Kept me covered well even when the rain picked up.
Had this with me during that long wet weekend in NYC, and it got plenty of use while I was working outside. Kept me covered well even when the rain picked up. It even got comments from coworkers about being a bit fancy for work, which I thought was funny. It is a touch bulky in my work bag, but I'd still recommend it. They seemed a little jealous.

Nicely put together, and easy to spot.
Nicely put together, and easy to spot. We walk the dog, so a useful amount of cover is much appreciated. A bit of a talking point too, because, well.. what else do people discuss on a wet walk?! A relative has one from us and they're VERY pleased as well.. . So, the verdict: solid feeling frame, not flimsy, comfortable handle, folds neatly, and gives me enough shelter without a huge thing to carry.
Belinda Rush
Very happy so far and hoping it'll be one I keep using for years.
I wanted enough cover for my daughter and me close together, without carrying a great long umbrella. It goes in my handbag (actually more of a tote) quite comfortably. Feels properly put together and has done well in the heavy rain we've had here. Very happy so far and hoping it'll be one I keep using for years.
George Gay
Seriously GOOD umbrella.
Seriously GOOD umbrella. Mine's dealt with rain and windy days and is still going strong (I've had it over a year now). Nothing feels loose or tired yet. When this one finally wears out I'll be getting another, but it doesn't look like that'll be anytime soon.
Lauren Guerrero
Happy to recommend it.
Received in good order and matches the description. The frame feels well put together. Opening with the button is straightforward, and the canopy closes neatly before I push the shaft back in. A sleeve is included for storage. The oval handle sits comfortably in my hand. Happy to recommend it.

This umbrella has a cute, simple look and feels fairly solid.
This umbrella has a cute, simple look and feels fairly solid. The coverage is generous enough for me, and it has handled a bit of breeze without drama. Pushing the button to open it is very handy. The one cloud (sorry :/ ) is that the fabric feels on the thin side. Nothing luxurious about that part, just ordinary umbrella fabric, though it does its job in rain and also makes useful shade. :) I do like the neat little loop handle!
Grace Chandler
The cloth has a good quality feeling.
Had my first use of it today. I was very satisfied. The cloth has a good quality feeling. The rod for holding the umbrella is firm and strong enough. The ribs look regular. It did well when the wind came up. Only I would prefer the holding rod a little longer, perhaps another 10 cm. Overall satisfied, a very good quality for the price.
Pamela Reed
We are pleased with the purchase and would recommend them.
We purchased four umbrellas for guests to use when going out to a taxi in wet weather. The construction is solid and the design practical, particularly the oval loop handle, which is comfortable to hold. There is enough coverage to hold over a guest managing luggage on that short walk, without being cumbersome to store afterwards. We are pleased with the purchase and would recommend them.
Dennis Gill
A good replacement for it.
My wife has been using hers happily, so I chose one after my old umbrella finally gave up after many years. A good replacement for it. Two little tips-push the shaft back yourself after the canopy closes, and smooth the fabric out before wrapping it up. Makes putting it away much easier.

Rain can go bother somebody else!
Needed a decent 'brella after my old street-stall special started giving up. This one's a much more sensible size to take around, but it doesn't turn into some tiny postage stamp when you open it. Proper space over my head, thank you very much. Rain can go bother somebody else!Seriously, for a folding umbrella it gives me plenty of cover and has felt solid in the wind and rain I've used it in. The oval loop on the handle is a neat touch, although that wasn't what sold it to me. It feels well put together rather than flimsy. A month of use so far, and nothing to grumble about.
Eddie Hayes
The handle is what stands out for me.
I tend to want a decent sized canopy even for everyday use, being tall, and this gives me comfortable cover without having to carry a long umbrella. The handle is what stands out for me. Comfortable to hold and the whole thing is light enough as well.. A bad handle can really spoil an otherwise decent umbrella. This one suits my hand nicely. Black is what I usually choose, so that was easy. Overall, one of the nicest folding umbrellas I've owned.
Judy Delgado
A lovely umbrella.
Chose this for my sister-in-law and nearly kept it when I saw it! The cream white is so pretty and it's useful too! A lovely umbrella. The size looks just right and it feels solid when opened -- not flimsy like some I've seen. Pleased with how it was packed as well. Would certainly recommend it!

This umbrella was one part of my mother's Mother's Day gift.
This umbrella was one part of my mother's Mother's Day gift. She had been reaching for mine whenever rain came along and I didn't mind that. Still, I wanted her to have her own again. I was trying to choose something practical this year, something that wouldn't just be put away once the holiday was over. We always kept umbrellas in the house when I was growing up. I tend to hang onto them for years, rather than think of them as a seasonal purchase (unless you are out in rain every single day, I suppose that is different). The one she has been borrowing has been with me a long time. So I spent a while looking at this one before deciding. Black suits her, and although it is a plain colour it looks quite smart. I thought that was better than choosing something fussy she might not want to carry. She was delighted when she unwrapped it. It has rained several times this week, so she hasn't had to wait around to try it. Yesterday she was telling me how much she likes using it, especially being able to open it with the button. It also folds down small enough that she can keep it with her instead of borrowing mine again. My aunt came over during Mother's Day weekend and noticed it straight away. She thought it looked very elegant and asked if I would get another for her. I did, and the second package was outside the door when we went to let her in. I hadn't even looked to see when it was due, being the weekend, so that was a nice surprise. I am happy with how this worked out. Five stars from me, for an umbrella that made a sensible gift and has actually been used.
Selena Wheeler
On inspection the umbrella gives a good impression.
Delivery was rather slow. On inspection the umbrella gives a good impression. I have yet to try it at work, but for everyday rain it does the job well for its cost. Materials have a satisfactory finish. The size was as expected. Happy about the purchase overall. I would advise buying.
Rick Cole
It does the job.
I was tired of picking up another bargain umbrella every time the last one gave out, so I went for this instead. Didn't want the tiniest folding kind, just something with a bit more cover. It does the job. The ribs have some give to them, which I appreciate after losing my old one when the wind caught it. This one flexed when a breeze got underneath, then settled back without any fuss. Not saying it's indestructible, but it feels like a better choice.
Darius Newman
Finally an umbrella I enjoy using!!!
Finally an umbrella I enjoy using!!! I work where it gets windy and have been disappointed with umbrellas before. One press and it pops open!!! The sleeve is handy for carrying it between the parking lot and my office, which is a two block walk. It fits into my bigger bag so I don't have to carry it separately when the forecast looks uncertain. The oval loop makes it easy to hold onto as well. Out in rain with a breeze it stayed open and kept me dry!!! Mine is black, just the colour I expected from the pictures. There are other colours to choose from too. It great having something compact that doesn't feel flimsy when you open it up. I would be happy buying these for friends as gifts!!! Can't ask much more from an umbrella!
Gabriela Nixon
Yesterday it finally got a proper rain test and kept us dry as well.
We wanted something for shade during the summer and this has worked well. It's much more comfortable out of the direct sun underneath it.Yesterday it finally got a proper rain test and kept us dry as well. There is more room under it than I expected from a folding umbrella. The fabric and frame both feel nicely put together, so I'm hoping we'll get several years out of it. It seems better made than most of the umbrellas I've looked at for similar money.
Walter Nicholson
It opens nicely and feels solid in use.
At this price I really don't think there's much to complain about. When I bought it for my wife her first question was whether the low price meant it would feel flimsy. We have paid considerably more for umbrellas that don't seem any better put together, so that worry didn't last very long. She chose it because she liked the green and wanted something attractive as well as useful for rainy days. Having looked it over, I can't find anything to grumble about with the seams or the way the edges are finished. It opens nicely and feels solid in use. I haven't got a long list of clever things to say about an umbrella, but both of us are pleased with what we got. For the money I would struggle to ask for anything more!
Bill Johnson
For what I paid I think it's excellent.
Does everything I need it to, really. It has the look of something more expensive and I've stayed dry using it. A touch more coverage would have been nice, but the size was there to read before buying, so I can't complain about that. For what I paid I think it's excellent.
Shawn Tran
Should stay with me a good while.
This feels a definite step up from my previous umbrella. Solid frame and a straightforward look, which suits me better than anything fussy. The open size covers me and the things I carry to work without feeling like I'm blocking the pavement. I spent more than I normally would on an umbrella, but I don't regret it. Should stay with me a good while.
Harold Merritt
- Grandma is quite happy to do that!!
My granddaughter is 4 1/2 and was absolutely tickled to get her own gray umbrella, which is the colour she wanted. The fabric and frame feel substantial, and I like the oval handle because there's somewhere definite for her hand to go. This is a regular umbrella, not a toy, so an adult helps with the button and folding it back up. - Grandma is quite happy to do that!! Her mother was happy with that arrangement too, as a little one still needs a hand with an umbrella. For my granddaughter the important bit was simply having one of her own to take outside. They had plenty of showers over Memorial Day, so she had a chance to try it with us nearby. Seeing how proud she was holding it made this a lovely present!
Tasha Valentine
I like the comfortable loop handle as well.
My girl absolutely loves using this--and I think it's a good buy too. It feels sturdy, not flimsy, and she finds the button simple to use. I help her shorten it after the canopy folds, but otherwise she manages it well. I like the comfortable loop handle as well. Happy with the value and would get one again without hesitation.
Caitlin Benson
Nice looking and feels sturdy.
Gave this to someone who lives in the city and she has been very happy with it. Says it's easy to take along and has kept her dry. Nice looking and feels sturdy. I had wondered about the strength after reading a few comments, but she hasn't had any trouble and says it's as useful as any umbrella she's had before.
Clinton Henson
Beautiful umbrella!
Beautiful umbrella! For the tiny amount I paid, I was expecting much less. A press of the button sends it up, another press draws the canopy in, then you compress the telescoping shaft yourself. Nothing mysterious once you have tried it. Open canopy is around 105 cm and folded it is about 40 cm, so not some miniature thing that barely covers your head. There are 30 ribs, and the whole thing feels properly put together. The loop handle is an interesting shape as well. It even turned up before the tracking seemed to catch up. In short, I'd have been happy buying it at a normal price, never mind what I actually paid! I keep checking it and wondering how such a cheap purchase ended up feeling this substantial. Not complaining, just honestly surprised. Can recommend the umbrella itself very happily. Still can't quite get over the bargain.
Joan Turner
This has been a handy umbrella for me.
This has been a handy umbrella for me. It goes in the side pocket of my backpack, and opened up there's enough room to share if we stand close. Even on windy days it's been fine. If I was looking for something to grumble about, the loop handle feels a bit chunky in my hand, but nothing that puts me off.
Lawrence Ferguson
All in all, I'm thoroughly happy with my choice.
With pale skin and Florida sunshine, I wanted something I could hold over me rather than relying entirely on sunscreen. I still use sunscreen, but the mess of putting it on (and putting it on again!) gets rather tiresome. An umbrella for shade seemed worth a try, and I'm delighted I gave it a go. Mine is black, which is quite understated, and I like that it doesn't draw too much attention. The black underneath looks neat too, although of course I spend more time looking out from under it than admiring it! It feels substantial without being something I'd dread carrying around. Opening it with the button was straightforward. Closing took me a moment to understand, since the button folds the canopy but you still need to compress the telescoping shaft yourself. Once I'd worked that out, it was simple enough. The sleeve is useful, and getting the umbrella back inside hasn't involved the struggle I was anticipating. All in all, I'm thoroughly happy with my choice. Carrying my own little patch of shade might seem a bit old-fashioned, but that rather appeals to me, so I'm sticking with it! Someone has already complimented it, which was a pleasant surprise for such a plain umbrella. I can quite imagine choosing another colour from the same range eventually.
James Nunez
Exactly the sort of folding umbrella I was hoping for...
Exactly the sort of folding umbrella I was hoping for... it feels substantial and well finished. Still waiting for a proper squall before I make any judgement beyond ordinary rain. Not inexpensive, but I am happy with the construction so far. The closed oval handle gives a comfortable grip... I do wonder how easy the inside of that loop will be to clean after a lot of use. The handles on my indoor exercise bars gradually became grubby from dirt and hand oils, which has made me more conscious of that sort of thing. This handle feels fine at present; long term wear is something I will have to wait and see. Perhaps a plainer handle would be easier to wipe down, although the loop is comfortable and I am pleased with the umbrella overall.
Joyce Middleton
For use in ordinary wet weather, I'm impressed.
The price gave me pause, even for a compact umbrella with automatic opening. After a few wet, windy days in Seattle I'm much more comfortable with what I spent. It feels manageable when a breeze catches it, and I haven't found myself fighting to keep the canopy overhead. Cheaper folding umbrellas tend to become a nuisance for me within a few months, so I'm hoping this one will be a longer term companion. I can't judge years of use yet, but the first impressions are encouraging. One practical note: compact doesn't mean it disappears completely. At around 40cm folded, it still pokes above the top of my backpack. That isn't a deal breaker, just something to measure your bag for if you want the whole thing tucked inside. For use in ordinary wet weather, I'm impressed.
April Kane
There is some weight to it, though.
The size caught me out a little--folded up it looks fairly manageable, but there is a decent amount of umbrella over you once it's open. It feels slightly excessive when there are about three drops of rain. Still, getting wet is something I really dislike, especially with my laptop along, and there's room to keep my bag under cover without pressing it against me. I wouldn't call it a huge umbrella, just a useful amount of coverage for something that folds.
The loop handle is comfortable to hold, and the black fabric and shaft seem substantial enough for regular use. I've had it about a month, so that's an impression rather than a report on years of service. There is some weight to it, though. I don't mind that, but if you want something that disappears into a tiny handbag, this probably isn't it. Once it's folded, the sleeve keeps everything together rather than leaving a loose bundle to poke out of my bag. I appreciate that more than I thought I would.
I'd recommend it to someone who wants themselves and their things covered and doesn't mind carrying a noticeable umbrella after the rain stops. Less suitable if every inch of bag space matters, or if your main aim is to pretend you never brought an umbrella at all.
Whitney Perez
On balance, a good buy.
I went for this after getting fed up with umbrellas flipping on my walk to work. It's been reassuringly steady so far, and a friend can squeeze alongside me if we stay close. I still find getting it out of the way as I climb into the car a bit awkward. (I need to fold it properly first.) That's probably down to how I use it rather than a real problem with the umbrella. On balance, a good buy.
Francisco Yates
After too many flimsy umbrellas from shops, I wanted something…
After too many flimsy umbrellas from shops, I wanted something that felt more substantial. This one has been dependable on blustery days and doesn't feel like it will fold itself inside out. It opens fairly wide, tho, so getting it out of the way as I climb into the car still takes a little juggling. I get a few drops on me doing that, but I'm pleased with the umbrella.
Eileen Soto
It goes in my push cart between uses, so carrying it isn't an issue.
It is useful to carry on walks round the golf course when the sun is out. It has been handy in rain as well, although wet golf isn't my idea of fun. There is a little more weight to it than some folding umbrellas, but it feels sturdy. It goes in my push cart between uses, so carrying it isn't an issue.
Jessica Mann
happy with it so far and would recommend
Matches what I expected, folded down it is compact and opened out it is a normal useful size. it makes a slightly chunky bundle, not flat, but seems strong. i can get it into my everyday bag without much trouble. The sleeve keeps it together when put away. happy with it so far and would recommend

Opening it with the button is handy too.
My daughter actually wants wet weather now so she has an excuse to bring this out. It looks really sweet and people have commented on it. We've had ours a couple months, with plenty of use in our rainy part of Washington, and it's still looking good. The price seemed reasonable for something she enjoys using instead of just tolerating. Opening it with the button is handy too. I think it's a nice birthday gift because it isn't only something pretty to look at. We gave one to a friend and she seems to reach for it whenever it rains.

The grip sits well in my hand .
After reading quite a few reviews I expected a bit more, now that I have used mine for several months . Not that it is bad, it feels reasonably strong, does the job and has a nice finish . The grip sits well in my hand . I appreciate the folded shape because my bag has not much spare room, and a long handle sticking out makes an odd corner in the fabric, lol . This one fits without me arranging everything around it first . The closed loop at the handle is useful too when I have more things to carry than hands available . On those wet days, little conveniences suddenly become important, I find .
Getting it gathered up neatly is probably what I appreciate most . I don't enjoy standing there struggling with loose umbrella fabric while everything else I am holding is also getting wet !! Rolled together and into its sleeve, it is a tidy bundle instead of something spreading across the inside of my bag . Dry is easier of course, but even damp it doesn't take me ages to get it sorted . Maybe not a grand reason to like an umbrella, but for my daily use it counts quite a lot .
So I am satisfied overall, although the reviews had built a slightly better thing in my mind than the actual thing . It still feels worth what I paid, decent looking and sufficiently solid for going about town in ordinary rain . With a stronger breeze I notice the pull and pay more attention to how I am holding it . Having had flimsy umbrellas before, I tend to react early rather than wait and see what happens :-) A habit that follows you, I suppose :-) Anyway, good enough for me, with that small reservation about expectations .
Paige Cox
This one works well for that and the button opening is convenient.
I needed a replacement umbrella and was looking for something compact enough to leave in my purse. I don't like being caught without one when a shower starts, but I also don't want to carry a heavy full length umbrella all day. This one works well for that and the button opening is convenient. My one reservation is that I had imagined the entire thing retracting automatically. The button closes the canopy, then the telescoping shaft needs to be pressed down by hand. That is normal for it, just not quite what I had pictured when ordering.

This was for my sister and she loves it!
This was for my sister and she loves it! It doesn't feel like a burden to carry around, but there's still a nice solid feel when you open it. The pink is cheerful and the button makes getting it up so quick! My only little grumble is getting the fabric folded back neatly when I pack it away. It takes a moment, but that isn't something I notice while carrying it or when it's open over my head.

Usually I either leave an umbrella behind or make do with some…
Usually I either leave an umbrella behind or make do with some flimsy freebie. I finally spent a bit on one I actually wanted, and this has been worth it. The black looks good and it has coped nicely with wind and rain so far. A little extra width would be nice, but I appreciate how neatly it folds and it doesn't feel a burden to carry.

The shade has been welcome and it has kept the rain off nicely.
I am sensitive to bright sunshine, so quite a few of my purchases are things to help me stay out of it. I had mostly been thinking about clothing and hadn't given much thought to an umbrella for shade. Having something I can use for that as well as rain has been a nice discovery!
I've taken this one out several times now, on sunny days and in wet weather, with a little wind as well. The shade has been welcome and it has kept the rain off nicely. Nothing about using it so far has given me cause for concern.
I chose Cream White, which is a pleasant neutral and doesn't clash with whatever I'm wearing. It feels solid when open, rather than flimsy, and folds into a manageable size. I'm still fairly new to this sort of compact umbrella but haven't found it difficult to work out. Pressing the button brings the canopy down, then you shorten the stem manually to finish closing it. That final part needs a slightly firmer push than my previous umbrella did. My fingers are often arthritic, so I do notice that sort of thing, but I've still been able to put it away myself without a struggle. It just takes a little deliberate pressure rather than being completely effortless.
Overall I'm pleased with how useful it has been for both shade and rainy weather. It looks nice, feels well put together and isn't too heavy for me to bring along. Once folded it fits down in my bag, which means I'm much more likely to have it when I need it. That is pretty much what I wanted!

The boys particularly enjoy listening to the rain hitting the fabric.
Ordered a pair in pink for my boys, aged 7 and 5, and the reaction was "PINK everywhere!" They've been a big success. We had an umbrella go missing before, so I wanted replacements that were useful as well as something the boys would actually carry. These feel nicely made, with a good amount of cover for our walks to school. I carry one as well and like having a handle I can keep hold of easily. The boys particularly enjoy listening to the rain hitting the fabric. Funny what children notice! The button makes opening straightforward, although I still help them push the shafts down after the canopies have closed. It's not the whole umbrella disappearing with one press, just so you know. I haven't bothered with any special care, just letting them dry out after use rather than putting them away soaking wet. :)Update after 5 months: They've had plenty of outings and still look really good!UPDATE two years later: Still opening properly, fabric intact, and we're continuing to use them. Very glad I bought them!
Vanessa Vargas
Pleased with the choice.
Our two year old granddaughter is delighted with this umbrella. The whole thing feels nicely put together, which matters when small hands want to examine everything. It's a nice umbrella for us to hold over her on rainy outings, and she loves being underneath it.Her older sister is keen on it too. I think we'll have plenty of happy little walks with it over the summer. Pleased with the choice.
Holly Warren
They standup well to a bit of wind too.
We have had several of these for about four years and they've had plenty of use. Taken them around New York and over to Scotland in wet weather and they still do the job. They standup well to a bit of wind too. Ordered a couple more after we managed to lose some, nothing to do with the umbrellas themselves. That was our own bad judgement. Oh, those umbrella stands just inside restaurants are a gamble. You can walk out with somebody's sad little umbrella instead of the decent one you came in with.
Tanya Gamble
Opening it is easy enough.
I like the simple black look of this umbrella, and it gives me a comfortable amount of cover. There is room for another person if we stay close ... Though usually it's just me! It isn't a fit for my purse, but slips into my tote without trouble. Opening it is easy enough. With my arthritic fingers, pushing the shaft back down after the button folds the canopy is more of a two handed job. That's the only part I find a bit awkward. The sleeve is useful, although getting everything tucked back in neatly takes me a moment. None of that has put me off using it. It's a nice umbrella and I hope it lasts a long time, particularly for walks with my Border Collie. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting practical everyday rain cover.
Scott Gibson
It looks good too.
After getting fed up with flimsy umbrellas and money going straight in the bin, I finally spent some time looking for a decent one. Well, I'm glad I did! This has that satisfying swish as it springs open, and it feels firm in my hand without making my arm ache. It looks good too. It's nice to have an umbrella I actually want to take with me instead of just putting up with. Really pleased, and I'd consider getting more for presents.
Sergio Jefferson
The green looks just as it should, a good strong colour.
We think the design is lovely and it has been so easy to use . The green looks just as it should, a good strong colour. We've been telling pretty much all our friends and neighbours how pleased we are with it, not often we get this enthusiastic about an umbrella , thank you
Debra Warner
It feels solid and the button is easy for him to work.
My five year old needed another umbrella after his old one gave up after a couple of years. He had looked after it pretty well, so we let him pick the replacement. He was really taken with this one. It feels solid and the button is easy for him to work. I help push the stem down when we're done, but he can carry it himself. There is room for him to grow with it too.He is absolutely delighted with his choice.

Bought it because rain was forecast for our outdoor pop up dinner luckily it stayed dryWe've used it since and it gives good cover for one person, opens quickly and feels solidHow I'd manage to hold it over the table and eat at the same time was the bit I hadn't figured out, glad the weather saved me from trying that night

The handle is a closed oval loop.
Not used it for a long stretch yet but some details might be useful.Open width is about 105cm, folded length about 40cm and weight around 390g.The handle is a closed oval loop.Black on the inside of the canopy.Button opens it and brings the canopy shut, you still shorten the pole yourself.More after the park outings later this month.UPDATE: Took it apple picking with my girlfriends family on a hot sunny day.At first there were looks like I was being a bit precious carrying my own shade. After a while in that HOT sun nobody thought it was such a silly idea.I was much more comfortable out of the direct sun while everybody else was baking. Not the tiniest thing for carrying all day, which is my only real reservation, but it earned its place.
Leon Ashley
A useful folding umbrella, although compact is relative.
A useful folding umbrella, although compact is relative. Closed, it's about 40cm from end to end, so I'd check your bag rather than assume it will drop into a small purse. At roughly 390g it is manageable, but it isn't one of those tiny featherweight things. The automatic opening gives you a full canopy quickly, around 105cm across. Pressing the button again gathers the canopy; the telescoping part then needs pressing down by hand before you put it away. That works fine, just worth understanding what automatic means here. The closed oval loop makes a substantial handle. I find it secure to hold, and the flexible ribs give the canopy a reasonably sturdy feel without making it rigid to fold. The sleeve is useful once everything is dry.For me the size sits between a little handbag umbrella and a long full sized one. Good cover for one person in ordinary rain, but I wouldn't expect to stay completely dry in a sideways downpour. It makes more sense alongside a messenger bag than in my small purse. The cream white looks clean and unfussy.I passed it to my partner, who likes the size, and I think it suits him

So far it is doing what I wanted.
So far it is doing what I wanted. I've owned a number of little folding umbrellas and was after more cover without having to carry a long umbrella everywhere. This opens to a useful size, but folded it only just squeezes into my work bag if I lay it along the bottom. Nice looking, feels reasonably substantial.I can't say whether it will stand up to years of being shoved in there, but it seems good for the price. The oval handle isn't the most comfortable shape for my hand. Would I enjoy holding it for ages? Probably not. For my fifteen minute walk, though, it is perfectly manageable. It's a compromise between enough cover and something I can actually bring with me, and I'd rather have that than a bigger umbrella sitting at home when the rain starts.
