Umbrella with 30 flexible ribs, compact size, automatic opening and canopy closing. Mechanism works. The fabric feels rather thin, but in rain it has done what is needed. And one more detail: after closing the canopy, the shaft must be pressed down by hand.
The parcel came together with other goods, delivery took 16 days from processing until receiving. A longer wait than I expected, but everything arrived in good condition. No complaints with the umbrella quality, so I can recommend this purchase.

I'm a little in love with it.
I'm a little in love with it. Took me a minute to find the button, I was looking at the wrong thing-a-ma-jig, but once I spotted it the umbrella popped open beautifully. For now I've just got it out to admire, though I can imagine taking it along at my wedding someday. Makes me feel quite fancy.

cheap umbrella's always seemed a false saving to me.
cheap umbrella's always seemed a false saving to me. I keep a few of these around for New York rain, and they've held up well so far. More likely I'll forget one in a taxi or a bar than wear it out. Being able to open it with one hand is brilliant, small when packed away but a decent size overhead.

All of that over something to keep the rain off.
The campus umbrella scare is what I think of whenever someone carries one tucked up behind a backpack. A student had an umbrella down his back with a bit showing over the shoulder, and people decided it was a rifle. There were helicopters, police searching, and the university and nearby schools were shut down while they looked for him. All of that over something to keep the rain off. He was eventually found and it turned out to be an umbrella he had already been using for months. I would not have guessed an umbrella could cause so much confusion. As for this one, it folds down neatly and works well when it rains. Nothing to complain about with the actual umbrella.

It has managed our breezy days pretty well too.
Although it looks quite smart, my Grand-Daughter treats this as a rainy day necessity. She likes the gray because it goes with so many of her outfits. A practical thing, but she is still excited to carry it, which I think is Wonderful. It has managed our breezy days pretty well too. Thank you for an umbrella that gives her something 'useful' as well as something she enjoys.

There is one thing to get used to with closing it.
I've found this a useful little umbrella for a shoulder bag or a roomy handbag. During a trip through Normandy and England I needed it on several occasions, and being able to open & close the canopy at a button press was especially useful when the rain came on suddenly. There is one thing to get used to with closing it. The button folds the canopy, but you then have to slide the telescoping shaft back into the handle until it clicks. That gets it ready for the next opening. At first I hadn't realised that this was part of putting it away, rather than something the button did as well. Once you've done it a few times it is quite straightforward: Close the canopy, push the shaft down, and it is set for the next shower. I bought two in Gray and expect they'll see use throughout the year. For what they cost, I would be quite happy to replace them with the same thing once they've had their useful life..

Losing a $100 umbrella really stings.
After years of buying umbrellas and going through them, I have a few things I want in one.1)automatic canopy close2)affordable3)packed size vs coverage. This covers one medium sized person about 5'6" fine. For two people, no. Even squeezed together there's not enough room underneath. Folded size is good. I though, never get it wrapped anywhere near as tightly as it came in the package. Not nearly. The cost suits me. I've left umbrellas on buses, in other people's houses, all sorts of places. Losing a $100 umbrella really stings. I have already lost this one and didn't feel guilty about the money. The automatic canopy closing is a big help when getting into a car or going through an entrance.Durability: I had mine for over two years. The ribs on the inside seem pretty sturdy.

It's handy for a little shade too.
My three year old son has taken such a shine to this. One of my better purchases, honestly. A few days ago we had loads of rain and he wanted to wander all round the backyard under his umbrella. It's handy for a little shade too. No persuading him to carry it, he's just delighted to have an umbrella of his own.

For what I paid, this was a very good find.
My old umbrella had reached retirement age, and looking for its replacement turned out rather well. This one is a lot less cumbersome than the big umbrellas I usually associate with decent cover. I took it out for a walk one blustery evening and didn't have that constant feeling that I was wrestling the thing. Nothing scientific about that, of course, but it behaved very well. There are 30 flexible ribs under there--quite a busy-looking frame when you look up into it. I can't say which bit deserves the credit, only that it feels nicely supported. At about 105cm across it gives me enough room without being an enormous contraption (no need to clear a path for it). The button is handy when heading out, and also gathers the canopy when I'm done; I then compress the telescoping pole myself. It has some weight to it, though nothing I'd object to carrying on a walk. For what I paid, this was a very good find. I'm quite taken with it.

Such a cute umbrella!
Such a cute umbrella! This was an Easter present for my 3 year old and he wants to use it already. No rain since we got it, but every cloud has him asking if it's time to go out. The ribs feel substantial, not those skinny things I expected, and he loves watching it spring open when I help with the button. The only thing is it's a bit much for him to fold up neatly on his own. I do that part for now, not a big issue.

For walking here in Hawaii I need shade as much as rain cover.
I took the green umbrella out yesterday for the walk of about a mile to catch my bus. Between the buildings there are spots where the wind comes right down the road at you, and small folding umbrellas haven't been much use to me there before. The bigger golf type have generally been better, except then I'm carrying that along with my backpack and whatever else I have. Having something that actually goes in the bag was the reason for trying this one.
It felt more substantial than I expected when I opened it. There were a couple of places on the walk where I had to tighten my grip because the wind was pulling against the canopy. Not something you can just hold loosely and forget about. I wasn't completely sold on the handle at first. The closed oval loop is different from what I'm used to and doesn't look particularly substantial, although in use I didn't have any trouble hanging onto it. It stayed comfortable for the walk, which mattered more than how it looked.
I had a good look underneath before leaving home. There are a lot of ribs under there and the whole arrangement looks more supported than the little umbrellas I've worn out previously. It also accounts for this being a bit heavier. You do notice it when picking it up, although once it was in my backpack it wasn't a big issue. The place where the shaft sections meet was what I kept looking at. It's a fairly slim thing to have all that canopy above it, but nothing shifted or gave me a reason to stop using it.
For walking here in Hawaii I need shade as much as rain cover. In the sunshine it made that same walk considerably more pleasant. The green is a nice colour too, not something I chose expecting it to make any difference to how the umbrella worked. I mainly wanted a manageable size and enough cover over me.
I still tend to open umbrellas cautiously rather than just letting them shoot out wherever they're pointing. This one opens with the button, so I make sure there's room around me first. Closing needs a little explanation if you're expecting the whole thing to retract. Pressing the button folds the canopy, then you push the telescoping shaft back down yourself. Once I'd done it a couple of times that seemed straightforward. Getting the fabric gathered neatly enough for the sleeve takes me longer than operating it. The sleeve is quite snug if I've just bundled everything together, so I have to straighten the folds a little before putting it away.
At this point I expect it to come along on my usual commute. I'll add to this if using it regularly changes my opinion. It isn't the lightest folding umbrella and packing it neatly isn't my favourite part, but so far those are fairly small complaints. For something I can put away on the bus, I'm satisfied with how it has behaved.
Update
We had a gustier spell and I finally had the canopy turn inside out. I was disappointed in the moment, although I wasn't expecting a compact umbrella to be immune to that. I lowered it and got it back into shape without finding anything bent or broken afterwards. It opened normally again. That hasn't put me off carrying it, but I am more careful about how I hold it when the wind comes between the buildings. There's still a tradeoff here compared with carrying a much larger umbrella around.
Further update
It's still being used for the same bus walk. The sleeve looks a little rubbed from being shoved into my bag and I still don't always get the folds tidy on the first try. Well, that part may be me rather than the umbrella. The handle, shaft and ribs are all intact, and the button still works as it should. Considering the regular carrying and opening, I'm happy with that. Still useful, just not completely fuss free to pack away.
Stefanie Rodriguez
They're handy to have around.
I picked up a few to leave in the car and pack in a briefcase or suitcase. They're handy to have around. I wouldn't call them the most rugged things I've handled, but they've handled ordinary rainy days fine. Not sure I'd choose one for a serious storm. For occasional use, though, I think they are a sensible buy.
Carlos Rowe
A practical purchase that I expect to get plenty of use from.
Smartly designed umbrella with a pleasing beige finish and a solid feel throughout. The opening mechanism is convenient and the canopy gives good coverage for a child. It costs more than I would normally spend, but the quality makes that worthwhile. A practical purchase that I expect to get plenty of use from.

Adore this, absolutely adore it!
Adore this, absolutely adore it! It looks pretty and has turned into something I reach for on sunny days, not just when the forecast mentions rain. Here in Arizona there are plenty of times when I want to bring my own bit of shade along. It keeps the sun off my face and shoulders, which makes being outside much more pleasant. I can't believe I spent so long putting up with the glare instead. I had wondered whether a compact umbrella would be too small, but i am six feet tall and find the coverage quite enough for me. It isn't one of those enormous umbrellas, and that is part of the appeal when carrying it around. The handle sits comfortably in my hand and the whole thing feels nicely made. No need to wait for a wet day to use it! It has earned a permanent spot with my everyday things.
Max Duffy
The shaft doesn't pull itself down into the handle
A little more coverage would have been nice, that is my one reservation. Otherwise it has handled breezy rain well, and a shake gets most of the water off rather than leaving the fabric sodden. Packs down neatly too. The automatic opening AND closing are useful, but closing refers to the canopy. The shaft doesn't pull itself down into the handle; you press that down by hand afterwards. I can see how someone might expect the whole thing to retract, but doing that last part yourself is easy enough.
Tiffany Mckee
I liked knowing how much cover to expect before buying.
For my photography display tent I needed a cream white umbrella that could provide some shade and rain cover while I was using it. The listed open size, roughly 105cm, helped me decide it would suit. I liked knowing how much cover to expect before buying. It's easy to hold beside the display and has been just right for what I needed.

Now we're waiting for some rain!
My 3-year-old daughter is always wanting to use an umbrella, so I picked this one for her. Only arrived today, so no idea yet how it will last, but everything looks in good order (nothing to complain about there). She was thrilled when we opened it together. It's still an umbrella I help her with rather than something she manages alone. Very cute. Now we're waiting for some rain!

For what I paid, I think these are good value.
I grew up with fairly plain, sturdy umbrellas, and this one has that same sensible appearance. It has also been good in the rain, which matters more to me than how it photographs. I bought two in gray. The colour is subdued without looking dull, and both look much the same in person.
If you are considering the gray, it is worth looking through the pictures rather than judging it from one view. On my screen some views looked quite dark. In daylight it is more obviously gray; the black underside is a separate thing and makes the folded edges look darker. There isn't a pattern to make out, just a difference in how the colour comes across under different lighting. I added pictures because I find those comparisons useful when shopping myself.
For what I paid, I think these are good value. Someone wanting an umbrella that doesn't draw attention to itself would probably appreciate this colour. The oval loop handle is quite different from the traditional stick handles I remember, but comfortable enough to carry. Folded, it is about 40cm long, so it fits easily in the car or beside my desk without needing a dedicated umbrella stand.
UPDATE: Looking back at my own pictures, the indoor one makes the gray seem darker than it really is, too. The daylight picture is the better guide to the colour. I would still describe it as a straightforward gray umbrella, not black.

Finding right umbrella is not simple.
Finding right umbrella is not simple. Want big cover, small folded size and strength, usually something has to give. I leave this one in the car for the heavy rain, and carry a smaller one for everyday. It suits that job very well. Money spent on something I actually use, rather than another disappointment.
Kent Barr
I wouldn't want to return to the flimsy ones I used before.
My sister liked mine so much that I ended up letting her have it and ordering another for myself. It gives good shelter when rain comes at a bit of an angle, and people have remarked on how nice it looks. I wouldn't want to return to the flimsy ones I used before. It's still a slightly bulky thing to carry once folded, but much easier than a full-length umbrella. The one I handed over was a year old and looked remarkably fresh.
Edgar Sharp
Mine arrived looking good.
Mine arrived looking good. Ive found the handle comfortable, even though I thought the loop might be awkward. We get alot of rain here in Costa Rica, and wind with it. On one walk a gust caught it and the ribs flexed, then it carried on as normal. I was pretty impressed!! The person beside me was having a much harder time with their umbrella. People do look twice at the oval handle, its not the usual shape. Makes me laugh a little.
Steven Frost
Delighted with it!
After trying a couple of umbrellas, I think this is the one I'll stick with! My last one was pretty but didn't have quite enough coverage, so I paid more attention to the open size this time. There's enough room here for me and my bag without having to keep shifting everything about. I've only had it out a few times, including some windy weather, and it hasn't turned inside out or felt difficult to control. The ribs look quite slim individually but there are a lot of them, and together the canopy feels well supported. I chose blue, which looks a little softer in person than in the picture, a nice colour. The button makes opening quick, and another press folds the canopy in. You do still have to push the shaft back down by hand, which took me one try to get used to. Once folded it goes in my large purse easily, which was something I really wanted. Too soon to judge years of use, of course, but everything so far has been encouraging. Delighted with it!
Gary Lutz
He was delighted!!
Bought one for my brother (medieval history major, lots of actual swords etc)and i wanted to check it didnt look cheap before giving it to him.It feels nicely put together, not flimsy, and the oval handle is a detail you actually notice. He was delighted!! Now im thinking i need one myself, because its handy but still looks a bit different
Eileen Kennedy
This works very well, even in the windy rain we get here.
This works very well, even in the windy rain we get here. I just wish I'd paid a little extra for something smaller. There's a lot of umbrella over my head! I'm not a big fellow and it feels a bit like carrying a sail around. One gust had me wondering if I was about to take off. For someone my size it's more than I want for everyday use, so mostly it comes out when there's heavy rain coming. That's about the size, not the quality though. A very good umbrella, just an awful lot of gray canopy for me.
Craig Walsh
It's an umbrella, isn't it?
Not much of a story here. It's an umbrella, isn't it? I use it for summer shade and for getting about in the rain. It isn't the tiniest thing when folded, so you do notice it in a bag. Still, the frame feels substantial and it has been steady in ordinary breezes. That is really all I need from one.
Yolanda Briggs
Seems hugh over little me.
Seems hugh over little me. Didn't bother checking the size properly. Folded down it's manageable at least. Feels very well made and didn't turn inside out in the wind I used it in. Two can squeeze under if you stand close. When I'm carrying it open I look like the umbrella's taking me for a walk
Edward Barrera
They just seemed too flimsy for what I wanted.
I kept trying to save money on a sun umbrella, which meant looking at cheaper ones and not being happy with the feel of them. They just seemed too flimsy for what I wanted.I eventually spent more on this one and WOW, the difference in how solid it feels is obvious to me. The grip feels secure, it opens without a struggle and I get a comfortable patch of shade. Having handled the less expensive options first probably makes me appreciate it more. Still not thrilled about spending this much on an umbrella, but very happy with the umbrella itself.
Jeff Gonzales
A good umbrella, with that one reservation.
After actually using it a few times, I like this umbrella more than I did at first.-----The button opening AND closing sounded like the answer to everything. It does open the umbrella and fold the canopy back down, but compressing the shaft is still a separate job you do manually. I had imagined it shortening itself as well...not quite! Nothing is wrong with it, just worth understanding what automatic actually means here. It DOES feel substantial without being a huge thing to carry. I've had it out in rain and a bit of wind, and it kept its shape nicely. The sleeve is handy for putting it away once dry. This is not the cheapest umbrella, and for the money I would have liked less effort at the very last stage of packing it up. Still, the compact size and useful button make it a keeper for me. A good umbrella, with that one reservation.
Erik Curry
Okay, spending a little more on an umbrella makes sense to me.
Okay, spending a little more on an umbrella makes sense to me.I tried saving money before and wasn't pleased with what I got. This one feels properly put together, and the loop handle is a big plus for me.It's something you actually have to carry, so the handle matters. Umbrellas aren't exactly an exciting purchase but buying one you like is worth it. Planning to get another to keep at the office for those unexpected showers.
Summer Waller
Couldn't resist the look of it though..
Umbrella's aren't normally for me, I actually enjoy getting rained on, and this is the first I've bought. Couldn't resist the look of it though.. now I'm waiting for an excuse to take it out, which is funny since half the time I'm carrying it for style rather than shelter
Mckenzie Tyler
The girls were delighted with them.
Ordered three of these for the flower girls at my wedding and they went down a treat! The girls were delighted with them. They feel sturdy too, which matters with my lively little sisters around. Getting them took a bit longer than I'd hoped, but we weren't in a rush. Couldn't be happier with how they looked!

) and I'm very happy with it.
No grumbles from me about this little umbie. It's dealt with wet days in Boston and Miami without fuss. It folds for travelling, so I wasn't expecting a huge canopy. In really heavy weather I wear a raincoat too and let the umbrella cover my head and handbag. It goes into my usual bag (not one of those bags you could practically live out of...) and I'm very happy with it.
Shelly Orr
It looks so nice opened out, too.
Gave one as a gift & she was thrilled. Her reaction was "Oh, I've wanted one like this for ages!" I use one myself & appreciate that it folds down instead of filling up my bag. It looks so nice opened out, too. Handy to take when the forecast is uncertain, and I've also used mine for a little shade in the bleachers while watching sports on sunny days. It's nice when something useful also has a bit of style to it. Such a pleasing mix of looks & practicality!
Tracy Peters
A useful umbrella, the flexible ribs give a little with a breeze…
A useful umbrella, the flexible ribs give a little with a breeze rather than feeling completely rigid ,which I appreciate after some cheaper ones I've owned. Quite satisfied with it for everyday rain, although a wooden handle would have looked a touch smarter to me than the loop style.
Carolyn Doyle
The green is a nice vivid colour.
An umbrella I noticed somebody carrying had that almost painted look about it, and the idea stayed with me long after I'd forgotten where I'd seen it. I didn't particularly want a picture printed on mine, more the feeling of something a bit different. Then this green one appeared while I was browsing, and that was that! It hasn't rained since it arrived so I can't report on that part yet; but naturally I had it opened up straight away. The green is a nice vivid colour. There is a sleeve to put it back into, too. Outside you get all that green and underneath it's black, quite a contrast when you turn it over. With the button it springs open, and pressing again draws the canopy shut. You do have to push the telescoping shaft back down by hand afterwards, which I hadn't quite understood until I tried it. Easy enough once I'd done it. The other thing I hadn't properly thought about was the folded length. It's about 40cm, so my idea of dropping it into any little handbag was a bit optimistic! I should've paid more attention to the dimensions rather than just seeing “compact” and getting excited about the colour. I'll use a bigger bag when I want to bring it along. Not much of a problem really, and I like the look of it enough that I'm happy to make room. Now just waiting for some rain.
Ryan Bryant
In normal rain it's fine and I like that it folds away.
I've been using this umbrella for about a year and it's decent, but not the really solid feeling umbrella I hoped for. In normal rain it's fine and I like that it folds away. When the weather gets windy I have to pay attention to how I'm holding it, which is not quite the carefree experience I wanted. For the record it still works, so I'm not saying it's useless - just good rather than great. Next time I'd probably go for something with a more substantial feel.

Took a little time getting here and i haven't had rain to try it…
Took a little time getting here and i haven't had rain to try it in yet, but it looks like a quality umbrella! i like having a proper sleeve to put it away in, rather than the flimsy covers on ones i've had before. feels quite solid when opened and the price seems fair, so i'm looking forward to seeing how it does outside!
Alisha Curry
Came sooner than I expected ,and I'm pleased with the quality.
Came sooner than I expected ,and I'm pleased with the quality. My sister has had a few of these over the years ,I've even taken them over to Germany for her. They ought to be easier to find in other countries lol. This is the sort of umbrella people would happily spend a bit more on, something useful that doesn't feel like you are buying it just to replace it.

My daughter put an umbrella on her Christmas list and I did wonder…
My daughter put an umbrella on her Christmas list and I did wonder why she wanted one at first, then remembered where she parks for work. There is no covered parking and she has that walk from the car to the building in whatever weather turns up. The button makes it simple to get it open as she steps out and the canopy gives her good coverage. Now she just needs to remember to leave it where she can reach it, not buried in the trunk.
Omar Patrick
I'd recommend an umbrella for shade if the sun bothers you.
I'd recommend an umbrella for shade if the sun bothers you. Pink makes me happy so I picked that colour. Nice for sunny walks at amusement parks or watching the children in the park. I take it walking most places. And it if I've forgotten my sunglasses, I still appreciate having shade overhead. IT'S COMING WITH ME. Just a little bulky to carry around all day.
Evelyn Moyer
It packs up neatly and I'm very happy with it.
When I was looking at this I was more interested in the folded size, and it is worth checking both measurements rather than assuming compact means tiny. It is about 105cm across open and 40cm packed away, so it gives me decent cover but isn't something I would put in a small pocket. I had a similar sort for three years and liked it enough to look for another one!!! The button brings the canopy down quickly, which is the part I appreciate when getting into the car. You still need to push the telescoping section down afterwards. It packs up neatly and I'm very happy with it.
Lauren Wiggins
It has felt steady and given me good shelter.
It's a very wet, blustery day here and I've already been out a couple of times with this umbrella. It has felt steady and given me good shelter.Nothing fussy about using it either. After the rainy season at home and the wet weather I've carried it through on trips, I have a lot of confidence in it.Does what I need. Recommended.
Shawna Wilcox
Very easy overall, worth five stars.
Probably my next favourite umbrella.(I have another similar one that just edges it out.) it opens with a press of the button, and another press folds the canopy in. You still push the stem down yourself. The pink looks sweet. Feels quite solid, though so far I've only carried it for shade, not tried it in wet or windy weather. I wanted something fairly small and this suits me as a small adult. Very easy overall, worth five stars.
Phillip Glover
gray is nice,not too bulky.
my other half is hopeless with umbrellas and sunglasses, always losing them. opening and closing umbrellas was another battle, this button sends the canopy up and down. just push the stem short again after closing. gray is nice, not too bulky. works fine, now we only have to remember to bring it home.

I spend plenty of weekend time watching my daughter play soccer…
I spend plenty of weekend time watching my daughter play soccer and wanted some shade while standing there. The canopy gives me a good bit of room underneath and makes the sunny games more comfortable.A few of the other parents have asked about it after standing beside me in the shade.I've been happy to suggest it to them, its been useful on those long afternoons at the field.
Brad Larson
He is happy with it.
Had a new smell! We let it stand open for a couple of days and haven't noticed it since. The button is easy for him, then i push the shaft back in when we're done. He figured that part out quickly. no little catch to fiddle with. Trouble is he wants to drag his wagon around and pick up worms when it rains, and holding an umbrella uses one of those hands. So mostly I'm the one walking along holding it over him. He is happy with it.
Leroy Acevedo
so it all came together.
ordered these for our wedding pictures, with beige as part of the colour scheme. if you're mixing a few soft neutrals, they work really well. the shade looks lighter in person than on my screen, but we were using them in pairs...so it all came together. a gentle beige, definitely on the lighter side.
Shaun Rivera
Nice amount of cover for a folding umbrella.
Nice amount of cover for a folding umbrella. I expected it to be awkwardly long when shut, but it stores away better than I thought. I ordered gray and like the shade, no complaints there. The canopy folding at the press of the button is the best part. It doesn't pull the whole stem down to the handle; you shorten that yourself by hand afterwards. That's just how it resets. Very helpful when I'm carrying a child and need to get through a doorway without wrestling a wet umbrella. I liked mine enough to order one for my husband too.
Terrance Nunez
I went with beige and am pleased with the way it looks.
Bought another 2 after trying the first one and liking how solid it was without being awkward to carry.. enough room for me with my backpack, though two adults would need to stand close. The button is handy when I have only one hand free, especially getting it open. It slips into its sleeve easily once folded. I went with beige and am pleased with the way it looks.

Love the blue BUT it does draw attention.
Love the blue BUT it does draw attention. I wasn't expecting people to have opinions on an umbrella... A couple of lovely comments and one person who wasn't keen on the colour. Fine by me. It gives a nice broad bit of cover and works well in normal rain. I wouldn't go waving it around in fierce gusts, but for the weather I actually use it in, I'm delighted.
