I stayed dry and it felt reassuringly solid in my hand.

Only one outing so far, but it was raining hard with a few gusts, so it got a proper try. I stayed dry and it felt reassuringly solid in my hand. Not that nervous feeling of waiting for an umbrella to turn itself inside out. The size suits me very well, enough cover to be comfortable but not so much that I'm struggling to get past people on the pavement. Opening is easy with the button, and pressing it again gathers the canopy in. I then push the pole down to pack it away, no pinched fingers so far.For moms carrying a baby, I can see this being useful when you're caught in rain, especially having the opening button ready with one hand. It looks very nice too, and I can see where I'm going without tilting it about all the time. A good first experience and I'm glad I bought it. Would happily choose the same one again.

Blustery rain in the city today and this coped better than I expected.

Blustery rain in the city today and this coped better than I expected. After years of using cheap little umbrellas, the difference in how solid it feels is noticeable. Glad I spent a little extra rather than picking another flimsy one. Worth knowing that it isn't the shortest thing when folded, though, and it won't go in my briefcase.

Sara Mcpherson

Can happily recommend this umbrella.

When I'm getting into the car, that button is so handy. The canopy collapses without me reaching out to pull it shut, then I shorten the shaft myself.Wasn't sure whether beige would look right, but it's lovely. It has managed the windy days I've tried it on too. Can happily recommend this umbrella.

Xavier Melton

you do have to put some strength into it.

Plenty of cover when it's up, yet it folds to a fairly manageable size. Opening it and folding the canopy shut with the button is very convenient. My one complaint is the push needed to shorten the shaft afterwards...you do have to put some strength into it. Otherwise it feels solid and has done a good job in rain and a bit of wind.

Blake Pennington

It feels properly made and dependable.

I keep replacing these because I leave them places, not because they wear out. Handy in my computer bag when travelling, with enough cover once it's up. It feels properly made and dependable. I especially like the way the flexible ribs support the canopy without making it awkward to fold away.

Glenn Daniels

A good everyday umbrella.

When my daughter carries this to school she gets plenty of admiring comments. It looks smart as well as being useful. There is enough cover for her without dragging a great big umbrella along, and she finds the oval handle nice to hang on to. A good everyday umbrella.

Rain rarely seems to arrive without some wind with it.

I've lived in NYC for five years and an umbrella gets a fair bit of use here. Rain rarely seems to arrive without some wind with it. I had got tired of buying the very cheap folding ones, so spending more on this felt worth trying. Glad I did. It isn't the smallest thing once folded, and if you want something that disappears in a coat pocket this probably isn't it. But I'd rather carry a bit more umbrella than constantly feel like I have to nurse it through a gust. The frame feels secure, the canopy gives me decent coverage, and it hasn't made windy walks feel like a wrestling match. I am not especially careful with umbrellas either, they get tossed into my bag and carried around with everything else. This feels built for that sort of everyday treatment. For me the extra bulk is an easy trade for feeling properly covered.

Took this along to golf tournaments and it has been really handy!

Took this along to golf tournaments and it has been really handy! When I'm waiting by the ropes for the players to come through, I can hold it up and get a bit of shade instead of standing in the sun. It's also easy enough to carry while moving between holes, even on the hills. For someone who follows the golf on foot, having an umbrella that isn't a nuisance to carry makes a difference.

Bryce Hoover

Standing under this is such a relief when the sun is out!

Standing under this is such a relief when the sun is out! The shade is noticeably more comfortable than being directly in it. It weighs a little more than the flimsy umbrellas I'm used to, but I'm happy to carry it for that reason. Closing needs a firm push to shorten the shaft after the button has drawn the canopy together- not difficult, just more effort than I expected. Those are small things though, and I'd readily recommend it to anyone wanting a useful sun umbrella.

Joyce Weeks

No real complaint about how it works.

I have carried this umbrella around enough now to know the folded size isn't quite my preference. In short, I wanted something smaller. It takes up more space than I like when I am not using it, which is most of the time I am carrying an umbrella. That is annoying, even though the actual coverage is good. The materials feel solid and it opens with no fuss. I have found a place for it in my usual bag, so carrying it is sorted out now, and using it on rainy days has been straightforward. No real complaint about how it works. Just not the size I would choose again.

Theodore Vasquez

My younger boy can sit close beside me and share a little shade too.

Watching my son's baseball games is much nicer with this over me. Sitting out in the sun, I notice straight away how much more comfortable the shade feels. It has a solid feel without being one of those enormous umbrellas that gets in everybody's way. My younger boy can sit close beside me and share a little shade too. For me the size is just right. I've noticed more people bringing umbrellas for the sun lately, and this one still gets comments when I have it out.

Chris Novak

A very useful umbrella.

A very useful umbrella. Six months on it is still looking tidy.I haven't had it out when it's really windy so can't comment on that, but it seems solid. Has kept the rain off while watching my son's soccer and going between business appointments around Sydney. Not a big family umbrella, though the coverage is good for me and it is much easier to carry about.

Brent Fritz

The sleeve is a good fit once it's packed up.

I thought the construction would feel a bit heavier, I suppose, though it seems a step up from the usual shop umbrella. It's been quite steady in the wind I've used it in, better than the ordinary ones I've had. The button action is good too, but "close" means it gathers the canopy, not that the whole thing shrinks itself. You still push the telescoping section in yourself. The sleeve is a good fit once it's packed up.

Desiree Vance

it was packed neatly and arrived looking lovely.

Left it rather late ordering an umbrella for my wife and it turned up sooner than I thought. it was packed neatly and arrived looking lovely. She likes the simple finish and it's been working well (certainly getting plenty of use with this wet April in Indiana!

Steven Cortez

For what I paid, I'm very happy with this little umbrella.

For what I paid, I'm very happy with this little umbrella. The handle feels fairly light, but it's been fine for normal rain round here (I live near Lake Michigan, so I still use some common sense in the wind). I keep an eye on it getting into the car too, no point trapping it in the door. Also probably not something to go jousting with. Handy everyday umbrella. (still using it after 2 years)

Shelly Holder

My one small gripe is the oval loop handle.

These have become the umbrellas I keep coming back to. I've had quite a few over the years and most have gone missing rather than worn out on me.The coverage is generous for something I can fold up and carry, and another person can tuck in close if needed. I wouldn't call it a roomy two person umbrella, but for me it is just right. The frame has stood up well to the windy rain I've encountered, especially when I'm sensible about which way I hold it. The button that pulls the canopy shut is a huge help when getting into a cab or through a doorway. You can get the wet part out of the way quickly, then push the shaft down once you're inside.I haven't had a reason to look elsewhere because these have been dependable in normal use. My one small gripe is the oval loop handle. Depending on where I put my fingers, it doesn't sit quite the way I'm used to in my hand. Shifting my grip sorts that out, so it's hardly a deal breaker. I'd much rather make that tiny adjustment than give up the convenience.

Xavier Moyer

Otherwise its given good cover in rain too.

Its useful for shade when you're standing in the sun, much nicer than being out in it. Has a bit of weight to it and the closed loop doesnt sit over my arm like a hook would, which I'd prefer for carrying. Otherwise its given good cover in rain too. A good option if you spend alot of time outside.

William Bishop

Absolutely lovely!

Absolutely lovely! Now I find myself hoping for raining days, just for another chance to carry it. The opening action has quite a kick, so keep a firm grip and give the canopy space rather than aiming it towards someone. The fabric, ribs and handle all seem substantial, although I'd only had a little rain to try it in at first, so I wasn't ready to make big claims about how long it would last. The included sleeve is nice, though I tend to lose those within days, so it wasn't a big selling point for me. I'd happily give an umbrella like this as a present. Update: Coming up on two years now, and I'm still delighted with it. It looks as good to me as it did when it arrived. The button opening is still brisk, and the fabric and frame are holding up nicely. It's been out in plenty of heavy rain since those first few showers, without giving me any trouble. Money well spent!

Chris Bryan

It does seem solid though, with a nicely put together mechanism.

Was hoping this would replace an old favourite, but I'm being pretty particular about the frame. I wanted something specifically described as all fibreglass, and couldn't be sure this was that match. It does seem solid though, with a nicely put together mechanism. Had an all fibreglass umbrella once, can't remember where from, and it was brilliant. My boss borrowed it and somehow it never found its way back. At least that gives me something to bring up now and then (more chances for that than chances to walk in rain).Anyway, the black looks smart and the construction seems respectable. Nothing wrong with using it as an umbrella, just not quite the thing I was hunting for. Could see myself returning to this if I stop trying to replace the exact old one.

Ralph Humphrey

Being able to collapse the canopy with a button is what won me over.

I used to stick to cheap umbrellas, but this has turned out to be a lot more useful than I expected. Being able to collapse the canopy with a button is what won me over. You still have to push the stem in yourself afterwards, but getting the wet top out of the way is so convenient. I actually lost my first one within a couple of weeks and went straight back for another, which says something about how attached I'd got to it.The black is smart without being flashy -- and I like having a sleeve to pack it into. Not the cheapest umbrella I've owned, admittedly, but one of those purchases I'm glad I made.

Kirk Bond

Very happy with it, easily my favourite umbrella so far!

I love how smart the gray fabric looks, even on one of those miserable wet days. It comes with a sleeve that I can actually get it back into, not one of those covers you give up on after the first outing. The best bit for me is the button. With a bag and my daughter to keep track of, not having to wrestle it open is a huge help. It springs open with a press and another press folds the canopy in. You still need to compress the telescoping part yourself afterwards, but that's easy enough. There's a generous amount of cover; my daughter and I have both stayed dry underneath it with her close beside me. The ribs feel sturdy, and it hasn't flipped over in the windy weather we've had either. Very happy with it, easily my favourite umbrella so far!

Tom Delgado

I picked mine up at the museum a couple of years ago.

I picked mine up at the museum a couple of years ago.The beige looks a little warmer in person than it did in the picture, very elegant without being fussy. There's a good amount of space underneath and it doesn't feel heavy to hold. It isn't as compact folded as the really tiny ones. I also learned to look before pulling it out after catching it on something once, so I don't treat it as indestructible. so I think being a little careful helps with any umbrella. I'd happily have the same one again, I really love the look!

Desiree Conley

Rain driven in sideways can still get your legs wet with most…

Rain driven in sideways can still get your legs wet with most umbrellas - this one gives good cover and has managed the gusts I've had so far. The green is nice and the handle sits well in my hand, a useful extra. It folds down, but isn't the tiniest umbrella, so leave some room for it.

Rose Nielsen

Only just got it, but first impressions are good.

Only just got it, but first impressions are good. Folds down enough for my backpack and the button makes putting it up easy. Can't say how long it'll last yet (too early)but it feels substantial. I'd rather pay for one decent umbrella than keep spending on flimsy ones that don't last.

Alexis Drake

There is room to keep me and my grocery bags under it.

Was fed up with little umbrellas leaving me wet, so wanted something with better coverage. We've had so much rain this year and this one has been out a lot. There is room to keep me and my grocery bags under it. It wont disappear into a tiny handbag, but for getting home dry it is worth carrying something a bit more substantial.

Mathew Woodard

It feels lovely to use and the coverage is just brilliant!

I thought it looked so cute and couldn't wait to open it. Wasn't sure an umbrella bought online would look as nice in person, so I was a little hesitant at first. Once I had it up I was completely won over. It feels lovely to use and the coverage is just brilliant!

Carmen Hickman

The bags still need a bit of arranging.

Having usually struggled with umbrellas that need two hands, the button on this one was a welcome discovery. There always seems to be a bag or a child occupying the hand I need! It pops up readily, and opened out it feels much more substantial than its folded size suggests. My ten year old and I ended up looking at it sideways to work out the coverage. About 105cm across is a sensible size for me, not the vast spread of a golf umbrella, but certainly not a tiny canopy either. Getting out of the minivan in heavy rain with the baby in the car seat and bags to manage was where I really appreciated it. I could get the umbrella up without putting everything down, and keep myself and the baby sheltered while sorting ourselves out. The bags still need a bit of arranging. I've had it out on windy days too and so far it has felt reassuringly solid. I don't feel as though I'm fighting to control it all the time. The loop handle sits comfortably in my hand, something I notice more when standing through a wet baseball game than on a quick walk. Overall this has been a very useful buy. The blue is a nice straightforward colour, and I like that I can fold it down for carrying rather than having a long umbrella to keep track of.

Riley Mathis

I bought this alongside a smaller automatic umbrella.

I bought this alongside a smaller automatic umbrella. This one takes up a little more room and feels sturdier, with some extra weight as expected. The carabiner handle clips onto my bag, which makes carrying it quite convenient. For wet weather I prefer having this size available rather than always relying on the smallest one.

Daryl Ingram

open size, folded length, weight, how the thing operates.

I consider this a very good umbrella, having had a few umbrellas over the years myself, but, why do so many descriptions spend their time saying stylish or comfortable? As a buyer I want the particulars, e.g. open size, folded length, weight, how the thing operates. Here we have roughly 105cm across, 40cm folded and 390g, with 30 flexible ribs. That gives me something to judge! The button raises and closes the canopy; the telescoping part is reset manually. Now that is useful information, not just saying it looks nice. I am pleased with it, yes, but I prefer a reason behind an EXCELLENT rating. Explain the FEATURES, and then what they actually do for the person carrying it!

Levi Shah

For the everyday rain & wind that was enough to convince me.

Anyone who knows Chicago will understand why I wanted something sturdier than my usual cheap umbrella! Rain is one thing, but add the wind and suddenly a simple walk becomes hard work. I decided to spend more this time, although I wasn't convinced that spending more would actually make much difference. The first rainy walk changed my mind. There was a breeze too and I wasn't constantly adjusting my umbrella or trying to shelter behind it, which was a nice change! I noticed other people leaning into theirs, holding on with both hands, while I was walking along fairly normally. For the everyday rain & wind that was enough to convince me. So where did the fifth star go? The weight! It folds down, yes, but for something this size it is quite substantial. Going to work, picking up shopping, the normal things around town... that's fine. If I was packing for a long holiday I would think twice, because it still needs room in your luggage and you notice what you're carrying. There is a sleeve supplied which is handy for keeping it together, it doesn't make the whole thing any lighter though! My feeling is keep this one for regular daily use and choose something lighter when luggage space matters most. A useful umbrella, just not quite the small lightweight thing you can put in a bag and forget about.

Lacey Herrera

The plain canopy and oval handle give it a neat, modern appearance.

A sensible option for someone who wants a presentable umbrella for work without spending a great deal. The plain canopy and oval handle give it a neat, modern appearance. Holding it, though, I would describe the finish as practical rather than luxurious. The handle in particular feels fairly basic, which is my main reservation. In use it has provided good shelter from rain, and the frame feels substantial without making it a burden to carry. I cannot say how it will hold up over years, but for everyday use on a budget it seems a sound choice. I would buy it again.

Michele Melton

Pleased I chose it.

I get good coverage from this umbrella, and quite a few people have asked about it (the handle seems to catch their eye). I like having a closed loop to hold rather than a slippery straight grip when I'm carrying things. Getting it open while also holding packages is much less of a performance--one press and the canopy is up. A small convenience, but one I really appreciate when the rain starts. Pleased I chose it.

Bernard Russell

I like the closed loop handle, gives me a secure hold.

For anyone who hates getting soaked, this is a good umbrella to have along. There's a useful amount of cover and it feels steady rather than flimsy when the weather gets breezy. I like the closed loop handle, gives me a secure hold. Black is exactly the colour I wanted as well. If I was being really picky I'd say it isn't the tiniest thing folded, but I'd rather have a solid umbrella with decent coverage than squeeze everything down smaller.

Melinda Hart

After using it, though, I'm glad I did.

I have a bigger umbrella as well, but this compact one is GREAT for taking to my grandchildren's summer baseball and softball games. I can sit with my own bit of shade instead of squinting through the whole game...SO-O-O much nicer when there isn't a tree nearby. It gives me enough cover without being a huge thing to haul around. Works in rain as well, which is handy when the weather changes during a game. (My own little shady spot :-) I do tend to look for a bargain and wasn't sure about spending more on an umbrella. After using it, though, I'm glad I did. It seems solid, folds into something manageable, and actually gets taken along rather than left behind. I've been telling people it's worth considering if they spend time sitting out at games.

Larry Mendoza

Bought it for my boyfriend's birthday and he was delighted!

Bought it for my boyfriend's birthday and he was delighted! It looks smart, and it feels like a proper umbrella rather than just something that looks nice. Pressing the button gets it open quickly. I'd seen a few comments that made me wonder about how it would feel, but ours is sturdy and has been straightforward to use. We can squeeze underneath together when needed. Not a complicated present, just a useful one that he actually likes.

Jesse Jackson

I love this umbrella, it has been a very good purchase for me.

I love this umbrella, it has been a very good purchase for me. I would happily recommend it to anyone wanting a folding umbrella. The shaft feels a little shorter than I would choose, but it is still comfortable to use and handy for travelling because it folds down. The black looks great. It does have a bit more weight than some of my old umbrellas, though it feels substantial too. I'm impressed with it overall and very glad I decided on this one.

Jillian Ho

I am happy giving this five stars.

Compact umbrellas have usually disappointed me because the saving in size seems to come at the expense of a dry shoulder. I was doubtful about this one for that reason. Having used it, I think the balance is VERY good. It is light enough to carry without thinking much about it, but there is enough canopy overhead to make carrying it worthwhile. The frame has some give without feeling flimsy, and it has stayed the right way round in the ordinary rain and breezes I've encountered. My favorite part, surprisingly, is the oval loop handle. There is something about having that complete loop to grip that feels more secure to me than a little straight handle. I don't have to squeeze it quite so tightly. That is a personal thing, of course; hands are different and I wouldn't assume everyone will find the same handle comfortable. For mine it works very well. I spent a while wondering whether I should choose a larger, full length umbrella instead. A little extra coverage sounds attractive, but then you have the extra length to carry everywhere, including when the rain stops. This seems a sensible compromise. At roughly 105cm across when open, it doesn't feel like one of those tiny emergency umbrellas. Folded, it is still about 40cm long, so compact does not mean it will disappear into any pocket. I would rather have the useful coverage than save those last few inches. The button operation was another thing I wasn't sure I needed. In practice it is convenient, particularly when you want to get it down promptly. Pressing the button closes the canopy; you still push the telescoping shaft back down by hand to reset it. Once I understood that sequence there was nothing puzzling about it. I tend to be cautious with moving mechanisms, so I don't force anything or expect the button to do that last manual step. I am happy giving this five stars. It has the combination of coverage, manageable weight and comfortable handling that I wanted. I wouldn't expect any handheld umbrella to make strong wind effortless, regardless of how substantial the frame looks. You still have to pay attention to how you hold it. For normal rain, though, this has been a much nicer umbrella to use than its folded size led me to expect.

Jackie Mcneil

Lovely umbrella.

Lovely umbrella. Plenty of cover on the dog walks, and room to squeeze in beside someone! I thought my previous one had disappeared, then found it after this arrived. So now there's a spare, but THIS is the one I reach for. Folds down for carrying, but .. still feels substantial opened up. Best part .. no wrestling to get it open! ;)

Briana Whitney

Ordered two for my granddaughters and both were so excited.

Ordered two for my granddaughters and both were so excited. They've been carrying them around and opening them again and again. These aren't toys, the frame feels quite substantial. I was worried about pinched fingers, so I've been nearby when they're using them, and there haven't been any. They would look nice with a costume, but they're useful for real rain too.

Tom Pearson

Easy to use and I'm still happy with what I paid...

Well, after more than a year this still gets used, including two nights ago! I wanted a roomy pink umbrella without having to store a long one, and this suits me nicely. Two of us can shelter if we stand close, then it folds away for the car or a cupboard. Easy to use and I'm still happy with what I paid... a good buy.

Krystal Walls

The blue is lovely and she is delighted with it.

We came home with this umbrella today and my daughter hasn't wanted to put it down. She's three and a half and has wanted an umbrella of her own for ages, so this has been a big event for her. The blue is lovely and she is delighted with it. I can't say much about how it will last since we've only just got it. What I can say is that the button makes opening it straightforward, and the canopy gives her a good amount of coverage without having a huge umbrella to carry around. I help with putting it away: the button draws the canopy closed, and I press the telescoping part down afterwards. It's useful that it folds up small when she doesn't want to hold it anymore, since that generally means I get to carry it! Nothing complicated about why we like it, she wanted her own umbrella and this has made her day. For now, a good purchase and a very excited little girl.

Andre Salinas

it looks lovely and doesn't feel flimsy.

Honestly i did hesitate before ordering an umbrella online, because buying things without seeing them has been a bit of a gamble for me. But i am glad i went ahead with this one! it looks lovely and doesn't feel flimsy. I've needed something for shade because sunscreen makes my skin unhappy, even the ones meant for sensitive skin, so having another way to get out of the direct sun is a relief. It's cute too, which certainly doesn't hurt :3 A few things for anyone wondering: Pros:-nice solid feel-pretty enough that i actually want to carry it-gives me shade without being a huge thing to take along~ Cons:-getting it put away took a little figuring out. The button springs it open and brings the canopy closed, but the telescoping part still needs pressing down manually. i initially thought the button would do absolutely everything, so my first attempt was a little awkward X3. Not a big deal once you know, just not quite the single motion i had pictured. Being able to fold it down afterwards is handy though; i don't particularly want a long parasol to carry everywhere. So that little extra step isn't something that puts me off using it. Overall a lovely umbrella, just a bit of getting used to at first. Four stars from me! <3 would happily pick it again

Kristin Lynn

It's an umbrella, nothing especially complicated to report.

It's an umbrella, nothing especially complicated to report. The loop handle is comfortable and the button works without a fuss. There's room for it in my golf bag, so that is where it stays. The blue is a little brighter than I'd normally choose, but I can live with that. Comes with a sleeve as well.

Terrance Snyder

Gives me shade when the sun is hot and keeps the rain off too.

Feels solidly made. Gives me shade when the sun is hot and keeps the rain off too. I use mine most weeks at the soccer field, being a soccer mom in Hawaii means standing around in all sorts of weather. It has made that much more comfortable for me. Seems good quality and I'm hoping to get plenty of use from it.

Jennifer Cook

The closed oval handle gave him something easy to hold.

Purchased as a present for a 3 1/2 year old, and he spent much of the first day playing with it indoors. If you were a chosen grownup you had to join him under the umbrella while it was 'raining' in the room. We stayed dry of course. It felt sturdy through lots of button presses, with me helping push the telescoping section down in between. The closed oval handle gave him something easy to hold. A real umbrella rather than a toy, and a great success.Recommended.

Maria Bentley

For now it does what I need and is pleasant to carry.

Cute umbrella, although I'm not quite as convinced by the finish as I have been with some I've owned. I picked this one for a couple of reasons-the beige is nice and I wanted something that folds away. It keeps my hair dry, which was the main point, so four stars seems fair. I have two other umbrellas already (you need them with all the rain here). This will be my going out one rather than the one I leave by the door. I've only just started using it so I can't really say much about how it will wear. For now it does what I need and is pleasant to carry.

Hayley Ramirez

Happy to add it to my collection.

I've wanted an umbrella with a decent amount of cover for ages, mostly so my hair doesn't get soaked whenever I go out. Only had one rainy outing with this so far, but it kept me nicely covered. I still keep an eye on the edges when people pass, of course. Folded it is bigger than something I'd put in a little handbag, although fine in a larger bag. Happy to add it to my collection. A very good find!

Clayton Lawson

I would recommend paying a little extra for this umbrella.

I would recommend paying a little extra for this umbrella. It feels properly made and the button is simple to use. I was looking for something to keep rather than replace all the time, and this seems a good choice. The plain, neat appearance would suit just about anyone.

Sara Snow

Folds small enough for my purse too.

Exactly what I was after - easy to use and dependable. Better than the umbrellas I've had before. It has kept the rain off on windy walks to class, and the button opening is handy. Folds small enough for my purse too. Liked mine enough to buy one for my sister!

Dwayne Thornton

So what makes it worth choosing a better one?

An umbrella has a fairly unglamorous job: get you through the rain without leaving you soaked. You can pick up a cheap one almost anywhere, and I have done that often enough. The trouble is that saving a little at the checkout doesn't feel so clever when the weather starts pushing it around. So what makes it worth choosing a better one? For me, it comes down to how it is put together, rather than how fancy it looks. Taking this one out of its packaging, I noticed the finish and the way everything sat neatly together. It gave me a good first impression, including the sleeve, which isn't something I normally spend time thinking about. But an umbrella looking convincing indoors is hardly proof of anything. I wanted to see what happened outside before deciding I had made a good choice. It slips into my commuter bag easily enough. Once it is packed with everything else, I don't give it much thought, although I have found myself checking that I actually put it in there. Out of the sleeve, a press on the button sends it open with a satisfyingly firm movement. No standing there trying to coax the canopy into place while getting wet. Looking underneath, the ribs have some give to them, which seemed more useful than a frame that just felt rigid. Still, I wasn't going to judge that by looking. The real test was a wet walk to the station with enough wind to make me pay attention to how I was holding it. It held its shape, covered me properly, and I arrived dry. Nothing dramatic happened, which is exactly what I wanted. I wasn't wrestling it for the whole walk or wondering whether I should just give up and run. Would I choose it again? Absolutely. Having an umbrella I can take out and trust for an ordinary rainy commute makes the purchase feel worthwhile.
