependable and gives me comfortable coverage alone, with enough room for someone to tuck in close as well. When it's open it feels secure, not like something I'm constantly having to adjust. The button is convenient, and the loop handle is comfortable to grip without squeezing too hard.Mine included a sleeve, which is useful for putting it away after it's dried. I keep it near the door at home or leave it in the car. It folds down, but I wouldn't call it a tiny travel umbrella. If the forecast only hints at rain, it can still feel like a bit much to bring along.
Tricia Mays
On first look, a nice umbrella.
On first look, a nice umbrella. I expected something a little larger from the photos, although the size is fine really. I'm happy with how it works and the general construction. Durability, too early to say; I haven't had it out in rain yet. The canopy material has a funny feel, couldn't tell you what it is, but it seems suitable. For what it cost I'd recommend it. Autumn is here, so I should soon get a chance to test it properly.
Dustin Patrick
This has been a good compromise.
After more than a year of use, mine is still in very good shape. Rain around here often comes with wind, so an umbrella that only covers the top of my head isn't much use to me. I wanted something that would cover my shoulders properly without being a full length umbrella to carry everywhere. This has been a good compromise. I've used it on some blustery walks and it has felt solid rather than getting pushed about at every little gust. You still need a firm grip, though. There is enough canopy for the wind to catch, and I wouldn't hold it loosely just because the ribs are flexible. The only fiddly bit for me is putting it away. The button gathers the canopy in, and I finish shortening the shaft by pressing it down. Getting it tidy enough for the sleeve takes a little patience, especially when I'm in a hurry. Nothing that stops me using it, just something worth knowing. The rest has been excellent, and I'm glad I've kept it.
Jerry Frye
Good as a spare umbrella, which is mostly what I wanted.
Good as a spare umbrella, which is mostly what I wanted. It lives in my backpack/computer bag and doesn't take over the whole thing. It's not tiny enough for every pocket though, unless your idea of a pocket is rather generous. Coverage is fine for me alone, but I wouldn't count on keeping a second adult dry beside me. I also wouldn't pick a compact umbrella as my only option for long, windy walks. Putting it away takes a little arranging--you need the folds fairly neat to slide the sleeve on. Handy to have when the forecast catches you out, rather than something I'd carry everywhere every day.
Darlene Hopkins
There's a good amount of shade without a huge weight to carry.
There's a good amount of shade without a huge weight to carry. Love that! I'm a 39 year old man and after having skin cancer removed, keeping out of direct sun matters a lot to me. All clear now, thankfully. SUNSCREEN STILL MATTERS!!!This is nicely made and simple to put up when I want some shade!
Stacie Davidson
Excellent for what we wanted.
I ought to mention that shade was our main reason for buying this, not keeping rain off. We use it when watching our grandsons soccer games and it has made those sunny afternoons much more comfortable. It's lite enough to hold for the game without feeling awkward, and gives us a nice patch of shade. Excellent for what we wanted.

Five months of use and I still like this umbrella a lot.
Five months of use and I still like this umbrella a lot. Pros: It covers my head and upper body well, and I'm 6'3, so that matters to me. Two people can squeeze underneath for a short walk, though I would call it comfortable for one. The ribs give a little in a gust rather than feeling completely rigid, and it has stayed in good shape through the wet weather I've had. The closed loop gives me something secure to hold. Cons: The folded size is convenient, but it still has some heft when you're carrying it all day and never actually need it.
Reginald Ayers
Very nicely put together.
For something that folds up this small, I was expecting it to feel rather flimsy. It actually feels solid and there's a proper spread to the canopy when it opens, not just a tiny roof over your head. Very nicely put together. Now if we could get some rain I'd have a reason to use it, but it's drought season here, so the sprinkler may have to volunteer

Fits in my student backpack when shut, not a long thing to carry about - opens to a useful sizeThe fabric feels substantial and the frame seems strong, no flimsy feeling hereauto button does the opening and folds up the canopy, then I press the stem down myself, good solid umbrella overall for getting through a wet winter
Ann Mendoza
The little sleeve is useful too.
Never expected to get attached to an umbrella, yet I actually love using this one. I've had enough wrestling with catches and flimsy frames in the past to appreciate something that simply does its job. I live in a supposedly sunny state, but there is plenty of rain, and this has been great for that. We've only had light wind when I've used it, so I'm not making any claims about serious storms. Pressing a button to open it, then pressing again to fold the canopy, makes life much easier. I like that it folds into a manageable package instead of being another long thing to carry. The little sleeve is useful too. It goes in my backpack for school and doesn't take over the whole bag.

[KR] The cloth has an almost tent-like feel, and the umbrella has a bit of heft. I got damp near the edge in heavy rain, possibly from it blowing underneath. However, using the button to fold the canopy before getting into a vehicle is certainly more convenient than doing it all by hand.
Casey Frank
The loop handle makes it simple to hang up, a handy touch.
The umbrella arrived promptly and the canopy looks neatly finished, with a sturdy feel overall. The loop handle makes it simple to hang up, a handy touch. A single button raises it and closes the canopy again. That closing part was new to me. Would happily recommend

New York rain has given me enough reason to appreciate it.
I'm on my third of these, which tells you how useful they've been. One stayed in a cab and another went to somebody else; this one's staying with me. It feels solid opened up but folds to a size I can actually take out at night. I can clip the oval handle onto a belt loop under my coat instead of having another thing in my hands. New York rain has given me enough reason to appreciate it. The closing button is the clever part for me. One press gathers the canopy, then I push the telescoping shaft in to get it ready again. You still do that last part yourself, but it's quick. June is here, rain won't be far behind, and I'm glad to have one again.
Molly Park
So far it's been a very good umbrella.
So far it's been a very good umbrella. A few months of use and nothing to complain about yet. It seems solidly put together and goes into my backpack or a roomy purse without much bother. Two people can share if they stay close, not loads of spare space. we need a few more wet days before I can judge the long term, but I'm happy with it now.
Jonathon Beltran
What a sweet umbrella!
What a sweet umbrella! My niece is 2 1/2 and once it was open she wanted it left that way. It seems well put together and quite solid. I help her with the button and shortening the stem afterwards, but she loves having it over her. Very pretty shape. We haven't taken it out in rain so far, but I expect it will do nicely!
Nancy Carlson
Sturdy umbrella with a strong opening action.
Sturdy umbrella with a strong opening action. My wife finds pushing the shaft back down quite firm work, though the button closes the canopy easily. She may just leave it extended between uses. We have lots of sun in Thailand and space to stand it indoors. Very good quality.
Judith Kim
A nice amount of cover over her.
My daughter is in kindergarten and enjoys having this umbrella for school. She can manage the button herself, while I help shorten the shaft afterwards. The carry sleeve is useful, but it's separate so we'll have to keep track of it. We've only used it a little, so I can't say much about long-term wear yet. A nice amount of cover over her.
Ryan Wheeler
Yesterday I finally used it in rain and it did a good job.
The folded size was what appealed to me, easy to leave in a bag or in the car so I actually have it when needed. There's enough canopy for me, no need for a huge umbrella.Yesterday I finally used it in rain and it did a good job. A press opens it up, another folds the canopy, then I compress the telescoping pole myself. That's straightforward rather than a struggle. Comes with a sleeve to put it in once rolled up.Overall it seems sturdy enough, was inexpensive, and is convenient to keep around. Nothing to complain about.
William Hoffman
Really like this umbrella.
Really like this umbrella. The handle does feel a bit short to me. I'm 5'9" and find myself holding my arm higher than with the others I've used.Don't take that as saying I don't use it, because I do. Haven't come across one I like better yet. The sturdy feel is the BEST part. Very strong.
Ronnie Rhodes
A very convenient size to take along.
A very convenient size to take along. I purchased one for my boss, who does alot of travelling, and she says it sits in her laptop bag without crowding everything else. She let her elderly mother have a look and then I was asked to get another one for her too. Nice not having to lug something huge around just in case it rains. It will fit a roomy purse as well. At this rate I ought to get my own one :-)

There is still a noticeable weight in the hand, just not cumbersome~^^
I wanted a decent size umbrella without having to carry a long one around, and this folds down well for that. The canopy opens out wide enough for me and the closed oval handle is quite comfortable to hold. It's not the open hook kind, which was something I had to get used to at first, but now I like the shape. This is the third one I've bought; I lost my first and came back for the same again because it had suited me. The button makes opening it quick, and it doesn't take up lots of space once folded. Oh, it seems quite manageable to carry? There is still a noticeable weight in the hand, just not cumbersome~^^
Julian Cobb
It's a good feeling.
Those tiny blue umbrellas always look like their owners were hoping the rain wouldn't notice them. Mine actually looks ready for the job! Opened up, it gives me proper cover instead of leaving half of me outside.I caught my reflection in a building and had a laugh at how serious I looked about staying dry. It's a good feeling. The awkward part is waiting at a crossing beside somebody who's getting soaked. There I am, doing the mental maths about whether we could both squeeze underneath, while also hoping I don't have to start a conversation. Fortunately the lights usually rescue me before I've decided!
Alexis Moon
I quite like the look of this one.
I quite like the look of this one. It's a little bulky for a compact but the frame feels solid, and so far the moderately windy days haven't caused me any trouble. A quick shake gets a lot of the water off before I take it inside, so packing it away is less of a nuisance.I went for pink because I wanted something that stands out when I'm walking near traffic. It's certainly not a subtle choice, but subtle wasn't what I wanted. Especially on a gloomy evening, I prefer having a color that is easier to pick out.
