This makes more sense for me.

The thing I appreciate most is being able to open AND shut the canopy with one button! I had used that sort of umbrella for years, so the manually closing one I received at Christmas ended up staying in the closet. This makes more sense for me. Two coffees, my handbag and keys are quite enough to juggle while getting through a doorway.........one press gets the canopy out of the way. The shaft still needs pushing down afterwards, but I can do that once I'm under cover. Much easier!

Overall I would certainly recommend it.

Here in Texas we get rain blowing at an angle, and a tiny umbrella doesn't give you much help. This one has enough canopy that I can tip it towards the rain and still keep myself covered. I do have to leave the front edge high enough to see where I'm going, rather than bury my head under it.The frame feels solid and the flexible ribs seem to cope well with the change in pressure when the breeze catches it. It's not a huge umbrella to carry around, either, which makes it much more likely that somebody in the family will actually take it along. It has become a very useful everyday thing for us.Overall I would certainly recommend it.

Rather cute umbrella!

Rather cute umbrella! I gave this to my girlfriend as a little extra Christmas gift, and it does the job it says. It tucks into her purse provided there's enough length, and her larger purse still has room for other things. The catch we've found is the grip area being a little small.. usually no trouble, except the button is there as well. If you squeeze it the wrong way you can press that without meaning to and close the canopy on yourself. In ordinary rain that isn't such a drama, but when you're hurrying to a restaurant or trying to get a cab while being rained on, you don't really need that surprise!Otherwise, it's been a lovely little umbrella. For women taking a purse along it makes sense.. for us guys, I would lean towards something bigger. I don't have a purse to stow it in anyway, and if I'm walking with a woman I would sooner have the extra covering for both of us than the smaller packed size!

That's how I feel about this umbrella.

You can keep wasting money on the cheap stuff that only just gets you through, or pay a little more once and have something decent. That's how I feel about this umbrella. Properly made, enough coverage to stay dry, and it doesn't feel flimsy when the wind picks up. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

Where I live we get far more sunshine than showers.

Where I live we get far more sunshine than showers. So far I've only carried it on the golf course for shade while waiting to play. It's been good for that and hasn't been awkward to hold in a breeze. Can't give an opinion on rain yet, but I'm expecting it to be useful there too!

This umbrella has a nice strong feel to it.

I wanted something that would last without having to spend $80. This umbrella has a nice strong feel to it. Only used it a couple of times, and haven't tried it in rough wind, but so far so good. Opens easily and packs back down nicely. The size works well for me too.

Oscar Martin

Once reset it opens normally again.

I find the umbrella sturdy overall, with the closing routine being the one area that could be easier. The button draws the canopy in properly, but compressing the telescoping shaft afterwards takes a fairly firm push. That is not a difficulty for me, although friends with less hand strength have found it awkward. Once reset it opens normally again. I would prefer a little less resistance in that final movement, as the rest of the construction gives a good impression and the umbrella performs well in rain.

Years later and I still don't know why more people haven't got one.

Years later and I still don't know why more people haven't got one. I work downtown and see people wrestling with their umbrellas in the rain, with wrecked ones ending up in trash cans. I just keep walking with mine. No drama and no soaking, it has done what I needed all this time.

This one has been good at keeping the rain off.

I walk about a mile and a quarter to the bus stop on the northern California coast, so an umbrella has to be practical rather than just look nice. This one has been good at keeping the rain off. My only annoyance is squeezing past power poles and bushes that have been allowed to take over the pavement. Even a compact umbrella needs some room when it is open. That is hardly the umbrella's fault though. The closed loop handle sits comfortably in my hand and I feel I have a decent hold when the wind picks up. I can keep my arm in a fairly relaxed position instead of holding it awkwardly high. A useful umbrella for my walk, and one I am glad I picked!

This makes two of these for me now.

This makes two of these for me now. I got my own a few months back and my best friend kept admiring it, so she received one for her birthday. Both of us are delighted. Good size when opened and the button saves fumbling when a shower starts. Nice to give something that actually gets used as well as being liked.

Our little girl loves her umbrella!

Our little girl loves her umbrella! She's five and has been using it since Christmas, still seems sturdy despite her being quite lively. One thing to remember, the button closes the CANOPY, you have to push the shaft back in yourself until it catches. I was being too gentle with that part at first, didn't want to force it, but a friend showed me it needs a proper firm push.

James Morrison

honestly didnt expect to get so attached to something this ordinary.

mine has been along through wet weather in europe, canada and new england, and two years of regular carrying is a fair test in my book. it folds down enough for my handbag and doesn't feel like a nuisance to bring along. even the windy days in holland didn't leave me wishing i'd stayed indoors!! i still use some sense about where i open it, but it's been a dependable umbrella. honestly didnt expect to get so attached to something this ordinary.

Shelley Guzman

Opening it is quick, too.

Dear fellow umbrella users,I wanted to add a few words for anyone making up their mind! I have bought two of these and have been impressed by how substantial they feel. I cannot judge every umbrella from the reviews alone, but I can say that these have suited me very well. The canopy gives me plenty of cover in the rain, and the flexible ribs have coped nicely when it has been breezy. There is something satisfying about getting home dry rather than wrestling with an umbrella the whole way! Opening it is quick, too. For an everyday folding umbrella, I think the quality justifies what I paid. I am a contented customer!Best wishes

1st- for regular rain it has been good.

We've used this umbrella for a few months and the walk to school today is what made me sit down and write this.1st- for regular rain it has been good. The Cream White is nice and my son likes carrying it himself. He is 3 so I still help him get it positioned, but once he's holding it properly there is enough cover without him having to fight to stay underneath it. I do the opening and closing for him. The bad- today was much windier than our usual rainy walk. A gust caught the canopy and pulled it sideways quite sharply while he was holding on. He stumbled trying to follow it and got very upset. He kept gripping it instead of letting go, so I grabbed the handle and carried it myself after that. Nothing broke and he wasn't hurt, but seeing him struggling with it was frightening. I was glad we were still on the pavement and not stepping into the road. Obviously this isn't a little child's umbrella, and I should have taken it off him sooner. It works well for us when the rain is coming straight down, so I'm not throwing it out over this. But I don't think I'll let him hold it when it's blustery again. For an adult it may just be an awkward tug; for a small child it was a much bigger deal. Useful umbrella, just not as carefree for him as our first few outings suggested.

Bill Sexton

Press the button and it goes up smoothly.

The finish seems as good as my other umbrella, which cost about twice this even in a sale. Press the button and it goes up smoothly. The handle is more plain looking than fancy, but that's what I expected for the price (my expensive one is no better looking). Don't buy it thinking you can lean on it like a walking stick!

Jorge Foley

Such a nice find!

Such a nice find! Walking home from school in the rain, my 6 year old daughter noticed a mom with a gray umbrella. Straight onto her Christmas list it went, so I found this one for her! She is delighted. The button makes opening it easy and collapses the canopy too. I like the oval loop handle, it is a comfortable shape to hold. It all seems nicely put together, and she is thrilled with her umbrella!!

Antonio Villegas

I've come back to this umbrella more than once.

I've come back to this umbrella more than once. The first got plenty of use, which is about the best recommendation I can give something that spends so much time being opened and packed away. One went missing, so I can't blame the umbrella for that. I keep choosing it because it feels sturdy and gives me good coverage without being a long umbrella to carry around. The only thing worth mentioning is the closing takes a little effort. Pressing the button folds the canopy, but the telescoping part still needs pressing down by hand before putting it away. That isn't a fault, just something to know. It opens readily, keeps me dry, and the one I'm using now feels every bit as useful as the first.

Joshua Mcdowell

Otherwise pleased, and I'll see how it goes with longer use!

I recieved this a few weeks back and it still feels nicely put together. It has done a good job of keeping my head and shoulders dry, which is what I wanted. The beige looks much like the picture. The ribs feel flexible rather than flimsy, and it hasn't been awkward to hold when the weather gets breezy. I leave it open to dry before wrapping it up, just seems the sensible thing to do. I am 1.6m and the handle feels at a natural height for me, not like I have to keep my arm raised all the time. The automatic opening is useful and the button folds the top too. You still press the shaft shorter yourself, so putting it away isn't entirely one handed. For the price I wish that last step needed less effort. Otherwise pleased, and I'll see how it goes with longer use!

Anna Henderson

Would recommend, worth the price.

Compact and handy. Compact and handy. Very pleased, comfortable to carry. Would recommend, worth the price. Would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend, would recommend.

Isabel Mason

The handle feels quite substantial and a little heavy to me.

The finish gives a good first impression and it came neatly packed, without much waiting. I've not had it out in wind yet so can't comment on that part. The handle feels quite substantial and a little heavy to me. For an adult that's fine, though I wouldn't pick it for a small child.

Darryl Kent

Looking forward to using it for shade in summer too.

Still dry over here!! It's been a good companion in New York City, where the breeze between buildings makes carrying an umbrella interesting. Looking forward to using it for shade in summer too. Four stars because I would REALLY prefer a more traditional curved handle; this closed oval loop works fine, just isn't my favourite shape.

Cole Compton

I'm loving this umbrella!

I'm loving this umbrella! It has had a few months of use now and still works great. Makes a rainy day a little nicer. The button opens it and also pulls the canopy shut, but then you push the shaft down yourself. That part takes a pretty firm shove. First time I was nervous about pressing that hard...it was fine. I'd bear that in mind for a child or anyone who hasn't much strength in their hands.

Julian Lam

Smart looking umbrella and feels well put together.

Smart looking umbrella and feels well put together. For the price I really cant complain. The carry sleeve is a NICE touch, makes it easier to keep everything together when it's put away. I wrap the canopy up properly first so it goes back in neatly, rather than leaving folds sticking out. Would happily get another, recommend it to a friend or give one as a gift.

Nicolas Lambert

I ordered this Umbrella as a present for a friend.

I ordered this Umbrella as a present for a friend. She always carried a tiny folding one and never seemed to get much shelter from it. We got caught in the rain together one day and I let her use mine. She wears glasses, and straight away she said how nice it was not having rain all over the lenses. That gave me the idea to get her one for herself. Now she takes it whenever the weather looks doubtful, she really likes it. I wear glasses as well so I understood exactly what she meant about keeping them dry. You can hold it high enough to see ahead and still have a decent amount of cover. Very useful without being a huge thing to carry, I do reccomend it.

Alexandria Nicholson

It seems nicely made and looks just as good in person.

An umbrella was on my nearly four-year-old's birthday list, of all things. Chose the black because she liked how it looked. It seems nicely made and looks just as good in person. This is an adult sized umbrella, so I'll be helping her with it rather than expecting her to manage it alone. Plenty of cover for her! I can already imagine how excited she will be!!

Eddie Bullock

This one has been a big improvement.

Needed a replacement after my old umbrella got turned inside out and never really recovered. The fastening on that one also bent, so keeping it folded became a nuisance. This one has been a big improvement. I've used it on wet, blustery days and it's stayed in shape and kept me dry. The push button is a very, very welcome feature when I'm trying to get it up quickly. Whenever this one eventually wears out, I'd happily choose the same again.

Gerald Yoder

The handle is a closed oval loop, which is easy to hold.

Everything looks correct, the gray color is very nice. The underside is entirely black. The handle is a closed oval loop, which is easy to hold. The button opens the umbrella and closes the canopy properly. After that I push the shaft in by hand. Well made overall.

Madison Dunlap

Worth checking if your bag is very small.

The one slightly fussy part is pushing the shaft back down after closing the canopy, especially getting into a car with your other hand occupied. Apart from that, it comes very close to what I want...neat looking, sturdy, and useful. The five stars are because I enjoy using it, not because every movement is automatic. Having the button gather the canopy makes putting it away easier. I'd take a little more substance over the smallest possible package. A few things I've noticed, in roughly the order I noticed them...+ The canopy has a good curved profile and covers more than its folded size suggests. Helpful when rain isn't falling straight down.+ Not featherweight, but around 390g is manageable for the amount of umbrella you get. The closed oval loop gives me somewhere secure to grip.+ There are 30 flexible ribs underneath; the support looks substantial without everything feeling rigid.+ Folded length is about 40cm, with roughly 105cm across when open. Worth checking if your bag is very small.+ The canopy fabric looks smart without being flashy. It gathers neatly instead of becoming an awkward bunch.- Closing by button still leaves the telescoping shaft to push in yourself. An extra hand movement, although straightforward once you're used to it.- There is some give in the framework. I prefer that to expecting every part to be completely stiff.- I wouldn't describe it as invincible in wind. I gave it a couple of quick downward pulls out of curiosity, not exactly a scientific experiment, but it seemed perfectly happy afterwards.

Roberto Hernandez

Very pleased so far.

Two weeks in and I've carried this umbrella for eight rounds of golf. Very pleased so far. I walk the course, and having some shade along with me makes those hot sunny days much more comfortable. It is handy to take along and feels well put together. I'd recommend it to anyone who finds walking in the sunshine hard going

This is my third one, which probably says enough.

This is my third one, which probably says enough. The first had around a year and a half of regular use, possibly longer. I managed to lose the next one, so I'm not blaming the umbrella for that. I keep coming back because it feels substantial when open and gives me decent coverage without being awkward to take along. Closing takes a little getting used to: the button gathers the canopy, then you have to compress the telescoping part yourself. That isn't something the button does for you. Once I understood that, it was straightforward. For something I use this often, I care more about reliable opening and staying dry than anything fancy. It has been a very useful purchase, enough so that replacing the lost one wasn't really a decision.

Vernon Dickson

All three feel nicely put together and the buttons are simple to use.

All three feel nicely put together and the buttons are simple to use. We carry them when taking the kids to their morning bus, plenty of room for an adult and a child tucked in close. The fabric feels decent and I don't much care about a label if the umbrella works good :)For what we spent on three, we're happy with the value.Couldn't ask for much more at this price.

At last, one I don't have to wrestle on a wet walk!

At last, one I don't have to wrestle on a wet walk! It has kept the rain off during the showers we've had lately and I can hold it steady enough to see ahead. I'm not forever tilting it back into place or waving it towards other people, which makes walking along a busy pavement much easier.

Diamond Krause

For the amount of shade it gives, this is surprisingly easy to carry.

For the amount of shade it gives, this is surprisingly easy to carry. Love it! I'm a 39 year old man who's had skin cancer removed. All clear now, but I take the sun seriously. Sunscreen stays part of my routine, umbrella or not. DON'T SKIP IT!!!Easy to open, nicely made and so useful!

A Mother's Day present...

A Mother's Day present...for my mother's mother-in-law rather than my own mom! She thought it was adorable. The black looks so smart too. I had only just bought myself another umbrella, otherwise I'd have ordered an extra for me. Apparently one umbrella is supposed to be enough...ha! It was all ready in plenty of time for Mother's Day, which saved me the usual last minute gift panic.

Mary Campbell

Good start!

Good start!Only had it out once, in some quite unpleasant rain, and it stayed in shape while a friend and I squeezed underneath. Kept us dry. The folded length is the one thing I hadn't really pictured properly; it isn't something I can just forget in a pocket. Still, it does the job I bought it for, so I'm satisfied with it.

Kevin Brown

It looks just as it did in the listing and seems excellent quality.

My boy's Christmas umbrella arrived with time to spare, which I appreciated. It looks just as it did in the listing and seems excellent quality. Between the item itself and getting it here in time for Christmas, I've had a very good experience with this purchase.

Jesus Cline

it is nice not having a long handle sticking out everywhere.

My grand daughter loves having her own umbrella and was so excited when she saw this one. She is 3 1/2 so I will help with the button, but the loop is nice for her to hold. we have had plenty of rain so it should be useful on our walks. Both grand daughters like spinning umbrella's and I have to keep an eye on that.it is nice not having a long handle sticking out everywhere.

Jasmine Cantrell

After using it, I'm pleased with it overall.

The solid-looking construction was what drew me to this one. After using it, I'm pleased with it overall.Feels comfortable to hold, doesn't seem heavy to carry and dries out nicely. I'd probably choose the same umbrealla again if we needed another for the house.

Sheena Scott

This gray umbrella is a practical choice for everyday use.

This gray umbrella is a practical choice for everyday use. I am not a golfer and wanted something I could carry without having a long umbrella to store. The construction with 30 flexible ribs gives it a substantial feel, and the canopy provides useful coverage for one adult in ordinary rain. Opening is done with a button, which is convenient when only one hand is free. Pressing again collapses the canopy; the telescoping section is then shortened manually. Below are the approximate demensions:- 105cm across when open- 40cm folded length- 390g in weight. The closed oval loop handle is different from a traditional hook, but easy to hold. It is compact rather than pocket sized, which is worth keeping in mind. I am glad to have it available for daily use and would recommend it to others.Thank you for taking the time to read this.

the loop handle gives me a good grip.

My grand daughter was excited about this umbrella and wanted a turn when she seen it. we have had lots of wet days lately so it is handy when we're out together. There is room with her close beside me. My two grand daughters like twirling umbrella's about, so I keep hold of this one myself.the loop handle gives me a good grip. We've stayed dry underneath it and that is the main thing for me.

Tara Pruitt

Seems a solidly put together umbrella.

Seems a solidly put together umbrella. I gave it a trial run in the yard, away from public view, because apparently opening umbrellas is now how I spend my afternoons. It worked nicely. The whole thing is rather elegant, far more elegant than I am, which is why it is destined for my wife. She will be delighted, I think. My sons would probably sooner get wet than be spotted borrowing something their mother calls lovely. Naturally I have filed that information away for future parenting purposes. A small household purchase with unexpected disciplinary possibilities, though only for very, very serious offences.

Micheal Murphy

Useful in the rain as well!

Took this to Mobile for our State tennis tournament in June. Anyone who's been there then knows you spend a lot of time looking for shade. I wanted something to hold over me between games, and this did the job nicely. The others on my team borrowed it too! It was much nicer sitting underneath it than with the sun right in our faces. Easy to carry around when folded, so it wasn't a nuisance to bring. Useful in the rain as well!

Francis Donaldson

What has impressed me most is how smoothly it opens

I'd gone through enough inexpensive folding umbrellas to decide that the next one needed to be a bit more substantial. Looking in the local shops didn't turn up much that appealed, so I ended up choosing this one online. The gray is understated and suits me, and the size strikes a good balance between carrying it and actually staying dry. There is comfortable room for one person, or two if you don't mind being close. What has impressed me most is how smoothly it opens; it feels quite positive rather than hesitant or flimsy. Closing the canopy is another button press, with the shaft pushed back in by hand afterwards. That part is straightforward once you know what to do. The fabric sheds the rain nicely and the frame has felt reassuring during use. I also like the oval loop handle, which gives me a good grip without being bulky. It is practical rather than showy, but I think it looks smart. I'm glad I took a little more care choosing this time.

Alejandra Luna

The umbrella feels beautifully made!

The umbrella feels beautifully made! With six children, being able to open it one handed makes a huge difference. I can keep hold of a child's hand instead of struggling to get us covered. The closed loop handle is soooooo handy to grip, and it feels secure when I'm carrying other things too. I haven't been out with it in windy weather yet, but it certainly doesn't feel like a flimsy little umbrella!

Logan Rubio

It gives nicer shade than my old golf umbrella too.

Summers here are hot enough that I really notice the difference a bit of shade makes. The gray umbrella doesn't take away the heat, but I'm much more comfortable walking the golf course under it than out in the sun. It gives nicer shade than my old golf umbrella too. Feels like having a shady spot I can take along, and the frame looks ready for winter rain as well.

Allison Arias

I love having this umbrella and am soo glad I went for it.

I love having this umbrella and am soo glad I went for it. We get plenty of wind where I live and my old one was pretty much useless. This one has handled the rainy blustery days I've been out in without a fuss. Worth what I paid, honestly. My friends thought I was mad spending more on an umbrella, sort of gave me that "you paid how much?" face. After seeing me stay dry while theirs were a pain, the comments were a bit different.

Taylor Murillo

This is a lovely umbrella.

This is a lovely umbrella. It feels solid when opened and the cream white looks just as I expected from the picture. There's a good amount of room underneath without feeling as though I'm carrying something enormous. I can see it being useful for a student carrying bags, a parent pushing a stroller, or somebody walking the dog. A couple could share it if they stayed fairly close. The button opens it promptly, with no fiddling about. It also folds the canopy closed, although you still have to shorten the shaft by hand afterwards. That last push takes two hands for me. Not ideal when I'm loaded up with things, but I can stop and rearrange everything rather than struggle along. The important part is that I have stayed dry underneath it, including in a proper downpour. Folded, it's about 40cm long, so a suitcase is no problem but my small handbag isn't going to hold it. I find that easier to deal with than a full length umbrella that always has to be carried separately. The oval loop handle gives me something secure to hold, too. This feels like a good umbrella for the price, not something I've paid extra for just because it looks nice. I looked at quite a few before deciding on this and haven't wished I'd picked a different one. It's compact enough to take along and big enough to be useful when the rain really starts. I'm considering another as a gift for a couple I know.

Larry Reed

Handy for shade and for rain, which is how our family uses it.

My daughter and her teammates made a big fuss over it when it came! It looks so nice and we keep getting asked where we found it. Handy for shade and for rain, which is how our family uses it. We've been enjoying this umbrealla every time it comes out. WE'RE FANS!

Crystal Rasmussen

The button action is smooth.

Replaced my old compact umbrella with this and I'm happy with the finish and materials. The button action is smooth. It covers me and my usual cross body bag quite well (I'm an average sized person...someone much bigger might want more cover). Nothing complicated to praise really, just a well made umbrella that lives in my bag until I need it.
